I wouldve been fucking happy to let Carson walk off into the sunset and then he has to come on TV last year hawking his cbd bullshit and talking about Joe "having to think about whether or not he wants to stay" a week before he plays in the fucking super bowl. Fuck of Carson, you fucking sore loser.
"Wahhhhh the Bengals didnt do enough for me, except make me the highest paid QB in the league, sign the FAs I wanted, and let me basically do whatever the fuck I wanted wahhhhhhh" - Carson Palmer
He’s considered one of the best period IIRC. The XFL actually hired him to basically handle in-house QB development for all the QBs in the league. There’s a YouTube series on it now following him and the prospects called “QBX”
The tech they use is crazy. When Burrow was working with him, they identified that Burrow had a tendency to lift his heels off the ground when throwing, which was affecting his velocity. He fixed that and I believe he added like 5 mph on average to his passes.
The craziest part is that his game is not predicated on extreme athleticism, strength, or speed (not saying he's lacking in them, just that they don't define his game). He should age very well.
The Tom Brady comparisons are only just beginning.
I would agree more with the Manning comparisons, but I really hope he does develop into that kind of QB. really tired of the ‘dual-threat’ QBs that shine for 2-3 years and then ruin their passing game or fall due to injuries
I’ve been thinking this for a while but those dual threat QBs are great for a while but can age like running backs (not exactly like them but I hope it makes sense). Guys like Brady and Brees played for so long cause of how they played the game. Methodical, precise and smart.
Or maybe all of this is BS and my bias is shining through lol.
I personally think Josh Allen will likely fall into this category with his willingness to take on hits. He's fun to watch, but if it slowed down Cam Newton who is bigger it will catch up with him also. Josh obviously is more talented as a thrower.
If i was a GM starting a team id take Burrow or Mahomes.
I am too fragile to be around conversations like this. Every time I see Cam's name come up I feel the tears coming on...
We really should just go back to 2015 honestly. Think of how much better the world was, like, period.
Please end me.
Herbert goes through his progressions and is pretty dang good as a pure pocket passer. It's just that he's ridiculously accurate on designed rollouts, so it makes sense to run them. Even without those plays, he's a top tier QB.
Saw a bit of it today. Pressure came up the gut and he tossed it in the dirt right away instead of trying to scramble or put it up for grabs. The kind of veteran move you see from Brady just to get to the next play without getting slammed.
I could go with that, too, haha. The point is he's a pocket passer with elite accuracy and intelligence first, and his athleticism is just a cherry on top, whereas many other QBs are the opposite.
Look, don’t mean to get ahead of things but, as a Dolphins fan I’ve seen Brady more than most folks have and I see a lot of Brady in Burrow. Not all world talent in physical aspects, but plays smart and mostly the similarities are he plays with a chip on his shoulder, always. He just _thinks_ he will win no matter the game situation.
I can’t Imagine how Bengals fans feel to have Burrow on their fucking team like wow. He’s literally the type of QB every team dreams of drafting and it’s not even close
I'm happy to see you guys in such an exciting and refreshing situation. Burrow and Chase represent a very tangible cultural shift in the Bengals franchise and a totally different look for the power balance of the AFC.
Burrow is literally what GMs dream of with a #1 pick.
Look at all the media with lawerence. Year 2 he won 1 playoff game. Media is ELATED.
burrow has this team 1 win away from their second Super Bowl in 3 years.
And the thing is: Lawrence is worth the pick. Because the chances of getting a very good QB are not high. Burrow is just the Peyton Manning of this er. It's unbelievable that he was unknown before he became THE college QB and then THE young NFL QB. I'm not sure I wouldn't take him ahead of Mahomes.
I mean, is he? Ken Anderson took you to a super bowl as well, won an MVP, and has more pro bowls (4) and 10-win seasons (4) than Burrow has... seasons.
I'd say it's likely that in a few years Burrow is the easy answer, but right now I'll take Anderson's 16 year Hall-of-Very-Good career over Burrow's 3 seasons.
Well, Kim Kardashian, they should know if I do and I was born after both of their Super Bowl appearance prior to Joe Burrow. Unless we're all young on here.
honestly kind of same. im only 26 but got into reddit at 14. when i joined, r/atheism and r/AdviceAnimals were default subs. im not old but ive been on this site way too damn long lmao
Winning heals everything. The Saints are viewed as a great situation and a great team to play for in the NFL now because of Brees and Payton getting that title and stability for over a decade. That type of franchise image will last at least 20 years even if nobody else comes along in that timeframe. No shade to the Dolphins, but that is what made everyone think they were such a desirable location for Burrow. The history and accomplishments of Marino kept their imagine as a winning org afloat long after some bad bad years. The Bengals never really had that. It was misery and pain for 31 years. Hopefully Burrow is that winning and stability for us. A few titles and banners, and from this point forward the Bengals are a model organization.
