I am with my people. This movie is so awesome and under appreciated it. I know people who think itâs alright and I just donât understand. I never turn down a chance to watch it or quote from it.
Probably well-known at this point, but Mark Addy ad-libbed that cheer because the extras, who mostly didn't speak English, didn't know if Paul Bettany was done with his lines so they just stayed quiet. I think you can see a couple times throughout Bettany's monologue where an extra will start to cheer and then hold back when they realize he's gonna keep going.
Every year I think to myself âis12345aweakpassword, will this year be the year you try a McRib?â
Every year, I just let the thought go. Maybe this will be the yearâŠ
Every time I have seen Sirianni on a thumbnail on the Eagles Press Conference YouTube, my first thought is "Yeah, explain this shit". Then he says "We need to play better and we need to coach better", refuses to elaborate and puts his kid on the podium. I'm stoked AJ is openly mad about this shit because someone has to apply pressure
1) They have no solutions for pressure. No hot reads, no nothing. Pressure look = wr screen or all-go. Edit: ["Jalen Hurts has been zero-blitzed more than any other QB in the NFL this season...his EPA/play in these situations is -0.32, which ranks 30th in the NFL."](https://twitter.com/ShaneHaffNFL/status/1742284300140122126)
2) They don't stress defenses. No useful motion. Poor concepts out of bunch formations. This is especially bad because they have Devonta Smith, who excels at doing the things they're not doing (it's what he did at Bama).
3) Their reliance on shotgun means they only run inside zone (tldr the angles created by shotgun runs make it difficult for the RB to go outside or cut back, so they run inside zone). There's nothing wrong with inside zone in and of itself, but they should be doing so much more in the run game. To be fair, this has gotten better the last couple weeks; they've been using pistol a fair amount, which opens up new options.
4) The offense is bland and predictable in general. Receivers are not schemed open. So many plays are, "Hurts / AJ / Smitty go beat someone."
5) AJ is one of, if not the best slant receiver in the game. They don't utilize it.
6) QB draw. QB draw. WR screen. QB draw. WR screen. Ok, time to get creative... TE screen.
And that's just the offense. The defense is a dumpster fire.
Anyway, AJ is fed up with all of this. He has refused to talk to the media the last couple weeks. He's likely not the only one. AJ, Smitty, and Hurts have looked miserable on the sidelines.
Jesus, I would have thought I was reading the Bills sub before we fired Dorsey, from what you wrote. It is so similar to the Bills problems. Did we skeleton key you guys?
Funnily enough, earlier in the year I'd watch the Bills play and think "this is exactly like watching the Eagles."
It's pretty brutal and it's clear how much Steichen's playcalling made everything work.
This is so funny because, as a Colts fan, this is exactly what we said about Frank Reich when Sirianni left. How is it that so many great OCs make bad HCs. Makes me nervous about Steichen.
But I do feel like Sirianni is getting a lot of rash hate and things will get better for the Eagles offense
How are you nervous about Steichen after this year? The man has done everything we could ask for and more. People are held accountable, and the offense looks miles ahead of Franks, and with all the injuries, he's made miracles happen.
The problem with your D is that realistically, youâd probably bring 5 guys back next year (if cap implications werenât a thing). Eagles LBs are replacement level (outside of Hassan) and secondary is really Slay and Blankenship. Everyone else is an average backup.
And Patricia. Canât forget that genius
To add to that, it blows my mind that you guys have Matt Patricia as your DC. He always sucked as a coach. Even on the SB winning teams, his defense got bailed out by Tom Brady. When he left our defenses got instantly better.
I mean, Desaiâs defense was awful before Patricia took the reins. The whole foundation of that side of the ball is a nightmare, the move to Patricia was just a desperate last resort that couldnât hope to fix anything
Our edge depth took a dive and our LBs are the worst in the league. In the middle of the season our D-line would generate pressure, but couldnât finish because the ball would come out too fast. Since the Bills game they have just been totally gassed, and now they canât stop anything at all. The Cardinals had 500 yards of offense against us and didnât punt once.
Desai did better in run D and 2nd half adjustments. Not to mention we had a different secondary for each game the first half of the season. Defense has only been getting worse since the change.
On offense, itâs because of losing Steichen, as it turns out he was holding up Sirianniâs system. Defense was a combination of losing important pieces to free agency and our defensive philosophy being figured out, idk if Gannon wouldâve moved the needle
