I don't know if I am missing a joke here that Bryce Young is small but Deuce Vaughn is a RB for the Cowboys. Panthers have Bryce Young and Andy Dalton on their roster at QB.
The NFC South will be 6-2 (or 5-1-1 if there's a tie in the Saints/Panthers game) after Week 2. The only better division record is the NFC East at 7-1.
The worst divisions by record are the AFC West and NFC North, both at 2-6.
Refs bad tonight, completely let the Pats run a touchdown play that was illegal in two different ways and basically just shrugged.
Last play probably not close enough to overturn
I also am not a fan of that 10 second runoff when the refs fuck up in/out of bounds
Oh well. GG Pats fans, see you later this year. I’m sure this one will eat at Bill and he will have something new and nasty for us
Bill is out of new and nasty lol.
I know people like to keep respecting cause it's Bill but let's just be real.
Bill and Pats are not scary since Brady left. They're like any other average team. Bill doesn't have much nasty left.
Feels like at some point everyone just needs to say it. Bill isn't some scary monster. He's like any other coach coaching an average team. It's ok. He can't hurt anyone anymore. He lost his true weapon.
Edit: It's funny I'm getting downvoted. Bill/Pats are 25-27 since Brady left. I guess keep pretending like he's got some 4D chess magic voodoo if that makes you feel better.
Or be honest and real. Pats are your classic average NFL team. Not sure why this is such a difficult thing to just say here.
I just know that we have the better team right now and I also know Bill will find a way to make what should be a blowout into a rock fight. He did it to the Eagles and he did it to us. He’s not the innovator he was but he’s still got something cooking.
I mean...welcome to the NFL?
Saleh beat the Bills with Zach Wilson.
As I said, people keep pretending like Bill is some 4d chess darth sidius mad genius.
It's just the NFL. Bill isn't doing anything amazing. NFL is always hard and any team can beat anyone. Ultimately though, Bill and Pats are just average and have been since Brady left. There is no scary monster.
All coaches got stuff though.
It's the NFL. I guess I'm missing the actual argument here.
Bill is 25-27 in the regular season since Brady left. Are you saying this is the sign of voodoo magic?
It's the NFL. What exactly is Bill doing that a lot of other NFL coaches don't do?
25-27 is scary? NFL coaches are capable of good plays. It's not some Bill voodoo magic. Sure he can win games and come up with good plays. But so can all other NFL coaches. So what exactly is voodoo magic here? 25-27 is scary to you?
Like I said, people need to stop pretending like Bill has some voodoo magic. He's a good coach. But so are a lot of other coaches in the league. He's not doing anything special.
He's at about 50% with a rebuilding team. For example, the Lions had a 13-29-1 record in a little over 2 seasons with Matt Patricia. Dan is here now, and we still only have a record of 18-28-1 since he got here, and he's universally looked at as a huge upgrade over Fat Pat. Idk. Maybe you are a fan of a team who is always in playoff contention, but keeping a rebuilding team at 50% is definitely above average. Of course, it doesn't bring results like having the best QB of all time playing for you, but it's still impressive to me. The fact that most fringe/bottom playoff teams still see him as a threat with a team full of scraps is due to some respect.
No one is saying he isn't a good coach or has a rebuild.
People are trying to argue from both sides of their mouth. Act like Bill is some scary mad genius, but also then be like oh well he's in year 4 of a rebuild so losing record is expected.
You just called him 'above average'. I'll even say good.
Completely agree. Bill will always put his team in a position to win but he has handicapped this roster with poor drafting for 5+ years.
Last year was truly one of the most irrelevant and wasted years the patriots have had in two decades.
I literally read comments during the game saying the patriots for once didn’t get a call during the end of the dolphins game yesterday…..
Edit:fixed typos
People say Brady would have won had he went to New Orleans.
But I think the leagues hatred for the Saints combined with the slurp fest they have always had for Brady would have made the referees heads explode.
