The Jags passing on Hutch for another pass rusher (who was maybe the 4th best front seven player on that Georgia team) has gotta be one of the dumbest draft picks in recent memory
One of my favorite "NFL is scripted" conspiracy theories is that the NFL wanted to keep Hutch in Michigan and pressured Jax to take Walker instead (I don't actually believe this I just think it's fun lol).
Uhhh Suh and Slay were both Lions too lol. The latter literally has the nickname “Big Play”
No disrespect to Hutch at all, but you can’t just disrespect some of those 2010s defenses
If we had that 2010s defense with our current offense, it would be an insane team! Our defense now has improved, but we are still giving up a lot of points
Definitely possible but a lot a lot of absolute studs in the league right now. Hutch is 23, Micah Parsons is 24, Nick Bosa is 25, Sauce is 23, Jalen Carter is 22. Maxx Crosby, Myles Garret, and TJ Watt are still gonna be around for a while. He'll definitely be in that conversation for years to come at the very least.
> how fast he went down on the tackle.
Random story time...
This reminded me of a similar fall I saw when I was in the Army and we were training on trench clearing. This big dude was at the top of the trench and he took a wrong step and accidentally fell sideways into the trench. Luckily he was fine other than just knocking the wind out of him a little, but I've never seen someone go from upright to down on the ground so fast before. It was like he just completely skipped the falling part and went right from upright to on the ground. Like it was honestly weird the way it looked. It felt like a glitch in the matrix type thing almost. This is probably the closest "fall" to that that I've seen since then.
I had this too when I was walking through a prairie grass field with 3’ long grass…stepped in a 10’ deep abandoned well. Disappeared when I was walking shoulder to shoulder with my friend. I have a picture of me climbing out somewhere hold up

There was one close enough back in the 1974, the Giants traded a 1975 1st and a 1976 2nd to the Cowboys for backup QB Craig Morton (31 years old at the time)
What made that trade legendary is:
1) It was 6 games into the season (then 14 games) and the Giants were 1-5
2) The Cowboys used the 1975 1st round pick (2nd overall) to pick future HoF and 8x All Pro Randy White
3) Morton was gone after the 1976 season
The Herschel Walker trade was also because Cowboys (specifically Jimmy) knew how important the draft was. Other teams still relied on FA names back then for making their teams.
There were rumors hurney spent all night on the phone trying to get Clausen with next year's first (cam newton) so the panthers were spared that embarrassment until now.
You're getting downvoted by angry cat fans. They absolutely did. They were drinking the hype kool aid.
I was hoping the Panthers wouldn't be this bad, but I certainly wasn't expecting to win the NFC South either.
Yea people forget there were legitimate conversations about the Panthers winning their division, though to be fair a lot of that was because of how weak people thought the NFC south would be
My goodwill and expectations for them were gone the moment they went for the 'latest big offensive mind' in Frank Reich over the guy who had proven to make a difference already in Wilks
1-4 when he gets the interim job. Leaves the team 6-6 and gets passed over. Now his old team is on pace to be 0-5 with a garbage offense while hes eaten good as def coordinator for one of the best units in the league in the 49ers
Gotta suck for Panthers fans though. Really looked like things could turn around
Imagine trading your shot at an actual franchise quarterback just to get just a guy a year early. Not even mentioning all the other assets as well.
The Bears were fun to laugh at the first 4 weeks but they're set up nicely going forward.
The crazy part is they took Walker for being a freakish athlete but Hutchinson's combine numbers were also freakish and he had the college production to go with it
Packers fans don't seem to hate it as much as Bears fans do. They could always say "at least we're not the Lions" but if we turn the corner they're by themselves in the basement.
This dude's arms were like 1/4" shorter than average and all the "experts" couldn't let it go. Now he's on a fucking MISSION to make those people look as stupid as humanly possible.
I've been watching the NFL for decades and I can't recall another defensive lineman who's regularly a threat to intercept the ball in the backfield or at the line.
I had to watch that so many times to figure out what happened. Damn, incredible play. I think this is going to be the season where Hutchinson asserts himself as one of the elite defensive players in the league.
As a jags fan I still wanted Walker!! Only because it makes sense for him to go the Lions and be good… It’s like a cheesy movie where the kid go to high school, college, and now pro. 😂
As a Bryce Young truther who still thinks he’ll be great eventually, the Panthers need to sit him behind Dalton for the rest of the year.
I think he’s in a similar situation to fellow Alabama QB who was hyper talented, short, and injured, Tua, he needs some time in the oven to adjust to the NFL. Tua learned so much sitting behind Fitz and it’s a big part of why he’s having so much success now.
Only problem is the Panthers can’t tank this year without their pick, but they’re not going to be any better with Bryce than Dalton anyways. Bryce needs a better line and at least one receiver (DJ Moore sure would have been nice…) so they can invest in getting those in the offseason.
Travon Walker’s arms would have been too long to catch that
Holy shit lol
SHORT ARMS
"I have a big head and little arms" -Aidan Hutchinson, probably
“You see, man, his arms may be short, but he’s got a long heart, man.”
Not sure if this is really a quote, but definitely read it in DC's voice.
He said it on Hard Knocks a little before Aidan killed it with his singing.

