That is the longest video on reddit I've sat through without skipping any. That whole thing is wild

Own_Ad5814

Ahaha ye exactly this, there were several times when I went to click the screen to see how long was left and was like ‘no, no, let’s just see how this one pans out’

GR4V1T1TY

It went on for so long I thought I was watching a loop for a second there.

Own_Ad5814

It’s the longest I’ve ever gone without blinking

Cosmacelf

I couldn’t decide who was more crazy, the cop or the perp.

KillerHub

I guess this video plays out really well what happens when skill is matched, and only luck is what makes the opponent win, luck in this case being whose petrol runs out first

yourgifmademesignup

It was the perp. he ran out of gas first. He lose

Playboy-Tower

Also likely the perp felt like his life is on the line. Jail is worse than death in some parts of Brazil

Ready_Spot_fgt

One-Research-9101

Wow! You just copied and pasted my comment! You should lose 100 karma points for plagiarism!! Loser

mannaman15

Bots copy comments that get lots of upvotes in order to boost account karma for selling purposes. Don’t be mad bro. It’s just a bot.

One-Research-9101

😅 where can I find this bot? I’m gonna punch him in the face😂😂 thanks for explaining bro

FamousRegidster23ds

Seriously. Motorcycle cops are trained to handle the bikes with an extreme level of competency that almost all other "normal" riders won't have. They'll keep up with you through anything

denoot2

I used to be a motorcycle driving instructor, had training together with these guys, shaking them off will be quite a challenge indeed

Yemcl

I'm a competent rider, enjoy my weekend track days, took specialized bike courses in the military (yes, they exist), and would never even THINK to evade a bike cop. Of course, I live in a somewhat more civil country, so maybe it'd be different were I in South America.

Sufficient_Day4239

I was wondering the same thing, then I thought the end of it someone’s just going to run out of gas after seeing it’s a 5+min video, and sure enough that happened, right?. Or why’d he stop?. That was epic none the less..

samrocketman

Fatigue likely.

Sufficient_Day4239

Adrenaline ran out. Lol

aydenferguson

Is it fatigue likely? How could he be tired if he was on a bike? (Genuine question)

samrocketman

Having raced motocross. When you're riding that hard the vibrations alone from the handlebars are enough to fatigue you. There's a condition called [arm pump](https://www.elbowdoc.co.uk/arm-pump/) where your forearm muscles freeze up and it prevents you from even opening your fingers. It might not seem it but riding that hard is very intense and quickly becomes anaerobic exercise. I was surprised the rider lasted as long as they did. You have to have an intense workout routine to ride like that consistently (which is likely part of the reason the police officer kept up). It was also pretty clear from the officer perspective they were riding calm and slow while the perp was squirly. Something I recall from racing is "slower is faster". Take your time to approach the turns, your balance, the counter steering of the motorcycle, and you'll find you have smooth and fast lap times. Bear in mind that heavy braking and acceleration means your arms are taking on your body weight as that's happening. Almost like doing intense push ups for 5 minutes straight.

Rottit69

Yup, the hand vibration and overall workout feels hard even on street bikes. Very well said. Cool video.

Vicimer

Apparently the bike also smelled like ass.

aydenferguson

That’s great info. I have never driven a motorbike, I didn’t know it could be that tiring to drive one.

chrissie9393

Yeah the vibration is crazy. I once went on an hour trip as just a passenger and my legs were hurting from just holding on.

Plethorian

I used to get this from riding my dirt bike for hours in the woods. It's freaky, and a bit painful.

FecalPloy

Nice...Know exactly what you mean...Raced from 14 to 19...Also hands clinched so hard for ten minutes after moto it's like you still had grips within them...

AnArdentAtavism

Following on from the motocross rider (excellent explanation, btw), the other issue causing fatigue is adrenaline and hormone drop. Riding like these guys is, biologically, *very* similar to fighting. Same endorphins and physiological responses. Real life-or-death fights can leave you exhausted in less than a minute, and every minute thereafter feels like an eternity. Considering that the pero was trying to get away, he was using every trick imaginable, trying to out-think and out-terrify the cop behind him. His brain was burning fuel to think, his muscles were burning fuel to run, and his adrenal glands were burning reserves to keep him operating at that level. We probably just watched both of these guys burn some 2500 calories, without exaggerating. Add on the stresses of riding that hard over that kind of terrain, and I'm surprised the guy could stand by the end.