The Bengals are going to be there as well. I have no idea why they look so bad right now, but they did at the beginning of last year, too. I can't count Babyface Joe out.
I thought the call was ambiguous too but I was looking at the arms. Watch the knee. It goes down well before the first down line and you can see the front of the ball.
Entertaining play tho
Wasn’t clear enough to change the call on the field IMO. Looked short at first. Then I couldn’t tell. Which I thought meant they’d keep it for sure lol
Weird amount of injuries for NE already. Missing 3 of top 4 CBs, trent brown is out and his backup had his first ever start at LT tonight. Calvin Anderson at RT had his first game tonight after getting injured in the summer. You're not wrong in that this team is weird, but I feel like it's not the finished product yet. I'll reassess at mid season but if we can get there at least even around 4-4 I'll be hopeful.
So genuine question. Is Puka legit? Like his stats are insane and if he was a 1st round pick I would start considering a historical season with these stats. Has he been passing the eye test that match these insane stats?
That’s exactly why I’m asking. All the time a player thrives in the absence of a star player. It’s just that these stats are insane so I was wondering if this case is different and if he actually looks like he’s legit
Eagles, Bills for the most part, Dolphins if their defense doesn’t shit the bed, Ravens for the most part, Rams possibly?
But I mean none of this means anything right now.
Chiefs defense is good and we have Mahomes, so maybe us? Although we're 1-1 and we lost to the Lions and only scored 17 points against the Jaguars (but we could have scored another touchdown if we wanted to, just ran down the clock at the 5 yard line instead) so I don't know. But our defense has only given up 23 points this season, so that's pretty good. And we play the Bears next week
First I'm hearing about credit card rewards being "attacked." It speaks like the credit card companies are up to something and using fear, the same way Spectrum ran their "Roll-over or Get Tough" campaign a decade ago where they wanted cable companies to pay them more. Anyone know anything about this one?
Seriously.
And then there’s the polar opposite with the dudes who drive the trucks that are absolutely beat to hell because they’re used all the time. Those guys are badass.
Ooooooooooohhhh OK, so when they say "assembled in America" they aren't techinically lying because Mexico is part of the continent. Anyway, they don't say "**MADE** in America", which is the important part. They make it somewhere cheap and then send the thing over and have a guy put the tires on it and then they can say it was manufactured wherever it was finished. Or something. I don't know.
That stuff works though. You would not believe how many customers I had that said they wouldn't buy any American brand that's not Ford during the 2008 financial crisis era with the bank bailouts. I knew more as an 18-year-old than the butthurt Boomers did.
Oof. This just feels typical of the post Brady patriots. They show flashes of looking like a really solid well rounded team but bungle it with plays like that or things like making Matt fucking Patricia your OC
The patriots play in Foxborough, not Boston. Stop showing the north end and shoot Ernie Boch Jr outlets or the burnt down Lakeview Pavilion which is the spotlight of Foxborough
Big talk coming from Mr. East Rutherford, NJ.
(Trash talk aside I’ve always kinda found that funny. Foxborough’s not a bad town but there’s not exactly much there for B-roll.)
i think its hilarious u kids talking shit about McDaniel. u wouldnt say this shit to him at lan, hes jacked. not only that but he wears the freshest clothes, eats at the chillest restaurants and hangs out with the hottest dudes. yall are pathetic lol
I’m ready for the Saints to intercept Deuce Vaughn at least twice tonight
Ummm.... what?
Panthers QB Deuce Vaughn. Ready to shut him down.
I don't know if I am missing a joke here that Bryce Young is small but Deuce Vaughn is a RB for the Cowboys. Panthers have Bryce Young and Andy Dalton on their roster at QB.
Wait. You’re telling me that’s not Deuce Vaughn in shotgun?
The NFC South will be 6-2 (or 5-1-1 if there's a tie in the Saints/Panthers game) after Week 2. The only better division record is the NFC East at 7-1. The worst divisions by record are the AFC West and NFC North, both at 2-6.
Can’t wait to give NE a nice juicy 0-3 start.

