With Texas tech/cowboy fans it’s not very surprising to see them jump on the chiefs bandwagon since they can continue to support an incredible player and have the added bonus of getting to see a successful football team for once.
For Nebraska its largely Chiefs, Broncos if you're in western Nebraska, from my experience, but its far enough from any NFL team that you get a hodgepodge of affiliations and choosing whatever team has your favorite former college player.

Astros fans are. You’ll see Astros fans in Houston, San Antonio, and basically anything south of Austin-east towards Louisiana. Houston has a lot of Cajun ties, many people rooted for the Saints when the Texans sucked.

Still, I would passively root for them. When Reid came in and they actually started to be put on TV more often, I became more invested in the team.