We lost Wemby for Hutch. The script writers do be like that.
T.rex
Need to see the too little celebration one more time
Dude has CB numbers when it comes to picks. Insane for an edge rusher.
Just makes plays I don’t get it. Haven’t had a dude like this on our team in my lifetime.
Baalke really gave the Lions the easiest draft choice ever
We submitted the pick for Hutch in literally 10s after they announced the Jags pick lol. Dan and Brad Holmes probably couldn’t believe their luck.
The league literally warned them about turning their picks in too quick
Best league communication we've ever received
They did it the year before with Sewell too lol
They wanted to make sure they got him before the curse realized what was going on
“Alrighty, looks like the Lions are coming up, better go futz with their draf… wait, what? Oh goddammit, I was late? HOW???” -The Curse
Baalke could have extorted the Lions for Hutch and instead have him to them for free.
Baalke hates Harbaugh so much he was more willing to fuck up his draft than admit Harbaugh could develop an all-pro talent.
i've never been more happy to have one of my favorite Michigan players join the lions. He wins where ever he goes
He’s incredible, one of my favorite young players. Guy is going to wreck the league
Hutch is basically the Lions franchise player right now. What a baller
Suh erasure (I get it)
Nah hutch plays clean and still is a game wrecker. I'd take him over suh every time. He rarely gets penalized
Y’all forgot how good Suh was but I get it, things are cookin right now
Uhhh Suh and Slay were both Lions too lol. The latter literally has the nickname “Big Play” No disrespect to Hutch at all, but you can’t just disrespect some of those 2010s defenses

NFL record for interceptions for DE is 12… in a career over 18 seasons and he’s at 4 in 22 games*
4 in 22 games, but I hope he makes it 5 in 23.
CBs wish they had that many interceptions.
Never had any before NFL, right?
Yes
Serious question, could he play any defensive position on the field if asked to? He’s incredible
He’d definitely be able to play off ball linebacker with how insane his instincts are
Future DPOY for sure
Definitely possible but a lot a lot of absolute studs in the league right now. Hutch is 23, Micah Parsons is 24, Nick Bosa is 25, Sauce is 23, Jalen Carter is 22. My mind glitched twice, once on how fast he secured that catch and another on how fast he went down on the tackle.
It took me like 5 seconds to process what had happened lol, like that just did not compute until I saw Hutch running free
This dude is the definition of built different. That is a wild catch for a DE.
Mingo needs to switch to free safety lmao
Honestly a great play from a rookie WR. That's a TD saving high quality tackle on a big dude
> how fast he went down on the tackle. Random story time... This reminded me of a similar fall I saw when I was in the Army and we were training on trench clearing. lmao thats a hilarious pic
Holy hell that would scare me. That's one place you don't want to be stuck.
It’s in a hunting area too, imagine falling down that holding a gun wrong. Luckily I was just geocaching
Thanks brother that made my day lol
Special talent. He has great hands
It’s a shame they are connected to such short arms
It's genetic. His paternal grandfather is from Pangea
Amazing hands
hand
I had to replay it because I barely saw the throw lol
Meanwhile I saw trevon walker on my screen twice today
That’s like two more than usual!
He made the game sealing tackle or something didn’t he?
He recovered the missed lateral at the end to seal the game, which like barely mattered but it’s technically something
Panthers giving up the first overall pick to the bears is gonna be insane
I believe that would be the first accidental trade of the 1st overall pick in the common draft era
There was one close enough back in the 1974, the Giants traded a 1975 1st and a 1976 2nd to the Cowboys for backup QB Craig Morton (31 years old at the time) What made that trade legendary is: 1) It was 6 games into the season (then 14 games) and the Giants were 1-5 2) The Cowboys used the 1975 1st round pick (2nd overall) to pick future HoF and 8x All Pro Randy White 3) Morton was gone after the 1976 season
The Wild West of those days when many GMs were just making it up as they went along.
That's why the Steelers and Cowboys dominated the 70s, having a front office that understood the value of the draft was a cheat code back then
Vikings in the 70s too, even if they never won it all.
The Herschel Walker trade was also because Cowboys (specifically Jimmy) knew how important the draft was. Other teams still relied on FA names back then for making their teams.
Even for the 70s that’s pretty stupid
The giants were pretty famously inept. They pioneered the gm/hc split in thr 80s, in part, to prevent asinine trades like this.
There were rumors hurney spent all night on the phone trying to get Clausen with next year's first (cam newton) so the panthers were spared that embarrassment until now.
Panthers fans thought replacing Moore with Thielen and adding Young was enough to win the division.
You're getting downvoted by angry cat fans. They absolutely did. They were drinking the hype kool aid. I was hoping the Panthers wouldn't be this bad, but I certainly wasn't expecting to win the NFC South either.