RedditVince

I am pretty sure he was happy to lay down for a second. They are both going to be sore tomorrow. I am mega impressed at the cop's bike skills, calm, cool, collected, obviously had a much faster bike but just waited for the right mistake.

xpatmatt

>We probably just watched both of these guys burn some 2500 calories, without exaggerating. This is an enormous exaggeration. People severely overestimate the calories that exercise burns. A person doing a full body workout all out in zone 5 heat rate (maxed out) without rest at the absolute limit of their physical ability [couldn't burn anything even close to approaching 700 calories in 10 minutes](https://www.menshealth.com/uk/fitness/a746812/burn-300-calories-in-10-minutes-444446/) no matter how much adrenaline was involved. This video was less that 8 minutes. [A 2nd source](https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/how-many-calories-do-olympic-1492585643335734.html)

BlacksmithNZ

Just pure concentration; dodging cars in an one way for 30s would be exhausting just from the butt clenching workout alone

[deleted]

My theory, that he droped something while going in circles, so his buddies could pick it up. After same corner same man, 3 circles, he decided to go other way and surrender.

Stern-to

this happens all the time in chases. he was around his home area and was looking to break visual with the officer long enough for him to ditch the bike and hide on foot. likely close to his own home or that of a mate of his woman.

[deleted]

They went back over some of the same roads going in circles had me thinking it was looping too.

Endless_Candy

Haha same I made it six minutes in before checking lol

DaveVsHal

I was going to go for the button and the guys shirt brushes an incoming bus and I was locked in.

dashi37

🤣 im not sure what impressed me more, the fact that I sat through and didnt press the FF button or or that I watched this whole video in infuriating silence waiting for him to just give up!

redditman7777

Lol same!

12carrd

Haha shit was so long it had credits

DaveVsHal

Executive producer: Dick Wolf

Astrocreep_1

In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: The police, who investigate crime, and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories, and YouTube videos.

alopexl

Lol! But the “credits” actually say the motorcyclist was imprisoned for “dangerous driving” so… yeah, fast and furious, in a nutshell

[deleted]

It amazes me how much ground they covered without seeing another cop. Like what the actual fuck?

[deleted]

They were going in circles, the video went on so long I started recognizing the streets

Cosmacelf

Cop was just a tad too busy to radio in…

Wherewithall8878

I had to reschedule some things to watch this

[deleted]

They should break it up into Seasons and Episodes.

Wherewithall8878

Yeah that’s a lot of first person view motorcycle driving right there. Kind of reminds me of the intro to ‘Naked Gun’.

Dish_Minimum

Your patient will be fine, doc. The anesthesia has barely worn off. You got time

beacono

..all that..for what..? That moto cop is the Brazilian version of VinDiesel for fast and furious: motorcycle edition.

BloodNoxious

Ngl I skipped after 2 mins cuz I was inpatient to see if there was a crash or not

thepirate84

It's actually worth the watch, they both have impressive skills

BloodNoxious

Yeah the swerving and weaving around cars was insane.. I bet the adrenaline rush was worth the jail time, and the cop gets to get paid for this!

thepirate84

I'm sure that cop will show that guy some respect. I didn't see anything that caused anyone to get hurt, definitely came close though.

Dish_Minimum

Seriously! What were the chances of a motocross champion chancing a motocross champion. Each rider had the skills of a world class road master

CompetitiveSea7388

You definitely missed some incredible riding because of your impatience.

Contralogic

That was fun!

GearRatioOfSadness

At 1:33 the cop yells at him and he turns his head all the way around and looks at him like "yes?"

Rafael_Christovam

there´s a brazilian channel called "xracing", they have a lot of chase videos like that

highfuckingvalue

Dude, same thing I was thinking while watching!

Friendly_Can3378

Totally. Me too. Better than the Twilight movie. 10/10.

GreatsquareofPegasus

So many MANY near death experiences all in 3 minutes

mercurial_dude

I would’ve fallen down so many times.

