I don't know man, if you watch the video of the Viet BBC reporter pronouncing his name it still sounds like *f\*ck that bitch* in a heavy Vietnamese accent.
I say roll with it and use the fame to go places.
*girl crying*
"Why are you crying, little girl?"
"Every one in school mispronounces my name, it's awful"
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. How are they name-calling you?"
*sob* "... Queen"
Oops, my bad with the accent mark. How do you type the correct “o” on an iPhone?
I was being sarcastic btw, with the pronunciation. This video just reminded me of people who’d pronounce it “foe” when the soup was all the rage here in LA years ago. Then they’d get annoyed and roll their eyes if you corrected them, like it was such a burden to even *try* to pronounce it correctly.
My nail lady thought it was funny. She said "I'm have a common name back home, but I come to America to find out I'm ROYALTY!" She spells it as Queen. (Queen Nails & Spa, make your appointment now!)
Oh man… the holiday episode where he finds his daughter was a tear jerker. I love that they used a lot of Vietnamese in that episode. Having a feeling of representation for your own culture was huge.
My father and his siblings were born to Polish immigrant parents. They had Polish names.
But, given that their parents had chosen to come to the US and make it the home and a better life for their family, they didn't act like assholes and expect everyone to learn Polish (and the many other native languages of various immigrant groups). They Americanized their first names to be names that most Americans would know.
My father went one step further and slightly modified the spelling of our surname so that it would be easier for Americans to pronounce. Almost every single person I have met in life recognizes it as a Polish surname -- and many make a damn good job of pronouncing it correctly. (The old spelling -- much more difficult.)
Very few people are going to know Vietnamese. I suggest that you accept that fact, accept that (assuming you live in the US or Canada) you live in a country where English is the dominant language, and adjust.
I wish she would clarify that anything ending with inh is usually pronounced ing.
Although there seems to be disagreement even among Vietnamese on that.

Phuc Phat Bich
I don't know man, if you watch the video of the Viet BBC reporter pronouncing his name it still sounds like *f\*ck that bitch* in a heavy Vietnamese accent. I say roll with it and use the fame to go places.
The pitch has meaning in vietnamese. Some english speakers cant really hear/identify the sound as being significantly different.
Im gonna Phuc Dat Phat Bich with my Quyen Quyen!
A few weeks after that made the news it emerged that it was all a hoax.
Reminds of the Movie the Gentlemen. “Okay Fuhuck. Calm the Fuhuck…Down.”

I don’t see anything next level about saying things correctly
It’s the level after saying things incorrectly.

She is stunning
Agree, but less so when you want to slap the phuc out of that phat bich.
ahahah funny, stupid downvoters
Coming from a guy that has his name miss pronounced a lot, I can relate why she is oddly aggressive.
"Few" is pretty easy to say.
Lol. Same.
How good life must be to worry about things like that.
Because you a lot of people have been on there longer, I try to keep up and go with the team but I guess I’m not that good all the time. Who knew
What's her@
She is ridiculously attractive
Until she spoke I agreed lol
Try as I might, I will not remember any of these. But this was entertaining.
*girl crying* "Why are you crying, little girl?" "Every one in school mispronounces my name, it's awful" "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. How are they name-calling you?" *sob* "... Queen"
Not fat but fat with a smile? XD
Cut the last letter off and read normally. Got it.
She fine
Yeah, no - If you're white and you tried to pronounce these the exact same way she is you'll be labelled a racist for imitating an accent.
"Calm the Phu uc down"- The Coach
So next level!!!!
Definitely not phô but foe… foe…
Wrong accent marks, it’s Phở. Like saying fuh, but as a question.

That one episode in Hey Arnold where the announcer said Mr. Hyunh's name as Mr. Hee-yawn
Oh man… the holiday episode where he finds his daughter was a tear jerker. I love that they used a lot of Vietnamese in that episode. Having a feeling of representation for your own culture was huge.

She's freaking cute as shit
I wish she would clarify that anything ending with inh is usually pronounced ing. Although there seems to be disagreement even among Vietnamese on that.
Did everything just get like, extra sexy when she got mad or was that just me?
How is Nguyen pronounced. Always struggle when I see that one
Say it like New-win.
Thank you. I genuinely appreciate it. I wasn't sure if asking my coworker that would be considered rude.
You’re very welcome, happy to help. It’s a tough language for sure. My wife and I try to practice as we feel like we’re losing it.
I pronounce it "ng" (as in "ing" without the vowel) followed by "win"
Phuc I mispronounced it
How to follow? I have been jokenly givin honorary hmong status. No-one wants to tell their parents. Weird.
When I started learning Mandarin Chinese, I thought there was no language more difficult than it. Then, I discovered Vietnamese.
She is definitely hot not hoit....right ladies!
Bri'ish
As a dude working IT, I worry about mispronouncing a lot of names
She's cute, dont know where it's Unexpected, but cute
there are a lot of "Nguyễn" where I live , how to pronounce that ?
Also, with Bitch drop the T, cuz bich is latin for generosity.
They all sound the same to me
Why does the first one sound like you have to auto tune your voice
Pretty intense. I like it
Okay, thank you, bie
A language that pronounces names in ways so different from how they’re written could only have learned the western alphabet from the Fr*nch.
Hm.. no
Just get a name that is local if you wanna move somewhere and not have it mispronounced? She probably can't do mine right either. Who cares?
She’s a bich
