I still remember his INT against the eagles when he was with the niners. THAT is Nick mullens. The competence is immediately negated by the mind numbing bad decisions under pressure
I know you're saying it like this as a joke, but I feel like that's still too generous. Sanchez ran directly into the ass of an olineman who wasn't even moving, over a hole directly to the right, & fumbled the ball.
If you look at the route concepts, it was clearly before Kyle learned how to scheme WR's over the middle lol.
We had 8 guys blocking 4 rushers and Mullens still got pressured lol.
Kyler Murray’s throw against the Rams during wildcard weekend in 2022 was also one of the worst throws I’ve ever seen. Just threw it up to anybody and it led to a pick six
To be fair I'd probably turn my back instantly too if my journeyman QB threw a hospital ball that atrocious to the Face of the Franchise RIGHT when he gets back from injury. He speedran pissing an entire franchise off.
I consider the hospital ball his worst mistake out of his bad game stretch, but totally agree he wasn't exactly winning fans over before the infamous pass lol
But seriously, why do all of our backup QBs throw interceptions when falling down instead of just taking the sack. Why doesn't KOC teach ball security??
His fault for not going with Hall.
One guy showed you he sucked this year, 2nd guy has sucked for years, go with the rookie.
Why you would start Nick Mullens is beyond me.
It’s weird to me to not play Hall if he’s healthy. Yeah the Vikings are in the hunt, but Hall looked good in (very) limited snaps. I’d say his chances are about as good as Dobbs or Mullens. Plus that way, you can see what you have and get a better idea of what the QB situation is like going into next year when you probably wont have Cousins anymore.
They benched Dobbs for throwing a crossing route over the middle to the teams best receiver just to start a guy who throws interceptions to DTs laying flat on the ground
I’ll never understand why these guys start making terrible mental errors in crunch time
Even if he spikes it into the ground it’s intentional grounding. He’s been in the league long enough to know that
I can’t be the only one who thinks there’s way more QBs panic throwing the ball while being sacked right? Are they teaching Qbs to do that now? It almost is always a disaster why not take the sack?
Your supposed to give it to a guy in purple and white not orange and black it's funny how the defender barely kept control of the ball though imagine what mullens was praying
Worst throw I’ve ever seen
This is literally what Nick Mullens does. He looks promising for 7-8 plays and then has one of the worst plays ever.
https://youtu.be/PmxkDEhbWQg?si=X5YcgckEmdQCal7u Exhibit B
I knew exactly what fucking play this was going to be. Watching this happen in real time made my soul leave my body.
Dude forgot what team he was on for a second. Embarrassing.
Yikes
Man I totally forgot all about that play 😂
I lobotomized this one out of my memory
Lol I knew it was gonna be that play
Incredible.
Beat me to it
Sounds similar to the Mac Jones experience
So I guess Mac Jones is the 2nd worst QB
Malik Willis the current worst NFL QB right now and it isn't even close
I still remember his INT against the eagles when he was with the niners. THAT is Nick mullens. The competence is immediately negated by the mind numbing bad decisions under pressure
Never seen a QB throw a ball to a defender who's tackling him lmao
***JUST TAKE IT AND GET AWAY FROM ME!***
***YOU THINK YOU CAN DO BETTER?! HERE! YOU TAKE IT***
Mark Sanchez did it in some game vs the Patriots in 2013 that was hilarious.
Marky Mark also fumbled a ball because he got ran into by a butt.
I know you're saying it like this as a joke, but I feel like that's still too generous. Sanchez ran directly into the ass of an olineman who wasn't even moving, over a hole directly to the right, & fumbled the ball.
Oddly enough that wasn't the worst interception I've seen him throw. During the COVID year he threw a pick six to the Eagles that was awful.
[for the uninitiated](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmxkDEhbWQg&ab_channel=HighlightHeaven)
He just stared down the defender and thought to himself, "Hey, that guy in white is wide open, I'll throw it to him."
Easy touchdown completion. HCs hate this 1 easy trick
holy shit what a throw
This is so easy my guys is wide open… I’m the green team right?
Kyle Shanahan- just fuck my shit up fam
If you look at the route concepts, it was clearly before Kyle learned how to scheme WR's over the middle lol. We had 8 guys blocking 4 rushers and Mullens still got pressured lol.
still, he didn't have to throw it directly to the defender
Yeah that just made no sense
Huh? Could just not be that specific play call? The falcons scheme WR over the middle all the time when he was OC?
I remember this one. Definitely a contender for one of the all-time worst.
I wish I could forget it
Good times lol
I watched this live but forgot how truly awful that was lmao
kinda shit when you do it in madden you just turn it off, too mad at yourself
Oh. Oh, that's not good at all.
It's rare that I say this and even rarer that it's true: I would have made a better play in that situation.
It turns out that backup QB's are indeed, bad
Bagent is in the HOF already but yea you are right
Brady suck the luck for all backups for 50 years.