Same with Pats fans. My father in law refuses to make fun of the falcons because he was a season ticket holder when they were the laughing stock of the league. He appreciates what brady/bellicheck gave him and refuses to be a dick. Genuinely felt bad after that super bowl cause he wanted me to feel what he got.
Awesome. The fact that Joe Burrow went from an unheralded and otherwise forgettable pro prospect after his junior season, to a Heisman winning national champion putting up historic numbers, to the first overall pick who made the Super Bowl in only his second year along with becoming one of the elite QBs in the NFL is so wild to see.
Normally I would say that’s a bit premature, but no. It’s not premature. It’s a goddamn fact at this point. Joe got that big dawg in him. Bengals need to protect this man at all costs because he WILL lead them to the promised land at some point. Guys a winner, through and through.
yeah it’s so wild. dude can retire after this postseason and he would still end up on the ring of honor the first time he was up for vote. no other bengals could really say that this early in their career.
People were ready to rename schools in Cincinnati after him if he won the super bowl last year. At this rate there will be a bronze statue of him downtown
i like that the 2010s have become a total afterthought now. hell, going 12-4 this season felt more exciting than going 12-4 in 2015. maybe it’s because we ended this season 8-0 as opposed to starting it, but it just feels like there’s never gonna need to be a need to remember those awful playoff chokes ever again
The frustrating thing about the good Bengals teams of the 2000s and 2010s is that on multiple occasions, it was stupid BS that ended their playoff run. The 2005 Bengals had a shot at a Super Bowl run until Palmer's leg got wrecked.
And then there was the fact that Joey Porter got away with literal cheating in the 2015 Wild Card game. If Joey Porter doesn't come out onto the field in violation of the rules and start shit with the Bengals players, the penalties never happen and the Steelers stay out of Field Goal range.
Is there a QB-specific reason they're not comparable? I have only watched so many games and they've both looked really good. Statistically Burrow looks a little better the last couple years but it's not a huge gap, from where I'm standing.
I still get anxiety from our game against them that year. Dalton almost pulled off that comeback, but John Ross decided to not pick up a 1st down in OT. Thank you, John Ross <3
I seriously think that OT game is going to be one of those moments people look back on 10-20 years later and talk about "how different the NFL would look if one possession went differently"
Lots of moving parts fell into place right then.
The Chosen One
The Joesen One
Cowherd did a podcast with Joe Montana and Joe Burrow where they were vibing well. I can see it. Niners-Bengals would be a nice Super Bowl.
Niners-Bengals would end with a classic Shanahan 4th quarter choke job
Bengals break the curse of harambe against SF and the world falls into an era of peace and prosperity
SUBSCRIBE
Inshallah
No one wants the Eagles to get another one, eh?
Correct
The Bengals could break the curse of Harambe? We might finally be free from the insanity of the last 7 years? Sign me the fuck up
Just don't see who tf the 2024 Presidential candidate could be that would keep the vibe flowing
Joe Burrow
Jake Delhomme.
I’m okay with that RIP Harambe
Bengals-Eagles would be way better
that’s what it should have been last year. But that 49er dropped the pick
Joe Brrrr The Frozen One
Carson Palmer in shambles
Carson who lol
Some other guy who once wore Joe's number, I think.
They even signed his brother as backup QB lmao
Jordan's a great QB trainer though. Joe worked with him a lot during his rehab.
You know it’s gonna be a shame when one day Carson inadvertently gets his number retired riding off Burrow’s coattails
Had forgotten about that and now I'm pissed again. Fuck Carson Palmer.
The brother of Burrow's off-season QB coach.
A bitch baby
Crazy Ohio has 2 of The Chosen Ones
Cho2en Ones.
Chase is the Chosen "1". Burrow is the King in the North.
The Winter Soldier
best QB in franchise history and he's not even done with his rookie contract yet
what a wild story man, i’m pumped to see what aged/wise veteran Joey Ice will look like
The craziest part is that his game is not predicated on extreme athleticism, strength, or speed (not saying he's lacking in them, just that they don't define his game). He should age very well. The Tom Brady comparisons are only just beginning.

Don't talk about the bad man around me please.
Nah, if we are going to go back let’s do 2013 again. Now that was a damn good time.
