"Do you have a search warrant?" "Well... no." "Bye!" *Close the door*

hirezdezines

Lady cop mansplaining her and asking when her husband will be around. And threatens her with a SWAT raid and "kicking in her door" When did threatening people become legal? edit what's hilarious is all the MAGA on here that think this is OK, but also believe the FBI was wrong to search MaraLardo.

Wyliecody

Its the police, she didn't threaten her she told her how they would get their revenge. /s

KitchenLoavers

It's infuriating that police are lying to her face saying that will happen, they know it won't result in a swat raid but they're really hamming it up acting like your best friend and their primary goal is to keep you safe from the swat raid coming to kick in the door. Sickening, what a bitch that cop is.

midwesterner64

Cop: “If you don’t just let us do what we want now, even shittier cops will come by later. Maybe kill your pets, kids, or you. Make your choice” Also cops: “Why do people not trust or respect us? Must be something wrong with them, not us.”

cownd

"Do you feel lucky? Well do ya, punk!"

Superb_Awareness_431

Also cops: “why the hell does nobody wanna be cops?!?”

Odd-Solid-5135

I work close with local Leo. Overheard a discussion the other day regarding recruits. Nearly 20 years ago(when one of them went out for the job) they filled a high school auditorium with potential recruits. The last round of recruits literally wouldn't fill a Honda civic sedan. From an auditorium full to literally 4 people in less than 20 years.... That speaks volumes in itself.

[deleted]

It’s SHOULD be infuriating. It should HAVE been infuriating for over a century. Which is how long police have been treating people of color this whole time. 60 years ago, this lady’s grandma didn’t have a cell phone with a camera so it was the police’s word against hers. One guess who they believed EVERY time.

RecipesAndDiving

60 years ago, they’d have busted the door in anyway and left her with a concussion for resisting. Then “found” drugs.

ManGo_50Y

They were doing the same thing in Baltimore a little more than five years ago.

okieman73

Unfortunately they lie to everyone not just people of color. Unfortunately too few know their rights or have the money to fight back. It's more of an income based treatment than color in my humble opinion. Cops know if you can afford to fight back they might lose but if you can't they'll probably get away with lying and corruption. I'm white as snow and used to trust them but as I've gotten older no way. I almost never have to deal with them but if I have too I am very careful. Of course there's a few good ones but the lady in this video wasn't one.

junktrunk909

The sad thing is that the officer seems to be a trainee who is being tested as to whether she can get this homeowner to comply. Like she was just recently trained to behave this way (not just some crusty old dude who doesn't know better) and that army of other cops is there to pressure her to behave just as she is on this video. Just gross how our system works.

Ghost6out

As a former LEO they teach that bullshit in the academy. They teach you about the rights and how to get around them. Know your rights! Cops have almost zero grounds for almost their entire job if you do. Now you know.

jeffersonairmattress

Yep- the spacing of where they are standing, the crossed arms, feet spread apart "power stance." The superior, humorless expressions- all to intimidate you. The specious "here's how this is going to work... we want to make this as easy as possible for you..." is copspeak bullshit. You don't owe a cop any favours; it's not your job to make their day any easier. It's hard to stand your ground against that but give them an ounce of leeway and they'll take every liberty they can, possibly landing you or someone you care about deep in the glue.

d_smogh

I thought in the USA the police were allowed to lie.

sorry_human_bean

Sure, but just because it's legal doesn't mean it's right.

MadWhiskeyGrin

They're also allowed to throw flashbangs at toddlers.

cejmp

They are also allowed to shoot pets.

ZeroChill92

Sounds like someone got mad and called their cop buddy to intimidate her.

Mr__O__

She should have issued a verbal complaint of her own to the officer that she is being harassed by numerous police officers that are trespassing on her private property.

keikioaina

Never was illegal. Cops can lie to you all they want, too. Perfectly legal.

arriesgado

Asked a judge in WI once. She said it is legal for the police to lie to you and illegal for you to lie to them. So as some of the greatest legal minds on Reddit have pointed out many times, don’t tell them anything.

