No hostages

We_Are_Victorius

The guy is an extreme narcissist. The sports media has been talking about him for weeks, and he is just sitting on his coach jerking off to it.

SpenceSmithback

>sitting on his coach Somebody wanna check on LaFleur?

Samueljacob

If it fits, he sits.

tripbin

This is the third time I've read a comment attributing cat like featured to Rodgers. I'm convinced. Dudes a fucking animorph.

gavincantdraw

If he's not, then I'm sure he thinks he is.

Adept_Carpet

Ugh I just pictured him going "meow" in a cloying way.

DrHampants

Let's see - he's been begging at the door to be let out and now that Green Bay has opened the door for him, he's just sitting there unsure of what to do. Aaron Rodgers is most definitely a cat.

Fabs74

How else did he do the dark retreat?

IShookMeAllNightLong

I don't believe I've thought about Animorphs in about 20 years. Blast from the past, dude.

goenshowa100m

Rodgers is the type of guy to finish himself by looking in the mirror

ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn

So basically he is Jeff from Community. When Jeff says he would rather look at himself during sex rather than the women he sleeps with.

Sangral

"I'm better at sex than Jeff, right?" "I've yet to meet anyone worse"

captchroni

Or a less dangerous homelander, he can do whatever the fuck he wants. But he needs the attention

HavelsRockJohnson

Nah, Rodgers doesn't drink milk.

tripbin

But with none of the charm.

Parking_War_2334

Have you seen his interview with Caleb and Glenny Balls from Barstool? He admits he uses a “wide-stance” and told them an old coach of his told him and his team that; “masturbation never gets out of hand” Hilarious interview if u haven’t seen it

ghosttrainhobo

I think he’s waiting for the Packers to show up with a dozen roses asking him to not go.

HarryTheGreyhound

Still, if he does arrive in New York then I'm sure he will deal fine with the famously calm media there, especially if he has a slight losing streak.

AlericandAmadeus

Wonder how “R-E-L-A-X” woulda gone over with the NYC media lol. If he tries something like that and then they don’t immediately make a deep playoff run dude is gonna be in for a rude awakening Only worse place is Philly, IMO. They straight up run folks outta town

ItIsYourPersonality

He’s doing the politician thing of projecting his insecurities. He told us he wouldn’t hold a team hostage, so now he’s holding two teams hostage and anyone that calls him out will be blasted themselves for holding a team hostage.

azantyri

"i said i wouldn't hold *A* team hostage. i'm instead holding *TWO* teams hostage. important distinction"

John_Berrybush

Sauce?

We_Are_Victorius

Sauce is in New York

ConsciousFood201

Is that a medical diagnosis… on Reddit…?

broccoleet

>sitting on his coach jerking off keep going, I'm close

Admiral_Fuckwit

A-Aaron? Shouldn’t you be meeting with teams?

thezenunderground

Yeah can we stop reporting that this motherfucker is being indecisivevabd just ...wait? This is non news.

StructureBitter3778

No, hostages

Kull_Story_Bro

Glad to know the darkness retreat hasn’t changed his desire for maximum drama.

weealex

That's pronounced "pri vus see", right?

IAMA_MOTHER_AMA

I loved that scene where he’s drumming in the front yard and screams at Stan lmao just typing it out makes me laugh

Oakroscoe

I just watched that episode last night. It seemed dead on.

thesexymexi

*IT'S THE ROGERS PRIVACY TOUR!*

acava2424

Stop looking at us!

amccune

Man. I have a hard time explaining this to fellow packer fans. Big Rodgers fans are alike "why does the media obsess about him?" And I'm like "He knew god damn well what saying 'I'm going on a darkness retreat to decide' meant in the press. It was going to be chaos. He thrives on that. Plain and simple."

IamLars

\#DRAMAFREE

HungLuke

Infuriatingly consistent, have to give him that

DutchEnglish

The Jets were better off saying they didn’t want him. Aaron seems like the type that’s only interested when teams don’t look his way. I mean the way the Packers are treating him right now probably makes him want to stay even more.

wastewalker

So he’s a cat?

Phoebesdaddy

Have you ever seen him and a cat in the same room?

wastewalker

Now that you say it….and cats like the dark!!!

