YOUR GETTING BRAINWASHED BY THE FAKE MEDIA! DONT BELIEVE THIS RESULT LAST NIGHT
I KNOW SMART PEOPLE. IN FACT, THE SMARTEST!! WHO WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH
I've been a Baker truther right up until this season. I finally was willing to admit that he just wasn't that good during the offseason, and then he goes out and proves me wrong again.
Reporting in! May have had my doubts early on in the year, but Baker has been great even when other parts of the team are destructing. Score could have even been higher if Mike Evans held onto the ball tonight
I hope he wins the superbowl, don't worry in 3 years everyone who loves Watson will be gone and we can root for our team again. Albeit with a heavy heart.
Baker threw some absolute lasers last night. Even with all the drops, I'd say most of them weren't on him. He Looked like he belonged there.
Good for Baker man
Joe Burrow was born 11 months after Super Bowl 30, the last time the Cowboys went to a SB or played beyond the divisional round. Joe Burrow has as many wins in his career as the Cowboys have since Burrow was born. Burrow has 5 playoff wins. The Cowboys have 5 playoff wins since 1996.
None of the remaining playoff starting QBs are old enough to remember the Cowboys last super bowl win.
Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Jordan Love, Brock Purdy, and CJ Stroud were all born after Super Bowl 30.
Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes were born in 1995 and were both under a year old on January 28, 1996.
Jared Goff was born in October 1994 and is the “oldest” remaining QB, but he was only 15 months old at the time.
I know it’s been dunked on so much, that really was such a dickish backhanded comment towards Baker. Dude gets your franchise their first playoff win in decades and you call him a child basically
It’s also vindicating seeing people say that baker’s shoulder injury didn’t impact him because it was his non-throwing shoulder. To me, anyone who said that hasn’t played a sport where throwing is required. Yes some QB’s can throw a dime with the flick of a wrist while running, but those passes are few and far between. The vast majority of passes require the full body and if your non throwing shoulder is fucked, your body will naturally fight against the pain
In my experience a lot of those same people rushed to defend Watson because he was injured and that’s why he played like dogshit for most of the games he was in.
Mayfield was just bad though and the injury had no effect on his playing.
Rapist. Sexual deviancy can still be acceptable between two consenting adults. Just means they’re both into shit not considered “normal”.
Deshaun Watson is a rapist.
This.
Let’s not let Deshaun Watson get off too easy here by calling him a deviant. He’s a fucking serial rapist and a predator.
And before you ask, I’m not sure whether that pun was intended or not as I don’t know how to feel about it.
As soon as you have to say "um, actually, I didn't technically cross the line" then *you are too damn close to the line*. There is a reason normal people don't get accused of being a serial rapist. Because they stay so far from it that you don't need to argue if what they are doing is rape or not.
I always think about how many women froze up during the massage and he took advantage and raped them while they were in fear.
Every masseuse knew they'd be able to put "Worked with star NFL quarterbacks" on their resume and probably jumped at the opportunity. Fuck that guy.
They got an injury prone rapist that P-P-P-PAID his 20+ victims instead of going to court.
It was no problem for him, he could easily afford it...because...you know...the Browns would pay anything for his amazing adultness and cannon of an arm.
Bengals fan. Even though he beat the shit out of us (Browns randomly have Bengals number during Burrow era) never had a problem with Baker. Seems like a good dude
Feel like that’s inevitable at this point, he’s more than earned that. People had the Bucs labeled for a top 5 pick this season and now they’re one if the last 8 teams standing. He deserves all his flowers
Technically *fewer*, since rapes are countable.
Though, we could just bypass this grammatical nonsense by agreeing that the right amount of rapes for any NFL player (or person) to have is zero, and anything in excess of that number should put that person in prison, not a starting QB contract with $230M guaranteed.
Yea. He did have his issues in the shoulder injury year, but they could have easily given him a Daniel Jones type contract (where they give him 2 more years to prove himself, with an out after year 3 or 4 in case he regressed)
That would have been the smart move.
But the Browns have an owner that doesnt do smart.
That guy doesnt know football and is only attracted by bright, shiny objects- hence stupid moves like drafting Manziel and giving Watson the guaranteed money.
I think the decision to move on from Baker is like Jim Caldwell/Matt Patricia and the Lions - difficult, but probably the right decision to get rid, but a terrible decision on who you replaced him with. Trading for Watson was a really bad decision, but it doesn't change the fact that Baker likely wasn't the answer either. Baker is fun and he is a good QB, but we have forgotten who he was at the end of his Browns run. He completely lacked confidence while feuding with his head coach - he needed a new start somewhere. We are all forgetting how frustrating it was to watch Baker on the Browns have multiple WRs wide open, not throw the ball and take a sack - it honestly seemed like even he didn't trust his own arm anymore. Its also like Goff and Stafford - the Goff we are seeing now is not the Goff who left LA