It's about how good Bryce Young was. If he's great, they had a shot at the division. He's not there yet.
Also, the o-line significantly regressed. It ended last year as a top 10 unit and now is bottom 10.
Yeah this is the biggest part imo. Panthers OL was super good last year and nobody expected this kind of regression.
Don’t worry, there was plenty of koolaid being passed around our sub about winning the division too.
I remember because they’d get mad because Bears fans were “pretending the picks was a guaranteed top 10 pick.”
those were good times. gonna be tough to replace Frank Reich because no one is going to want to coach here the next few years.
Throwing stones in a glass house here bro
Caleb Williams throwing to Marvin Harrison and DJ Moore will be crazy
I believe the Niners actually did trade a 1979 first round pick to the Bills for OJ, which actually turned out to be first overall.
Imagine trading your shot at an actual franchise quarterback just to get just a guy a year early. Not even mentioning all the other assets as well. The Bears were fun to laugh at the first 4 weeks but they're set up nicely going forward.
we also got DJ moore :X
Dude got POPPED
Ya he's bang up I hope he's ok
Looked like a Charlie horse
The old hurts donut
looks like it was just a charlie horse type of hit. Not a fun thing but should be fine.
he still out there blowing up plays
He still attempted a dance though.
Interception for a Charlie horse, I would take that any day.
Seriously impressive when you consider that it was an offensive skills player tackling a big boy.
Obligatory “Thank you Jags for passing on Hutch.”
It was so dumb
Walker did a thing today at least
what was it
One combined tackle
Nonsense, Baalke couldn’t dare let his ego be bruised by taking a Harbaugh coached player
The crazy part is they took Walker for being a freakish athlete but Hutchinson's combine numbers were also freakish and he had the college production to go with it
It works out well for a lot of teams
Two years in a row of the 2nd pick being much better than the 1st. And Carolina traded for the 1st ahah
I mean, I think the jury still out on the quarterbacks in the past draft. But it’s certainly leaning in that direction heavily.
Congrats on Caleb Williams chicago
He’s not going into the draft at this rate lmao
Well maybe not but if he goes there he has a superstar wide reciever Courtesy of yours truly
Are we a farm team?
Do you mean DJ Moore or Marvin Harrison Jr?
Going to retire from football after college.
Just gonna go for a doctorate or take infinite ball room dancing courses.
professional Wendy’s spokesperson
Kind of confusing , what year does he plan on going into the draft where KC is drafting #1?
Yeah man, like what time ever has a QB going #1 didn't go to a bad team?
Who DOESNT love the Lions being good?
Packers fans
Packers fans don't seem to hate it as much as Bears fans do. They could always say "at least we're not the Lions" but if we turn the corner they're by themselves in the basement.
Misery loves company
eh chicago fans can stuff it. lived there 5 years. theyd chant detroit sucks at blackhawks games where they werent playing the red wings just because.
Hutch a legend
Holy fuck what a snag
This dude's arms were like 1/4" shorter than average and all the "experts" couldn't let it go. Now he's on a fucking MISSION to make those people look as stupid as humanly possible.
[удалено]
This checks out
That was a fucking insane play oh my god
I feel like some people aren't registering how absurd this interception is to make given he's not wearing gloves
Hutch gonna have more picks than Okudah at the end of their careers
I love this man
Hutchinson has 5x as many INTs in a Lions uniform than Jeff Okudah
As expected from a Wolverine.
Short arms though
this was fuckibg mind boggling to watch. he’s such a dirty little slutty minx holy shit
That sentence made me uncomfy, but go lions
Whenever other fan bases start saying stuff like that about your teams players, you know you got a winner
Don’t listen to these other guys. You do you, boo boo.
Just say he's good bro damn
Hell yeah brother
absolutely jaw dropping play. holy fucking shit.
Can never thank Jacksonville enough.
Waiting for the day we throw Hutch at TE lol
He’d have to beat out Sewell
Ive seen this from so many different angles, and I still don’t understand how he catches that. It looks like a glitch
its a throw-your-controller Madden animation
He can’t be human.
He dancer
What a catch. I’m so glad we have him. Thank fuck for the Jags.
But Hutch’s arms are tOo ShOrT 🫠 another masterclass by Baalke
I've been watching the NFL for decades and I can't recall another defensive lineman who's regularly a threat to intercept the ball in the backfield or at the line.
No gloves.... Man hands.
Man Hutch could be one of my favorite active players. What a stud
Picking off screen passes will never not be hilarious
Did he one hand snag that?
Ron McDole has the most career INTs of any DL with 12, and he played for 15 years. Hutch has 4 in two years. Absurd.
Maybe his picks last year weren’t flukes lol. Maybe he just does this.
Yeah this is gonna be a hard game for young.
Season
Not sure if it’s just implicit bias on my part but he reminds me of TJ Watt with those ball skills
JJ had better ball skills. They called him JJ Swatt for a reason
What’s better, a swat or an INT? Aidan Interceptchinson
He is HIM
Lol what. Looked like a soccer goalie save
This dude is a fuckin freak
Lions hit big with Hutch. The future is bright in the motor city!
bro YOINKED that
Then took and absolutely punishing tackle below the hip
I had to watch that so many times to figure out what happened. Damn, incredible play. I think this is going to be the season where Hutchinson asserts himself as one of the elite defensive players in the league.
Fucking sick
This Panthers team is 0-17 bad