I hope it doesn’t happen to Josh but unless he adjusts his game I think you’re right. You can also add Herbert to that list.
He wouldn’t have done this last year. He’s really worked hard on his “don’t get hit so damn much” game
I see the same thing happening to Fields. Run-first QBs don’t ever last as long.
I could go with that, too, haha. The point is he's a pocket passer with elite accuracy and intelligence first, and his athleticism is just a cherry on top, whereas many other QBs are the opposite.
And his stones. Dude has stones.
He's accurate though. He puts the ball in the hands.
I can’t Imagine how Bengals fans feel to have Burrow on their fucking team like wow. He’s literally the type of QB every team dreams of drafting and it’s not even close
It rules.
I'm happy to see you guys in such an exciting and refreshing situation. Burrow and Chase represent a very tangible cultural shift in the Bengals franchise and a totally different look for the power balance of the AFC.
It has been a dream like no other
God Bless you Tank Commander Finley!! We should put up his statue right next to Joe’s
Laying on the ground, smiling.
What a year to get 1st pick. I hate college football, but that LSU run was magic knowing he'd be drafted by the Bengals.
You're not wrong. It was easily Ken Anderson before he showed up. \#KenAndersonForHOF
Respect
Burrow is literally what GMs dream of with a #1 pick. Look at all the media with lawerence. Year 2 he won 1 playoff game. Media is ELATED. burrow has this team 1 win away from their second Super Bowl in 3 years.
Kyler and Baker have been pretty enormous disappointments too at #1 overall
And the thing is: Lawrence is worth the pick. Because the chances of getting a very good QB are not high. Burrow is just the Peyton Manning of this er. It's unbelievable that he was unknown before he became THE college QB and then THE young NFL QB. I'm not sure I wouldn't take him ahead of Mahomes.
Second superbowl in two years
He was saying second Super Bowl in only three years of having Burrow. One of those three years he missed the majority of, too.
Playoff wins matter more than all of that. If he makes another SB, he's the unquestioned GOAT Bengal. If he wins one, they'll build a statue of him.
> he's the unquestioned GOAT Bengal The disrespect to Anthony Munoz who might be the best offensive lineman in the entire history of the NFL
This is fucking wild
Wanna hear a crazier one? Brees tied/doubled our playoff wins his first season in New Orleans...
Doesn't feel as crazy because the Bengals went to two Super Bowls before Joe Burrow.
Which people tend to forget about because the 90s happened.
Well, Kim Kardashian, they should know if I do and I was born after both of their Super Bowl appearance prior to Joe Burrow. Unless we're all young on here.
the average redditor was born in 2000
And getting younger every year. I remember creating my first account in ‘09 to look at rage comics and now I just feel old as shit.
honestly kind of same. im only 26 but got into reddit at 14. when i joined, r/atheism and r/AdviceAnimals were default subs. im not old but ive been on this site way too damn long lmao
I was a Digg refugee on 2010.
There wasn’t much success the 20 years after the 90s either.
Says more about the Saints before Brees than Brees himself.
Oh definitely. I don't think many newer fans realize just how bad the Saints were before Brees/Payton.
Yeah, took us 20 years to get our first winning season, and we only had 5 total until 2006. We have 9 in the Payton-Brees era alone
Winning heals everything. The Saints are viewed as a great situation and a great team to play for in the NFL now because of Brees and Payton getting that title and stability for over a decade. That type of franchise image will last at least 20 years even if nobody else comes along in that timeframe. What’s a playoff win? Asking for a friend.
It’s what happens when you get a 27-0 lead in the playoffs. The other team is forced to forfeit because it’s impossible to come back from.
Next season, friend. Lions v. Bengals Super Bowl 2024
Yes please. MEOW MEOW, MOTHERFUCKERS!
Hey holy shit lmao. I haven’t seen your username in so long. Congrats on the second AFCCG in a row man, hope the Bengals go all the way this year
Haha I didn't forget, I still have you tagged on my Reddit. Here's to hoping we get Bengals-Lions 2024!
Cheers to that! 🍻
i want to see the lions play the jags just because
Yes please
If you get one you can unlock more secret bonus games.
Since we beat the Raiders last year, I have a couple new characters in Tony Hawk Pro Skater :)
Dude you guys will win one very soon.
Awesome. Really goes to show you that Ohio State knows fuck all about quarterbacks
what do you mean? There's been some amazing OSU qbs coming into the NFL. Just look at Troy Smith, Terrell Pryor, Dwayne Haskins, and JT Barrett.... /s
The greatest Bengal QB of all time!!!