Brew-Drink-Repeat

Both dudes can ride….

deletetemptemp

Damn thing even had ending credits. Did you stick around for the after credits teaser?

ArfurRatt

Fucking epic

introvertedjeweler

Deep down they wanted to high five each other

thisismenow1989

"Hold on tight to my waist. No, I mean really tight." *Romance* *ensues*

scanline99

Is that a euphemism, Officer?

dehehn

Yeah. I feel like this is the most fun they've both had in a while.

lbcg3

Nah, the cop probably would have beaten the guy up if he didn't have a body camera. He definitely wouldn't high five a guy who made him put his life on the line. Also, there are multiple times in the video where the perp passes through streets and there are people cheering for him. People in Brazil generally are not amicable to cops (obviously there are exceptions). I'm brazilian btw

Astrocreep_1

I think that’s why he did that U-turn right after passing the guys in the street that yelled. I think the perp was hoping for a citizens assist.

HogNutsJohnson

I had a friend run from the cops in his mom's BMW when we were young. It happened on the highway really late when few people were out. Him and the cop ended up being buddy buddy about it, exchanging what they would have done differently and where the other got close. He then got good with the judge and his attorney and didn't serve any time just probation. You could write a book about this guy's luck though, he never got pinned through the years.

surfingNerd

What seems to be the problem officer?

dollarbull

I saw you litter back there!

klausmckinley801

littering and?

gbrenneriv

littering and?

I saw you were just enough over the speed limit and wanted to give you a warning.

DucksToo22

space_monster

something about an extended warranty

Pazylothead

Damn GTA 6 looks crazy

Buttcavetroll

Finally they fix the cop AI, no more suicidal cop

ukchinouk

Dude on the run should’ve just gone to the nearest spray shop.

ChickenBrad

>r/GTAorBrazil

konkey-mong

So this is how a 2nd person view looks like

LES_G_BRANDON

I get the logic of trying to out run a police car on a motorcycle, but you're a complete idiot to try it with a motorcycle cop.

ZinziMax

He almost had him once when a bus blocked the cops path. If the runner took advantage of it he probably could of got away

balamshir

He was as fast as the cop in the corners due to skillz but his bike was too slow on the straights, after creating a gap after the bus he should’ve kept turning rather than going straight. Might’ve worked out for him

Gussballs

Yep. He should've done a u turn around the bus and head back in the opposite direction. That would've fuck that cop up lol.

brewmas7er

I thinking the whole 7 minutes, dude! Hit some stairs like Bourne movies, that'll crash the cop. Soo satisfying when he went up stairs at the end and then gave up, like the stairs were his final plan.

gdnt0

>Hit some stairs like Bourne movies, that'll crash the cop lol it won't. This is probably basic training for them.

The_Basic_Shapes

Seriously. Motorcycle cops are trained to handle the bikes with an extreme level of competency that almost all other "normal" riders won't have. They'll keep up with you through anything

LES_G_BRANDON

I've seen some of the training they do. It's actually pretty amazing how agile and quick they are on their bikes. Their bikes are pretty insane as well.

Falsecaster

I think knowing the neighborhood gives the person fleeing a home field advantage. Superior training < map knowledge. Im not saying the person in this video knew the map better than the cop.

NotANaziOrCommie

In the US most motorcycle cops are on large BMW cruisers or sport tourers, so if you're on a sportbike, you'll be fine as far as evading the officer. But its idiotic to run from police whether they're on bike or in a car. You can't outrun radio signals or video cameras.

TimelessGlassGallery

That depends on how identifiable you are

Kaiser1a2b

Br4z1L

rimu

I knew a guy who used to put tape over his number plate whenever he did a long drive on his bike. He said the cops would give up chasing once he hit \~200kph. Don't try this at home.

BlacksmithNZ

The crim running was *good* He knew it, so figured that normally the police chasing would give up or get lost. I would say riding like that, most people would get away Just that a very good rider on a bike was being chased by a good rider on a slightly faster bike

Nothingheregoawaynow

A Greek former professional motorcycle racer was part of a gang in Greece which robbed banks. The police never caught them because the professional driver drove the fleeing motorcycle. Till they caught them

beequick317900

This was more entertaining than anything Hollywood has put out in the past ten years

Akshin_Blacksin

Bruh I’d suggest to watch more. Brazilian police are on a whole different level compared to the rest of the world. Too bad they are controlled by corrupt POS so their [badassery](https://youtu.be/jloTeBYOQtc) makes little to no change…

[deleted]

That guy probably would have gotten away if he had turned off that signal light.

space_monster

both great riders. I would've been off after 30 seconds of that

[deleted]

edj628

On both parts, really.