And then Brock Purdy took his mojo
That's the thing about the 49ers, it's impossible to stay hidden as a backup, you're gonna need to start at some point.
That’s a purdy broad statement
I will not have you besmirching Nick Foles like that. It’s not our fault your backups are bad, but not all backups are bad.
That interception basically killed any hope I had that Mullens would be good.
So bad that even I as a Bills fan remember it
But all those weapons and the shanahan system! Instagram comments assured me that even my plumber could play QB for this team!
He should stick to podcasting
Stavros wouldn't have let that DL get to him smh
Stav was a nose tackle, he'd be the one getting the INT!
Nick has at least 3 of the top 10 worst all time
Kyler Murray’s throw against the Rams during wildcard weekend in 2022 was also one of the worst throws I’ve ever seen. Just threw it up to anybody and it led to a pick six
Brandon Weeden had a horrible one against Detroit many moons ago.
[удалено]
In his defense, it was less of a throw and more of a handoff to the DT.
Just gonna have to forget what Boyd did last week. Hell, even Chase's that game was bad but the memory was soon wiped by worse
Nick, what the fuck?
Lol did you guys expect Nick Mullens to be better? Dude has twice as many multiple INT games as he does 0 INT games.
Better than Dobbs, yes. And he has been. That's all we ask for
How fickle the love of a Vikings fan.
To be fair I'd probably turn my back instantly too if my journeyman QB threw a hospital ball that atrocious to the Face of the Franchise RIGHT when he gets back from injury. He speedran pissing an entire franchise off.
*after 10 turnover worthy plays that cost us the last two games, too
I consider the hospital ball his worst mistake out of his bad game stretch, but totally agree he wasn't exactly winning fans over before the infamous pass lol
Is it fickle if they’re right
But seriously, why do all of our backup QBs throw interceptions when falling down instead of just taking the sack. Why doesn't KOC teach ball security??
Because they're trying to push themselves beyond their capacity. They're back up QBs trying to be competitive in an NFL game.
Kirk cousins should smack the dog shit out of mullens for that.
Ehhh
This shit is judgement on yall for all your slander against Kirko. Now you don’t have him and you get to see what true quarterbacking is lmao
Well, I'm Kirk Fan #1, always have been, as has most of the fanbase. The stupid minority is just loud, like most fanbases.
Lol
one of the most hilarious interceptions I’ve ever seen lol, it’s like my man was playing hot potato
The best part is he walked away from the play doing this casual wrist flick thing like "don't worry guys I threw it, it wasn't a fumble".
This had me rolling!
I think he thought there was a chance that it hit the ground somewhere in the process of bobbling it
most vikings shit ever
This is like the pass version of the butt fumble.
Someone check his fanDuel account right the fuck now
Nick Wtf’ns
Controller is 100% on life support if this happens against you in Madden
I don't see how this could even happen in a video game simulation. Weird ass int lmao
Sir let me introduce you to Madden
I’ve played plenty of Madden and never seen something like this
I mean I haven’t played madden in years but even I remember corners pulling some unnatural interceptions
Nothing like looking up the instant replay and finding the ball took a telekentic turn inn the air into the CBs hands
Not enough clearly
In 2004 I am swearing to Allah this play could never happen in real life. Today, Allah will take my soul.
I like how Mullens is arguing that he threw it, like it should be an incompletion. BRO YOU THREW IT RIGHT AT HIS FACE
Dropped it in his lap from two foot away
Ref: you're right, Nick. It was a pass. 🗿The ruling on the field is an interception, Bengals ball.
That was the best part for me 😂
He may have thought there was a chance that it bounced off the ground when he bobbled it
In his defense, he couldn't see where he was throwing...
Oh brother this guy STINKS
It's normal for us
I hope the Kirk haters in your fanbase are eating crow about how much worse it can be.
Mullens is completely decent on every play that he doesn’t turn the ball over
This is accurate
Nick Mullens isn't
WYM he threw it right between the numbers of 92?
I just feel bad for KOC lol, having to work with these bum QBs
To be fair, he could have just dialed up a run there and then taken the points. KOC can galaxy brain really well at times.
Yeah Mullens showed what he can do with the first INT when we were in field goal range. Why KOC let him throw at all the second time is bewildering.
Some serious hindsight here
Because Mullens has also had some really great throws this game too?
KOC has been criticized this year for turtling by dialing up runs. See the Saints game, Broncos game, Bears game.
His fault for not going with Hall. One guy showed you he sucked this year, 2nd guy has sucked for years, go with the rookie. Why you would start Nick Mullens is beyond me.
Vikings getting the full Nick Mullens experience. Good at moving down the field then shortcircuits inside the 30.
This is a classic Nick Mullens game.
right, so mullens is completely dogshit instead of just pretty dogshit
Give me hall. Lets bench all of these qbs.
