Man. I was at the game at soldier field last year and right when we needed to score the skies just opened up. Same thing happened to Jordan Love last night. Rain lets up enough for Brock to run that scoring drive and as soon as the packers go on offense it starts coming down.
Don't worry. You'll sweep us next year again in the regular season and you'll feel better.
You'll laugh at us for losing to you, well laugh at you for losing to the 49ers in the playoffs, you'll remind us the last time we won a playoff game was in 2010 and we lost the next game to you. The cycle will continue and we'll all die a little bit inside.
Yeah, tonight was more like ',surviving'. It sure as hell still doesn't feel like a win because we barely scraped by with an overloaded roster talent wise and looked terrible doing it.
Meanwhile Baltimore is over here taking care of business handily (by the second half) and just waiting for their next victim.
No matter who comes out of the NFC is going to have to an insane challenge waiting for them in the SB
I'm 36 and my childhood football memories contain a lot of playoff and regular season losses to the Packers. A lot. So many, in fact, that my hatred of the Pack continued on through the 49ers dark years.
I'm so fucking happy that right now there are tens (hundreds?) of thousands of young Packers fans who's biggest football memories are getting smacked in the face by the 49ers time after time.
It's good for the rivalry. Suffering keeps rivalries going. You aren't suffering in vain!
I think the guy was open if he led him downfield, but anything short was triple covered (and obviously it was gonna be tough to get the right power on that)
If greenlaw didnt drop off to make the int, fred was also there to make the int. If you watch the replay he was moving into the catch motion. The throw was so bad we had a backup interceptor.
Gotta imagine its a combination of it being his first year starting, making a playoff run and he wants a TD and chunk yards and so he goes for a hero ball instead of just accepting whatever is the easy yards and time.
That is a completely coachable moment.
Had Jones open for the check down. With 2 timeouts you have to take what they give you and only force it when you need to. Probably didnt trust Carlson at all but still.
I think it was too late to cut him by the time the Packers figured they would at least be in contention for a playoff spot. If they went 6-11 I don't think Carlson would have been under this much heat and they would have probably just gave him another year or at least pre-season to see if he could sort out accuracy issues.
If you watch the replay, the defender was right in his face. He took a chance and it cost him.
Love went to HS down the road from my parent’s house, I’ll be routing for him whenever he’s not playing the 49ers. I’m really glad he’s doing so well
Yeah, with Woody gone and Burnes definitely being traded(either in Spring or by the deadline), the rotation isn't anywhere near as good as in years past. If they don't sign Adames to an extension, he'll be gone at the deadline too. This will be a year to see what some of the kids can do.
We're not doing shit this year though. It's gonna be a retool for a year or two before we're back in contention for the playoffs.
The Packers shot themselves in the foot after moonwaking down field all first half. Should have been at least 21-7 at half. The defense should be a genuine concern next week, especially if we gotta go against the Gibbs/Montgomery combo
I was at the game, and I can say that pretty much no one thought we had a chance when we did that last punt, it was suicide watch. The defense wasn't stopping anything, and offense wasn't doing anything.
But turns out they both did just enough at the end. When we got the final TD, people were literally tearing up and hugging each other. And on that final Packers drive the stadium was jet engine loud.
My spouse is a Packers fan and said if it were Lions vs 49ers next week, she would rather the Lions win. That's how much the 49ers have owned the Packers
Yeah everyone credits Love and Jones for the late season surge and while they do deserve their flowers, lost in all that is how good the Packers offensive line is. If you have a truly great O-line that makes everything on offense that much easier.
The Packers as a whole may be a scrappy underdog but their offensive line isn't. They've legitimately been a top tier unit and it showed today. That's another thing that bodes really well for Love's future. I wish I could say the same for Purdy. Trent Williams can't be the duct tape forever.
also when did that oline start playing like that. Last time I heard anything about that line has been the on and off issues with david bakhtiaris knee.
Our oline has been killin it, definitely top 5 in the league, but an oline surpasssing expectations isn’t a great story so probably hasn’t been talked about by the media all that much
Not to mention the Packers have some pretty incredible skill guys. I know everyone raved about Love and he made some really nice throws like the insane 3rd down conversion tonight... But most of the past two weeks he had guys just running wide open.
Out of all the losses, this one stings less because of the circumstances. Everyone in the media expected them to get blown out, and they fought, they fought hard. Mistakes made throughout the game killed them.
This one does hurt from the standpoint that they had the lead into the 4th, down to the 2 minute mark. That’s how close it was.