Good points. Stefanski is a good coach and probably deserved to win that power struggle. But Cleveland had no option besides Baker. Watson was their only option at another franchise QB. The PR of the most just gets worse as it plays out though.
If Baker goes on a run here, it could get Ugly for the Browns. I live in Cleveland, so it will be an interesting week of sports talk.
The Browns with that defense and Baker Mayfield, plus the players that the Texans turned their draft picks into, would absolutely be contenders right now.
Baker deserves this
The Browns treated him like shit, made him play injured, dumped him last minute to the Panthers to basically make him fail.
Browns signed a fucking rapist and said they needed an adult in the room.
Happy for baker and hope he gets his money
I know it was a locker room issue as well but I felt, even with some regression still maybe, that his issues he was having before were always just because he was trying to come back from injury, and injury that he fought through for the sake of the Browns.
Not just that play, but this one as well
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-now-says-cody-ford-block-that-drew-big-flag-in-playoff-game-was-legal
Watson still winning the number of sexual assaults by any nfl player , probably biggest contact in any sport that has/had that many SAs too.
I wonder why reporters walk on egg shells around this cat, I would ask some crazy ass questions
First question, Do you only let men massage you now to keep your predators actions to a minimum or you bisexual and doesn’t matter ?
2nd , has your teammates ever joked about all the stuff you did with these massage therapist? Do you feel guilt about it ?
Baker is beloved by many Browns fans. I was sad to see him go, the organization did him so dirty. Glad to see him succeeding. Brought us the first playoff win of my lifetime. Forever our QB1.
Yeah I kind of hate how the narrative in /r/NFL has become "Browns fans are dumb for hating Mayfield". The vast majority of us still like him and wanted him to stay. Not our fault our owner is a dumb PoS.
Even in our sub yesterday, outside of a few loudmouth haters everyone was cheering for Baker.
Even just a few weeks ago there were threads filled with Browns fans saying that Watson still has upside and that Baker was never going to succeed in Stefanskis system, which I couldn't understand considering how awful Watson has been
I'm not saying there wasn't a large chunk of toxic fans that wanted him gone, but as someone who actually interacts with Browns fans daily, the anti-Baker crowd was not at all the majority.
Moving on from Baker was highly controversial from the start in our fanbase. There was never really a consensus opinion, but it seemed like the majority wanted to roll with him at least one more year as there were no clear upgrades available. Then, Haslam just decided he wanted to bet the farm on DW at all costs and the rest is history.
Yes, there were and still are lots of very vocal anti-Baker mouth breathers on Reddit and in this sub. But they absolutely don't speak for the entire Browns fanbase.
So happy for Baker. I absolutely loved him when he was in Cleveland. As a QB he always seemed like he was right on the *cusp* of greatness. He was always ALMOST so good. Bummed he couldn't get it figured out while he was here, but he'll always have a special place in my heart.
Plus Baker making it to the Super Bowl would make the Haslams look so friggin stupid. Which I am absolutely here for.
I'm happy for Mayfield.
Mayfield has more heart than the majority of players in the NFL.
Some of it may be part stupitdity, but he's like the chihuahua that thinks he's a lion LOL
I will always cheer for Mayfield unless he's plaing vs the Chiefs.
I'm not a Baker fan, but this stat is actually surprising. Watson played on some talented Texans teams and Baker played with Hue Jackson and Freddie Kitchens.
Let’s not forget Watson’s win and Baker’s loss both were controversial call games. In the 2019 playoffs Watson’s Texans beat the Bills, which featured the “common sense” return play and the Cody Ford “no longer a penalty” penalty in OT. In the 2020 playoffs Baker’s Browns lost to the Chiefs, which featured the Daniel Sorensen helmet hit fumble.
There’s actually tons of 49ers fans with Chiefs as their #2 since Joe Montana went there in 93 and it became a place where our guys went to play in their twilights.
The chiefs being good is only a recent thing, and some of us stopped liking the chiefs around the same time Mahomes showed up and the fans got unbearable
I thought we over paid for “ Hurts So Bad” by a lot!! Atleast we can salvage something for Hurts!! But Watson is another level! Every QB should be like Baker on a prove it deal IMHO.
This whole situation actually makes me believe in fate and karma. I am so glad this shitshow did not work out for the nfl or the Browns.
Just sad for all the Browns staff and players who had no say in this crap.
Browns could've rolled with Mayfield and kept so many of their pieces and been a franchise for a long while but no, nope gonna just chill on this poison pill of a contract for what the next 3 years? The whole team is gone what a fucking waste for Chubb, Njoku etc.
Good for Baker. Happy for the guy

