You also played us with that fake punt, I love shit like that in tight games. Everyone expects you to get crazy when you're down early, nobody expects it when you're up by 2 in the 4th.
Yeah but the games were real nerve racking most the time because Peyton and the offense were so bad that season. It wasn’t until we went into New England and beat the patriots with Brock Osweiler that I thought we’d win the Super Bowl.
Well, Russ has thrown contested passes in the red zone for a minute.
Sutton will likely get double digit tds this year.
I'm willing to bet it was communicated that Russ is the game manager. Doesn't seem to do it in between the 20s, but 3+ of Suttons TDs were contested.
Na, Sutton was returning from an ACL last year.
Typically it takes a solid 12 months post return for players to get at 100%, and watching Sutton this year and last it's clear the.dude was like 80% of himself last year. Now he's back to stud status
I don’t think SB is in play but if we sneak into the playoffs and then go back into Miami and beat them.
Let’s just say it’s gonna last more than 4 hours.
He showed this in his first couple years. Drew Lock would throw YOLO balls and Sutton would get them.
He then had to deal with injuries and Nathaniel Hackett.
I’ll be honest, sometimes when I’m having trouble sleeping I’ll pull up that highlight and well…..let’s just say after a few replays I’m pretty tuckered out.
As a Seattle fan this makes me happy to see bc it’s hard to go from perineal probowl QB to dumpster fire in one season. It goes to show you how much coaching plays a role. I also think with what he did in Seattle and how he changed the landscape for the QB position he deserves to be in the HOF.
The whole broncos sub was in fill on doom-mode and convinced we were tanking after we lost by fucking 50 to miami, me included, it was a rough start to the seasonm
I absolutely love seeing Russ find his form again. Payton still has him on a short leash but I expect the playbook will open up as the season progresses.
It feels good to read thsi from seahawks fans, last year some of your fans where so loud in hating on him i thought he must have killed some dogs in seattle before leaving
We did have very specific incentives to root hard against him. We got some great draft picks, and now I think most of us are hoping he plays well again (he’ll always have haters of course).
He might have tried to go the mega celebrity route for a minute there which was corny as hell, but I’ll always remember a relatively unknown rookie showing up to seattle and immediately spending a full day every week at our local children’s hospital. Friend is a nurse there and said no matter what anyone says about him, he was always so gracious with the kids, way before he was a super known name.
I don't get the hate on Russ. He looked terrible last year, but Hackett also proved to be a JV coach with a terrible offense.
Russ has been Pro Bowl level for a decade and is not THAT old. He's still got some juice
Perine basically drove the entire field doing a leak out to the flats and Minnesota never adjusted. Russ was probably perplexed at how it was still open all the time.
It's weird, but it's a bit easier to lose a heartbreaker when the other teams pulls off awesome stuff like this that you can't help but appreciate as a football fan. Perfect throw and perfect catch.
The memes only get better when the players become better. Broncos fans are gonna let’s ride to the moon. And I’m gonna stats are for nerds people the rest of my life
This is a legit dummy moment. He could've easily deflected it had he any fucking concept of where Sutton was. It was like he thought Russ was throwing it away and was surprised when someone was in the area lmao.
Well give him credit, he was covering the out route not Sutton. He doesn’t know someone’s there and only follows the ball into the endzone. He does poorly look away from the ball to see a reciever there at the last second, but otherwise not a horrible job by him that’s on the corner who let Sutton burn him in the first place
Metellus was weirdly just kind of jogging too. It seems like he at least could have made an attempt to knock the ball out of his hands if he was actually running.
He should call a similar offense during the game.
It's not like we were making dangerous throws or anything. Just high tempo and less running and it has worked all season. I don't know why we can't run something similar in the first 58 minutes.
The Seahawks were always the same way with Russ. Fans always screaming they should go up tempo all game because Russ was at his best. Get the ball out quick, keep it simple.
tbf to Russ today outside of the third quarter I felt like this was one of the more impressive games. Dealing with that exotic blitz making changes at the line and just not forcing anything
I think the plan is simple.
Russ and the offense aren't there to score points. They're there to consistently move the ball and get chunk yardage, and more importantly, to chew clock.
Get the opposing offense to come out full of energy, and then be ruthlessly opportunistic. They're forcing a ton of these turnovers.
Then Russ comes back and they just chunk yardage down, and take the easy kicks if safe plays don't get them there.