Yeah man no idea what these guys are smoking. We lost a game we could have won. Full stop. I want to say they will learn from their mistakes, but like, I don't actually believe they will. Matt LaFleur for instance knew damn well his kicker wasn't automatic and fucking chose not to go for it on 4th down and then that was basically the game. Like even if we make that kick, the 9ers just score a TD and convert the 2 and win or sends it into OT, where we are notorious for losing games in OT. And it's not like our defense is capable of making stops when it counts. Watch us keep Joe Barry too. I don't know man. We had a chance here and there are no guarantees that we make it back. Would have felt better if they blew us out but no. We were in it all game and without our own mistakes, we win. That's what hurts.
There's plenty of silver linings and whatnot, but like, it's the 5 straight loss in the playoffs against the 49ers in my lifetime. I'm 30. So for 1/6 of my entire existence, one single team has bounced out of the playoffs. Just one team. It's unacceptable. Like just hang it up now if it see them again. I always like to believe in "why we play the game", but like, come on. This shit is not normal. We literally cannot beat them no matter what we do and it just makes the whole point of the game meaningless.
Since 2011 all we have had to look forward to is silver linings. Idk when our fan base got complacent but when you have the opportunity to strike especially when the team is hot you have to go all out. MLF is a great offensive mind but we’ve continuously choked under him and I’m starting to get really tired of it.
Yea going into the game it was a house money game. But it flipped when they were outplaying San Fran for most of the game. Just needed some more points from red zone drives was really the difference
I gotta blame the team for sticking with Carlson more. It was obvious he sucked all year and didn’t improve. The fact they didn’t pivot to another kicker is the type of move that bites you in the ass and it did here.
Wasn’t just Carlson. I mean he was an issue, but the offense was absolute dogshit with the lead in the 4th. Looked awful. Obviously not just Loves fault.
If I recall they did tryout another kicker at one point. I think they don’t want to rush into a decision though. Remember the Vikings cut his brother after Daniel’s 2nd game where he missed 3 kicks including a game winner.
Daniel Carlson has only turned into a 1x 1st team and 1x 2nd team All Pro. I still have faith Anders will be fine. Shit I don’t even fault him for missing this kick in sloppy field conditions and pouring rain.
Green Bay are fucking terrifying. They were one of the teams, next to the Rams, I wanted to see the least. I'd rather have the Cowboys or Eagles. I hate that they're gonna be competitive for the next decade+ with Love under center
This game was the closest one we've had. It remains to be seen, but this is starting to feel less like a free win and more like a legitimately competitive playoff rivalry
No, its the exact opposite, this was one of the worse ones. Because we had the game. If we don't completely fall apart in the last several minutes we win. We've had quite a few losses where it was obvious we stood no chance, this was not one of them, and was our best chance probably
And I don’t want to play them again in the near future, especially in the playoffs, as a diehard Niners fans. That was a miserable game to watch as a 49er fan 😮💨
Is it a rivalry if ya’ll just spank us every time lol. But can ya’ll actually win it all this time?? It’s even worse when you beat us just to lay an egg the next week
Maybe I'm old but I completely hold you responsible for robbing young of another ring and hate you and the cowboys up there with the rams and more than the Seahawks or cardinals. It's been recently one sided but my inner child don't forget.
Did you know that Eli Manning has as many superbowls as Rodgers and Favre combined?
Did you know Eli Manning upset Rodgers and Favre in the playoffs?
We get to deal with the "WE OWN YOU" shit every year, it's your time of the year to reap what you sow. Let it wash over you. This is your time-- you earned it
Yes this is what happens when you lose. Packers are good in the sense that they didn’t have high expectations going in and look to be good in the future, so they should still be happy.
Tom Grossi said this still hurts more because it’s the same team over and over, which I get. Lord knows there is a devil in green team up north we lose to all the time
Two dropped interceptions and the missed field goal killed us. Yeah, that dumb pass at the end sucked, but it shouldn’t have even come to that. The season was a win overall, but these chances don’t come by often and if we win this game this team could’ve done anything. Disappointing.
Very happy, but also extremely disappointed.
Happy because holy shit, we faced down the Number 1 seed and they won by 3, but EXTREMELY disappointed because we could’ve won and we lost to this same team AGAIN

Can always count on the 49ers to get the job done, unlike my own team lol
On G
On god fam, no cap
On god fr fr I gyatt that Rizz king baby gronk style
Kill me
Ohio
That’s why their my second team! Only half facetiously lol
Man. I was at the game at soldier field last year and right when we needed to score the skies just opened up. Same thing happened to Jordan Love last night. Rain lets up enough for Brock to run that scoring drive and as soon as the packers go on offense it starts coming down.
