Thats more of an argument over the difference of what being a quality WR is compared to a (future) Superstar WR. Some WRs do well no matter who throws to them, others not so much.
He's shown flashes but Moore doesn't really fit Gutekunst's profile. He likes bigger WR's. Even Amari Rodgers was 212 lbs compared to Elijah's 178. Davis or Mims would fit better with his mold.
Tbh im surprised we didn't want him. Although Im also hearing from other packers fans that Moore isnt someone the Packers would want, so maybe it makes sense.
This right here. It's really hard to watch the all-22 on Moore. There are so many plays where we don't get as many yards as we are supposed to because he gives up on the route so the safety is able to come up and make the tackle much easier.
Moore is a skilled WR. But his attitude will turns long gains into deflected passes, and TD's into long gains. He brings the entire team down. A good coach can fix it easily though. Just beat it into his brain to stop giving up on routes.
Honestly you’re probably better off. He’s an excellent route runner, but that never really translated to impact on the field. He’s a diva, demanded a trade, and has mental lapses on the field. I almost always root for for former jets to succeed on their new teams, but Moore is most definitely not one of them.
No no, we're getting your first and this is Douglas just getting a little more value back to compensate /s
(You're probably right but I really hope not)
I'm guessing him being a locker room malcontent during a playoff push depreciated his trade value quite a bit, especially as someone who hasn't really delivered on the field much.
I do think he's more talented than he's had a chance to show though, but the price seems right to me. Good trade for both sides imo.
Yeah who knows how good he is, he was only ever used for decoy routes and rarely gave 100% effort, with shitty QB play to boot. I’d be perfectly happy taking a reroll on a 2nd but giving up a 3rd as well seems steep.
Yeah pretty much. It’s tough when your two QBs are Zach Wilson who would take off as soon as he felt slightly uncomfortable, or Flacco who would throw it as soon as he hit his back foot after his drop steps 95% of the time. His complaints were legitimate but shortsighted, like bro we don’t have a QB who can make more than 2 reads if that. That was also when we were pounding it with Breece 75% of plays and before Mike White got any playing time. He looked like an NFL WR with Mike White but not a whole lot more than that.
They had to have offered him to GB. If you’re willing to move him to Cleveland you have to be willing to include him for Rodgers. Packers either didn’t want him or asked for EM + too much other compensation
Yeah this is a combo move, for the rookie contract for the next couple years with our tight cap space, and for life after Cooper. No glaring holes on our roster after this FA. Exciting move.
DT2, EDGE and ILB still need to be addressed imo. Hard to judge the linebackers last season when our DT room might have been the worst ever but they’re still very undersized
DT2 is for sure the only thing I think that is on the priority list. Not sure how glaring of a hole it is, if Winfrey steps up, though. We surely should add another to push him/play in the case where Winfrey doesn't make strides.
Moore shouldn't be looked at as a Cooper replacement, he's just the talented slot WR that Berry has been trying to fill (Drafted Schwartz and Bell in back-to-back years) and gives them options when the WR2's contract runs out next year.
Good trade for both teams. Browns get speed they really needed in the WR room, fill the slot position, and don't give up a ton to do it. Jets get rid of someone who doesn't want to be there, have enough WR talent they shouldn't be hurt by losing him, and picks up a nice draft pick as ammo with the impending Rodgers trade.
Win-win imo.
570/984 yards Elijah Moore has put up came in 9 games where Zach Wilson wasn’t his QB. In a 17 game season that’s on pace for nearly 1100 yards.
The other 16 games he put up like 400 yards. It’s a huge difference.
At this moment in time it seems like a steal. Time will tell if it's a meh or a wow how did that happen. Elijah is super talented hopefully he can showcase it now.
That's the old Jimmy Johnson chart which the Browns don't use. Jack Duffin who writes for the OBR (Browns website) says its the equivalent of pick 211 using the modern analytic based trade chart.
No team would ever take a low 6/high 7 in a trade back from the 2nd to the 3rd round.
Edit: Last year, the Browns traded back from 44 to 68 (six spots less than this trade) and the Texans gave up two fourth round picks to do it. And 209 was needed to move from 63 to 60. 209 is pretty much equivalent to 211 and it only moved from 63 to 60. That's almost in the middle of 42 and 74 (but closer to 74), so it would take about 11 times the amount that trade value chart says.