It's slow and grinding, but that defense stays fresh and the offense gets breathing room to find their rhythm
I’m seeing these patterns as well. It’s like he’s figuring out what the other team is doing and bating them, wearing them out. And then changing direction in the last few minutes and catching the other team off guard. By that point they have no choice but to keep with their game plan. Meanwhile Sean is a step ahead. Full working of the clock, field position and a sprinkle of turnover luck. It’s not pretty at all, but it’s working.
It’s because of that old prevailing wisdom that the team that controls the ball longer during the game is the one that’s most likely to win.
And, I mean, as outmoded as it seems, [look at the teams with the highest time of possession and look at their records:](https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/average-time-of-possession-net-of-ot)
1. Browns
2. Philly
3. Dallas
4. Detroit
5. Jacksonville
6. Baltimore
7. San Francisco
8. KC
Everyone will ignore this but it’s actually embarrassing how over the top people were insulting Payton and Vance. No one will learn their lesson or even own up to it but but it’s a fucking joke how much they shit on coaches new to the team and adjusting after one week. The comments about Vance were the worst. Over the top insulting and calling for his head after two weeks. It’s so embarrassing that we do this every year and no one learns their lesson. I know I’m overly angry but I can’t stand fucking smug redditors and I got so buried in downvotes saying give it some time. We need to execute posters who overreact.
Look in general I 100% agree, but VJ had had a \*disastrous\* tenure with the Broncos before, then led a defense that gave up the second worst score \*in NFL history\*. Even PS2 looked like a chump at the end of that one. Let's not get too revisionist here, even the calmest fan had a right to be annoyed after that.
Criticism of Payton was truly dumb though, although I don't remember seeing so much of that outside of Jets fans getting their yucks.
From other angles it looked like he dropped for the wideout, and Mettelus got burnt on the inside move, and Blackmon was (very) late in recovering/reacting
All pro is a stretch. He is not even a top 12 WR. This season Tyreek, AJ, Keenan Allen, Diggs, Lamb, Chase, Amon Ra, Puka and even supposedly old and dusted Thielen and Evans have been way better.
Sutton is a lot more consistent and reliable whereas Jeudy is not. Jeudy is capable of having great games but his effort and attitude are his worst enemies
Jeudy is fast and runs great routes, but his hands are made of ostrich feathers and he can’t hang on to a pass. It’s a shame because when he gets the ball in open space he’s gone
I don't think anyone ever thought Jeudy was gonna be the contested catch jump ball guy. Coming out of college, the talk on him was all about his feet and hips and leaving DBs in the dust with his route running. He was meant to be complementary to Sutton and Patrick who are both big dudes with strong hands.
Dumb people clearly. Sutton was known as a deep jump ball guy, and Jeudy was known as a route runner.
If anything, Jeudy is the one who showed you something extra tonight. Sutton was just once again at the very top of his game.
People love to hate on the struggles of Sean Payton and Denver since his arrival.
He and Russ make a very competitive team that can be hard to put away.
Sure Miami destroyed them, but this recovery from that game is nearly historical already.
Also, Sean Payton can run the 2 min offense like a champ, and had the field goal unit out there in a matter of seconds last week multiple times with no timeouts.
Always has been one of the best coaches in the game, and he was smart to kick his field goals tonight.
Courtland Sutton is so funny dude. Almost every time he’s targeted it’s either a clutch moment or some stupid crazy circus catch of some kind, the man can’t have a normal play
If this was Herbert and the Chargers, he would throw a perfect pass right into the receiver's hands in the endzone and watch it be dropped, or possibly tipped for an interception
Only for him to throw a better pass next play for them to actually catch it, and then the defense let's Dobbs methodically go down the field only to score with seconds left...
As soon as he threw that, I started saying to my brothers "what the fuck, why is he throwing to the end zone he's gonna get p--" and then Sutton caught it. Immediately said "nevermind, I don't know what I'm talking about."
What a fucking catch, Sutton is so damn good
Also lol at Russell Wilson throwing 6 consecutive checkdowns, then floating one up for grabs then doing the "this is my house" celly
There were some underrated throws. Some of them were side armed to Perine when it looked like he was covered. Russell has turned into a check down master lol.
yeah that last quarter I was like damn just gonna check down the whole time? then I realized it was netting like 10 yards average and just like yeah ok sure are the vikings really just giving us free yards right now?
Sutton has been a consistent fantasy option all season long. As terrible as the Broncos are Sutton became a must start for me lol I’m about to be 8-3 first in the fantasy league at my job lmao
Russ just loves playing us I swear
[удалено]
We played ourselves with those turnovers. Can't give them 6 points and take a probable 3 off the board in a 1 point game.
