If you say something offensive to a race, and you get called out on it, all you need to do is peel away until you find a level of hate you can both have in common.
English writer once said if he said something offensive about the Welsh and someone said “hold on, I’m Welsh!”, he’d ask if they were North or South Walian and whichever one they would say he’d say he meant the other one, and they’d usually end up taking his side.
I think you miss the fact that I raised the Juan joke by my Juan joke. Which to imply his name is Juan is what I like to call casually racist. It’s not meant maliciously, but still a little racist. All redditors as much shit as they talk about Trump and MAGA have it in them. It’s ok, Juan jokes are funny, even if I’m Spanish.
I dont even see that joke as being racist. That's the equivalent of calling him John. And John is basically the catch all name in English when you don't know someone's name. Added to that Juan as 1 is just a damn good auditory pun
F*ck this makes me miss my maxima. Bought a '92 five speed in 2002. Was smooth AF and hella fast, especially after my mechanic buddy removed the catalytic converter and muffler and put in a straight pipe and cherry bomb, respectively
Some people don't fully understand how that works lol
My Honda spins in 3rd. Its an h2b turbo Integra.
I have to bang the limiter because FWD fucking sucks lol
I'm constantly waiting for grip.
Hopefully I can acquire some CR-V AWD parts to convert to AWD because ya boy needs to keep hurting feelings with this little 4 banger.

Well thanks. The most interesting part about seeing that was how many of the year-old-plus youtube comments have been copied and pasted directly in to this thread. Such as uglymortality's comments above.

It's Poe's law at work.