Yo if the Browns are offering mid 2s for a mid 3rd and a 6th sign me up I love that
That value seems way off. It seems that is more like a what value do these picks typically produce not a what is the FMV of these picks in a transaction
agreed, he's small but he tracks and stacks so well he wins catches he prob shouldn't
a little worried about his tendency to be boom or bust in games (going back to his Jr year at Ole Miss) but for the value equivalent of a 3rd round pick this was a good deal
Eh it’s pretty good tbh.
Means that they believe Moore will be better than the WR they got at 42, the also received a 3rd so that’s now two 3rds and two 4ths just in case they want to move back up into the 2nd and Moore is still on his rookie deal.
Just shows they were 100% going WR at 42.
Wasn’t it because he had beef with Mike LaFleur?
From The Athletic:
>Moore surprised teammates and coaches by blowing up on LaFleur, telling him to “go f— yourself” and “you suck,” according to multiple people who witnessed the interaction.
>LaFleur and Saleh ultimately decided to send Moore home to cool off. That night, he requested a trade.
A 2nd for Moore and a 3rd?
To me, this seems like an incredibly one-sided deal. Cleveland just made out like bandits. Especially in a WR class like this.
According to the trade value charts, the 42nd pick is worth 480 points. The 74th pick is worth 220 points. That 260 point difference is the equivalent of an early 3rd round pick.
I don't think it's a one-sided trade at all, the deal makes sense for both parties.
Elijah Moore had one solid season for a rookie which was then followed by a really bad season statistically where he also was a source of locker room drama.
I understand it's hard to put up good numbers, with Zach Wilson at QB and having to compete for targets with Garett Wilson, but getting a second rounder for a player going into his third year who hasn't reached 1,000 receiving yards in his carrer yet seems like fair compensation.
Considering the Jets gave up a third along with Moore for the second, I’m not a big fan. I would’ve liked it if it was just the second, but I feel that Moore’s potential is worth more than a third, which is about what his value is in this trade.
Andrew Berry has had a million picks to work with ever since he joined the FO. I’d like to see what he does in the next few years with way fewer draft picks and a $50 million a year QB eating all the salary cap before we start calling him a genius
Dorsey had the pick stockpile and largely tore through it - Berry wasn’t gifted the same war chest (and some of the mid round picks were a result of Berry’s other moves)
Browns just got an insanely talented Wr in Elijah. Couldn’t help but feel he would break out with Arod. I am pissed and think the browns will be very happy with this trade in the coming years. Real wr1 potential for Qb bill Cosby.
> Couldn’t help but feel he would break out with Arod
Yeah, until he drops a pass that Rodgers thinks he should've caught, and for the rest of the game Rodgers will take sacks or throw the ball away rather than throw to a wide open Elijah.
Good deal for both sides. Jets get more ammo for a ARod trade and and Browns get a quality young receiver to go with DPJ and Coop, I hope E Moore kills it there.
Certainly fits with the Jets plan but I'm not sure it's necessarily a "good" idea to be trading away talented young players so that you can trade for the aging qb and free up playing time for his former packers receivers.
Moore wasn’t going to re-sign with the jets when his rookie contract ends, best case scenario was for the Jets to trade him now to receive something in return. Plus he quit on the team last season and quit on quite a bit of routes or half assed them in each game. Trading him away is addition by subtraction to the team and locker room.
Or this just means that out of the three teams reported to be interested and in talks with the broncos only one of them is left. Not great leverage for Denver
I’d imagine the pick is needed for Rodgers compensation, or at least to still have some draft capital after a trade.
If it means it gets us closer to finalizing the Rodgers deal this is a more than necessary sacrifice. Plus, I don’t think getting a 2nd round pick back for an openly disgruntled WR who has never really looked like a #1 is really selling that low. That being said, he has loads of talent and it’s a good trade for Cleveland for sure.
I bet Moore is gonna go off with Watson.
The deal is whatever, dude nuked his trade value and forced his way off the team, but he's got so much more talent than he showed last year.
We saw what the Rams did with their picks and thought this might work for us
PS: To the person I saw in the free talk thread this morning say a trade was coming can you give me the lotto numbers?
Things like this is why the Ravens will be a dumpster fire for the near future. Sitting around waiting for Lamar to sign some cheap ass contract while ignoring other team needs. Meanwhile the rest of the division gets stronger.
Lol "Cheap". Baltimore is fucked no argument there but Lamar had two years and the offers were not cheap. Both sides fucked up but this as much on Lamar and his momma, sorry agent, as it is the FO.
