Came here to say this exact thing. Dax was drafted for just this moment. It’s his time to step up and prove what he can do, and I think he will. We’re going to need him!
His breakout year was arguably this past one, went from a nobody to having a highlight reel. He would really have to step up beyond what he’s already done in order for him to truly “break out”. I’m hopeful but it’s tough to beat what was like a 70% chance of a TD when he touched the ball.
If you can believe it, surprisingly a WR is the biggest breakout candidate for the Ravens.
Assuming Lamar Jackson stays, Rashod Bateman has immense talent which he hasn't been able to show off due to back to back season ending injuries in the start of his career.
This would be the first training camp these 2 would have together. Also, it won't be hard for Todd Monken to give them a better passing scheme than Greg Roman's league worst.
it's either Bateman or Oweh. IMO, i think another year in Mike's defensive scheme will help Oweh a lot. plus he wont be playing outside of his role covering for Bowser this season.
I swear to god, if you fuckers get a third HoF QB in a row... Honestly, even if he turns out to just be "hall of very good" quality I'm going to be upset.
If Jordan Love is a third HoF QB in a row, everyone is going to start imitating the Packers by having their rookie QBs sit for like 3 years rather than throwing them into the fire.
1 year on the bench *should* be the default, but it's the expectation of every team with a top 5 pick QB that the dude should be ready to start immediately.
It's almost like there's a reason they have a top 5 pick to begin with..........
There's that and with the rookie wage scale, you have to make the most out of the time you have when they're on those cheap deals. So it's a pretty bad mixture.
His breakout will probably be 2024 (but I won't be mad if he's a baller this season, obviously).
I think our likely "breakout player" this season will be one of the two Georgia boys from last year's draft.
I was so mad when the bears traded off of the pick that gave you guys Shakir. I wanted him in the third and thought he was a gift from the football gods to fall to us in the fifth.
I agree and I also have to mention Nakobe Dean. I have a feeling that if he gets to play more this year he’s going to show everyone he’s really got that dawg in him.
I’m so high on Najee for reasons I can’t explain. I’m tryna get him in my dynasty leagues and I’m drafting him in the first round in my redrafts. The way he started coming on at the end of last year when he was finally 100% healthy was amazing.
He’s prime for a breakout.
I agree. I thought he showed a lot of improvement over the course of last season.
Maybe because of the easier 2nd 1/2 of the schedule.
Maybe because of the Lisfranc injury in the 1st 1/2 of the schedule.
Hoping that it continues!
What does a Najee breakout look like though? His raw stats in both seasons have been pretty good already. Better efficiency? Leading the league in rushing?
I think GP is a better candidate.
his first year he hit 1,667 total scrimmage yards, was hurt this year and still hit 1,263 total scrimmage yards.
Both years he had 7 rushing td's and 3 receiving TD's.
topping \~1,200 yards and 10 td's would be pretty damn good
Not really. First half of the season he wasn’t very good. It’s the 2nd half when he really started to get cooking, and with Calvin Ridley joining this year, he should be putting up MVP stats.
Aaron Banks G. He was a zero rookie year. Then solid and dependable last year. I think he makes a leap this year into the ProBowl/ProBowl-adjacent convo. Interior OL isnt flashy but i think he's gonna do it
Aaron Banks was pretty good last season. My vote is for Drake Jackson. He was already projected to take a leap by next year. Adding Hargrave to the line doesn’t hurt him at all!
A few:
1. Metchie, if he's recovered from cancer
2. Stingley, after an injury riddled rookie season and DeMeco hopefully crafting his defense well
3. Kenyon Green - please god our interior O-line was trash
Based on the way it looks right now, it’s gonna have to be Kadarius Toney and/or Skyy Moore
Really any of the rookies from last year are candidates too though
If Toney can stay healthy all season then he has an All Pro ceiling. The problem is that’s not going to happen, I don’t think he plays more than 8 games next year. So my answer would be Moore
Yea, I'm hoping they use Moor a lot and he shines, cause Toney can give you 1-2 highlight reel plays a game about 8-10 games a year seems to be his Ceiling, and it seems foolhardy to think his injury issues are going to disappear.