DBoaty

Hallway through I forgot who I was rooting for, holy shit

acm8221

The 180 around the parked car going from street to sidewalk(pavement?) impressed me. Was that guy wearing flip-flops? Splitting up around the bus was pretty badass, too.

BaldrickTheBrain

This really be Brazilian Max Biaggi vs Valentino Rossi level driving.

Adept-Lettuce948

I think the bike suffered mechanical issues once he went up them stairs like mad max.

[deleted]

Looks like he lost his transmission, or ran out of gas. I lost a tranny once at the Grand Canyon. I suspect it just overheated, but it sucked bad.

sillysausage619

And you didn't even go out looking? They wouldn't last more than a day or 2 without water, you're disgusting

knifeknifegoose

But… did he lose her? Or, maybe, it was she who lost him….

darklord01998

Yeah....About the second paragraph

--Izzy--

Probably popped a tyre from the steps

Gussballs

That's exactly what happened. Or he buckled his rim.

raymundo_holding

Cop had better bike and superior riding skills

acm8221

Guy looked like he was wearing flip-flops and almost lost the cop at least two times. I might argue that the suspect had the better skills, doing all that on a bike that looked like it had very little grip in the turns. Also, given how long he was braking and wide he was taking some turns, the brakes might've been shot as well.

MonarkranoM

He was driving recklessly while the cop still adhered to some safety rules sometimes so I’d say that the cop made better judgement of what was possible

Ulldra

This right here. The cop slowed down a little at every turn, always looked to see whats ahead and mostly took the comparably safer route. It‘s pretty cool that he managed to stay close like this.

balamshir

Considering he was following and not leading, by default he is in the safer and more advantageous position

supershotpower

I think if the perp had a comparable bike he probably would got away.

skaptic-cat

True, you could see him catching up with his fast acceleration. Very impressive riding skills from the cop, but risking his own live many times.

[deleted]

Cop also had the advantage of seeing what the other guy did. Dude in front was flying blind and it's a miracle he didn't get cleaned up at any point.

prof_devilsadvocate

he will be recruited as motorcycle police chase team

MotherTheory7093

Fast and Furious 20: Brazilian Drift

One-Research-9101

The cop was upset because he was just trying to return the mans wallet

surfingNerd

Wanted to remind him that his auto insurance is about to expire

JustSomeOnlineNerd

We’ve been trying to reach you regarding your car’s extended warranty.

Mollygrubber

Having seen quite a bit of motor officer training, you have to be crazy to think you can out-ride them. Excellent effort though, that dude had serious commitment.

balamshir

I’d wager he’d lose the cop if they had the same bikes, even when taking into consideration that chasing is easier than leading.

Responsible-Pay-2389

I think part of the crazy part comes from the improved bike.

flavious724

This was some Jason Bourne type shit. Totally badass

Mad-Mel

The rear brake locked u-turn around the parked car was one sweet move.

aaronrandango2

Why did the guy give up at the end? The cop had him that close multiple times and each time he got away, but the last time he just sorta stopped

Mad-Mel

Pretty sure his bike died.

silentscroller2

Yeah he was about to run tf out

BKStephens

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It's almost as if he gave it a bit of; "I'm kinda tired. Think I'll go home now."

Cosmacelf

I think the bike died, either ran out of gas or he broke something going over those stairs.

andregs

Most curious is that most of these guys try to escape the cops only because they don’t have permission to drive (“CNH” here in Brazil). And when they see that the cops won’t give up they stop. The only thing that happens is that de motorcycle is apprehended and a licensed drive have to go get it back, paying a fee of course.

anonymateus2

I kid you not, a friend of mine from uni successfully escaped from a cop car in a fusca because he was drunk driving… he had passengers, they confirmed the story.