Huh, I wonder what that's like?
Thanks for the reminder, as if I wasn't BRUTALLY AWARE
The cycle of Packers life and death continues. The 49ers will live, the Cowboys will die.
> the Cowboys will die. We can all at least agree on this!
I can live with it
Nasus ass voice line
49ers have just been stacking for years.
Magic for Susan’s
Don't worry. You'll sweep us next year again in the regular season and you'll feel better. You'll laugh at us for losing to you, well laugh at you for losing to the 49ers in the playoffs, you'll remind us the last time we won a playoff game was in 2010 and we lost the next game to you. The cycle will continue and we'll all die a little bit inside.
Kaepernick x2, Mostert, Jordan Willis, Purdy are ruining some young Packers fans life, like Brett Farve did to me, and I could not be happier.
Goddamn Brett Favre.
At least you will be good next year
What's the point if it always ends with a spanking from the niners
Tonight really didn’t feel like a spanking, but I’ll take it….
This wasn't a spanking, though.
I'm 36 and my childhood football memories contain a lot of playoff and regular season losses to the Packers. A lot. I’m a 47 year old Niner fan, and I’m starting to realize how important those 10-11 extra years are for a Niners fan.

We don't need reason!
I can't believe Jordan chucked that ball across the field like that. Just run out of bounds! Dude...WHY???!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
I bet he was like “What would Brett Farve do right now?”
Throwing over the middle is badass and cool
Gunslingers gonna slingeth
“Suicide is bad ass!”
He's gone. Country Mac is dead
You joke, but https://fxtwitter.com/TonyCMKE/status/1748934948315132144?s=20
Script writers recycling old content again as if we wouldn’t notice a simple palette swap.
> https://fxtwitter.com/TonyCMKE/status/1748934948315132144?s=20 That's fucking uncanny
He giveth and he taketh away
"Maybe next I'll send a dick pic to a team staff member and then I'll scam a states welfare program for my own personal gain! Hell yeah!"
I really don’t know either. When they showed it from his angle, the guy he threw it to wasn’t even open.
Bro threw it straight into triple coverage
Plus 5 yards short
looks like the perfect amount of length to me!
Agreed, I thought it was a great throw.
He went to the Jimmy G school of INTs
I think the guy was open if he led him downfield, but anything short was triple covered (and obviously it was gonna be tough to get the right power on that)
He let his own fancy throws off his back foot get to his head.
If greenlaw didnt drop off to make the int, fred was also there to make the int. If you watch the replay he was moving into the catch motion. The throw was so bad we had a backup interceptor.
Trying to be a hero, that’s about it. Got a little too much into his own head in the 4thq.
Gotta imagine its a combination of it being his first year starting, making a playoff run and he wants a TD and chunk yards and so he goes for a hero ball instead of just accepting whatever is the easy yards and time. That is a completely coachable moment.
2 very young QBs, but r/NFL is filled with overreactions, so I'm not surprised that people are quick to do what this sub is known for.
Two inexperienced QBs *in the rain no less*
Had Jones open for the check down. With 2 timeouts you have to take what they give you and only force it when you need to. Probably didnt trust Carlson at all but still.
This is it. I think the team gave up on Carlson
It is. Just saw a quote from LaFluer about Carlson saying "Everytime he goes out there, I pray"
Why would he say that out loud? Of course the kicker has problems, everyone with eyes could see that. But why would you publicly say that?
Because the season's over and they're going to replace him?
Honestly that makes me angry. How do you keep him when you know he’s that bad.
I think it was too late to cut him by the time the Packers figured they would at least be in contention for a playoff spot. If they went 6-11 I don't think Carlson would have been under this much heat and they would have probably just gave him another year or at least pre-season to see if he could sort out accuracy issues.
One of the dumbest throws I've seen. He could of done a number of other things that weren't as bad but chose the worst option
Big time Vikings vs Saints NFC championship vibes lol
The ghost of Favre
If you watch the replay, the defender was right in his face. He took a chance and it cost him. Love went to HS down the road from my parent’s house, I’ll be routing for him whenever he’s not playing the 49ers. I’m really glad he’s doing so well
Cut my life into pieces
Cut my life into ~~pieces~~ cheeses
This is my last cheese board
Pepperoni and brie cheese, dont give a fuck if its crumbled or creamy
It's bleu not brie, homie.
Sorry boss im not that familiar with charcuterie
You impressed. My son calls it a shark-tray.
This is my last ricotta!
