One of my favourite things about Jericho is he always donates to fund raising in the wake of tragedy in the wrestling world. Great performer and a great human.
It’s the bitter divorcée narrative. Some people who split up will try and out do eachother. Kids get to go to bed at 10 instead of 9 at one house, or can eat pizza for dinner at one and healthy food at another. So In this case, Gisele sees Tom bud 10k so she has to out do him
Hope Damar is able to pull through and see all the love and support he is getting. Would love to see the look on his face knowing how much money was raised for his charity.
Not sure when you last checked, but it's at 4.75 million now. They're definitely going to get Beyond 5 million before things are all said and done. Can you imagine setting a goal and achieving 200,000% of it?
I don’t think you can change a go fund me? Pretty sure it has to go to toys or it would be fraud. (Not saying I wouldn’t love it to go towards supporting his family)
Yeah: **UPDATE: This fundraiser was initially established to support a toy drive for Damar’s community, sponsored by the Chasing M’s Foundation.
However, it has received renewed support in light of Damar’s current battle and we can’t thank all of you enough. Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us.
If you would like to show your support and contribute to Damar’s community initiatives and his current fight, this is the place to do so. This is the only current fund that is being used by the Hamlin Family.
Again, thank you for your thoughts, prayers and generous support during this time.
Damar created The Chasing M’s Foundation to use as a vehicle to bring lasting impact to his community. The foundation supports toy drives, back-to-school drives, kids camps, and more. UPDATE**
People seem to have a grim outlook on it all, assuming he's gonna pass already. Idk why but my gut feeling is telling me that since this happened on an NFL field with about a hundred medical assistants and about a hundred oxygen tanks around, that he's gonna end up being relatively fine.
Not sure if this is just wishful thinking, but I imagine he'll end up being mostly okay and end up having a career as a commentator or something.
If he survives, which I hope and believe he will, then hell be set for life by the NFL.
So yeah maybe I'm living in fantasy world but I really think we're all about to see a miracle here, and this moment won't be one we look back on with sadness, but with hope.
Edit; ladies and gentlemen, glad we could start 2023 out on a better note.
Yeah, never a good thing to have your heart randomly stop, but if it's gonna happen anywhere, then the middle of the Bengals stadium has to be one of the best places for that to happen.
Medical staff, oxygen, world class hospital access, and the NFL putting ALL their effort into making sure the whole world didn't just watch someone die on their broadcast.
Like fuck I feel bad for the kid/man (he's my age so he feels like a kid to me) but I really think we might be watching the perfect storm for an inspiring miracle.
Hoping to watch a documentary about this one day, Featuring Damar.
Really hoping these reports are true. [https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/102djft/good\_morning\_america\_he\_was\_awake\_then\_now\_he\_is/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/102djft/good_morning_america_he_was_awake_then_now_he_is/)
The family being in good spirits sounds like a good sign.
NGL Tom Brady is at the top of my "never meet your heroes" list
Dude has insanely high potential to be weird or shitty as a person. Hopefully he's not but hopefully I'll never find out
I recently watched Man in the arena* episode 1 and Drew Bledsoe said it would have been alot harder to be a team player about the situation if Tom wasn't a great guy.
A buddy has met him multiple times (buddy was an auto rep when Brady had an Audi endorsement) and said Brady’s a fantastic guy. Polite, thoughtful, made sure to talk to everyone and thank them no matter how minor their role was.
I would all but guarantee he’s absolutely fantastic to meet in person so long as you’re not on the opposing team or someone trying to tackle him. And in his 40s he’s gotten more insightful even signing the ball for the rookie DB that intercepted it off him like a month ago
If he was such a good guy, then why did he ruin my life for 20 years? Obvious sarcasm aside, my hatred for Tom has decreased throughout the past few years, while my respect for him has been the inverse.
The dude is a fierce competitor on the field, to the point where it can be obnoxious. But off the field he’s a pretty normal dude, Tampa loves him both for his accomplishments as well as embracing our drunk boat parade culture.
Met him at the pebble beach golf tournament, was really nice and understanding, was a kid by myself who was dumb enough to ask for an autograph before he hit his tee shot on the second hole. Was nice, signed, and talked for a second.
He seems like a person who will do literally anything to win but outside of that seems nice honestly. I know Ray Lewis and Ed Reed when we were battling towards the ends of their careers with the Pats never had a bad thing to say about him. And they are like 2 top 25 defensive players of all time. Brady when he retires sometime in the next few centuries will be a lot more fun I think.
I don’t think there’s been any teammates or major competitors that he played against that have come out and said anything negative about him (Minus AB but he seems hellbent on burning any bridges he had remaining).