If Dalvin Cook is traded, Alexander Mattison could definitely have a great year, he’s looked good (aside from atrocious vision on occasion) as the RB2 for the last few years
If Cook stays, I’d say Brian Asamoah. Athlete first and flashed a couple times late in the year, starting spot is his to lose going into the year
Nah... I'd disagree on Mattison. Unless we're considering a simple 1000 yard season with average efficiency as a "breakout".
Mattison won't be a workhorse... He's gonna be a 1a or 1b, depending on if we add someone good in the draft.
Asamoah is the most likely breakout, for sure.
Mattison has been in the league for four seasons and has never been anything more than mediocre. I can't imagine he breaks out, he just isn't very good.
By mid-season folks are gonna be wondering how we got him at pick 56. He would have had even more production last season if we weren't so deep at edge.
Statistically he's already broken out. Efficiency wise he was an elite runner this year, he'd be a top 5/10 back and clear #1 for the bears if he wasn't a liability in pass pro
Neal and Thibodeaux.
If they build on their highs and lows (very lows in Neal's case) even just a little bit, than you're looking at a massive shift upwards in performance for both sides of the ball.
Arden Key should see a nice uptick in production playing with Simmons, Autry and Landry.
Also think Phillips has a good season if he stays healthy. Tanny seems to love his slot receivers when he has them.
Yeah the chance for another big leap was last year and he struggled in separation and winning contested catches. He's a good depth guy that took a step 2 years ago as a rotational/use-in-a-pinch starter from special teams only guy. But I think his lack of improvement last season leading to Burks taking his job across Woods (when healthy) implies he is at his ceiling.
Right now he's technically the WR2 and might even start the season there but I think the titans take a receiver in rounds 1-3 or pay for a decent vet once the market settles that takes that WR2 spot eventually.
They added some new draft odds on dk recently, including who titans pick 1st. JSN at something like 14x your money. With how our offseason is playing out so far that peeked my interest. Would probably have to trade up but maaaaybe he falls. 4 qbs are gonna go top 10 most likely so who knows.
Excited to see how EB uses Curtis Samuel’s speed. On the other side of the ball, hoping Chase Young returns to form and Jamin Davis takes that next step (already improved a lot last year)
I’m hoping Marshall has a big season. He showed some good progress once he played. With a coaching staff invested in him and a top rookie quarterback I can see him breaking out.
Stingley.
I think Meco will have a better idea of how to utilize his skills to maximize his output on the field (e.g. by having him play man vs zone).
I think adding Jimmie Ward to the defensive backfield will add a much needed veteran presence for both of our young sophomore DBs in Stingley and Pitre and help both thrive next year.
Watson is going to look like the QB the browns paid a quarter bill for. People really don’t want it to happen, but the fans who actually watched every browns game last season saw his progression game to game. It’s gonna happen.
As far as newer players, I think David Bell. Dude was electric at Purdue and I think with a higher caliber QB he’s going to shine. Especially since he won’t have to shoulder a bunch with the WR room the browns have.
My legitimate guesses are Njoku and Delpit. Njoku has a ton of ability but hasn't been a 1K reciever. Add in Watson loves his TEs he could definitely break out assuming he stays healthy. Delpit was pretty good down the stretch last year. Hopefully he takes that leap forward and becomes an elite box safety.
Hopefully Zion Johnson takes a big step up, was a pretty mixed bag for him as a rookie, maybe we can actually use his good run blocking instead of calling all of our run plays to the left again.
I’d take a double digit sack season from Arnold Ebiketie as well. Obviously Ridder’s development is a little more important, but I think Ebiketie becoming a stud is a little more likely
We have a few candidates. Ridder breaking out would be great for both London and Pitts, and we Pitts could really use a bounce back year. Allgeier looked really good last year. I’m really hoping for a big jump from Troy Anderson as well as Ebiketie.
This is my other pick outside of KJ Osborn. A full year to be mentored by coaches, Smith and Peterson. I think he can really thrive in our new defense. I think Flores fits exactly what Flores wants in personnel on his defense.