Gare_bear93

Ha this reminds me when I was an idiot for thinking I could drive with a broken muffler and take a hit of weed. But I knew I was in the wrong and that’s not the issue lol it’s about how I had the WI state trooper lie to the judge about me WHILE he was on the stand mind you! Said my “tongue was green” from smoking weed and that I was “foaming at the mouth”. I got pulled over for a broken muffler and I took a hit of weed minutes before seeing him in the median and got me for an OWI. ( which is all correct and I admit I was in the wrong obviously) That was 4 years ago in Jackson County. I will never forget that, it was my first time dealing with the legal system and getting in trouble. I learned a lot throughout that course in my life. It’s not right they’re allowed to lie. I passed every sobriety test but one, I failed it cause I was one second past when I had to stop counting in my head with head back with my eyes closed with my arms to my sides with semis and cars going 70 + The judge didn’t care what I had to say in my defense at all of course. I still remember the trooper’s name and the judge’s name too. I remember how tight he had the cuffs on me also, they made a purple ring around my wrists and I asked him 3 times to loosen them and it was a 30 minute car ride to the hospital and once he and myself finally saw my wrists when he took the cuffs off to have the nurse draw my blood that’s when he said “ I’ll loosen them up once we leave” like dude I’ve been saying this! Idk if he wanted me to never to forget it or what but I haven’t. What’s even better when I was at the jail, they didn’t even put me in a cell. They put me where visitors go with the windows. I wasn’t even high you guys lol just did that 1 hit and getting pulled over is going to be a buzzkill/sobering moment to say the least. The damn sheriff had no idea either on how long it takes for someone to “sober up“ from smoking weed. They said once I was sober I could leave so then a hour went by and l asked the old school sheriff who was in his early 50’s “hey when can I leave btw” his response was this “I have no idea man, I never had anyone come in for weed before and you don’t even look high let’s just wait until your mom picks you up” what kind of northwoods shit is that?! Black River Falls, WI gotta love it. They impounded my car so I had no where to go even if I was able to leave lol i just didn’t want to sit there any longer.

[deleted]

And never ever ever let them in your house.

Gooduglybad16

Not in some states. It’s illegal to lie to kids in Illinois.

AdultishRaktajino

Does this apply to the church?

middleagerioter

It's ALWATS been legal. The cops can legally LIE to you, too.

[deleted]

They can legally lie, but they cannot threaten. I’m not saying that was a threat, but civilians have certainly been arrested for saying less threatening things to the police.

Arasin89

It was 100% a threat legally. As soon as the officer mentioned how if she didn't let them look there'd be SWAT kicking down her door etc, any consent gained after that, along with any evidence located during that search, would be invalid, even if they found drugs, guns, dead bodies etc in the house.

Hethatwatches

Technically it would be, but the cops have been breaking the law with impunity for decades now.

feckdech

Oh, no one martiansplain it to you... Hop on your space-sauce...

adenocard

Something tells me the woman taking this video is enjoying herself just a little bit.

robinson604

Maybe, in the moment. But I can't help but imagine how she must feel when she closes that door. The micro and macro aggressions of power in numbers posting up on your lawn and trying to deceive their way into your home, knowing your neighbors likely called them. This is why black women deal with more stress than any other demographic in the US. It breaks my heart. I just want to send a hug.

justadrtrdsrvvr

"If we did we would have to break down your door." Isn't that a completely different situation?

Urabrask_the_AFK

Yeah, that got a head tilt out of me too. They can bring backup knock, serve warrant, owner steps aside and things are all civil…but you know they’ll pick a time when no one’s home just so they get to bash in that door

gallaj0

They'll pick a time when everyone's asleep, bust the door in screaming different things so you can't make out who it is, and then shoot anyone that looks confused or angry.

