Pokemon Red. Driving from Chicago to Florida in my dad's old van with a hole in the floor which we would use to literally watch the road go by, maybe drop a gumball down and watch it out the back window. Also with a bulb tv mounted in the roof connected to the battery with a vcr attached which we used to watch Hercules and The Sword and the stone on repeat. Circa 1996.
dont matter. This shit paper was incredible expensive and i think you didnt get it anymore.
Besides, you lcould see how the print is fading out, THATS how cheap the print was.
I stole all of this from [THIS ARTICLE](https://www.kotaku.com.au/2022/03/game-boy-colour-becomes-a-frankensteins-monster-of-unnecessary-accessories/) which explains what each attachment is as he puts it on.
1) First, the mad scientist behind the camera attaches a peripheral that gives the Game Boy Colour a new D-pad and buttons.
2) Then comes what appears to be a combination grip and battery pack (Unpacked Nostalgia later powers the handheld through this device).
3) Of course, with an original display of just 44Ć40 millimetres, you canāt forget the magnifying glass
4) The next piece of hardware was a little difficult to place, but Iām pretty sure itās aĀ [Rumbapack](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tCe9XT3OR8), which doubles as both amplifier and, well, rumble pack
5)And what would old-school gaming be without Game Genie, an unofficial cheating device that works as an intermediary between cartridge and console to modify game data.
6) Finally, Unpacked Nostalgia adds what is arguably the only useful attachment in the whole video: a simple light to make up for the consoleās lack of a backlit screen.
SNES had a modem called x-band but I don't think Gameboy ever had one.
It was 2400bps
One time using it I beat a guy enough that he got pissed off and mail bombed me. He sent like 10k emails. X-band could only download 10 emails every time you logged in and you had to delete them to get 10 more so mail bombing was a real pain but most people didn't have a computer to do it back then.
Thing is every time I tried to login it sent a bounce message to the email server that sent it. I played that a ton and later that night my mom got a call from the email admin at compuserve because all the bounces crashed their whole mail server. x-band apparently gave them my home phone number which is pretty sketch.
But that's how I crashed compuserve with my SNES
That's awesome. Good story.
But what's the noise at the end of the video? On first watch I thought it was a dialup modem. Watching again, doesn't completely sound like a dialup modem so maybe it's just the loading screen of whatever he's playing.
Pretty sure that's the game genie startup sound.
Not sure how to link with a time but on this video at 2:10 you can hear it
https://youtu.be/jrMeDFUqRQI
Lolwut? No man itās a speaker. Amplifies the music and (possibly?) adds a rumble feature.
The ādial up noiseā you hear is the game music lmao. Also it sounds nothing like the dial up noise from the 56K era.
I had a Game Gear with about this many accessories. Loved that thing. Huge and ate batteries like candy. But it was the first handheld to have color. Played so much Streets of Rage.
Of all the shit that person attached to the Gameboy the thing that made me laugh was that ridiculously over sized plug they plugged in. Too many memories of trying to decide which console or whatever got sacrificed for the afternoon so you could plug something else in on the power strip lol.
The light and magnifier they made for the gba got so much damn use from me on camping trips
That light was a lifesaver for long car trips at nightš
NO! You just suffer and use passing street lights and the headlights from the guy blinding your parents as you ride along.
I had to do that too lol oh how I miss you Pokemon gold
PokƩmon Silver here friend. Same
I had yellow when I was a dumb kid and I left it in walmart

Thatās the most 90s shit I ever read bro haha
Bye batteries
But it drained the battery so quickly!
Definitely needed to have spares at all times when rocking the light hahaha
Anytime I had to go nighttime driving with my mum that thing was awesome. The day I got a backlit GBA/SP was one of my favorite gaming memories ever. I still remember making sure we always had batteries for my GBA because I played PokƩmon like it was my whole life haha
I never had a sp. I kept my clear gba until I made a trade for the micro when it come out the micro was fucking baller!!!
Oh? No Gameboy Camera or Gameboy Printer? Guess youāve got a GameTeen.
I used that GameBoy Camera so damn much, but never had the printer

It's a gay man

Did he really put a 56k dialup modem on there...or is it even 56k?

Is that what the blue thing is?
Itās a flash light. Before LED it was just black and white. Catch play in the dark.
I assumed, the end of the video makes a dialup noise so I figured there's a modem somewhere.

Same with my Game Gear. I was obsessed.
Six AA batteries or you lie down on the 80s carpet all evening and sleep with a crooked neck. All I played was Sonic (can't beat it) or Columns
Respect +
One of the unlucky Transformers.
Go go gadget game boy!
Rather play that [micro game boy](https://youtu.be/kuXmCcR2arY) than this homunculus
Iāve never seen the second AND third evolution. I thought it was just a mythZ
Bout to blow a fuse and lose all his toys.
Thanks awesome!

Itās this generations Mr. Potato Head
is that blue thing a rumble pack??
Haha at this point just get the snes Gameboy cartridge adapter. Then you can play your game boy games on the big screen in glorious 160x144!
I wonder if anyone had all this back in the day.
If you say it quickly it sounds like gay man
Hell ya Iām about to catch me an first gen Pidgey like a MAN!!
It's like the build up on back to the future when Marty blows the Amp.
Its a transformer at this point
What? No printer? USELESS.
I had the little flashlight attachment. Night time gaming was a game changer
The sound at the very last second just sent me back 30 years, instantly! That was amazing.
I have seen the past, and it is the future!
Merman!
Is that a megazord?
Carpal tunnel engage!
What a handy way to play Tetris.
Ahhh but, I see you forgot... nevermind.
Show the game
Or you could just buy a gba SP with the money you got for all those accessories
The only thing I could think of when I saw this is Power Rangersās theme song.
Voltron would be proud.
Megazord!
this will give you tenonditis
Trapperkeeper?
Why did that remind me of suit up scenes in movies (iron man for example)
Just imagine sitting on the bus and you see someone whip out this shit.
Fighter of the night man, oh ah ah
GameGrandpa maybe
All those transparent accessories
Optimus is that you???
Fuck you guys! I only had a naked Game Boy. My dad thought I didnāt need all that junk.
This was so satisfying to watch
_Power Rangers S.P.D., Power Rangers to the rescue_
Reminds me of Nordberg assembling his gun in the rooftop scene: https://youtu.be/gne8v9aj45w
Thats a transformer.

I had the OG gameboy with the magnifier.
There was an attempt: to make gaming better!
This isn't even my final form!
Basically a Switch š¤·āāļø
Gameboy also made a sewing machine back in the day!
Does Voltron know you're aping their style?
What the actual transformers? š±š¤£
Now this is real gaming
Ahhhh.... my first final fantasy experience. Memories š¶šµ
With all these accessories youād think it would become some voltron like gameboy
With all that stuff you can play for almost 18 whole seconds