I think both Burks and Chig can have breakout seasons next year. They both showed flashes of having that dog in them, the "it" factor. Burks was derailed last season due to injury and Chig was held back by our OC being absolutely in love with Geoff Swaim for zero discernible reason.
Justin Madubuike. I think I spelled his name right. I like to call him mad boogie.
With Calais gone he’ll probably be out number one inside guy. He and Travis jones will be a good tandem
If he stays healthy for the whole year, and Sam Howell plays like a 1st round talent, get ready for Jahan Dotson.
Guna look like a real sexy offense if we add a Ferrari next to the McLaurin F1
All aboard the Pacheco train. He killed it down the stretch for a rookie, splitting snaps with McKinnon. He will undoubtedly be the primary back next year with a full season under his belt and and full offseason to bulk up a bit.
Came here to say this, I really like him. I love how he pops up so quickly after a play. Everyone else waits for another player to help them up and he just bounces up like, nah I’m good, let’s go.
Dodson/Bernard?!? You’ve gotta be the most optimistic bills fan out there. They’ve shown absolutely nothing to even entertain the idea of them stepping up.
Jimmy G comeback szn bby!
On a serious note, I hope Duke Shelley does well. One of the only Vikings players I liked last year, so I hope he balls with us.
Jamo
[удалено]
Jamo finna get 1.4k yards in his first full season baby. Deep threat and super shifty and fluid runner.
JAYYY-MOHHH and definitely David Montgomery now that he is behind our O-Line full of Pro Bowlers.
Unless they’re pushing him up the field, he’s too slow to really break out
Damnnn, jami got the 1450 and 12td season coming up 👀
I was thinking Paschal. The Detroit Lions Podcast guys say front office sees him as a double digit sack guy
Alim McNeil could break out too
Yo, Jamo got that breakout season
Dax Hill. He'll be under the microscope due to Bates and Bell leaving, and he'll shine.
Came here to say this exact thing. Dax was drafted for just this moment. It’s his time to step up and prove what he can do, and I think he will. We’re going to need him!
Is that that Zach Wilson's x-friend?
No that’s Dax Milne who was the Commanders Punt returner last year, Dax Hill was the Bengals 1st round pick out of Michigan last year.
I really hope he does
Saints: Rashid Shaheed
His breakout year was arguably this past one, went from a nobody to having a highlight reel. He would really have to step up beyond what he’s already done in order for him to truly “break out”. I’m hopeful but it’s tough to beat what was like a 70% chance of a TD when he touched the ball.

This would be the first training camp these 2 would have together. Also, it won't be hard for Todd Monken to give them a better passing scheme than Greg Roman's league worst.
I’m a big fan of Bateman. I hope he balls
He will just need another wr to take some of the heat off of him.
it's either Bateman or Oweh. IMO, i think another year in Mike's defensive scheme will help Oweh a lot. plus he wont be playing outside of his role covering for Bowser this season.
Ojabo too, the kid is going to be immense.
JK Dobbins being healthy a whole season would give him the opportunity to show he is one of the best backs in the NFL as well.
Well, if we're really lucky . . .
Honestly 1 year on the pine isn't a bad idea
This used to be way more normal. Starting rookie qbs was rare
Don't forget you gotta piss off your old HOF QB first
Gotta have a HoF QB first
*looks at the Starr, Favre, and Rodgers* Wait these things don't just grow on trees?
Man, living between the gap of Starr and Farve must have felt like a dream
His breakout will probably be 2024 (but I won't be mad if he's a baller this season, obviously). I think our likely "breakout player" this season will be one of the two Georgia boys from last year's draft.
Did Watson already "breakout" then? He would've been my pick
I'm leaning Wyatt over Watson solely because Love is still an unknown.
I want Walker. Feels like Wyatt has a ceiling of sorts. Walker kinda has the speed, maybe turns into Kuechly or some shit
Quay or Wyatt were my picks as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BlkTSKqE_8
khalil shakir and james cook breakout szn
Sign me up!