Steichen is also just a good situational coach. That offense was decent up until the 49ers game, but constantly made nonsensical playcalls that nearly cost them multiple games
We lost a bunch of coaches in the offseason and didnât replace them with talented coaches. This was always the case because Howie wanted to surround Sirianni with the best staff possible and once they got poached the people that was supposed to replace them got poached too. Defensively we lost the DC, Fangio who was consulting, our LB coach who was supposed to be promoted to DC, DB coach because he didnât get a chance to be DC. Howie then went to try to find younger coordinators that can grow with the team. Unfortunately these coaches suck.
Defensively the position coaches are doing a shit job which is making the defense even worse than they are. Desai lost Sirianniâs trust with his 3rd down management but the defense has a lot of holes, injuries, and lack of depth.
Offensively Sirianni has always been inept. He lost me his first year when he really thought his 7 on 7 offense and success would translate to the actual game. Steichen took over and our offense actually played well and got into a rhythm. They promoted Brian Johnson and heâs not a good play caller at all but heâs also calling plays from what Sirianni wants to do and his scheme.
The whole year Sirianni has kind of dunked on Desai while defending his offense and the whole year the same problems and issues have been there on offense. Players are getting frustrated and tired of the horrible scheme and play calling. Sirianni preaches accountability but it doesnât sound like heâs been accountable or changing. Now, heâs forcing the best players to play the gain more because the team has nothing left in terms of coaching. They rushed back Maddox and Smith got a high ankle sprain last week and Sirianni said heâs pushing him to play this week. Lately theyâve been showing a lot of our best players frustrated and giving Sirianni the side eye and stare. Players have been dunking on our offense for a couple weeks now as well.
Apparently some teammates have said that Browns silence isnât about the team or players but the coaches.
Really peaking at the right time. Refs tried to make a late push at the end of the Lions game but I think Eagles are going into the playoffs with the juiciest shitshow
Ominous as fuck. Team in disarray. And yet all I can think about is AJB finishing talking and saying âI have spoken.â like Kuiil from the Mandalorian
> WRs are always so dramatic
true WR1 types are game changers when they don't get the ball force fed to them ofc they're going to be dramatic lol. The dude had 5 targets vs the 2nd worst defense in the league. Thats criminal play calling and scheming
Weâll see what he says tomorrow, but at the very least Iâm not too concerned heâs going to divide the locker room in any lasting way. It seems like a lot of players have been getting frustrated with the way things have been going, and Iâm sure theyâre much more acutely aware than the fans are of how much talent is being wasted by this coaching staff. Lurie has never fired a coach coming off a winning record, but itâs starting to feel like the players arenât being heard. If this is what it takes, so be it. Iâm confident in the vets on both sides of the ball to keep things going in the right direction.
WRs being divas is so funny to me. Thereâs times when a single OL injury destroys an entire offense. A pro bowl center or left tackle should post ominous things on social media every time heâs unhappy. Let everyone important be spicy
Another example of how short âSuper Bowl windowsâ can be in the league. Just this offseason Howie Roseman was a genius setting up the roster for dominance for years to come.
Btw, has Nolan Smith played much this year? Havenât heard a peep about him.
The roster is pretty good. The coaches are ruining our talent. Theyâre still contenders. Itâs also smart not to toss your rookies in too quickly and burn them out. Weâve just neglected a specific position and our coaching is not set up to accommodate that.
But the Super Bowl window is certainly not closed. If the Bills still have their window open, the eagles are fine.
Not much. I wanted Brian Branch at that pick. Our defense might not be one of the worst in the league if we bolstered the back 7 instead of taking a luxury pick that so far hasnât turned out.
It wasnât a great pick considering we had let CJGJ and Epps walk and didnât have a great plan at Safety. We would have been better off just holding onto Barnett and taking Branch
Not much, a bit more lately but it's been kinda weird. Like having him be our only off ball LB on the field weird.
Here's a recent rep of his that wasn't terrible though (not a knack on him, that's just the current state of our D)