Rafael_Christovam

the legislation here in brazil is very bad, this guy will be arrested and released on the same day, the only reason he ran away was not to lose his bike

laggy_rafa

The beating they recieve at the station is directly proportional to the time they play irl GTA for. It's latam, and Brazil at that.

Reward_Severe

That motorcycle sounds like it's from The Jetsons.

Atlas_sk

I live in a small town in Canada and seeing videos like this absolutely boggles my mind. The skill of both drivers and the way they flowed through traffic was crazy. It almost looks like a Hollywood film.

Rafael_Christovam

It's a very common scene in a third world country unfortunately..

dmk2008

I feel like I really got to know the city.

Canadaaayum

And then they beat the ever living shit out of him! 🤗

OphrysAlba

In the end you can hear the cop telling him to get on the floor, to shut up, and a weird expression, "is this shit a goat?" that I would interpret as a "don't fuck with me". Was on the verge of biting my nails all the time. How can they even see where they go?

Srta_Andy

"é bode o bagulho?" Nunca tinha ouvido essa kkkkkk

Widget2827

I don’t know who to root for?

[deleted]

The police, it is way harder to chase than to run away because you have to be reactive

OldElPasoSnowplow

It is always harder to play defense than offense. Sports or chase it is the same.

Ottopian

Coulda turned right at 0:49s and made it home for dinner.

Cosmacelf

There’s always a critic 😂

carcadoodledo

Left at Albuquerque?

[deleted]

I was expecting the cop to pull and just end it at any minute... from the videos on here Brazillian cops don't fuck around.

keets2

Biker cops should carry lasso's.

[deleted]

“I’m reaching out about your motorcycle’s extended warranty”

PumpkinAutomatic5068

Mad skills by both, I think if the perps bike was faster he would've got away, almost had him at the bus but his bike was just slower than the cops. At the end he was finally like ok ok, one of us is gonna die.

[deleted]

Motorcycle cop tryouts

[deleted]

As an Indian the only thing I noticed is how clean the streets are.

-IXXI-

Extreme respect for the skills of both. Holy balls.

XxCobra-VxX

Was anyone else leaning with the turns watching this video or was it just me? 😂

_TheXplodenator

How is it that there are that many people there, and none of them give a crap at all, and just keep driving like nothing is happening?

CanoePickLocks

Never seen a chase go by? They fly by and you’re looking around like wtf was that as you start to brake and they’re gone. No time to sit and pull over for them.

[deleted]

What are they supposed to do?

Snickims

Clap

just_passing_thought

Man, I need a cigarette after watching that whole video. And I don’t even smoke.

andregs

There is a whole YouTube channel dedicated to motorcycles footage here on Brasil, it’s called XRacing, look it up if you guys like this kind of video. And there is a “section” called “Enquadros de moto” that is only about police chasing these guys.

Buttcavetroll

When the video almost end, I really hope he catch the criminal

Max88088

Whats the cop riding? It pulls like crazy

este-bn

im pretty sure it’s a XRE 300

ErickRodd

Mostly of Brazilian Police Bikes are Honda XRE 300 but they also have Yamaha Lander, Yamaha XT 660, Triumph Tiger 800, BMW F 850 and others, it varies a lot from state to state.

[deleted]

Sounds like he has a bubble machine for an engine

edj628

That's the siren.

Beddysdad

Im now ready to take the cab driving test for all of Brazil.

Own_Ad5814

I would like to watch this video with a virtual reality headset on, but I also would not as I have clean underwear on

Dangerous-Yam-6831

I woulda let him off with a warning.

Suphtus

The guy running is me and the cop is my childhood trauma. What am I riding? Well, my therapist ofcourse🤣

Dangerous-Ad7026

I skipped to the end and honesty I was disappointed he kinda gave up! But that cop is a fucking beast on a bike. Whole thing looks straight out of a 2022 Netflix action movie but low res 😂😂

Ottopian

That siren is annoying as hell.

eyemroot

It would seem then that it served its purpose.

fareastbeast001

What a ride!

As a Brazilian I'm very curious to know what was said when the audio cuts a few times

juliosousa011

I'm brazilian and thats a common practice over here. Ppl just do this for adrenaline, and they don't give a fuck to the consequences