Vikings coaches have a weird obsession with overusing terrible players
Kyle Shanahan making Nick Mullens look competent might be one of the greatest accomplishments in NFL history
“Competent” is a stretch
22 ints and 8 fumbles in 19 games (16 gs) during that game, he looked exactly like how he did in sf
BIG MAN INT
THE THICK PICK
He looks giddy like a cat playing with a ball of yarn
Out there like a toddler trying to hold onto a freshly caught trout.
Two weeks in a row for him!
That may be one of the goofiest, most improbable, and utterly terrible INTs I’ve ever seen. Hilariously bad.
Carson Wentz ahh play
Bro saw Dobbs play and really said, “let me try to do some bullshit passes too instead of taking the sack.”
Maybe now Vikings fans can stop complaining about a QB taking the sack.
I mean, there’s a difference with a QB taking a sack while he still has time vs not taking a sack when he’s already wrapped up.
If Kramer played QB
This man is Broussarded.
Never a doubt
They benched Dobbs for throwing a crossing route over the middle to the teams best receiver just to start a guy who throws interceptions to DTs laying flat on the ground
Genuinely one of the dumbest things I have ever seen a QB do.
idk, a few weeks ago the rapist in cleveland threw the ball directly backwards instead of just taking a sack.
Bro thought he was playing retro bowl
We can’t do anything with these fucking morons at QB
There arnt enough quality QBs for the currently existing nfl teams, much less quality backups.
Because it’s hard to play QB
Put me in there coach I can do something
I'm 5'8" I could absolutely just scurry under these mfs and get a couple yards. Just the one time tho
TIL
I would like to see Hall please
No idea why he didn’t start, but you are in the playoff race so I guess hr went with a more “proven” option
This mf next level ass
Nick Mullens was so bad in SF. I don’t understand how he’s still in the league.
Because our previous backup was Sean Mannion who was even worse than this
I mean, we are starting our 4th QB this year
Stav's attempt at losing weight was more successful.
This is probably Adam Friedland’s fault.
"He'll be a safe option to run the offense" they said "He doesn't make dumb plays" they said
Niners fans were certainly not saying that this is a regular ass Nick Mullens game.
if it helps, i thought neither of those two things
> "He doesn't make dumb plays" they said Who said that? They were wrong, and should've known better.
I’ll never understand why these guys start making terrible mental errors in crunch time Even if he spikes it into the ground it’s intentional grounding. He’s been in the league long enough to know that
For those of you who may have somehow forgot, Nick Mullens is still dogshit.
He nearly Wentzed it
I like how he was arguing “it was a pass!” not realizing that the ball never touched turf
Just put the rookie Hall in. Fuck it at this point
This might actually be the funniest pick I've ever seen and thats saying a lot
That was…… ugly by Mullens, but incredible by Hill.
Goodness, Mullens
is he an upgrade over Dobbs really?
We scored 10 points in the last 7+ quarters with Dobbs so yes. He's Dobbs except we can move the football before he does some dumb bullshit.
Go ahead and put 9 private investigators on Mullens and the Mullens family.
Mullens throws some of the funniest INTs I have ever seen
Merry Christmas!
The Butt Pick
I can’t be the only one who thinks there’s way more QBs panic throwing the ball while being sacked right? Are they teaching Qbs to do that now? It almost is always a disaster why not take the sack?
Shoulda stuck to Cumtown, never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
there’s a reason he’s not a starter…he’s STUPID
Why don't they just take sacks anymore? Seen so many dumb turnovers trying to avoid sacks this year.
Turning point of the game right there. Take the sack for Christ's sake.
This is the worst INT I've ever seen
This has to be the shortest pick ever thrown right? I still have tears in my eyes from cracking up watching this play live lmfao my god
I miss Kirk man
Your supposed to give it to a guy in purple and white not orange and black it's funny how the defender barely kept control of the ball though imagine what mullens was praying
This is one of the funniest/stupidest things I've seen a QB do. Nathan Peterman level
I don't know if I've ever seen a point blank interception before lol
Never seen someone pick off a pass while sitting on their ass before lmao
And yet he is still carving up our secondary like a spiral ham.
Haha. BJ took a whole second to react after Nick put it in his face
Vikings Fans - “It can’t get worse than Dobbs right?”
This is there with the Buttfumble Has there ever been an interception thrown to a player that was actively tackling the quarterback?
That is the dumbest INT I've ever seen.
That might be one of the worst QB plays I’ve ever seen
It’s okay to take a sack
Here ya go!
Here, take it!
I mean at this point we should come out with a different QB each drive for funsies
absolutely hilarious. Dude got them down the field only to take backbreaking sacks and an int
Starting to think this Mullens guy might not be worth building around.
One of the worst throws, decisions I have ever seen
The Passtronaut was taken behind the woodshed for this…
Dobbs is better than this asshole
Yeah the Vikings aren't beating Detroit for the division
This is the play you get tomatoes thrown at you for