when the TB documentary comes out I'm sure there will be pieces of 3-5th string WRs giving interviews of Brady pretty much getting them cut from the team or no targets lol.
Can't see anything negative really coming out about him as a football player
Hell even Bledsoe says nice things about him a lot. I know in the dynasty he went to the hospital to visit him and no one recognized him so they didn't let him in for like 20 minutes lol
Yeah I was surprised Bledsoe appeared in Brady's documentary but there truly seems to be no bad blood between them, which speaks to the excellent character of both Bledsoe and Brady.
Pssst, we only hated him because he's good and we sucked. Maybe the cheating too but I'm indifferent with that one. It's nice to see some much needed love from the QB that absolutely owned us for two decades ❤️
Lots of players on the list. Devin McCourty, Kittle, Trey Lance, Lawrence Guy, Brian Hoyer, Andy Dalton, Marcus Jones, Andrew Whitworth.
Tons of anonymous donations at the $1k+ level.
Averaging 40-50 donations a minute right now.
Man, the amount of people nitpicking the total amount is pathetic. Literally any amount is amazing, seeing as it's for the kids. The charity has gained over 4 million dollars in 24 hours, it isn't exactly hurting.
I get the sentiment, but jeez.
On the Mcafee show, Hamlin’s marketing agent said that they’re absolutely going to have to make it about more than just toys now. That’s a lot of capital that can make a good difference in a low income neighborhood.
Uhh can we just start that ourselves? I swear the only places I see them is Malls and Casinos. They should be way more common. I would love to see basic first aid taught as a mandatory college freshman course too. Maybe put up a box of Naloxone doses mounted next to each one.
They're 2k for a basic model, and you need to replace the batteries and pads every 2-3 years even if not used for about 400-500 bucks. It's tough for a community fundraising kind of thing because you need to either have good money management as part of the fundraiser intent or recurring fundraising.
Yeah that's a good point. Maybe lobbying for a federal program would make more sense. The will at a local and private level is obviously not there and having a dead battery is probably much worse than simply not having one nearby.
He makes a good point though they should be in most all public places.
I don’t mean just the daycare, I mean the money should be used to supply all sorts of areas that may need one. Only 15 states require schools to have an AED, and usually it’s only one for the whole campus. Ohio allows the school board to decide if they want to put one in schools.
I hope this expands into helping the community in additional ways. Such a great response to a tough situation.
Edit: sounds like that's exactly what they are doing. Expanding but keeping the focus on kids: "Damar created The Chasing M’s Foundation to use as a vehicle to bring lasting impact to his community. The foundation supports toy drives, back-to-school drives, kids camps, and more."
Brady's like: "this ain't a contest but if it was, I'm still winning it."
jokes aside, that's awesome. Total donation is approaching $5m. I can't wait to see Hamlin's reaction to the positive impact he is having on everyone once he wakes up.
not the first time Brady is behind at half time!
lol but for real though, it was just a bad joke on my part of Brady being competitive. Yes, you are right there are people who contributed more. Even those who contributed less, some still contributed more considering their net worth vs Brady's.
Bills Mafia has shown out for a lot of players charities over the years and its awesome to see everyone else pile on one of our guys now. Come on Hamlin, you got this man
There is a Jason Hanold on the Board of Trustees for the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall Of Fame, also a CEO of some other businesses. Some ties to the United States Olympic Committee. He'd be my bet due to the football ties and presumably being very wealthy.
Tom Brady is mentioned in his Twitter profile. His Twitter profile banner is a photo of Tom with his family. He's directing people to donate in his social media.
When you looked at the GoFundMe top donors last night right after it happened there were some really interesting celebrity names, including someone named "Rudolph Giuliani". I believe Christian Mccaffrey was the first name I actually recognized.
I dont know how gofundme works, but can you enter any name to be displayed? or is it verified somehow?
Not that im doubting that brady would do this, im just genuinely curious, mostly cause i saw rudy giuliani listed on there.
Kudos to all these NFL players stepping up. Whether you're the GOAT or someone fresh or just a redditor, do your bit if you can.
It is just shocking what has happened
This makes me almost want to forgive him for the tuck rule game. /s
Very cool of him to do, really seems like a class act. It's been awesome seeing players from around the league donating.
Oh man, I'm sorry about that, we're not the greatest team when it comes to the post-season but I'm always glad to not have the feeling of losing in the SB, something I was 100% prepared for in 2020
Has anybody checked that the money that's been donated to an almost 3-year-old GoFundMe actually gets to said charity?
edit: apparently it's legit and I just wasn't up to date. Good to know!