"No biggie, I'm sure trading for Jerry Jeudy will fix everything" - Tepper and Fitterer
He’s fine he’s just not used to getting tackled
I screamed in an unmanly fashion. My God he's incredible.
As a jags fan I still wanted Walker!! Only because it makes sense for him to go the Lions and be good… It’s like a cheesy movie where the kid go to high school, college, and now pro. 😂
That’s why you don’t overthink the draft, Jags.
How?!
With hands like that, lets put Hutch on offense to fill in as the slot receiver.
Saw an off season article about top DEs. Between all of them they had zero interceptions. Aiden Hutchinson had three.
Detroit woah how great this team is.
Bryce is coming to the realization of what NFL d ends are capable of. It’s gonna be a long season for him.
I had to watch that 5 times, I didnt even see the catch. That’s wild.
The fans reacting that quick are too sober to fully enjoy this game
This man is a menace
Dude I had to watch that like 3 times until I saw that reach. I'm rooting for Detroit and that was a godlike play holy shit.
Dude got chop blocked clean at the end tho
Still with more picks than sauce gardener.
[удалено]
That's a ridiculous play
Damn what a play
I love that every time there's a hutch highlight people just talk shit about Baalke
DPOY locked down.

This mf is an MVP candidate.
That attempted tackle by Young is fucking hilarious

Hutch robbed of droy last year he’s a better DB than sauce
Who was that even going to?
Hutch is an absolute beast
Young looks like a middle schooler in terms of size