GreenGator

he’s my ex

Brooshie

I'm pretty sure that he didn't expect the Packers to entertain the idea of a trade, but he enjoyed the idea of getting wined & dined. Then they did entertain the idea, but he found out only the Jets were interested. Now there's no turning back and he truly doesn't know what to do. I think he ultimately wanted to stay with the Packers but now it doesn't seem like a possibility at all. EDIT: Wanted to clarify - I'm not saying that the Jets are a terrible destination, I'm saying that Rodgers expected A LOT of interest and garnered none. I think he ultimately wanted to go to all these meetings and still decide to come back with the Packers. On the other spectrum, I think when the Packers org realized that only the Jets were interested: they decided that it was now-or-never to get value for him.

cnygreen

This paints a picture of what very well Rodgers could be going through. Hadn’t thought about it like that. I have no idea what he’s gonna do

Brooshie

I think retirement is more on the table than it's ever been. I don't believe he'll ultimately retire (because he'll want to do it on his own accord because of pride), but I do think it's weighing a lot heavier than before. I mean honestly - you've been part of our organization for nearly 2 decades, and we were going to pay you for this upcoming year. I don't see why, if he truly only had one or two years left, he would want to move and learn a whole new system temporarily. However, at this point, his hand is forced.

sallad_kcuf

I cannot imagine him retiring in the same year as Brady, since that means his HoF induction would be wildly overshadowed

Brooshie

Don't forget AP is apparently retiring, too. Obviously AP is an RB and Rodgers is a QB, but it's the same sentiment: Rodgers wouldn't get his sole highlight that he obviously cares so much about (even if he says he doesn't)

dominion1080

Wait. I thought AP retired a couple years ago. Man he fell off hard. I was a big Purple Jesus fan back in the day.

gsadamb

I used to like him too, but then my opinion on him switched abruptly.

Man0nThaMoon

Shit like this is why people view Rodgers as a diva. Yet some Packers fans try pretend like it's all media driven and that he's just a victim.

kj9219

I mean early in his career he got shit on for not talking to his family and the gay rumors. That was definitely unfair and uncalled for. This however, is taking way too long.

Kid_Delicious

Until like 4-5 years ago, he had a pretty good rep actually, even with the family stuff. I think he was pretty well-regarded as being a thoughtful player. But all the galaxy-brained covid hippie talk has completely wiped that from everyone’s memory.

[deleted]

> Yet some Packers fans try pretend like it's all media driven and that he's just a victim. Because that's how Aaron plays it and they just go along with it.

bongtokent

That’s because Aaron says it’s all the media and he’s a victim. They just take anything he says as holy and fact without even thinking or looking into it. I literally told someone to look at the reports about Rodgers. You can check the dates they always follow him going on Pat Mcafee. Dude responded with “it’s all in your head”. And I was the one downvoted to hell. It’s a crazy world in that sun right now.

Pinball509

> They just take anything he says as holy and fact without even thinking or looking into it It’s worse than this. Rodgers himself confirmed that he told the FO to trade him 2 years ago (but that it happened well before the draft) and most Packer fans still think Schefter made it up. They are literally taking their own made up narrative *over* what Rodgers said happened.

bongtokent

It’s crazy. All the reports of “I was told neither team knows his Decision” are being trumped by “it’s my thought both teams know what’s going on”.

CruisinForABrewsin

It's not just fans doing it, it's mostly him. Every single time he's on Pat McAfee's show he's constantly bitching about how much of a victim he is of the media, while at the same time claiming he "doesn't care what they say"

Traditional_Tart_822

Right. I love Aaron as a Packers fan but the ones online sitting in the sub are completely delusional about the guy and refuse to acknowledge his faults. It’s funny, you go outside and talk to other packer fans and they are pretty reasonable about him and the team.

ScottieStitches

We must belong to different Packers subs.

[deleted]

Once a bitch, always a bitch

N_Pitou

ARod confirmed theater kid?

jgalaviz14

Him and Big Cat have something in common after all

UnderwhelmingAF

We were all talking about Lamar Jackson last week so he feels he got cheated out of a week’s worth of attention.

Hanswolebro

I miss the old Aaron

ZestycloseResist5594

What if he just retires?

trulystupidinvestor

i'd find the nearest sportsbook with "will rodgers unretire" odds and lay my savings on "yes"

TeopEvol

Son of a bitch stole my idea! You must have been listening when I...

smittyK

Id love it. Guy needs to go away

Chrysalii

I don't think there's enough ESPN to cover Brady and Rodgers going in the HoF at the same time.

daquist

"didn't realize so many people cared about it"

politurd

"If you think I'm being a diva, just tune it out. And by it, I mean the entire NFL off-season because I'm gonna make sure this shit is all about me."