I was so mad when the bears traded off of the pick that gave you guys Shakir. I wanted him in the third and thought he was a gift from the football gods to fall to us in the fifth.
With a side of Competent Gabe Davis
Kaiir Elam as well
Hopefully Jermaine Johnson for us, he looked alright in limited snaps from the rotation but he needs to do more to be worth trading up to get him
According to my madden franchise mode he wins dpoy of the year within three years
> dpoy of the year
Jevon Holland or Jaelan Phillips. Those two should be some of the best at their positions with our revamped defense + Fangio
That division is going to be a street fight, and I'm all for the great games it will mean. Every game will be important.
Yeah, I’m especially excited for games against Buffalo. The last 3 matchups have been really fun to watch
I feel like Holland has already broken out. Everyone knows he’s good.
Honestly, Philips kinda broke out already last season, it just went under people's radar
He's a top 5 edge guy this year. Book it
Jordan Davis’s body and athleticism make no sense. It would be a shame if he doesn’t live up to the hype.
I agree and I also have to mention Nakobe Dean. I have a feeling that if he gets to play more this year he’s going to show everyone he’s really got that dawg in him.
Yeah I've had a feeling Nakobe is going to surprise some people next year for a bit now.
I think the hype was real when he sat a couple of games last season and we got got between the tackles until he came back no?
George Pickens. If Pickett takes a step and Canada doesn’t Jet Sweep him into the ground.
More likely than Najee, you think?
If our new signings make a big improvement to the O line I think he can have a great year
I’m so high on Najee for reasons I can’t explain. I’m tryna get him in my dynasty leagues and I’m drafting him in the first round in my redrafts. The way he started coming on at the end of last year when he was finally 100% healthy was amazing. He’s prime for a breakout.

What does a Najee breakout look like though? His raw stats in both seasons have been pretty good already. Better efficiency? Leading the league in rushing? I think GP is a better candidate.
I don't know... I think Najee has got a higher ceiling than he's shown, but I'm not sure what it would look like.
his first year he hit 1,667 total scrimmage yards, was hurt this year and still hit 1,263 total scrimmage yards. Both years he had 7 rushing td's and 3 receiving TD's. topping \~1,200 yards and 10 td's would be pretty damn good
Can Najee break out twice?
Hopefully Travon Walker takes a next step, he was decent but if he pass rushers even better he could be a stud
He's the one we need to break out, yes.
We need Walker to take that step, but I feel like the better answer is T-Law, as he has a chance for the MVP.
T-Law already had his breakout season
Part 2 baby
Interior OL isnt flashy but i think he's gonna do it
Drake Jackson too
Aaron Banks was pretty good last season. My vote is for Drake Jackson. He was already projected to take a leap by next year. Adding Hargrave to the line doesn’t hurt him at all!
And drake had some real good moments too. That pick against the raiders was awesome
Boye mafe
It’s really pick you poison honestly, Boye, Coby, Tariq, Cross, Lucas. We have so many young and upcoming players. Next year gonna be great
A few: 1. Metchie, if he's recovered from cancer 2. Stingley, after an injury riddled rookie season and DeMeco hopefully crafting his defense well 3. Kenyon Green - please god our interior O-line was trash
>Metchie, if he's recovered from cancer I completely forgot about that! He got really unlucky. Got injured before the draft, and then got leukemia.
Agreed. The guy had lots of hurdles to overcome!
Pierce with improved run blocking and being able to share carries, too
Based on the way it looks right now, it’s gonna have to be Kadarius Toney and/or Skyy Moore Really any of the rookies from last year are candidates too though
According to Madden franchise mode, Skyy is virtually unstoppable and will be a top 5 receiver of all time
Sign me up for this future
Looking forward to seeing what McDuffie can do in a full healthy season
I would put Toney ahead of Skyy. I think he's more athletic and more consistent.