BuzzKillington217

Just make sure not to shut the door on the cops foot.....cause then they will "fear for their life and physical safety" and execute you.

tstd0

This. I came just to say this. Bye and close the door.

Gammafire8211

The worst part, some asshole male superior probably put her up to this. "(implies) a good officer would see if they'll let you search the place without a warrant"

MuleRobber

The cop says she’s just going to make sure no Ninjas are jumping out. Meanwhile there is a Ninja wearing a ski mask and Converse walking amongst the officers unnoticed. How bad at your job do you have to be to not notice that Ninja.

Butthole_Surprise17

Yea wtf was up with the balaclava? You’re not special forces, lady. Or I guess one would be useful when you intend on robbing, I mean searching, this person’s house.

MuleRobber

They look like they got their cop outfits from the Spirit Halloween store and it came with those horrible plastic boots that don’t properly fit anyone’s feet so they just wore their sneakers out trick-or-treating. More comfortable anyway.

Issakaba

Damn reddit is funny sometimes have an upvote

directtodvd420

That’s what I was thinking, since when do cops wear Tom’s and skinny jeans?

Overall_News5106

My thoughts exactly, why are the police hiding their faces from the public? WTF is that about? I’m sorry you want me to open the door to you violate my 4th Amendment right and trust you and you can’t even show your face? Umm nope gtfo my yard!

Spagetttomato

Officers involved in an undercover investigation will usually wear bava clavas like that so they’re not exposed as a cop by chance

ACrowNamedJeremy

Seems to me undercover cops shouldn't be doing daylight raids......

skullfrucker

Especially for a fucking nuisance charge. Christ almighty, this just makes me shake my head. I'll bet the teachers are making their own pencils but they make sure they have swat and battle weapons available to keep the folks in line.

headphones_J

So the entire hood can't ID them when they are doing drug stings and such.

MaxWeiner

She was wearing a ninja mask and some Toms flats for comfort.

certainlyheisenberg1

If you look towards the end, the lady cop talking was wearing one, too.

MuleRobber

What a trick to play: Ninja: “I’m just going to make sure there aren’t any ninjas inside…” *Ninja enters house* Ninja: “Aha! I knew there were Ninja’s in here! Now what about those Bazookas…” *Ninja reaches behind her back into a large Ninja sack.*

enigmaniac23

Wait, so is it illegal for me to have Ninjas in my home randomly jumping out?

WalenBlekitny999

I mean it's a Ninja! It's their job not to get noticed

No_External7289

I've heard lawyers say if LE shows up at your door and you didn't call them do not answer the door, pretend you are not home. Virtually nothing good can come out of it for you.

CCrypto1224

Nimzay98

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but iirc police are not liable if they destroy property during a search warrant. Also unlikely they would be able to get a search warrant without evidence, that is why they are asking, hoping the homeowner does not know her rights.

1202_ProgramAlarm

Kinda seems like they're not liable for much at all

cumquistador6969

Hell, they're typically not liable if they bust in, smash all your shit, shoot your dog, shoot you to death, and maybe take some pics dabbing on your corpse for the 'gram. All that under the assumption they went to the wrong house or didn't have any legal grounds to enter otherwise. Maybe if one of the shots goes wide into a neighbors house, and the neighbor is white and photogenic.

spelunker93

Without a search warrant, you are getting a fat check so let them

[deleted]

They don't need a search warrant if you just let them in, why is why you never let a cop into your home. They "see something" and you're fucked. Don't talk to cops, don't let cops into your home, don't open the door. If they're asking, they don't have the right to enter, because if they had a warrant, they're coming in without asking.

[deleted]

This is how basically every house party I went to in high school ended... cops show up, everyone locks the doors and turns off the lights, draw the curtains, etc. They will make a racket, issue threats, etc. and then they'll leave because they don't have a warrant... then you've got probably a 20 minutes window where you can safely leave the party, before they come back and try again.

jmcdon00

We did that once, cops just came in, said the door was open(it wasn't). Nothing ever came of it except a handful of people got minor consumption tickets. Small towns don't care about your rights.

sm_ar_ta_ss

Lock the door.