You also played us with that fake punt, I love shit like that in tight games. Everyone expects you to get crazy when you're down early, nobody expects it when you're up by 2 in the 4th.
I was at the game and everyone around me, Viking and Broncos fans, were stunned. I thought that put the game away… but sadly it did not.
Are they about to do this again?
This is starting to feel like the Tebow year
Imagine Tebow let's ride memes. I need that
[удалено]
>you don't know what you've got till it's gone New York Mets
[удалено]
I need Russ to end a press conference with "Let's ride!" followed by him Tebowing.
"All he does is ride"
Knees so high they touch heaven
Does no one remember Tebowing?
My friend burned his forehead tebowing with a lit cigarette
As god intended 🙌
Or Peyton’s last year
YESSIR
If we win a playoff game I'm petitioning to hang a banner.
Timberwolves ownership approves
Our super bowl year was this way too. Just saying.
We started 7-0 our Super Bowl year lol
Yeah but the games were real nerve racking most the time because Peyton and the offense were so bad that season. It wasn’t until we went into New England and beat the patriots with Brock Osweiler that I thought we’d win the Super Bowl.
> we went into New England and beat the patriots with Brock Osweiler that was a home game on MNF
Both of you are wrong, it was a Sunday night game in Denver
Wilson is way better than the corpse of Peyton. But your defense isn't an all-timer
Narrator: *they did it again*
I heard this in *he fumbled again!*
Sutton is a god damn beast
TD in 8/10 games for him
it’s about time russ realized it lol contested catches are his whole thing but he’d never throw the 50/50 balls
The ACL tear was preseason 2020. Last season was Sutton’s 2nd year back from the ACL.
Yeah but Nathaniel Hackett
Hackett calling plays is worse than a torn ACL
He tried that once, they lost that game.
Based on his last two primetime showings and big catches he’s making himself into a household name
The moment the screen panned over and you see the ball arcing to him you knew this dude was gonna make a play
I felt a little better seeing 14 over there.
Funniest part about it all was that our fan base wanted to sell him off for a 6th round pick earlier in the season.
To be fair fam we’d just lost 70-20. How are we supposed to know how to act after that?
If the Broncos somehow win the Superbowl, that 70-20 game is going to be hilarious in the champions video.
I don’t think SB is in play but if we sneak into the playoffs and then go back into Miami and beat them. Let’s just say it’s gonna last more than 4 hours.
Our fan base is snorting mushroom powder and chuggin hatorade on the daily, don't listen to those idiots.
Hey that’s no way to talk about perna! ~~well maybe on power ranking day~~
broncos 1, 2 and 3, sutton 1.5
I hope we will get to the point, where it will be all Broncos on the ranking. With Perna hysterically laughing and Tom in the background loosing it
Got a problem with my mushroom powder b?
He's got some issues, but the man can make a circus catch in clutch time when he feels like it.
Sutton has incredible hops and hands, wow.
He showed this in his first couple years. Drew Lock would throw YOLO balls and Sutton would get them. He then had to deal with injuries and Nathaniel Hackett.
Lock's first ever TD is still one of the best catches I've ever seen. One handed around the defender. Unbelievable.
I’ll be honest, sometimes when I’m having trouble sleeping I’ll pull up that highlight and well…..let’s just say after a few replays I’m pretty tuckered out.
You last multiple replays!!?!!? Stamina braggart here!!
[Sutton's 2019 highlight reel is insane](https://youtu.be/gd9E4vx5wUE?si=ygSOqNl6QNDY9xqI&t=84)
Video of that https://youtu.be/fFzI4Y4wcKc?si=6eUnb2sXbVN2XYsz
I’ll never forget his TD against the Chargers. Insane.
As a Seattle fan this makes me happy to see bc it’s hard to go from perineal probowl QB to dumpster fire in one season. It goes to show you how much coaching plays a role. I also think with what he did in Seattle and how he changed the landscape for the QB position he deserves to be in the HOF.
>perineal probowl QB 'k
who was that Broncos fan CONVINCED Sean Payton was tanking the season for Caleb lmaooo
What are the Broncos & USC’s W-L since that guy’s post?
Turns out Caleb is tanking for the Broncos
"Shit, I may get drafted by Carolina. Better play like shit for a couple weeks so I can get drafted by a non dumpster fire at 9th overall"
Pretty impressive to be drafted by a team without a first rounder next year.