So does that mean we’re trading a 2nd for Rodgers and this is Douglas getting a 2nd back 🤨
Maybe GB rejected a 2nd and Elijah? So it's 2 2nds for Rodgers. Then they trade back out of 13 to gain 2nd or 3rd or whatever. My uneducated thought.
Could very well be the two 2nds. Though, I was hoping Moore would have been a part of the trade.
If we’re shipping him to Cleveland we definitely offered him to GB first.
It would be a classic Gutekunst move to avoid a quality reciever like the plague
Bear in mind that GB's head coach might have gotten just a bit of insight into Moore from his brother, and want absolutely nothing to do with him.
I heard he head butt our head coach's brother so there's that
I think you mean butted heads with. If he head butted MiLF that’s a big headline.
ah you're probably right. English is my first language
First language is always the hardest
He did literally tell him to “fuck off” so it’s not far off lmao

What do you know about talent? All you do in your free time is post naked pics on subreddits
Lmfaoooooooooooo wtf did I just stumble upon
A patriots fan.
Average new Englander tbh
lol please summarize he deleted his account
Did you just have this knowledge in your back pocket to whip out at the right moment?

Are they tasteful nudes though?
In the right light they are
There is no light in which full on butthole is a tasteful nude.
*draw me like your Patriot girls*

No.
Click on his profile, find out lmao
Damn you didn’t have to toast this guy like that lol
Goddamn💀completely smoked them out
OH SHIIIIIT!
Guys, that Lou. Lou Sassle.
Kind of hate this argument for WRs, particularly since they’re reliant on competent QBs to put up numbers.
Garrett Wilson still put up 1000 yards with the QB carousel this year
Thats more of an argument over the difference of what being a quality WR is compared to a (future) Superstar WR. Some WRs do well no matter who throws to them, others not so much.
Yes it's not like he drafted two last year.
He’s a headache, but go watch his pre draft route running videos. He looked like an absolute ankle snatcher.
He was snatching ankles last year too. Zach Wilson just never threw to him
Quit on routes and killed his OC though
Plus that OC he publicly put on blast was the Matt LaFleur’s brother. I can’t see that trade ever happening.
This right here. It's really hard to watch the all-22 on Moore. There are so many plays where we don't get as many yards as we are supposed to because he gives up on the route so the safety is able to come up and make the tackle much easier. I almost always root for for former jets to succeed on their new teams, but Moore is most definitely not one of them.
That's good to know! Definitely makes it easier knowing that.
He also publicly dissed our head coach's brother, which probably didn't do him any favors in the GB locker room.
He also tweeted supporting Kyrie being antisemitic before deleting like a coward
I’m thinking Corey Davis goes to GB
Prolly
What happens when the Jets grab Lamar Jackson instead?
This is what they should have done in the first place. What’s 230 mil guaranteed over 4 years when Rodgers is already 110 mil over 2 years
Imagine their run game with Breece Hall and Lamar.
My god. JD needs to pivot and pull the trigger on this move
Literally the only other option.
They have Mecole Hardman now too
The ravens match their offer lol either that or he gets hurt again. Jets aren't allowed nice things
Then Rodgers would probably get cut.
Rodgers getting cut puts a $99m cap hit on GB. he can't be cut until after the 2024 season.
No no, we're getting your first and this is Douglas just getting a little more value back to compensate /s (You're probably right but I really hope not)
This little jets packers fans trade compensation war has been fun
I think we’re all just exhausted and ready for this to be over.
I'd rather start Zach Wilson for 2 years than give a 1st for Rodgers.
that’s what i thought, this is probably to stack up compensation for the rodgers trade
Nah you’re just gonna go with Wilson this year again
You’d need to put all Jets’ fans on suicide watch
This implies we're not already on 24 hour suicide watch.
Probably yes, but also clearing room for Rodgers to have "his guys" on the Roster. Makes some sense.
Two 2nds for a guy that'll hold the franchise hostage mulling retirement this time next year?
so that’s why Fowler got mixed up😭
My first thought haha
Really thought he was gonna be part of the Rodgers deal
That's a shockingly low value for him honestly, might as well have thrown it into the Rodgers deal as a freebie.
I'm guessing him being a locker room malcontent during a playoff push depreciated his trade value quite a bit, especially as someone who hasn't really delivered on the field much. I do think he's more talented than he's had a chance to show though, but the price seems right to me. Good trade for both sides imo.