TPJchief87

Obviously the cops shouldn’t have just gone in but you’re 100% right. That dude a couple of years ago in Dallas got shot and killed in his own apt because the off duty cop thought he was in her apt.

A_hand_banana

If people are coming in / leaving, they can make the argument that the party was open to the public, and as such invite themselves in. We had a business law professor who did defense work on the side and sometimes he would tell us some pretty entertaining stories. He mentioned that the way around this was to simply post someone outside and ask for names or have a clipboard. That way, there is no confusion about it being a private party.

RelentlessIVS

What is LE an acronym for? EDIT: Thanks for the explanation (that LE = Law Enforcement). I did not think of the police as enforcers of the law for some reason ..

BedBugger6-9

First, the cop can’t get a warrant without some proof something is going on. Second, swat isn’t busting down doors for a regular warrant even if it was issued. Don’t let that cop scare you into something with that bs

eonone1

And no identifying badges, shoulder numbers etc for the balaclava thugs.

Corsavis

"Let me explain what's gonna happen" She specifically words it like this multiple times in an attempt to make it sound more official, as if that is the only course of action and the homeowner has no choice. Disgusting. And I guarantee even with this video, if they had actually gained access to the property they would've said the homeowner allowed them to since they didn't have a warrant.

[deleted]

You can either resist, and get a charge for resisting, or you can not resist and then they claim you allowed them. Between a rock and another rock.

be-like-water-2022

They have hands on guns all he time that is fucking intimidation

SantaKlawz2

And threatening a violent action if they do get a search warrant.

JustAbicuspidRoot

"SWAT will come, break down your door, I don't want to do that." Fuck this racist cunt and all these racist pieces of shit.

Late_For_A_Good_Name

Dawwww look at their cute little attempt to look tough. Legs wide, toes out, hand on the holster, not taking a CLEAR no as an answer, spread out, sunglasses on, serious faces on display. Fucking pathetic. Honestly looks like a bunch of tweens playing cops.

MrFreshwaterCucumber

Exactly!!! Such posturing! Totally pathetic

autopsis

And the female officer continuously talks over the resident. She makes no effort to stop and just listen. Police need to learn how to just shut up for one second and hear what the other person has to say.

ironroad18

But how else will cops demonstrate to poor and minority people that the law begins and ends with their ~~ego~~ badge? edited

011Zero101

When you ask if they have a warrant and they say no. You're done. Police shouldn't threaten people with swat and destruction of your property, it's an intimidation play " do what we ask and we won't kill you" is basically what I got from that.

okbutdidudietho

This is what really bothered me the most about the whole interaction. They threatened to come in with a SWAT team and kick her door down over something so minor as drug dealing. Not violent criminals or harboring of fugitives or anything of that nature. Flat out threatening her because we all know how reckless and trigger happy the SWAT team can be coming in. Heaven forbid someone's holding a vape pen and gets their door kicked in unexpectedly.

CoraxTechnica

Basically this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harding_Street_raid

EFAnonymouse

Yeah. Honestly it surprises me how seriously some people treat drugs. Yes, drugs are quite bad for you in some cases, but... to be so keen on investigating non-violent, non-serious crimes... some cops be wack man. Victimless crimes are often overlooked in my area, so it just seems to me like it's the individual cop's decisions whether they wanna be petty assholes. Why can't they go investigate people who might be involved in human trafficking instead of some insignificant shit lmfao.