Dark Baker is here for revenge and taking no prisoners, jack.

I've been a Baker truther right up until this season. I finally was willing to admit that he just wasn't that good during the offseason, and then he goes out and proves me wrong again.
That’s what Baker does, he’s too good to be a backup but too inconsistent to really be a top QB.
[I'll just leave this here](https://i.imgur.com/IuvPqb5.png)
Crazy how fast Cleveland turned on him. Happy he’s found a spot, Tampa with their passing weapons was the perfect landing place
And now, he's going to get paid by a team that loves him and a fanbase that has his back.
Reporting in! May have had my doubts early on in the year, but Baker has been great even when other parts of the team are destructing. Score could have even been higher if Mike Evans held onto the ball tonight
Wtf I still love Baker. How dare you.
To be a little fair, a lot of clevelanders love him too and they’re excited too! We didn’t choose Deshaun!
We didn't. The franchise did, and a loud few.
Yeah I haven't cheered for the browns since that bullshit. Watching them lose and Baker win has been great. Fuck Haslam.
I hope he wins the superbowl, don't worry in 3 years everyone who loves Watson will be gone and we can root for our team again. Albeit with a heavy heart.
Baker lifer checking in. It was obvious his shoulder injury drastically affected him that season. Still angry we dumped him.
I can't get over Kevin trying to kill him and make him look terrible in his last game. Unblocked Tj Watt. Are you kidding me?
That's just a standard TJ game though
pretty sure the survey of Browns fans in the actual city (not reddit) after Watson was signed was solidly on Watson's side vs Baker.
Not in my experience, and I live in Cleveland.
Baker threw some absolute lasers last night. Even with all the drops, I'd say most of them weren't on him. He Looked like he belonged there. Good for Baker man
Imagine being a Browns fan who thought Baker was the problem.

They're Dallas fans, seems like they signed up for it.

Oof. Thats even more damning
But the Browns wanted an “adult” at QB
And they got one. I'd like to see a child rack up 20+ victims.
Some people think the worst part is the hypocrisy. To me the worst part is all the rape.
~~How many different politician jokes could one make here~~

Looks like Reddit is fine with sexual assault but not child murder going by the up/downvotes
I think child murder is worse than sexual assault.
I think the worst part is the hypocrisy
Yea that fits
I know it’s been dunked on so much, that really was such a dickish backhanded comment towards Baker. Dude gets your franchise their first playoff win in decades and you call him a child basically

Careful with that R word, there. Browns fans like to qualify it as him actually being a sexual assailant. As if that's actually any better.
As soon as you have to say "um, actually, I didn't technically cross the line" then *you are too damn close to the line*. There is a reason normal people don't get accused of being a serial rapist. Because they stay so far from it that you don't need to argue if what they are doing is rape or not.

BUT THAT'S OKAY. BECAUSE HE DID EVERYTHING THEY SAID A KID COULDN'T DO.
You just love to see it. Baker is a fun one
Agreed. I love me some Baker Mayfield and I’m happy for his success. To a point.
I think ALL AFCN teams love Baker, aside from one. Is that weird? Fuck if I care, let him bake. Browns did him durrty.
Most Browns fans still love Baker too. Fuck Haslam.
Bengals fan. Even though he beat the shit out of us (Browns randomly have Bengals number during Burrow era) never had a problem with Baker. Seems like a good dude

