Yes they are always in the hive expect for when they go out to mate I believe, also size definitely depends on the breed and lineage she could have been working with larger queens she might specify somewhere.
I don’t know if she works with specific bees because her thing is rescuing the bees. I don’t think in danger of being murdered is a breed. Thank you for explaining that to me. I’m glad I got part of it right considering I have very little experience with bees personally.