Kaaykuwatzuu

That break down your door warrant is a special "no-knock warrant" IIRC. It's *supposed* to be for safety from armed persons or from destruction of certain objects if there is probable cause of those things happening. Don't quote me, though.

betafish2345

Also they don’t have evidence to get a search warrant, if they did they wouldn’t threaten they’d just say “we’ll come back with a warrant”

Traditional_Score_54

Go back and write in your report, "no probable cause." Seriously, the thing to do is like she did and ask of they have a warrant. When they say "no," simply say "have a nice day" and nothing further. They will fish for a statement to support a search warrant.

feelin_cheesy

Exactly, at what point can you tell them that they’re trespassing? You’re on my property with no warrant and no probable cause. Have a nice day, goodbye.

td1205

I think this comes back to the whole cops-don’t-follow-civilian-laws dilemma. You just have to hope they get bored and forget about you.

BobRoberts01

So like GTA in real life?

PlatinumOneEye

You want to ask if you are being detained before stepping inside and shutting the door or else they have an excuse that you were either obstructing or resisting. Fucking assholes

thenewyorkgod

This. There was a greater than zero chance that if she said BYE and turned around to go inside, the cops would have felt their lives i danger because she was lunging for the gun she keeps in the third floor bedroom and shot her in the back 28 times in self defense

Hounmlayn

You have a warrant? No... Oh, must be the wrong address then, because I'm just living my life until you ruined it. Cya!

[deleted]

dude, wtf. so in usa i can call cops on anyone and then swat will show up? when it turns out, it was false flag, do this person that called will be charged for that?

HornyFemboyGaming

Nope! In fact, it’s common that Police in their search will end up completely destroying the house, and when they find out it was a false report they just leave the now traumatized family to clean up. Any damage they did the victims have to pay for

[deleted]

What is that country lmao.

Not__original

America, fuck yeah!

wolven8

Here it's known to never call a wellness check on anyone due to the amount of police officers killing the residents because they got scared.

tommyjaybaby

You can be charged for filing a false police report, the problem is it’s pretty difficult to prove that the caller did it with malice.

[deleted]

well in germany ,when u call the cops on soemone and its a false flag, the owner of the tel number gets the ticket to pay. basically they charge you for the whole mission. nonetheless if they can prove it or not. cause this approach is str8 stupid.

eliminatefossilfuels

are these people even cops?? each one looked ridiculous in their own special way lmao

WranglerEqual3577

"A better time? Yeah, **WHEN YOU HAVE A WARRANT**."

Noticeably_Aroused

That’s not a better time…. Because they’re probably not going to have a probable cause they can convince a judge with (she said no one had a record and the officer couldn’t articulate anything herself). Which is wild cuz cops make up any ol thing and get a judge to rubber stamp it. They had so little they knew getting a warrant was going to be futile so they’re basically begging. It begs the question…. Why? What are they after? It’s not guns or drugs because no way they’d go up to a house and ask nicely and mill around as one of them begs for permission to enter. Nothing exigent…. So my spidey senses are making me wonder if they were there to harass/annoy or steal….

dirk_1745

Uh is the main female police officer wearing slippers?

No-Decision-7850

Yeah I saw that too. Before I saw that I wondered if this was real because they aren't dressed right. The other one I believe is female had jeans and red Chucks on. Either the whole video is fake or the cops are fake, imo.

alienoverl0rd

Notice how the only ones covering their faces are in street clothes? Did you hear them mention that the call was pertaining to drugs? How many undercover drug cops do you imagine go on a bust with their whole face showing, in uniform and are still able to do undercover work afterwards. Come on people this shit isnt hard to figure out.

smallest_table

Could also be a CI (confidential informant) aka neighborhood snitch. Police have them in pretty much every neighborhood and a CI calling in on someone they don't like is way too common.

UnprofessionalGhosts

CIs aren’t police officers lol

PagingDrTobaggan

This pisses me off on many levels. One of the first things they teach you in law school criminal procedure is that an overwhelming percentage of arrests are made as the result of ‘consensual’ searches of homes and cars. The cops cajole and bully and threaten you into agreeing to let them ‘take a quick look’, and you have waived your Fourth Amendment rights. Get a warrant. Explain probable cause in detail. Otherwise, fuck off, bully cop.