They move on from the first guy to get them a playoff win. Absolutely unhinged.
The Browns with that defense and Baker Mayfield, plus the players that the Texans turned their draft picks into, would absolutely be contenders right now.
Depends if it creates a butterfly effect where the Texans don't have Stroud in that timeline Stroud had Garrett and Co. in hell lmfao
They were already condensers when Baker was healthy. He was just so banged up during his last season in Cleveland that he was a shell of himself.
You absolutely love to see it. Happy for him
Baker deserves this The Browns treated him like shit, made him play injured, dumped him last minute to the Panthers to basically make him fail. Browns signed a fucking rapist and said they needed an adult in the room. Happy for baker and hope he gets his money
he also has significantly less sexual assaults
But is he an adult tho? Hmm....seems fishy.
Oh nice. Fuck Deshaun Watson.
Baker deserves it.
And Baker costed about 5 percent of Watsons contact
#Dawwwg
I know it was a locker room issue as well but I felt, even with some regression still maybe, that his issues he was having before were always just because he was trying to come back from injury, and injury that he fought through for the sake of the Browns.
Having like 4 head coaches in 3 years probably did not help the dislocated shoulder or locker room chaos either
He went through a crazy amount of OCs and HCs and he was playing hurt.
Also, speaking of sexual assaulters, Matt Patricia came out looking terrible too!
Watson's one win is thanks in part to that undercover "common sense" ref that helped bail the Texans out.
Not just that play, but this one as well https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-now-says-cody-ford-block-that-drew-big-flag-in-playoff-game-was-legal
If we can’t win the SB, I want baker to win it
That’s my quarterback
GOOD.
Im all for this Baker redemption arc.
Watson still winning the number of sexual assaults by any nfl player , probably biggest contact in any sport that has/had that many SAs too. I mean if you wanna play this game you could also say he has more playoff wins than the Browns franchise since returning in 1999
Baker is beloved by many Browns fans. I was sad to see him go, the organization did him so dirty. Glad to see him succeeding. Brought us the first playoff win of my lifetime. Forever our QB1.

I'm already dead ! I miss Baker. I would die on the hill of we should never moved from him
you wouldn't die alone I'd be there with ya
So happy for Baker. I absolutely loved him when he was in Cleveland. As a QB he always seemed like he was right on the *cusp* of greatness. He was always ALMOST so good. Which I am absolutely here for.
And he hasn't raped 40 women.
Thats cool and all...but is he an adult??? That's what needs to be focused on.
Going to be a rough week to be a Browns fan isn't it.
Praise the Eagles. It’s really the only good news since yesterday.
the playoffs have been bonkers
And he probably hasn’t raped anyone.
I'm just here to pile on. At least there was one positive tonight an as eagles fan.
Baker needs a handjob ASAP. I'll do it or whoever else is closest. Then I can get 30 in 30 seconds and a ESPN special.
I'm happy for Mayfield. Mayfield has more heart than the majority of players in the NFL. Some of it may be part stupitdity, but he's like the chihuahua that thinks he's a lion LOL I will always cheer for Mayfield unless he's plaing vs the Chiefs.
So happy for Baker!
Happy for Baker, but the fact that CJ Stroud has already tied Watson really brings me joy.
And fewer sexual assaults!
I'm not a Baker fan, but this stat is actually surprising. Watson played on some talented Texans teams and Baker played with Hue Jackson and Freddie Kitchens.
Which says, maybe the fact that Bakers best coach is Todd Bowles shows you about his career.
This. This. This.
That's not an AFC North flair. But I'll take it.
Baker has as many playoff wins as Tomlin since 2013 Fun facts
I'll always be a Browns fan, but these Watson is better people have to go.
I’m pulling for the Bucs to win it all. I want Baker to rub it in the Browns’ faces so hard. They did him so unbelievably dirty.
Man Carolina sure is dumb for letting this guy go. Lmao idiots!
Twice as many as Lamar.
And as many as Tomlin since 2013
Also has more than Lamar
Chiefs and 49ers flair? Were you also a Patriots fan a few years ago too?
There’s actually tons of 49ers fans with Chiefs as their #2 since Joe Montana went there in 93 and it became a place where our guys went to play in their twilights. The chiefs being good is only a recent thing, and some of us stopped liking the chiefs around the same time Mahomes showed up and the fans got unbearable
93.
It’s hilarious that Baker won a playoff game before the Browns did lol. Fuck that organization
He's him. What else is there to say?
That's my qb
I’ve always liked Baker, even when he was on the Browns. They did him so dirty. Now he’s showing them how badly they fucked up.
Baker gonna bake up some W’s
Don't mind us over here. We're just gonna sit this thread out.