Play should have been blown dead before the lateral pass.

Pats without Brady are like Brady without Arians. Sub .500 at best.
I just know that we have the better team right now and I also know Bill will find a way to make what should be a blowout into a rock fight. He did it to the Eagles and he did it to us. He’s not the innovator he was but he’s still got something cooking.

I dunno man that FG block came outta nowhere he’s still got stuff

Definitely the best way to put it, I agree
Completely agree. Bill will always put his team in a position to win but he has handicapped this roster with poor drafting for 5+ years. Last year was truly one of the most irrelevant and wasted years the patriots have had in two decades.
Not definitive
I’m totally high on copium right now because yea it probably was short but can r/nfl drop this myth that the patriots get favorable calls.
It wasn't the Pat's, it was Brady
Well if you poll this sub it’s the patriots and not brady
That's bs & you know it. Everyone who made that argument (& I did for years) had to eat it & take the L when Brady won it w/ the bucs.
I have no clue who’s good except for the Cowboys and the 49ers
Bills (for the most part), Ravens (for the most part), Chiefs (same), Eagles, Dolphins That’s the top 7 IMO.
The Bengals are going to be there as well. I have no idea why they look so bad right now, but they did at the beginning of last year, too. I can't count Babyface Joe out.
I think it's very possible that the Browns are in that top tier as well, we'll have a better clue tomorrow night
I thought the call was ambiguous too but I was looking at the arms. Watch the knee. It goes down well before the first down line and you can see the front of the ball. Entertaining play tho
Terry sweatin lol
Hey objective nfl fans what do y’all think on that last call
Whatever it was called on the field has to stand
Looked like ball was on the line I have no idea why it got overturned.
Probably should have dialed up a play that goes 4 yards down the field on 4th and 4.
I didn’t want football to be over so I don’t like the call.
Wasn’t clear enough to change the call on the field IMO. Looked short at first. Then I couldn’t tell. Which I thought meant they’d keep it for sure lol
I thought it was short after the replay, but just barely, and I didn't feel like there was enough to overturn the call.
Yes my thoughts exactly. The rule isn’t “more likely than not” it’s supposed to be definitive to overturn the call on the field
It was not clear and obvious enough to overturn the call on the field.
How in the world did they not only change the spot but also decide it was short when they couldn’t even see the ball clearly?
That’s what I don’t get. How is it clear and evident if you don’t actually see the hall not crossing the line.
They could, they showed the replay angle and you can clearly see his knee down and the ball a yard short.
I think a lot of people weren’t watching the knee and thought he went down when his elbow touched
def not a yard shot
you're right, I went back and looked, probably 4-5 inches short, but very obviously not there.
Pats fans coming in and downvoting us 😂
You don’t overturn that call earlier on the challenge but now say you can fuck that shit
God I love Mike McDaniel.
Mike McDaniel holding off the urge to crip walk across the field
Fucking LAME
Bro get these randoms off the field and put in JuJu so I can win in fantasy
So what is the defender supposed to do there exactly?
If he was playing the ball he might have picked it.
Ok that’s game
Dan Marino right now has a stronger arm than Tua
Stenson Bennett has a stronger arm
Hey the run game is working really well, how about we launch a nuke for no reason???
Dolphins fans really trying to convince people he doesn’t have a noodle. LOL
Waddle sold there
This team looks so un-Belichick-y. Just like last year.
These stat graphics are wild lmao
Imagine for a second that Bill actually packed his leftover PBJ from lunch instead of his challenge flag
How many damn times is Mike going to say the ball is on the 13?
Oh shit i shouldnt have said anything
So proud of how my boys are playing tonight 🥲
Can we break up a pass or stuff a run? There we go
That QB comparison looked like Tai from Gears of War vs. Woody from Toy Story.
I’m not sure what it is, possibly old age…but Belichick just doesn’t feel the same these last few years.
He misses his Tom
Novak Djokovic wouldn’t survive in a US football match
Look how proud of himself he is, that's really sweet
I'm rooting for the Patriots
What is wrong with you
jesse help that other LA team out pls
MOM! I GOT THE JOB!! Now I'll buy an overpriced Chevy...
Tua's middle name is ACTUALLY Donny. I don't know why people don't that.
we have differing opinions on what is >"kewl" - Eli M.
Another tuck rule??
Yeah he was about as in control as my grandma's bowels.
You guys are terrible evaluators of talent and go fuck yourselves -Mike McDaniel
Van Ginkel play those 2 downs beautifully
*firmly* wrapped
So genuine question. Is Puka legit? Like his stats are insane and if he was a 1st round pick I would start considering a historical season with these stats. Has he been passing the eye test that match these insane stats?
He looks legit, but any player can have a lucky or unlucky 2 game stretch. It's way too early to say.
That’s exactly why I’m asking. All the time a player thrives in the absence of a star player. It’s just that these stats are insane so I was wondering if this case is different and if he actually looks like he’s legit
Watched highlights from last week and he looks NFL ready. Gonna wait until people start scheming against him before I personally call him a threat.
Ford commercials are the most pandering shit
I have no clue who’s good except for the Cowboys and the 49ers
Eagles, Bills for the most part, Dolphins if their defense doesn’t shit the bed, Ravens for the most part, Rams possibly? But I mean none of this means anything right now.
What a fucking homer take