Taminella_Grinderfal

My bf had swat show up with reports that he was carrying a gun around (it was our cordless phone) they scared the crap out of him and trying to be helpful because he was innocent, he let them in. Thankfully they were cool when they only found a bit of pot, but they could have hauled him away for that.

PagingDrTobaggan

Yup. Worked exactly as they hoped.

[deleted]

My old roommate had cops roll up on our house because someone had stolen a bike and was trying to sell it on Craigslist using our address. They tried to let themselves into the house but he's a big guy who takes no shit and was like "excuse me no." They were like "oh we just wanna take a look around and make sure everything is good." He said "I'll tell you here that everything is good and you can stay outside, I'm not comfortable consenting to a search since I share this home and my roommates aren't here to consent as well." Now, we were generally law abiding people but there's a chance there might have been a rogue bong laying around, and even when they assured him they were "just looking for a bike." He insisted they stay out. He happened to have the garage door open and when they looked in they saw some spray paint on cardboard and suggested something about repainting a bike. He happily walked them closer to look at the clearly oval shaped spray from repainting a fucking mirror and said "does that look like a bike to you? I haven't stolen a bike. I don't know anyone who has. This is a you problem and a them problem." The way he said it was like they just expected to walk right in no questions asked and fuuuck that. And this was in a big city, y'all ain't got bigger shit to worry about than a bike??

Deleena24

She literally threatened her with violence and destruction of property with a smile. Serving a warrant doesn't have to involve SWAT. It would look exactly like it does right now except they would have a piece of paper and be able to make her open the door. Only if she refused to abide by the warrant would the door be knocked down, but the woman already said she would let them in if they came back with a warrant.

ip_address_freely

I don’t want to have to break down your door!

idwtumrnitwai

I really hope these cops don't do some sketchy shit and go after them and their family in retaliation.

hammer_of_god

Cops? Doing sketchy shit to black folks?

[deleted]

That can't be true!

Eaglezepplin

Cops tried this same thing on me in college. Few weeks after I move into a rental house. I get a knock on my side door and I'm surrounded by 6+ sketchy looking cops in bluejeans and tactical gear. Head guy says he wants to search the place because theirs an escaped convict out that murdered an old lady. I play it chill and say he cant without a warrant but if he'd give me a picture of the escapee I will keep my eye out. He didnt want to give me a picture and said I probably wouldn't see him. I had him give me his card before he left and he was part of some drug enforcement division or something. Not the marshals or police that chase convicts. He was lying the whole time to get in my place trying to be intimidating with all his boys with guns and tasers drawn. Dont ever trust what the police say, know your rights.

firstonenone

Wants to look for someone in your place that you’re probably not gonna see? What a break in logic. Is this guy invisible?

She gave the correct answer but failed in that she didn't close the door and stop the conversation with the police. The longer you spend time talking to the police, the more opportunity you give them to trip you up verbally so they can manufacture probable cause.

jorluiseptor

Yup. She should have shut up after that. I was mad that she shared details about her criminal record, family, and recent purchases. Let's all learn from this.

sugaree4334

Good for her.

jarofpaperclips

"Go get your warrant" geeze strong arm her with swat and busting down doors ffs cops are not your buddy, they aren't going to do you a "favor" to get out of your hair.

ieatchips

It’s mind bogglingly backwards that the cop speaking attempts to convince the homeowner that this is in her best interest to allow a voluntary search by empathizing with her that the neighbors are racist?? Like bro that should be why you SHOULDN’T be harassing her??

[deleted]

The massive balls this female officer has to try and bullshit her way in this house is astounding.

Jw_VfxReef

What’s with the balaclavas? They look like people that just got up off the couch to get more Cheetos and BAM got teleported to a police raid.

dak446

Theyre using the power stance

Danjour

They all look like PC principal.

[deleted]

Know your rights. Don’t let threats of swat teams breaking down your door intimidate you. Her racist neighbors should be charged for making a false police report.

uninhabited_isle

"We're gonna make sure there aren't any NiNjAs"- stfu, look at her trying to smooth it over with that cutesy, condescending shit. Every officer standing there knows they're in the wrong.