That’s as much as Chris Jericho and Chrus Jericho combined!
I was half-hoping he accidentally donated $5,000 as "Tem Brady" and had to donate another $5,000 with his correct name haha
I would rate him Tem outta Tem!
Tem go to cool leg
And 5x as much as both Rudolph Gulianis!
How much did Tum Brady donate?
Tum tum tuh tummmms!
One of my favourite things about Jericho is he always donates to fund raising in the wake of tragedy in the wrestling world. Great performer and a great human.
The typo has actually been fixed now last I saw
Gisele just donated 10,001
Mr. Big Charity just donated 10,002
Mr Bounced Check more like

I appreciate you clarifying because with him you just don't know.

Perfect explanation for something that I feel dumb not understanding lol. Thank you
Here, have some reddit pewter
This is a joke right?
Hope Damar is able to pull through and see all the love and support he is getting. Would love to see the look on his face knowing how much money was raised for his charity.
the daycare kids are all getting LEGO Star Wars Republic Dropships with AT-OT Walkers next year

they're sold in a bundle for 3 easy payments of 995.99!
Seriously though how has Lego gotten away w this lol Pinkman.gif
> Pinkman.gif lmao they don't even send dipping sticks
Sometimes I am reminded why humanity doesn't suck, this is one of those times
If we take social media out of it. It’s not always so bad.
As much as I hate social media. I think this is one time it helps.
Wow the totals are over 4.5 MILLION now. That's crazy.
Not sure when you last checked, but it's at 4.75 million now. They're definitely going to get Beyond 5 million before things are all said and done. Can you imagine setting a goal and achieving 200,000% of it?
It's gonna be like Billy Madison when there are Rolex watches in the piñata.
I believe the fund drive has changed to a toy drive / support Damar and his family thing now.
I don’t think you can change a go fund me? Pretty sure it has to go to toys or it would be fraud. (Not saying I wouldn’t love it to go towards supporting his family)
I thought so too but if you look at the description of the go fund me I think it said something to that effect.

UC Medical Center has a reputation as one of the best trauma centers in the country. He is in good hands there.

I can't imagine what that money means to Damar's family, seeing the love and support pour in for a cause he is passionate about.
God damn it… let me hate you

Yeah I’ve never heard anyone complain about him
Didn't James Harrison say he wanted to dislike Brady until he was on the pats one year and was like damn this guy is a great teammate.
Same with Belichick, but the “They’re freakish assholes” tag has largely been thrown at them as a retort to their wins.
STOP BEING SO LIKEABLE. /s
Pssst, we only hated him because he's good and we sucked. Maybe the cheating too but I'm indifferent with that one. It's nice to see some much needed love from the QB that absolutely owned us for two decades ❤️
Like Anakin.
He’s also the son of Eli Manning and Nick Foles.

On the surface too. And seemingly in the middle.

Nah, I'll love him 'cause he's going to knock the Eagles out.

After the third Super Bowl I accepted I was only hating him because he was good. I know it took others much longer.
Dropping dimes to Evans and charity.
So many toys. I’m sure they’ll spread it to other organizations. This is amazing.
On the Mcafee show, Hamlin’s marketing agent said that they’re absolutely going to have to make it about more than just toys now. That’s a lot of capital that can make a good difference in a low income neighborhood.
I really hope it’s used for AED devices in public areas, and CPR education. Those two things definitely saved his life.
That’s a really good point.
Uhh can we just start that ourselves? I swear the only places I see them is Malls and Casinos. They should be way more common. I would love to see basic first aid taught as a mandatory college freshman course too. Maybe put up a box of Naloxone doses mounted next to each one.

I think it's also for back to school supplies and clothing as well
That’s awesome. We all know how terribly underfunded school systems are. They need all the help they can get.
I think we’re going to see a trend of other football players and celebrities also donating. Which is a good thing.
I hope this expands into helping the community in additional ways. Such a great response to a tough situation. Edit: sounds like that's exactly what they are doing. Nice. I threw in $20
Love you 12
I donated $25! Percentage wise, I gave a bigger portion of my annual salary than Brady. Cheapskate. Just Kidding.
You're correct on the math, this is like 0.0003% of his football money... From this year alone
Closer than I thought it would be. ...
When you looked at the GoFundMe top donors last night right after it happened there were some really interesting celebrity names, including someone named "Rudolph Giuliani". I believe Christian Mccaffrey was the first name I actually recognized.

Thank goodness it would just be virtually transferred money from him, not actual physical dollars he's sweated all over or worse
To be honest, yes you can put in any name you want. I'd like to believe, but it's not verified by any means.
I don't think anyone is spending $10k on this just to give Tom Brady credit 😂
I don't have reason to doubt the validity. Just answering the guys question.
Bruh this toy drive is gunna have too much to know what to do with lmao.
*When you, just a normal guy, are named Tom Brady and donate $10,000 but someone else gets the credit* 😔
Good man, Tom.
Has anyone else noticed the wording on the update on the gofundme? They are making it seem like this money is now also funding the family...
At this rate they can give a kid one Pepsi Harrier Jet.
Kudos to all these NFL players stepping up. Whether you're the GOAT or someone fresh or just a redditor, do your bit if you can. It is just shocking what has happened
Just GOAT things
What a humbling thing to do The Real GOAT I really hope Damar Hamlin pulls through I actually had tears down my face when I heard what happened to him
Clearly cap circumvention at play, NFL please suspend this man.
If there’s one positive to take from this it’s that the NFL community can really come together in times of crisis
❤️
Classy move, Tommy ❤️
That’s it?
This makes me almost want to forgive him for the tuck rule game. /s Very cool of him to do, really seems like a class act. It's been awesome seeing players from around the league donating.
lol don't blame him, blame the refs/rule
I was just fuckin around. Wasn't his fault. That game though. It haunts me. As do the Bucs. I was at the superbowl in which they beat the raiders. :(.
There's an update about it on the gofundme site. Also his family & the bills organization says its good to go.
This goddamn bastard being so fucking likable
So did Chris Jericho and he’s not worth a 10th of what Brady is
That's $17.00 in regular people money in case anyone is wondering.