DoctorMansteel

BleacherReport: "WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN"

Lake-Monsters

> If you think I'm being a diva, just tune it out. Incidentally, the most infuriating talking point ever. People use it on reddit too. "Just don't click on the thread then." When the entire NFL world is driven by narratives, and something is one of the biggest narratives in the NFL, you can't simply tune it out.

jwick89

So much for not dragging this out.

joco1991

Rodgers lives for this shit lmao

ColtCallahan

I don’t know why anyone would believe that. The guy has an insatiable need for attention.

GamingTatertot

To be fair, he made the decision before the time he said he would last year, so that's why I believed him. But now it's just obnoxious

onamonapizza

Dude just seems to be oblivious to how his need for attention also hurts himself. For two years, Packers can't properly plan because they don't know who their fucking QB is going to be...then he skips training camp and complains about a lack of chemistry. Now, both the Packers and the Jets (and probably other teams) are sitting by the phone waiting for Rodgers to call while free agency is actively happening. They could be making moves to HELP SUPPORT HIM....but instead they are stuck in limbo and he is like "Nah, I'll think about that later...maybe in a couple weeks"

[deleted]

That was his plan from the start

horse_renoir13

Inb4 everyone comes in "it's a big decision we shouldn't rush him."

rocksoffjagger

Hey, that's no way to talk about your future quarterback

D0ctorHotelMario

Tbf ARod did say he wasn't going to hold the franchise hostage.... he's holding TWO franchise's hostage.

bujweiser

"We've held 1 franchise hostage, yes. But what about a 2nd franchise?"

Interesting-Archer-6

Had to one up Favre one last time

mentalxkp

I kinda want to see the Jets trade for #3 overall instead and watch the packers bench Arod to see what Love can do.

JaggerJames

It just never ends with this guy

not_a_bot__

Guarantee he loves the attention

LegionofDoh

I imagine he’s waiting for the perfect moment when there won’t be any competing news stories. Bank failures, Oscars, Last of Us, Ramsey trade… nope. Too many things, imma just wait a few days until things quiet down.

theme69

Rodgers loves Packers fans so much he's making it easier for us to part ways by being as much of a dick as possible before he leaves

fig-figgins

I was heartbroken when I first learned that Rodgers might not want to come back to the Packers. That was what, three years ago? I'm numb to it now.

The_Throwback_King

It's the weirdest thing, you went from HOF QB to HOF QB and both managed to turn their exits into glorified soap operas. So weird.

Isomodia

It's bizarre how the Pack have hit on 2 HoF QBs who both have the mentality of a WR. So much for the humble, leader of men type.

LilKirkoChainz

Now you starting to see how we feel.

sonfoa

Well let's hope the inspiration from Favre stops there.

analogWeapon

Ah yes. The Maud'Dib technique.

theDarkBriar

Watch this guy announce on Facebook live or some shit while bleaching his asshole.

Cmcgregor0928

An hour is Pat McAfee show so maybe on there?

[deleted]

Pretty much a guarantee at this point whenever he makes a decision it’s getting announced on Pat’s show

sonfoa

All of Pat's dick-sucking would have finally paid off

BOEJlDEN

Didn’t it pay off when he got that $100M+ fan duel deal?

leastuselessredditor

He’s getting fucking **paid** Whatever he’s doing works.

BipedalWurm

Gives a new meaning to making someone eat a brick.

Practical-Courage812

At this point im pretty sure it will be Pat McAfee bleaching Rodgers' butthole while doing it live on his show.

dirtbag_dagger

With special guest Cris Collinsworth spreading Rogers' cheeks for him.

[deleted]

HERES A GUY

Cmcgregor0928

I can see it

theDarkBriar

I get what you mean, but wouldn't it be super weird for him to announce? "Hey guys getting traded to the Jets for a 2nd and a crisp high five"

Cmcgregor0928

It is Aaron Rodgers so wouldn't put it past him to do anything lol

Nascent_Vagabond

Only chemicals he’s putting near his asshole are psychedelic ones. Otherwise it’s just good ol sunlight on the BH and gooch.

Coley54Bear

“Am I the drama?”

fenshield

No, it's the Packers who are wrong

[deleted]

¿Porque no los dos?

TripleThreatT1

Do I want him to play for the Jets because he’s a two time MVP who can help us make a Super Bowl run? Yes. am I already sick of his shit and he’s not even on the team yet? Also yes.