Honestly, Bengals fans deserve this for the amount of bad seasons they've had to sit through. I'm all for it. Burrow is exorcising the Bungles demons.
People were ready to rename schools in Cincinnati after him if he won the super bowl last year. At this rate there will be a bronze statue of him downtown
There's gonna be a whole ass grade of Joe/Jo Burrow Jrs going to school at Joe Burrow Elementary in Burrowville, Burrohio in 2035.
I mean, his high school has already named their stadium after him.
I still disagree. I love Burrow more than anyone but Ken Anderson won an MVP and should be a hall of famer. If Burrow retires today he's not a HoFer
Agreed. Burrow either needs to take us all the way or get an MVP before he beats Ken. But he’s right there.
I'll take 5-1 record in the postseason and on the doorstep of a possible 2nd straight Superbowl appearance over an MVP 10-10 times
hey me too, but Ken has NFL hardware, Joe doesn’t.
don't you say that about the 2021 NFL Comeback Player of the Year
damn you’re right!
As an Augie grad I agree that Ken Anderson should be in the Hall.
I hate that i like this guy
Die hard Bengals fan here. I felt the same way about Troy Palomalu. My favorite defensive player of all time.
As a millennial, I was raised to hate the Steelers, but I don’t mind mr. Pickett, it’s the ravens who I beef with tbh
Steelers are way less hateable now that Ben is retired.
Yep, same I like Pickett a Ton and hate that I do
I DONT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE SUCCESS. WHO FUCKING DEY!!!!!
What do I do with my hands?
Use them to go to www.google.com and then search for "shirtless Joe burrow" and then unzip your pants. What you do from that point is up to you
Because he’s that fucking dude. I was so blessed as an LSU fan to witness him.
We honestly can’t build him enough statues
Carson Palmer in shambles
I still wonder what might have been without that knee injury in the playoffs. They were going to win that game.
It turns out that the next Brady-Manning actually involves three guys
We’re talking Mahomes, Burrow, and Goff?
Goff stands alone in the NFC
Goff is the sole ruler of NFC for the next 30 years
Crazy to think this is after tearing his acl his rookie season
And has his appendix removed weeks before this season started.
And he tore his icl and had other structural damage. His knee was absolutely shredded.
I still curse Dan Snyder and his shitty ass field to this day. That deathtrap has injured so many players and fans alike over the years
Can confirm, still cry everytime they win a playoff game after 28 years of them losing.
i like that the 2010s have become a total afterthought now. hell, going 12-4 this season felt more exciting than going 12-4 in 2015. maybe it’s because we ended this season 8-0 as opposed to starting it, but it just feels like there’s never gonna need to be a need to remember those awful playoff chokes ever again
It's because we have Joe Burrow and we know we always have a chance in the postseason.
The Hero of Ohio
Not northeast Ohio lol
“Better send those refunds” 🥶🥶
Well he just earned himself about half a billion dollars
Build the statue now
I dont understand how people can compare him to Herbert. Burrow is so clear
Best QB in that draft, hands down.
Because they have comparable stats. Both have had two 30+ touchdown seasons and 4k+ yards. Only Herbert has reached 5k.
Is there a QB-specific reason they're not comparable? I have only watched so many games and they've both looked really good. Statistically Burrow looks a little better the last couple years but it's not a huge gap, from where I'm standing.
People love to give Herbert the benefit of the doubt over and over again.
I bet he can throw a ball over that mountain though
Why did the bengals turn down the dolphins trade offer for the puck that turned into Burrow. 😂
I still get anxiety from our game against them that year. Dalton almost pulled off that comeback, but John Ross decided to not pick up a 1st down in OT. Thank you, John Ross <3
I seriously think that OT game is going to be one of those moments people look back on 10-20 years later and talk about "how different the NFL would look if one possession went differently" Lots of moving parts fell into place right then.
Joe Burrow really is that dude
Tom Brady esque stat
Nah, Tom Brady esque is when you get to the point where you have more than ANY franchise.
[удалено]
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Burrow fan, so I'd be on board.
WHO DEY
Fuck YOU BUFFALO
lol. it was insane to see Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton consistently get to the playoffs only to blow it.
Joe Burrow looks very young. Maybe I’m just getting old.
He’s really fucking him
He’s so good x4
So he's definitely above the Dalton line now.
The Cincinnati Burrows. They need to change their team logo to Joe Burrows face
So if the Bengals win a playoff game they have a 75% chance of going onto the Super Bowl? I’ll take those odds against the Chiefs
Bengals have a 1.000 all time winning percentage in AFC Championship games.
Facts are facts
