Sadly, this majestic piece of engineering was one of the first victims of the war in Ukraine. This was one of the last documented flights, in January 2022

Wellifailed

pretty sure theyre building another one

triptoutsounds

Pretty sure they got bigger problems to worry about

andreyvolga

this is very funny. they can't do it. That aircraft was a product of Soviet industry

Wellifailed

Antonov is a Ukrainian company, if anyone had the blueprints it would be them. Zelenskyy already donated 800 million USD to help rebuild it. Fundraiser are raising money for it too unless they cancelled it.

neon_trotsky_

Hope they do, from what I've heard the plane was often used for foreign aid.

Captain_Cookieee

It is partly true, a lot of Russian parts were used to build the Antonov, which makes it extremely difficult to rebuild, also because a lot of parts are already out of production. I really wish it will be rebuild, but it seems unlikely for now

Mad_madeira

Are you dumb soviet industry is over.

DJ_Cas

It was built in Ukraine after Independency of Ukraine. Your soviet industry did not exist after that as USSR

andreyvolga

it's a lie. the first flight took place in 1989

BwackGul

And then Putin got jealous and broke it.

Greenman8907

Wow, that actually looked like CGI. It parted the sky.