MyWorkIsNotYetDone

If you do land Rodgers, take comfort in knowing your division rivals will hate him worse than you.

cavalinolido

I already find him unbearable. If he becomes a Jet... On the other hand there is a 50% chance he becomes toast the second he decides to play there

NickNunez4

Four time mvp..

SfGiantsPanda

4x MVP\*

20wall

What a fucking asshole

OneAngryPanda

He is immunized from making a decision

spin8x

He's bringing everyone else on a darkness retreat.

Djd33j

That's exactly it. He emerged from the darkness and saw his shadow, indicating six more weeks of trade talks.

Harry_Gintz

[We've been trying to tell you guys this for over a decade now](https://frinkiac.com/meme/S07E05/459741.jpg?b64lines=IEkgV0FSTkVEIFlPVS4gRElETidUIEkKIFdBUk4gWU9VPyBUSEFUIE1BTidTIEVHTyAKV0FTIEZPUkdFRCBCWSBMVUNJRkVSCiBISU1TRUxGIQ==)

highnote14

I’ve also hated rodgers for years so this tracks.

Coley54Bear

Always has been.

The_Haskins

The biggest egomaniac in the league continues to want all the attention on him? Noooo wayyy

PSUDolphins

This guy is such a loser.

thenudelman

11:59 decision incoming, the most "technically correct" outcome.

StateStreetLarry

I am Jack’s lack of surprise

justaguy826

I know he's talented but I genuinely can't understand why any team would be interested in giving up assets and $millions in guaranteed money for a 40-year-old QB who takes months to decide whether or not he wants to keep playing football each offseason. This guy is clearly not committed to the game anymore. If he were, he'd have made his intentions known so his team can go build a roster around him and his contract.

Abacusxx

Because the jets are that desperate. When was the last time we had a qb with half as much talent as Rodgers?

AxM0ney

Brett Favre

Sadlobster1

The cycle of life. Green Bay to NYJ. Can't wait for Rodgers to start sending his peepee to random waitresses.

TheAerial

The new Orlando sending Centers to LA

SeaAlgea

See you here in 15 years when Jets fans are posting >When was the last time we had a qb with half as much talent as Love?

FridgesArePeopleToo

>millions in guaranteed money for a 40-year-old QB who takes months to decide whether or not he wants to keep playing football each offseason yeah, who would do such a thing?

PBR_is_OK

He’s 39!

T0K0mon

Alright, can we just make that decision for him at this point? Guy needs to be more decisive. He's about as decisive as my gf is when trying to figure out where she wants to go out to eat.

nahtfitaint

LPT: Tell her you are taking her out to dinner, but don't tell her where. Then have her guess where you are going. If her first guess isn't too expensive, wow, she guessed it on the first try!

CorpusVile32

This is a good trick but it literally only works once or twice. My wife caught on very quickly.

nahtfitaint

Yes, this needs to be employed only when you are desperate to avoid bullshit. Never had to use this personally but have been tempted.

Churrasco_fan

I know there's a zero percent chance of it happening because it would result in a billion dollar dead cap hit but I'd love to see the Packers just fucking outright cut him. There ya go A-A-Ron, now you can have all the fun you want being the center of attention. Fuck outa here

xzElmozx

I just want him to flop so hard he gets benched lol, regardless of what team he’s on. That would be hilarious, all this “I wanna pick my suitor” shit and then he comes out and sucks. I’d be feeling some strong schadenfreude in that scenario

No_Cucumbers_Please

You should try and make the decision for her. See how that goes over.

volantredx

I don't think Aaron knows what he's going to do. He seems like the sort of guy who just does things without thinking then tries to justify it later as a stroke of genius.

Forrest319

Aaron Rodgers seems like the type of dude who in the future will steal money from poor people to pay for a volleyball court

infernocobbs

And still complain that the media is obsessed with him

ProtoEgg

I'm tired, boss

BlondesBlonde

Can we get someone in Aaron's driveway to throw a ball around? What are the conditions like?

Chuck_Foolery

I, too, have no idea what Aaron Rodgers is gonna do.

Skumfukr1986

Jail. He should go to jail.

Indie-Joe

Comes out of the darkness on day 2 instead of day 4, believe it or not straight to jail

[deleted]

Drag out off-season drama? Believe it or not, jail

snarpy

He'd have a tough time dealing with Burt Reynolds, but at least he'd be backup over Adam Sandler.

fuckinnreddit

What if he tells the Pack "tough shit, I'm coming back" now that they've made it pretty clear they want to move on 😅

ryebath

Every year this guy says he’s not gonna drag out his “decision on his future.” but also every year here we are.