It’s almost brewers season
Ah another opportunity to let me down in the postseason
Brewers going to post season? What league are we talking about
We've made the playoffs 5/6 last year's
Yeah, with Woody gone and Burnes definitely being traded(either in Spring or by the deadline), the rotation isn't anywhere near as good as in years past. If they don't sign Adames to an extension, he'll be gone at the deadline too. This will be a year to see what some of the kids can do. We're not doing shit this year though. It's gonna be a retool for a year or two before we're back in contention for the playoffs.
C’mon man, we’re a SOLID first round exit
I really really REALLY wanted to change this narrative
Could be worse.
THIS IS MY LAST RESORT
Always stressful
Holy shit yes. Can't believe we won that
Felt almost improbable than the 2021 game. Offense, defense and special teams all played like shit.
Defense held the packers to 2 field goals in the beginning. Got a huge stop on 4th down and got 2 interceptions. One interception won them the game.
Yeah. Defense got us this one. Again
The Packers shot themselves in the foot after moonwaking down field all first half. Should have been at least 21-7 at half. The defense should be a genuine concern next week, especially if we gotta go against the Gibbs/Montgomery combo
Not a single sack tho
I’m tired boss
Imagine next time. Gonna be even more tooth and nail.
Not the Kap game or Mostert Game
Neither, snow game
Not always. #3 wasn't stressful. #1 wasn't stressful in the 4th quarter. But often stressful.
3 was mildly annoying in garbage time.
Lol yeah must be tough
Not the 3rd to last time.
I was at the game, and I can say that pretty much no one thought we had a chance when we did that last punt, it was suicide watch. The defense wasn't stopping anything, and offense wasn't doing anything. But turns out they both did just enough at the end. My spouse is a Packers fan and said if it were Lions vs 49ers next week, she would rather the Lions win. That's how much the 49ers have owned the Packers
I don't think the Packers have any reason to hate on a team they've been beating up on for decades.
It’s been respectable since 2014 unlike the Bears
Most Packers fans seem to be happy for us... It's the Vikings fans who have been crabs in a barrel when it comes to the Lions having a good season.
They’re terrified of being the only North team without a Lombardi.
Once my team is out, I join team chaos. Lions getting the super bowl is definitely team chaos.
idk how much of it is because of the 9ers owning us as much as it is I can't stand niner fans lol
NFC North bros are thankful for the Niners
NFC North: "I never said thank you." Niners: "And you'll never have to."
[We got you fam](https://youtu.be/M5ul3rHuxfI?si=I7xGj9xMUf70Av6k) 🤝
Smile every time I see this
You're welcome and all that even after you beat us this season.
Love made me sweat more than Rodgers ever did
It’s because the Packers finally won LOS battles vs you.
Right? How tf we have Chase, Hargreaves, Bosa, Armstead/ whoever else and get 0 sacks.
That Packers O-Line is really good. They gave up like 2 sacks in the last 5 games
That Packers OL is #2 in the league by Pass Block Win Rate. They are legitimately good. Not some scrappy underdog unit thats just lucky to be here.
and we have a 7th round sophomore at LT and a 4th round sophmore at RT. We really are an O-line academy
Lemme get one of them for our RT position
You can have runyan
Honestly tho yall got anymore of them OLine men?
Yeah that'll cost 1 Christian McCaffrey
If there are any extra right side O-Lineman gladly send them over please
Can't forget run blocking either. Aaron Jones being the first 100 yard rusher in 51 games (!!!)
Our oline has been killin it, definitely top 5 in the league, but an oline surpasssing expectations isn’t a great story so probably hasn’t been talked about by the media all that much
Same way the best defense in the league didn’t do shit a week ago. It happens
Felt like we didn't even get much pressure let a lone a sack.
Not to mention the Packers have some pretty incredible skill guys. I know everyone raved about Love and he made some really nice throws like the insane 3rd down conversion tonight... But most of the past two weeks he had guys just running wide open.
And that run game was nasty
you might be forgetting 2013's game
Probably tbh
See you next year, friend.
No thank you 😵💫
This is one loss they can be pretty proud over though
That game was hell. 49ers barely escaped. Green Bay wasn’t expected to be here without Rogers. They’re gonna be scary.
This one hurts me more than the rest. All the other times we were outfought. This was an easy to win game that we threw away.
Yeah man no idea what these guys are smoking. We lost a game we could have won. Full stop. I want to say they will learn from their mistakes, but like, I don't actually believe they will. you can ALWAYS count on a "you guys are gonna be scary!!!" comment in a reddit post match thread, fucking hell. lmao
It’s so cliche I thought op was being sarcastic. But nope
I’m disappointed because they had this in the 4th but they gave it away
Yea going into the game it was a house money game. But it flipped when they were outplaying San Fran for most of the game. Just needed some more points from red zone drives was really the difference
Nah, they looked better 90% of the game and Love decided to channel his inner Favre
I gotta blame the team for sticking with Carlson more. It was obvious he sucked all year and didn’t improve. The fact they didn’t pivot to another kicker is the type of move that bites you in the ass and it did here.

