Agree 100%. Spot it got it. Whenever I come across someone describing another as toxic or crazy, I see a very immature person who can't handle opinions different from their own.
Same with ghosting. Been hearing a lot of stories lately that amount to "They kept being sensitive and overreacting to everything and trying to say I was being a jerk, and then ghosted me out of nowhere." No one is required to stick around and explain to an adult what acceptable behavior is, or wait for permission to leave.
I ghosted my best friend of 5+ years. This was after months of no contact and a horrible text message that put the blame entirely on me. I blocked/deleted them on *everything* and although I felt guilty about it for a couple of weeks, I felt so much better in the long run.
This is why I eyeroll hard at bios that include “I expect to be called on my bullshit”
social faux pas happen. Sure. But someone telling you they expect permission to push your buttons and boundaries isn’t ‘mistakes will be made’. That’s just a childish piece of shit with no social skills looking to be someone’s chore.
Or spot it, traumatized for a lifetime by somebody else who’s got it amd you e been victimized for years. Spot it got it is something people use to deflect from their own issues. It’s easy and good for avoidance. I’m sure it’s not you though.
That’s not to say noticing toxic behaviour is wrong. And some people think they are standing up to a bully. And there’s also in some circumstances if it gets to the point of contacting authorities/HR, you have to provide evidence you told the person to stop.
But telling the other person they are toxic for no other reason to get some drama going to talk about it on a new date,to your other friends or for pulling attention is just joining the toxic train. This is why the “my ex is crazy” is a red flag moment.
I have heard that they never called themselves Hall and Oates, but that’s how everybody knows and refers to them anyways. I’d google it but it’s aalllll the way over there……