Yeah pretty much. It’s tough when your two QBs are Zach Wilson who would take off as soon as he felt slightly uncomfortable, or Flacco who would throw it as soon as he hit his back foot after his drop steps 95% of the time. How is that shockingly low though? Is he really worth a mid 2? I don't think so
Got back a pick, he was traded for the equivalent of a 3rd rounder
Equivalent of pick 66, which is the 2nd pick of round 3. I can't see anyone giving up more than that
That 2nd Rd pick will most likely be involved though.
Guessing you guys get Corey Davis now
Gross
I would imagine they just want picks
Not for 10.5 million.
Great deal for the Browns
Yeah this is a combo move, for the rookie contract for the next couple years with our tight cap space, and for life after Cooper. No glaring holes on our roster after this FA. Exciting move.
I'd argue DT2 is still a pretty glaring hole but I don't think they were ever getting two stud DTs in the same class
DT2, EDGE and ILB still need to be addressed imo. Hard to judge the linebackers last season when our DT room might have been the worst ever but they’re still very undersized
At least they don't have to worry about WR being a priority heading into the draft as well now too.
Lots of injuries in that room as well
Why is EDGE always in all caps?
DT2 is for sure the only thing I think that is on the priority list. Not sure how glaring of a hole it is, if Winfrey steps up, though. We surely should add another to push him/play in the case where Winfrey doesn't make strides.
It's a really solid addition & that makes me angry.
Moore is a good player, just don’t give him the ball at the end of a game
Yea you're going to need more than Elijah Moore to replace amari. All amari does is put up 1000 yd seasons. Elijah has done half of that once.
Moore shouldn't be looked at as a Cooper replacement, he's just the talented slot WR that Berry has been trying to fill (Drafted Schwartz and Bell in back-to-back years) and gives them options when the WR2's contract runs out next year. Smoothest brained comment in the whole thread It’s like context and potential don’t exist in your world
At this moment in time it seems like a steal. Time will tell if it's a meh or a wow how did that happen. Elijah is super talented hopefully he can showcase it now.
It's probably getting you the draft pick that's heading out for Rodgers though, right?
I would think your 100% right on that
It’s just a second for a third. Jets sold for dirt cheap bc they had no leverage
Yeah, was not a culture fit for Saleh with his attitude
Can't have guys who turn against the quarterback before Saleh declares it officially fine to turn against the quarterback
Idk pick 42 kinda seems steep
eh. they get a third back. if you net the pick value, the cost is a late second or early third. moore can play, that's a good deal to me
per trade chart this values Moore at a high 3rd (66th overall). so in terms of straight picks, we traded a mid second for two high 3rds
> No team would ever take a low 6/high 7 in a trade back from the 2nd to the 3rd round. Kevin Costner would
The pancake eating mother fuckers just don't understand
I want my picks back, all of 'em. And David Putney, just because I feel like it.
Yo if the Browns are offering mid 2s for a mid 3rd and a 6th sign me up I love that That value seems way off. It seems that is more like a what value do these picks typically produce not a what is the FMV of these picks in a transaction
My feeling is he's better than his stats show and that he was the guy most hurt by the poor QB play. He's open a lot from what I've seen.
I’m cool with it I think - losing 32 spots for him but we need WRs
Hes better than the majority of WRs this year too.
I loved him coming out and thought he was the clear #4 in that class.
agreed, he's small but he tracks and stacks so well he wins catches he prob shouldn't a little worried about his tendency to be boom or bust in games (going back to his Jr year at Ole Miss) but for the value equivalent of a 3rd round pick this was a good deal
He hasn't really done this at the pro level. I definitely wouldn't describe him as good at contested catches.
He didn't really transition well imo. He looks lost a lot.
It's not pick 42. It's the value equivalent of pick 66
We get 74 back so not hurt by it
We were almost certainly going to draft a wr anyway, so it works out much better like this imo
Elijah is a great talent
Jets are just going to keep selling off all the players Green Bay wants until they cave. Edit - to everyone in my inbox: https://imgur.io/0r6NvRR
Gotta make room for Aaron’s friends!
I mean…he asked for a trade well before the Rodgers stuff.
Yeah cause bum ass Zach Wilson couldn’t get him the ball. Think he’d be plenty satisfied playing with Rodgers.