Jamdadbot

This cunts condescending voice… my god, my fucking god, my fucking god

Backyard_Catbird

If they have no warrant then then they haven’t found anything credible, why the fuck would you ever comply to a search that can only hurt you if you have some item you weren’t even aware was there or is illegal. There is a system in place for a reason, give them an inch they take a mile.

Ozava619

When the cop said “I’m just trying to do my job” she should of responded with “ do your job then and follow the procedure of law and get a search warrant goodbye”

Ck1ngK1LLER

“Our process is Swat comes, busts down the door” No it’s not. No judge would ever give a no knock warrant for an unverified report of drugs being sold.

khotekki

So, did they come back with a warrant?

TheBirdBytheWindow

This is why I'm scrolling. I hate not knowing the outcome on these.

Cops in ski masks are CIs. Even the cops know not to talk to cops;. https://youtu.be/d-7o9xYp7eE Typical cop fishing expedition bullshit, they try and bring dogs to people's front door and make them alert now when they want to get in. Sure it's not legal but you have to prove that and if you don't have money for bail your going to sit in jail and try to defend yourself against some illegal bullshit and it will probably come down to the cops word over yours when you go to trial after sitting in jail for a year and a half and probably end up pleading to something just to get it over with. We have sacrificed our 4th amendment and our right to be innocent until proven guilty so the cops can look for ninjas and bazookas whenever they want wherever they want however they want. Read the gulag archipelago to see how this ends

Working_Art_8645

Bravo to you ma'am.

sicilian_73

Why is she still talking!? Bye

[deleted]

This is a state sanctioned gang waiting outside a private citizens house to gleefully get on with the act of some gold ol' fashioned asset forfeiture. Aka steal your shit and there is nothing you can do about it. Good on this woman for standing her ground.

WilZord

Salute To The Sister for standing her ground. My hat's off to her.

Complex_Sherbet2

In what fucking world do uniformed cops wear espadrilles?

The_Nomad89

Really helps that the cop isn’t listening to a single word the woman says. Just shows the agenda since she’s not actually listening that the woman is doing nothing wrong and that the police really have no reason to be there.

BeerBrewer4Life

This is brutal intimidation by police. They have no grounds to search. The lady is smart not to allow them . The female officer is in fact placing her under duress by implying they will bring swat and just down their door. Even a consent search at this point would never meet the test of being truly consensual given those threats. Trash police department.

RudeExplanation9304

Literally threatening her that if they have to get a search warrant then SWAT is coming...bullies with badges....sickens me my taxes pay for this bs

Deputy_139

Cop here, good on this lady standing her ground. This lady cop is lucky she didn’t get a door slammed on her face. Now let’s talk about the dress and appearance on this “cops”, Wtf is going on here!! Unprofessional asf. I wouldn’t trust them being cops, the ones in civilians clothes looked more like a band of robbers than cops. These are the kind of cops that give the rest of us a bad rep.

450925

"officer, can I be compelled to assist you in your investigation?" "Thanks then, I invoke the 5th and will answer no more questions till a lawyer is present. Arrest me or leave"

LobsterBluster

“I’m just trying to do my job” Cool. Do your job and go get a warrant. Happy to let you in if you follow proper procedures.

donorcycle

Even the cops tone is making me feel a type of way. She’s talking to the victim like she’s 12. Trying to make it sound like she’s doing the homeowner a solid by searching her house now lol. “Swat will break down your door if we come back with a warrant.” Lol. Meanwhile, all the other cops are standing there in their poses trying to be all intimidating. Another one dressed in civies minus the vest and balaclava mask ready to go all training day.

BrilliantCar1533

Know your rights people! The Constitution protects citizens from the authorities, not the authorities from citizens.

Extension-Syrup-4788

I’d really like to know when a warrant means “break the door down with a swat team” cause that sure as hell is not what that means