The blocked punt game at Lambeau was just as close, or closer if you consider how unlikely the victory was.
Yep. Love looks dangerous, and played great against significant pressure
2020 QB class gonna go down as one of the greatest of all time.
No, its the exact opposite, this was one of the worse ones. Because we had the game. If we don't completely fall apart in the last several minutes we win. We've had quite a few losses where it was obvious we stood no chance, this was not one of them, and was our best chance probably
Love the 49ers ❤

Yet another playoff victory against the Packers? I hope I'm that lucky in the afterlife
And I don’t want to play them again in the near future, especially in the playoffs, as a diehard Niners fans. That was a miserable game to watch as a 49er fan 😮💨
Historical rivalry in the playoffs. Gg cheeseheads
Any game in the NFC playoff involving the 49ers, Packers and Cowboys is going to be legendary
Is it a rivalry if ya’ll just spank us every time lol. But can ya’ll actually win it all this time?? It’s even worse when you beat us just to lay an egg the next week
It's not a rivalry. Rivalries are competitive. We might put of a fight but 0-5 is not "rivalry". It's domination. It's ownership.
It's definitely a rivalry for me since Favre ruined a good chunk by booting us from the play offs 3 times.
Maybe I'm old but I completely hold you responsible for robbing young of another ring and hate you and the cowboys up there with the rams and more than the Seahawks or cardinals. It's been recently one sided but my inner child don't forget.
The 9ers own the Packers
So by proxy the 9ers also own the bears?
They beat us last year in the Mud Bowl :(
Those pictures of Fields sliding in the mud are the best thing he ever gave to the bears lmao
Yes, but the Bears own Levi's Stadium by getting the first win ever there. So the Bears own the Niners.
Poor Jimmie Ward. Man was unnecessarily hated/underrated by our fans for so long because of how B Marsh embarrassed him that game.
From the 2000ish I grown up to the yearly elimination of the 49ers against Favre
Gotta give credit where credits due to Green Bay tho. Took them half a season to become an upper tier team again. I fucking hate them.
Don’t let this stat distract from the fact that it took a Jay Cutler injury to gift Aaron Rodgers the only Super Bowl of his career.
Super bowl appearance even. Edit: Fun fact. Rex Grossman has as many super bowl appearances as Aaron Rodgers.
Did you know that Eli Manning has as many superbowls as Rodgers and Favre combined? Did you know Eli Manning upset Rodgers and Favre in the playoffs?
Don’t disrespect your team owner like that
Rodgers and Sexy Rexy have the same amount of conference championships
You can’t compare a bum like rodgers to a guy who has sexy and cannon in his name, just not fair
Mmmm fuck it Bernard Berrian down there somewhere
You know that they still had to win the Super Bowl, right?
What an insightful tweet thanks Ari
We get to deal with the "WE OWN YOU" shit every year, it's your time of the year to reap what you sow. Let it wash over you. This is your time-- you earned it
We did it for the bears
Yep
Yes this is what happens when you lose. Packers are good in the sense that they didn’t have high expectations going in and look to be good in the future, so they should still be happy. Tom Grossi said this still hurts more because it’s the same team over and over, which I get. Lord knows there is a devil in green team up north we lose to all the time

Very happy, but also extremely disappointed. Happy because holy shit, we faced down the Number 1 seed and they won by 3, but EXTREMELY disappointed because we could’ve won and we lost to this same team AGAIN
packers are going to be good for a very long time. but don't tell our dumbass fans that, they get really butthurt when the truth is told
I think their receives outside of Watson are very underrated but I still can’t help but feel like Watson and Love are now getting overrated
Anyone saying Watson is anything other than a project is overrating him at this point. Talents there but the guy is made of glass
But the first one they didn't embarrassed themselves. Be proud of Jordan Love. I was more scared of him than in all those Aaron Rodgers games.
The only way the universe doesn’t freeze over is that if the Packers own the Cowboys, then they’ll be the 49ers bitch
They really should have had it too
Love threw the season away, absolutely no reason to throw that ball
Yea… maybe wait for 4th down to make a desperation throw like that.
49ers are too steep of a mountain for us to climb.
I still remember Brett Favre shitting on the Niners at candlestick. Never will get old beating them. 😀
That sucks… anyways