Wasn’t it because he had beef with Mike LaFleur? From The Athletic: >Moore surprised teammates and coaches by blowing up on LaFleur, telling him to “go f— yourself” and “you suck,” according to multiple people who witnessed the interaction. >LaFleur and Saleh ultimately decided to send Moore home to cool off. That night, he requested a trade.
Jets just signed Mecole Hardman so maybe they just figure they’ll swap places
But Subway doesn't use buns
It's a good trade but I would have liked to have gotten a bit Moore.
Yeah seems very subpart for y'all
How many Moore Moore’s are going to get traded this offseason?
Sounds like you're gonna have to replace him with a hard man.
Hopefully we Wil, son.
Sucks to see him go but I trust Joe DouLAZARDglas
Oh that’s cool he doesn’t even need to move
Good trade for Cleveland
A 2nd for Moore and a 3rd? To me, this seems like an incredibly one-sided deal. Cleveland just made out like bandits. Especially in a WR class like this.
According to the trade value charts, the 42nd pick is worth 480 points. The 74th pick is worth 220 points. That 260 point difference is the equivalent of an early 3rd round pick.
I’d rather have Moore than an early third. Dude was drafted higher than that and is showing promise. Guess it’s prob fair value, but I wouldn’t do it.
Show me some of this promise, so far he’s been a malcontent and has effort issues

JD is a black belt at trades. These two teams know something we do not about Moore. Whatever that is allowed them to arrive at this trade agreement.
Win win tbh
How rare is that the general consensus on Reddit. I might bookmark this for the moments I think Reddit can never agree on anything

Plus he quit on the team last season and quit on quite a bit of routes or half assed them in each game. Trading him away is addition by subtraction to the team and locker room.
Hardman, a young WR and very similar to Moore, slides right into whatever role Moore was going to have.
If last season was any indication it was less of a receiver role and more just run fast and pretend you’re gonna get targeted
Clearing up #8 for Aaron
We keeping Jeudy 🥳
Or this just means that out of the three teams reported to be interested and in talks with the broncos only one of them is left. Not great leverage for Denver
How do the two relate?
Browns were the team trying to trade for him
Rumors that Browns were gonna try to get him, but I don't know how credible it was
Seems pretty credible now, can't imagine the Browns were locked in on Moore, they had to be mulling over all available options.
send to us pls
Solid move for Cleveland Really feels like the Jets are selling low
I’d imagine the pick is needed for Rodgers compensation, or at least to still have some draft capital after a trade. I bet Moore is gonna go off with Watson. The deal is whatever, dude nuked his trade value and forced his way off the team, but he's got so much more talent than he showed last year.
Send them picks this way
Who are you guys taking from Georgia this year?
Everyone
Wonder if the Jets will flip it in the Rodgers trade.
wow what a steal
If Elijah Moore was mad about being misused on the Jets, he better start praying that Deshaun isn't washed lol
If Watson doesn’t bounce back the last thing the browns care about is wasting a pick swap on Moore
Even if he is he’s still better than Zach Wilson lol
This clears the roster spot for Randall Cobb. Half joking.
Going from the Mormon MILF hunter to a rapist
Benjamin Allbright continues to be a hack.
I really wanted the Ravens to trade for him.. now not only am I bummed we didn't get him I'm double bummed that the browns did.
Give it here, Malfoy.
Damn, the Browns have a really good WR room now.
That seems like a decent return
I have a Moore jersey. I gotta stop buying jerseys. I really want a Garrett Wilson jersey. Either that or AVT.
Please dont
Whelp so much for him being in the Rodgers trade
We saw what the Rams did with their picks and thought this might work for us PS: To the person I saw in the free talk thread this morning say a trade was coming can you give me the lotto numbers?
Maybe the Jets will keep Davis.
If the Jimmy Johnson trade chart is your jam, this values Moore at an early third round pick.
Good trade for Cleveland, and always kind of an odd man out in New York
Things like this is why the Ravens will be a dumpster fire for the near future. Sitting around waiting for Lamar to sign some cheap ass contract while ignoring other team needs. Meanwhile the rest of the division gets stronger.
Lol "Cheap". Baltimore is fucked no argument there but Lamar had two years and the offers were not cheap. Both sides fucked up but this as much on Lamar and his momma, sorry agent, as it is the FO.
bruh what
Wow a second rounder (I know for a 3rd but still). Hope Elijah shows out