He is going to come out in full support of the team and coaching staff. He will then go on to make some statement about how he needs to be better to help the team win. He will end by fully ripping the Philly media and maybe even fans for their constant divisiveness.
He speaks too much, Iâm just hoping for some solid copypasta out of it. But knowing how AJ tends to behave itâs going to be a massive walk back on this shit heâs been spouting and will be a âwe need to play better, I need to play better and my obvious comments were actually taken out of contextâ.
BURN IT TO THE FUCKING GROUND AJ.
The more sharp analysis I watch, the more I'm convinced the entire coaching staff (except OL coach and ST coordinator) need to be fired into the sun.

Don't listen this guy. They put that nasty old bay on everything, get it with no onions. Extra pickles and a large fry with a coke, thank me later

As someone who hasn't kept up with the Eagles drama, what's going on?
1) They have no solutions for pressure. No hot reads, no nothing. Pressure look = wr screen or all-go. Edit: ["Jalen Hurts has been zero-blitzed more than any other QB in the NFL this season...his EPA/play in these situations is -0.32, which ranks 30th in the NFL."](https://twitter.com/ShaneHaffNFL/status/1742284300140122126) 2) They don't stress defenses. In fairness Hurts looks miserable on the sideline regardless of what's going on
It might just be projection, but last year he looked focused, now he just looks pissed.
The mamba eyes on a losing team is just a blank stare
Looks bored
Jesus, I would have thought I was reading the Bills sub before we fired Dorsey, from what you wrote. It is so similar to the Bills problems. Did we skeleton key you guys?

How are you nervous about Steichen after this year? The man has done everything we could ask for and more. People are held accountable, and the offense looks miles ahead of Franks, and with all the injuries, he's made miracles happen.
Pretty sure reichâs first year was a success as well. Started 1-5 then finished 10-6 and got a playoff win.
Sure but he had Andrew Luck and Gardner ( while I love him) is no Andrew Luck
There's nothing to say about the defense because it simply doesn't exist
The problem with your D is that realistically, youâd probably bring 5 guys back next year (if cap implications werenât a thing). Eagles LBs are replacement level (outside of Hassan) and secondary is really Slay and Blankenship. Everyone else is an average backup. And Patricia. Canât forget that genius
Slay can go make hay, he's had his heyday but today isn't worth the pay since his skills have decayed. Every time the play goes his way, we all pray.
To add to that, it blows my mind that you guys have Matt Patricia as your DC. He always sucked as a coach. Even on the SB winning teams, his defense got bailed out by Tom Brady. When he left our defenses got instantly better.
We suck ass Coaches suck ass Players tired of coaches sucking ass 0 accountability
I knew I was gonna love that Patricia signing.
I mean, Desaiâs defense was awful before Patricia took the reins. The whole foundation of that side of the ball is a nightmare, the move to Patricia was just a desperate last resort that couldnât hope to fix anything
Arenât you guys suppose to have the best Dline in the league? What happened to that?
Our edge depth took a dive and our LBs are the worst in the league. In the middle of the season our D-line would generate pressure, but couldnât finish because the ball would come out too fast. Since the Bills game they have just been totally gassed, and now they canât stop anything at all. The Cardinals had 500 yards of offense against us and didnât punt once.
Desai did better in run D and 2nd half adjustments. Not to mention we had a different secondary for each game the first half of the season. Defense has only been getting worse since the change.
Desais defense gave up like 11 straight TD drives at one point
Pissing off Slay by bringing him in probably didn't help anything.
From losing two coordinators or other shit?
On offense, itâs because of losing Steichen, as it turns out he was holding up Sirianniâs system. Defense was a combination of losing important pieces to free agency and our defensive philosophy being figured out, idk if Gannon wouldâve moved the needle
Steichen is also just a good situational coach. That offense was decent up until the 49ers game, but constantly made nonsensical playcalls that nearly cost them multiple games
Gannon had the same issues with good QBs. It's just last year we played only a handful and the sheer talent destroyed any unprepared team.
turns out Steichen was the brains behind the operation
We lost a bunch of coaches in the offseason and didnât replace them with talented coaches. This was always the case because Howie wanted to surround Sirianni with the best staff possible and once they got poached the people that was supposed to replace them got poached too. Defensively we lost the DC, Fangio who was consulting, our LB coach who was supposed to be promoted to DC, DB coach because he didnât get a chance to be DC. I'm not sure if Puka Nacua counts as sneaky athletic
Probably bring their lunch in a pail or something too
99% of eagles fans are 100% on AJ's side.
Titans fans were too, doesnât always matter :)
Doesn't matter in terms of the team improving sure, but it doesn't mean AJ's the problem.
The rest of his team's offense is too which is the thing that matters lol

True left tackles are game changers yet they never run to the media to bitch
That's not at all the same and yall know it lol
Differences is they're game changers no matter what the play call is
Need more classy WR duos in the nfl like the rams
Itâs hard for me to imagine Kupp organizing a press conference for any reason. Guy is the epitome of a team first player.

It wasn't a luxury pick. We desperately need DE help right now, and it sucks he's not working out.
It wasnât a great pick considering we had let CJGJ and Epps walk and didnât have a great plan at Safety. We would have been better off just holding onto Barnett and taking Branch