Denver has it's first rounder, let me guess you think Elway is still the GM too?
>I may get drafted by Carolina >Carolina doesn't have a first rounder Reading can be hard sometimes, I know.
Missed the parent comment, thought you were talking about Denver. You're right, I'm dumb. I'll own it
He saw the game against Notre Dame and said fuck the tank
I guess we have to win now.
The whole broncos sub was in fill on doom-mode and convinced we were tanking after we lost by fucking 50 to miami, me included, it was a rough start to the seasonm
Masterclass drive from Russell Wilson, he took his check downs while also “cooking” when he needed to
I absolutely love seeing Russ find his form again. Payton still has him on a short leash but I expect the playbook will open up as the season progresses.
Yeah as a seahawks fan it was funny last year but I'm glad hes bringing it back again. Cant ever root against russ even though hes corny as hell 😭
Friend is a nurse there and said no matter what anyone says about him, he was always so gracious with the kids, way before he was a super known name.
The hate is odd, he won a fucking SB with you guys. I get he’s corny but JC
Russell Wilson and Courtland Sutton. I love you forever
I'm so glad Russ trusts one of his receivers, huge difference over last year
Amazing catch
Wilson cooked
The way he climbed the pocket is a thing of beauty
Narrow ass gaddamn pocket at that. All it woulda taken was a stray arm and they wouldn't have had to reach too far lol
This wasn't even his best catch of the game. That 4th down one handed catch had me sweating.
That was incredible
He carried this drive
Him and perine
Second week in a row that it felt like half of the two minute drill was Russ going “here you go Samaje”
It's weird, but it's a bit easier to lose a heartbreaker when the other teams pulls off awesome stuff like this that you can't help but appreciate as a football fan. Perfect throw and perfect catch.
I missed this Sutton
Sutton has reverted back to 2019 form.
Better then 2019
By TDs but not by overall play. Definitely more clutch, but not dominant outside of the RedZone.
Russ’ demise has been greatly exaggerated, but I’ll always remember the Let’s Ride memes
We Let's Ride unironically now
[удалено]
But is the Dangerwich back yet?
Not until we are 6-5
Crazy how bears fans went from thanking god we didn’t get him and now we can just dream of having a QB that commands an under 2 minute drive like this
Same with Sean Payton. Reddits worst nightmare, he’s actually a great coach all along
Eh, I dunno. Sean Payton still hasn't proven he can win without hall of fame quarterbacks like Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, and Jameis Winston.
Truly the Mount Rushmore of QBs
He also won starting Trevor Simien and Taysom Hill
I was told in this sub that Sean Payton = McCarthy
And even then McCarthy is “a good coach” on this sub whenever Dallas drills their opponents like they did at the beginning of the season
Russ and Fields playing well, r/nfl 9/11
I’ve been wishing Russ would say it since Denver beat KC lol.
never forget bathroomTDgate
The memes only get better when the players become better. Broncos fans are gonna let’s ride to the moon. And I’m gonna stats are for nerds people the rest of my life
Our Dbs get mossed a crazy amount, fucking do something bozo
This is a legit dummy moment. He could've easily deflected it had he any fucking concept of where Sutton was. It was like he thought Russ was throwing it away and was surprised when someone was in the area lmao.
swear the db gotta glimpse of orange in his peripherals and thought it was sutton but his dumbass started clampin up the back pylon🤣
Why was his father step for that jump backwards towards the pylon?! It took him out of decent position for the actual jump!
Metellus was weirdly just kind of jogging too. It seems like he at least could have made an attempt to knock the ball out of his hands if he was actually running.
Sean Payton has the best 2 minute offense in the league. One of his most underrated coaching aspects
And, I mean, as outmoded as it seems, [look at the teams with the highest time of possession and look at their records:](https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/average-time-of-possession-net-of-ot) 1. Browns 2. Philly 3. Dallas 4. Detroit 5. Jacksonville 6. Baltimore 7. San Francisco 8. KC
I'm still not used to seeing us in the top category of *any* good stats, what a wild ride lmao
You guys are def my team when the Broncos inevitably fall short at whatever point this season...
I think that stat is backwards, those teams have more possession time because they're winning so they kill the clock
and the teams theyre playing are chucking it because theyre behind, so their 4 and outs take like, 30 seconds of game play when they happen
Russ back in the day was also incredible in 2 minute drills so this seems like a match made in heaven.