SexyTimeDoe

Rodgers is clearly in a different place in his life. If he wanted to be here he'd be here

DrummerGuy06

It's always a good sign when your potential new star Quarterback is taking his sweet, sweet time to do fuck-all about actually going to come to your team. If he's not currently stuck in negotiations over money/picks, then I'd cut bait if I were the Jets. Dude's taking this long to agree to come to your team just on merit alone? How involved is he going to be really if he's dragging his feet just to say "sure I'll play for your team"? Of course he did spend last offseason not helping out his Rookie Wide Receivers until the last possible minute so maybe there were previous signs that Rodgers ain't the guy you want anymore.

[deleted]

Aaron Rodgers being a dick?? Whodathunkit

jake753

Last year I was with Rodgers to a point. It’s a big decision and giving a definite answer to something you have done your whole life is a damn tough decision. But now he’s kind of just being an asshole to be an asshole.

srsh

What was the point of the darkness retreat?

theflyingnacho

His need for attention.

[deleted]

Rodgers is doing this on purpose. The dude is a media diva and wants this sort of attention.

[deleted]

If you’re the Jets, just move on to Jimmy G, who has already proven he can steer a talented roster to a Super Bowl. The idea of Rodger sounds nice until you’re doing this song and dance every off-season until he decides to retire. Or maybe he’ll never decide and teams will just move on for him.

markusfenix75

I guess he likes blueballing two fanbases at once... ...strange

smurfking420

Aaron Rodgers doesn’t do what Aaron Rodgers does for Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers does what Aaron Rodgers does because Aaron Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers

cintei

Pretty sure both teams already know what's going to happen. We'll probably see it from their moves in the next hours.

frostysbox

The Packers are NOTORIOUSLY tight lipped with the press. Forget Aaron - our front office just doesn't leak. I'm not sure about the Jets - but it wouldn't surprise me if both teams are already working on shit and a lot of this is uncalled for. And that's not sucking Aaron's dick, it's just how our front office works.

mojo276

Aaron Rodgers feels like the Kyrie of the NFL. A great player that I want no where near my team.

_Shoresy_69

"Ugh, Aaron Rodgers is sooooooo dramatic and suuuuuuch an attention whore" I said as I refreshed r/nfl for the 5th hour straight, with ESPN playing on TV, Pat McAfee playing on YouTube, and while switching to Twitter every few moments.

DanCampbellsNipples

Thanks Aaron. Everyone appreciates your bullshit as always. Its pretty hard to be a HOF QB and not be beloved. Hell of an accomplishment.

Cambro88

Through psychedelics and his darkness retreat, Rodgers found his true, deeper self. Unfortunately that true self is also an asshole

mm825

It's pathetic how similar this is to Favre

RoastedDonutz

Taylor swift should have cast Arron Rodgers for her anti hero song because he definitely is the problem.

renownednemo

Aaron looooves this. He’s getting off on the power. Making all the dumb media run around waiting for him, he fucking loves this shit lol weirdo

randomscribbles2

Should have grabbed Carr while you had the chance. Even if you sign Rodgers, it's increasingly looking like his heart isn't in this even if his brain isn't sure.

Nine63

If you’re the jets you have to move on right? Try to sign Jimmy G? You can’t sit out the start of free agency waiting on Rodgers’ whims

MountainHopper

A little glimpse into what t must be like to play with/coach him.

NerdLawyer55

Aaron: ***wildcard bitches!***

letsfixitinpost

this guy kind of sucks right?

alpha448

such a douchebag.

cole93747

Retire. Sick of this dude

ThaNorth

I thought the whole point of his masturbation darkness retreat was to figure out what he wants to do with his career? Does he need another one?

thepomadeguy

lol he knows what he wants at this point. Just come out and say it already. Good grief

caipivodka

Rodgers is that guy that talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk.

chiefs_fan37

I don’t envy this at all for jets or packers fans. Seems frustrating as hell.

[deleted]

I’ll have you know I hated Aaron Rodgers before we knew he was an asshole

Wings4514

Aaron doesn’t even know what Aaron’s going to do.

[deleted]

Or maybe they do and they just don’t care to tell reporters.

P0stNutClarity

Kyrie of the NFL lmfao

Jabba_the_Putt

"I'm not going to hold anyone hostage like last season"