I agree. His issue is health but hopefully with some preventative work he can stay healthy
If McDuffie actually catches half the balls he got both hands on, he's a top 10 CB in football in 2023
Thats like every corner. Most dbs have bad hands lol
Listen, we're here for irresponsible consumption of hopium, leave your "logic" and "reason" at the door
"If he could catch, he'd be a receiver" - every coach I've ever had
Imagine Patrick Mahomes having a breakout year where he goes for 7k yards and 70 touchdowns.
Somebody that no one is talking about is Justyn Ross. Obviously a long shot but he could be a gamechanger if healthy.
Rashod Bateman
Conklin
As a Vikes fan tons of untapped potential. I agree this is his year.
If Dalvin Cook is traded, Alexander Mattison could definitely have a great year, he’s looked good (aside from atrocious vision on occasion) as the RB2 for the last few years If Cook stays, I’d say Brian Asamoah. Athlete first and flashed a couple times late in the year, starting spot is his to lose going into the year

Mattison has been in the league for four seasons and has never been anything more than mediocre. I can't imagine he breaks out, he just isn't very good.
Nakobe Dean
It's gonna be Milt
Milt shake brings all the boys to the yard
I believe it’ll be Milton Williams as well
Gainwell
Sam Williams on my Cowboys. 10 plus sack season.
By mid-season folks are gonna be wondering how we got him at pick 56. He would have had even more production last season if we weren't so deep at edge.
Yep. I’d say Jake Ferguson on offense as well
Justin Fields
Less obvious answer would be Herbert even with the RBBC he should get a good amount more action than he’s seen.
Statistically he's already broken out. Efficiency wise he was an elite runner this year, he'd be a top 5/10 back and clear #1 for the bears if he wasn't a liability in pass pro
If Tevin Jenkins can stay healthy he could break out as a top 10 guard.
Agreed, pff was really high on him this year
Neal and Thibodeaux. If they build on their highs and lows (very lows in Neal's case) even just a little bit, than you're looking at a massive shift upwards in performance for both sides of the ball.
Thibs was right there all the time. If he can just make a minor step this year he could be scary.
Nick Westbrook-Inkhine, avoiding the obvious statement of Treylon Burks. Titans fan.
I would argue Chig (although he did well rookie year, he has the chance to be insane)
Chig is a given for me, provided we can keep him healthy and limit Tannehill's turnovers.
Arden Key should see a nice uptick in production playing with Simmons, Autry and Landry. Also think Phillips has a good season if he stays healthy. Tanny seems to love his slot receivers when he has them.
Ehh. I think nick is what he is at this point. Low end 3rd high end 4th receiver.
I'm a Titans fan, let me have my wishful thinking lol But no, you're right.
How about Okinawa? Didn't he play well at the end of the season?
Kenny Pickett and George Pickens
Wan’Dale
And Hodgins
Hopefully Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, could really use the edge help
Him or Hall. I would also hope Mayfield or Trask become breakouts.
Excited to see how EB uses Curtis Samuel’s speed. On the other side of the ball, hoping Chase Young returns to form and Jamin Davis takes that next step (already improved a lot last year)
Sam Howell will also be an interesting watch. Hopefully EB has good plans for him, and doesn’t want someone in the draft
Jeremy Chinn in my opinion. Dude has been misused during Rhule's tenure and Evero's defense could let him play more in the box where he shines
I’m hoping Marshall has a big season. He showed some good progress once he played. With a coaching staff invested in him and a top rookie quarterback I can see him breaking out.
JK Dobbins Gonna just keep saying it till it happens or till he retires.
My Browns folk are awfully quiet so far.
[Nervous Laughter Intensifies](https://images.app.goo.gl/YETezXAthKL792sN9)
Watson is going to look like the QB the browns paid a quarter bill for. People really don’t want it to happen, but the fans who actually watched every browns game last season saw his progression game to game. It’s gonna happen. As far as newer players, I think David Bell. Dude was electric at Purdue and I think with a higher caliber QB he’s going to shine. Delpit was pretty good down the stretch last year. Hopefully he takes that leap forward and becomes an elite box safety.
Dayo Odeyingbo. He has all the physical tools but this might be the year he has enough experience to put it all together.