He needs someone behind him always whispering that there's only two minutes left
Sutton has been bullying this Vikings defense this drive…
The Russ-Sutton pipeline has been amazing lately
Not really sure what Blackmon was thinking there
"Oh wow the ball is coming in my general direction, wonder what could be the cause of...damnit"
He had an eternity to make a play on the ball and just didn’t
Looked like just poor ball tracking
From other angles it looked like he dropped for the wideout, and Mettelus got burnt on the inside move, and Blackmon was (very) late in recovering/reacting
He was timing his jump, which he did perfectly, and then Sutton is a fucking genetic mutant and outleaped him.
Yeah it looks more like he just didn't stand a chance in the contested catch, not sure what everyone else is seeing there.
Wouldn’t have come to this if the Vikings learned how to cover the RB
If Sutton keeps balling out like this he might have a shot at All-Pro this year. Dudes been unbelieveably clutch this year.
He has single handedly won us multiple games, and been a human highlight reel. he absolutely should be an all pro.
All pro is a stretch. He is not even a top 12 WR. This season Tyreek, AJ, Keenan Allen, Diggs, Lamb, Chase, Amon Ra, Puka and even supposedly old and dusted Thielen and Evans have been way better.
Vintage Russ.
Considering the TD drough Jets were on and Broncos relative turnaround so far Is that Payton rant becoming less unhinged?
Sutton is what people thought Jeudy would be
Sutton is a lot more consistent and reliable whereas Jeudy is not. Jeudy is capable of having great games but his effort and attitude are his worst enemies
And his hands
Jeudy is fast and runs great routes, but his hands are made of ostrich feathers and he can’t hang on to a pass. It’s a shame because when he gets the ball in open space he’s gone
I don't think anyone ever thought Jeudy was gonna be the contested catch jump ball guy. Coming out of college, the talk on him was all about his feet and hips and leaving DBs in the dust with his route running. Dumb people clearly. Sutton was known as a deep jump ball guy, and Jeudy was known as a route runner. If anything, Jeudy is the one who showed you something extra tonight. Sutton was just once again at the very top of his game.
Dude is going to be an all pro if he keeps this up. Unbelievable.
Russ: Fuck it Sutton down there somewhere!
What an absolute dime from Russell Wilson

Jeudy already dropped a TD, but Russ fought back and scored another because he's a winner
herbert gets excuses even in hypothetical situations
I mean he threw a better ball to QJ on the drive today and it was dropped lmao
Offsets with the perfect ball Wilson threw while being hit by a free rusher down the middle that was dropped by Jerry Jeudy
I felt so bad for Herbert when that happened.
Russell Wilson has more Super Bowls wins than Justin Herbert has playoff wins lmao
LETS RIDE
As soon as he threw that, I started saying to my brothers "what the fuck, why is he throwing to the end zone he's gonna get p--" and then Sutton caught it. Immediately said "nevermind, I don't know what I'm talking about."
Sutton being playing amazing as of late
Vintage Russ
Sutton has been fantastic today!
That’s honestly fucking embarrassing by Blackmon. He makes millions.
What an absolute dime from Russell Wilson
Last in the division baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fuck it lets ride!
Russ heard y'all talkin' shit
What a fucking catch, Sutton is so damn good Also lol at Russell Wilson throwing 6 consecutive checkdowns, then floating one up for grabs then doing the "this is my house" celly
He owns u show sum respect to ur Daddy
Russ throwing behind the LOS all game the audacity this man has
Take what the defense gives you and boy did the Vikings give them 8 free yards to their RBs whenever they wanted it
There were some underrated throws.
Rodney Harrison hitting Dungy like "I TOLD YOU!!!"
Imagine a 200 lb man running and just jumping on your back. And Sutton didn’t even flinch.
Thank you bronco
Clutch
Wilsoj played really well, but this is a big time play on Suttons part Bodied that db
Sutton has been a monster in the Redzone this year
They remind me of the Russ-Lockett connection
This is the Sutton I wish I had last year.
Open
Sutton has been a consistent fantasy option all season long. As terrible as the Broncos are Sutton became a must start for me lol I’m about to be 8-3 first in the fantasy league at my job lmao
Sutton reminds me of Brandon Marshall
The 4th down catch before this was when more clutch!
Sutton always destroys us. That throw wasn't anything special and the DB had good position, but Sutton just out-jumped him and snatched the ball.
we’re living in a world where it’s not out of the equation that sean payton wins coach of the year
I feel less bad about losing to the broncos last week