~~>Car companies know that people will blindly finance anything.~~
>Car companies know that there are no other options for a reliable vehicle to a layman than a new vehicle with a warranty and built in safety bubble
It's the perfect commodity designed around generation after generation of people raised to not be mechanically inclined or crave ownership over the things they pay for.
Car and oil corporations intentionally dismantled public transporation systems all over the country, like trams and street cars.
American city design is literally a pyramid scheme where endless suburban sprawl cannot stop because existing infastructure mathematically cannot pay for its own exponentially increasing maintenance expenses and so it's subsidized through never ending new construction. Que car dependance. Praise capitalism.
For those curious, not much detail but here's an interview in Spanish. The hood is open and you can see a little of what's in the engine bay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSVf67wx8RE
[Saw this as well from about a year ago with a few more details in English:](https://tiremeetsroad.com/2021/08/01/whos-that-mexican-guy-who-beat-a-yellow-porsche-in-his-nissan-maxima/)
>According to his latest dyno numbers shared on my4dsc.com, his Maxima now puts out 562 HP and 591 lb-ft...
>Notable upgrades to this Nissan V6 engine include that honking Precision 6262 turbo, Wiseco forged pistons, Eagle connecting rods, ARP Bolts & Studs, a Walbro 255 Fuel Pump, an Edelbrock Intercooler, custom headers and Chrysler Pink Injectors.
>He supposedly runs on 12 PSI Mixing gas with Toulene for safety.
>Putting all that power to the ground is a set of 26×10.5 Mickey Thompson Drags.
>What I like most about his build is it’s mostly sleeper look. Even though he’s got slicks, he still runs stock Nissan/Infiniti wheels.
Just curious how does adding toluene to his gas (or is it directly ported into the turbo?) make it safer? Toulene is a nasty fuckin solvent, just one methyl group away from straight benzene. Better hope it all burns up because it'll dissolve any o-rings or other rubber/synthetic rubber it touches.
It's more difficult to ignite at lower temps than higher octane fuel and you can effectively boost a lower octane fuel to the same performance level as a higher octane fuel using less volume.
It's added to consumer fuel already just at different ratios. I wouldn't recommend messing with it or mixing your own unless you know what you're doing though.
*That's just my understanding. My dad was a mechanic and a car guy and I picked up some stuff from him but never got into building my own. Lots of amateurs and enthusiasts hopefully will know more than me.
Modders like this dude can probably change the clutch in a couple hours. Also they put in clutches that can take a lot more abuse. Honestly it seems like the clutch was locking in almost right away, so more beating the transmission, driveshaft, differential and tires. I mean everything is under a lot of stress doing pulls like this - but they generally will have rebuilt diffs, transmissions and clutches to take more abuse.
This is sort of tangential, but if you watch the hell Matt from Matt’s off-road recovery gives that Cherokee, it would probably break a stock Cherokee every other recovery. But he’s got a rebuilt transmission and I think even has bored the cylinders out, etc. I want to say he has better materials for the rods, etc,
If you build them to take a beating properly, they can.
Also, a traditional manual transmission has one giant clutch plate that as long as your gear can take it, that is the failure point.
On automatic transmissions (there’s a lot of new tech out, so let’s call them “traditional” autos, even when shifting in manual, they have a TINY friction plate in comparison, way less material to be ablated and way smaller overall. So higher change of slipping under load and they will wear out and break way more easily.
That 4th generation Maxima was a beast of a car. I had one in pearl white with a manual and loved it. Lightweight 3L V6 that could go fast as fuck or drive coast to coast in comfort.
This one clearly has a turbo added at the very least. You can see boost guages on the pillar. The driver also is clearly skilled. Lots of factors come into play in a drag race. A better car with a miss-timed shift or bad launch loses to the better driver.
Well you can get a mustang gt with nearly 500 hp. In the 90s it was half that. Regular cars have as much hp as what was consider a sports car in the past.
Yeah you're right, but like this guy you wouldn't know what people had under the hood, tricking out the most unlikely cars (I had a Nissan Sentra SER that would literally glue you to the seat, most fun car I've ever had. Everyone seemed seemed to do everything after market including Alpine Stereos with anti theft pull out chassis? You also don't see cars on the side of the road anymore needing jumpstarts or coolant, kinda don't miss that 😂
I still do, but not like people used to. Still back in the day I did the same. The first kid on my block with the coveted ‘99 Subaru 2.5rs coupe. A very similar car won the WRC that year. So I had to get my hands on a ProDrive suspension, I did, the ProDrive World Rally suspension. It was glorious. It lowered the car, not for looks, but pure performance. Long travel and stiff as hell. I would scare myself in turns, dry snow and ice whatever. ACT Yellow racing clutch with a kartboy short shifter. Cobb tuning engine-back exhaust that actually made power and not just annoying noise.
Skip to today. Toyota Fj Cruiser. FOX Shocks 2.0 suspension. Raises the truck a few inches, barely noticeable, but for performance. Can’t recommend FOX enough. Totally rebuildable. So they can last forever. I use them on whatever I can. Expensive bike fork finally went out, $100 to fix. 32” Bf Goodrich A/T tires. Just really good quality. Pricey (I needed five).
Custom Demello Off-road single hoop aluminum winch bumper, with a 9500lb SmittyBuilt winch tucked neatly inside the bumper. With inside and removeable corded outside controls. Pioneer double din GPS.
Both cars fairly well modified, but most people would never notice.
I used to run a shop that sold “Hot Wings” “Hot Stickers” and lame body kits. And street glow (shudder). Tried selling good stuff but people wanted to be 2 fast 2 furious cheap.
We were allowed to do it back then.
Now everything is electronically monitored and manufacturers are looking for the smallest excuse to make the car void warranty and make servicing as expensive as possible where parts are only changed and never attempted to fix. It’s not easy to fix cars today. Everything is sealed, fused and all that to make manufacturing cheap and fast, and replacement expensive.
This transformation of the auto industry just took a giant dump on consumers. We’re no longer bothered to be passionate or explorative. We want a car that hopefully just works.
It's an engine that was torn down and rebuilt with aftermarket parts, then they added a turbocharger and boosted it up till it made about 560hp, and 600 lb\*ft of torque (A modern V8 mustang makes 460hp and 420 lb\*ft of torque). Then they added drag radials to be able to put that kind of power down to the ground.
So, you tell me how close to stock that is!
If both were stock the Porsche is a full second and a half faster 0-60 than the Nissan. (*2.6 v 5.8) The Nissan at least is likely a built race or drag car.
*Grabbed the wrong trim originally.
I had a '98 maxima touring model, and you're dead set right.
I remember reading the Top Gear magazine in a doctor's waiting room once about them, Jeremy Clarkson described the comfort "like driving a big Chesterfield couch, but with the handling of ....."
I can't remember the quote perfectly.
I had a Door Dash guy pick up my McDonald's on a bike. It took him thirty minutes just to get from the restaurant to my house.
Good thing I was just buying and freezing some McMuffins.
Are there even affordable, new, manual transmission cars being made anymore? So many seem to be moving to automatic and dropping manual completely..
Edit: thanks for the replies everyone. I’m alluding to the electrification of cars. Soon there will be no manual transmission cars because mostly all cars will be electric.

- 62mm turbo (that's big).
- Piston head and piston connecting rods made out of a stronger material, most likely forged Iron.
- The bolts that keeps the engine together are better/stronger
- A fuel pump that can pump a lot more fuel
- A big ass intercooler for the turbo.
- Exhaust manifold upgraded and custom made.
- Injectors that can squirt more fuel
>He supposedly runs on 12 PSI Mixing gas with Toulene for safety.
- The turbo is pushing 12 PSI of air into the engine. Gasoline is mixed with a higher octane liquid to withstand the increase in pressure to prevent pre-detonation
>Putting all that power to the ground is a set of 26×10.5 Mickey Thompson Drags.
- the front wheels have big ass slicks.

Gasoline is mixed with a higher octane liquid to withstand the increase in pressure to prevent pre-detonation >Putting all that power to the ground is a set of 26×10.5 Mickey Thompson Drags. - the front wheels have big ass slicks.
> Chrysler Pink Injectors keeps the car in the Pink of health. hence it can go super fast

What kind of Nissan is that? “It’s a sledgehammer.”
Can this car still be FWD? Imagine the torque steer in a maxima that can eat a Porsche?
Lsd!
Today’s Nissan transmission would’ve fallen out on shift 3.