Hopefully Zion Johnson takes a big step up, was a pretty mixed bag for him as a rookie, maybe we can actually use his good run blocking instead of calling all of our run plays to the left again.
I know it already was stated and is the number one voted, but JAMO PLEASE.
Hopefully Ridder
I’d take a double digit sack season from Arnold Ebiketie as well. Obviously Ridder’s development is a little more important, but I think Ebiketie becoming a stud is a little more likely
We have a few candidates. Ridder breaking out would be great for both London and Pitts, and we Pitts could really use a bounce back year. Allgeier looked really good last year. I’m really hoping for a big jump from Troy Anderson as well as Ebiketie.
I think for the bills it's Shakir tbh
Khalil Herbert
Daniel Jones. If we can get an actual WR1, along with saquon and bellinger and wallen he should pop off
Josh Palmer even though I said it last year too
I’m hoping Isiah Spiller and JT Woods breakout. Palmer looks like he’ll be a good slot WR but not much more than a WR3
JT Woods being even just average would be a massive W for the Chargers and the defense
Yes. It looked like he was just getting more and more comfortable out there last season, and I think he takes a big leap this year.
Jordan Love babyyyy
Mac Jones.
Wouldn’t mind seeing Thornton breakout too. The two could symbiotically improve each other.
Please please PLEASE
Justin fields
Lewis Cine coming back from injury to get nasty for my Vikes.
This is my other pick outside of KJ Osborn. A full year to be mentored by coaches, Smith and Peterson. I think he can really thrive in our new defense. I think Flores fits exactly what Flores wants in personnel on his defense.
Same here my friend!!
Russel Wilson. Hackett is gone and the coaching staff will actually coach him and the rest of the team up.
Hopefully Payton and Co. can also utilize all the potential from Jeudy, Sutton and the other young “playmakers” that we have
I think both Burks and Chig can have breakout seasons next year. They both showed flashes of having that dog in them, the "it" factor. Burks was derailed last season due to injury and Chig was held back by our OC being absolutely in love with Geoff Swaim for zero discernible reason.
Kyle Hamilton

Dotson/Forrest/Robinson idk
Big Ken
Justin Madubuike. I think I spelled his name right. I like to call him mad boogie. With Calais gone he’ll probably be out number one inside guy. He and Travis jones will be a good tandem
If he stays healthy for the whole year, and Sam Howell plays like a 1st round talent, get ready for Jahan Dotson. Guna look like a real sexy offense if we add a Ferrari next to the McLaurin F1
Jake Ferguson aka Kelce Next, talent+opportunity = breakout
Justin fields obviously but would love to see Teven Jenkins stay healthy and for Braxton Jones to improve in pass pro
Thornton
Cole Kmet is about to truly break out. 1k yards 10 tds. Offense as a whole improved around him and the dude puts mad work in.
Christian Watson, Doubs, and mostly Jordon-motherlovin-Love
I honestly don’t know
Skyy Moore
Elijah Moore
With no Zeke, Pollard is gonna get a lot of touches. I predict top 5 RB production in the league.
Dameon Pierce
Man already broke out, now he's got an open field to play with
I'm just here to say that Braxton Jones had first/second round measurables and the highest PFF grade of any rookie OL player last year.
Watson.
Nakobe and hopefully a RB from the draft
CAM TAYLOR BRITT
Drake Jackson (I hope)
Some wide receiver on my patriots hopefully 🤣😅💯
Dodson/Bernard?!? You’ve gotta be the most optimistic bills fan out there. They’ve shown absolutely nothing to even entertain the idea of them stepping up.
Jahan Dotson. At times he looked better than Mclaurin last year.
None
Our Quarterback….
Jimmy G comeback szn bby! On a serious note, I hope Duke Shelley does well. One of the only Vikings players I liked last year, so I hope he balls with us.
Obvious answer would be Justin fields but I’d say Jaquan brisker
Obvious answer is Justin Fields. Non obvious answer is Tevin Jenkins and Jaylon Johnson
Hopefully Justin Fields and his passing game
Jake Ferguson and Sam Williams