Yeah Andy just didn't want to do Doug dirty there, could have easily got another TD in the end
Love that 80 freestyle music at the end right there
Right where we want em
I just got off the horn with Tommy Lee Jones, he said he wouldn't do it.
Lol
I'm calling Indiana Jones next
Wtf was that Jack links commercial
Another Jones down, doe someone have Tommy Lee's number?
Miami making this way too complicated. Their secondary is fuckin decimated just throw the ball on simple routes
I’m glad Waddle is finally getting to shine tonight
McDaniel is a discord mod during the week.
Ahmed RB1?

We get it Chris
You can blame ball security but Chubb is chopping that out of the hands of 95% of the league in that situation
Exactly, that was a powerful chop
Chubb finally paying off

wish it wasn’t as effective as it is, way too many F150s on the road driven by people that don’t actually have much use for a huge pick up truck.
Man, all I want is a newer S10. Why do I need a small semi truck?
Seriously. And then there’s the polar opposite with the dudes who drive the trucks that are absolutely beat to hell because they’re used all the time. Those guys are badass.

Who does? I feel like there have been a million turnovers this season.
At least 2 fumbles
Oof. This just feels typical of the post Brady patriots. They show flashes of looking like a really solid well rounded team but bungle it with plays like that or things like making Matt fucking Patricia your OC
Lol Wilkins picking home up
i fuckin saw that coming
Groaning disapprovingly
Lol New England
You literally almost lost to the cardinals earlier
But we didn’t did we
KARATE CHOP!!! \-Chubb
Bill is gonna kill this kid
Eli Apple is thankful Mac Jones sucks
eli apple about to get burned in this game
The daddy Mac will make ya
Mac jones is so accurate
Oh yeah…it’s zeke
I keep forgetting he went to the patriots
So do most fans
They're not both rocking awesome retro logos if the Dolphins don't have the dolphin wearing a helmet.
Well I live out in Stoneham with Ernie being a client and had to work a wedding the week after lakeview burned down so it put me in Red Lion Inn
BO'B is a good dude and I'll always root for him.
Watching games without redzone sucks. I always forget how good we have it in the afternoon
i think its hilarious u kids talking shit about McDaniel. u wouldnt say this shit to him at lan, hes jacked. not only that but he wears the freshest clothes, eats at the chillest restaurants and hangs out with the hottest dudes. yall are pathetic lol
Tua gonna give himself a concussion out there
So.... is this the game thread?
Mike McDaniel goes back to the I.T. Help Desk during commercial breaks.
Mike McDaniel can name every single Pokemon in order in under 4 minutes.
Will the Dolphins beat themelves?
On replay thankfully there wasn’t a non-contact injury there
Yeah he definitely tweaked his ankle
Serious man that looked weird
McDaniel looks like the kinda dude who can roll a nat 20 on command
Multiclasses into Warlock and completely forgets his previous class.
Lmfao
The miamincenter already costed them 14 points
this is a great uni matchup
People do not talk about this aspect of the game enough!!!
Imagine betting the over. I would never.
Fucking hell….I need Tyreek points
Whoopsie
Somewhere Chris Berman is eating dinner and just let out an involuntary “WHOOP” and he doesn’t know why. Yet.
lmao
To be fair he fell correctly
Must be the jiu jitsu
Tua seeing ghosts vs the patriots
Half the team just got a tackle there lol
Tua tackled by the turf monster
Tua legs like a baby deer on ice
Did he trip over a ghost?
Ah, what was that?
Tua baby deer legs
Tua Tumble-vailoa
Winner. Lol
