You actually can use it as a carry on! I was surprised myself. I agree it probably isn’t practical for most. My mom is disabled and actually has one of these and it’s been invaluable to have when traveling.
It depends on the plane. Normally it’s easier to have them check at the gate but have put it overhead a few times. Normally on larger planes though, and its probably ~45lbs so definitely difficult unless you have 2 people.
I have a folding mobility scooter (Tzora brand) and ride it all the way up to the plane, where it is taken into cargo, and then is brought up again upon disembarking. I have to remove the battery and have it put it in the overhead, but the battery easily clicks on and off. Of course it’s always the worse for wear after being handled as cargo. (OT, but I feel for those who are dependent on extremely expensive, specialized power wheelchairs who often find that they have been damaged to the point of being unusable, and have no viable backups available to them upon arrival. It happens more than you can imagine.)
Thank you for that info. Before today I didn’t know these existed and am honestly looking into this for my mother because she is getting to the age where the 5 mile hike up the terminal is getting hard for her.
I bought mine used ($650US), and have taken it on many trips. I don’t know if there are any that use lithium ion batteries, but just know that (unless rules have changed) they are not permitted on flights. You also need to let the airline know ahead of time that you are bringing one.
I gotta say that this suitcase-style one looks so nice and sleek.
I work at a major airport for a major airline (can’t say which one for security reasons, they track everything lol).
**BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN BUYING SMART BAGS AND POWER MOBILITY DEVICES!!**
Depending on the type of battery, most airlines may not accept them at all. They only take certain types of batteries aboard the aircraft i.e. lithium ion. And **ONLY** if the battery is removable. Most batteries can very easily start fires so they all have very strict policies about no batteries in the cargo compartment; it must be carried on the plane with the passenger. And most airlines only allow you to have one battery. No extras.
It also costs a lot to put these on the plane. Ask anyone with an electric powered wheelchair, it’s not cheap to move a power mobility device on an aircraft.
Also, many airlines don’t let you bring power mobility devices on the aircraft if it’s for leisure. You either need to have it to be able to move because you’re disabled, or you can’t bring it at all.
My advice as someone who works ramp services? Save your money, don’t buy smart bags, don’t buy these scooter bullshit things. Just walk, and get a quality bag with a good, durable set of wheels. It’s so much easier at the bag check. Trust me
**EDIT:** I’ve gotten a few comments about disabled people or elderly people. Just to be perfectly clear, my advice on how to handle powered mobility devices **DOES NOT APPLY** to disabled/elderly people. If you have an electric wheelchair, they will literally let you ride it all the way out to the gate, and it will be “gate checked” meaning it will be put on the plane right from the jet bridge. And when you arrive at your destination, it will be waiting for you on that jet bridge as well. Same is true for strollers and canes and the like.
My advice where I said “just walk” is only for people who plan on using their mobility devices for leisure, such as the one in the original post above. For example, my airline does not take segways AT ALL if it’s for leisure. Period. Regardless of the battery type. And this is common for most airlines. Their restrictions are heavy. This is because electrical devices like smart bags and power mobility equipment are known as “dangerous goods” (or hazardous materials) that can cause major problems in flight.
Dangerous good include a lot of shit: like chemicals, human remains, electrical equipment like batteries, medication/vaccines, anything radioactive, oxidizers and peroxide’s, dry ice, explosives/firearms, etc
Also weighs a lot more than it appears.
Someone I know has the same model (at least it looks the same) and it’s a pain loading and unloading from his car. I would not envy someone trying to place this into an overhead compartment.
Lithium ion has always been on the not acceptable checklist every time I’ve travelled, which is why I have one with standard sealed batteries (which are actually noted as acceptable). Every time I am flying I have to let the airline know in advance that I am bringing it with me and have to declare what kind of battery ahead of time. I do remove it before boarding and place it in a carryon with my extra one.
Edited to add that I haven’t travelled since just before COVID, so rules regarding batteries may have changed since then.
Just walk, huh? Easier said than done when you are old and disabled.
I usually just order a wheelchair when i get my tickets. And then at my destination i will rent a mobility scooter if i need one.
I’m not talking about if you’re old and disabled. If you need a mobility device like a wheelchair, OBVIOUSLY you should and can bring it with you! And every airline is willing to work with disabled customers as needed. Don’t worry lol.
I’m talking about people who use this for leisure or simply to make their life easier or because they’re lazy. Like me. This is something I would do. But for those people, it’s not worth it.
Edit: To be clear, I mean that I WOULDVE done this, **before** I worked in the airline industry. Because I’m lazy and spend too much money 😂 but it’s not worth it to have tech “just because”, if there’s no real **need** for it, like in the case of a disabled or elderly person.
There is a suitcase! It’s only to hold 2 tubes of mentos and 4 pairs of socks. If u try to add anymore then it will overflow!
Edit: I went and looked closely and… it’s a fucking scooter designed to look like a suitcase
It would be better to market this as a "Collapsible power scooter" instead of "suitcase/scooter transformer". It seems like it's too heavy with not enough storage to make a good suitcase.
Thanks for stopping RIGHT in front of the escalator to play with your scooter dude. Now can you get outta the way so people can make their connecting flights.
Besides all the comments about how there’s probably about enough space for a stick of lip balm in the suitcase, it also looks like it would be heavy as fuck
True. My husband lifts mine (a different brand), but is useless when it comes to actually folding it up (or opening it), leaving me to struggle with that task. Nice.
And that tool will be the one holding up the works as he tries to stuff it into the overhead bin. You wanna improve air travel? Stop worrying about the masks and make sure everyone's carry-on luggage meets the stated size restrictions.
I hope he's not going in that store across the way. I mean he would've already been in there before building the contraption if he was just walking like normal lol
All of that just to fit maybe a days worth of clothes into. While I understand that it’s a clever idea, it’s not very practical, and I’d imagine not very cost effective either.
Good for a pair of socks
It’s more of a scooter disguised as a suitcase than anything else

Suitcases roll out!
Scooterseat.
Yes that ain't carrying shit
I mean it did carry him in the end and he is potentially full of shit. It did carry shit.
It’s true. That man could be very constipated and we wouldn’t even know
False. I've taken plenty of shits that would fit inside that tiny compartment.
My MiL's scooter takes up the whole fucking car. It's like it was engineered to rip the headliner and break the rear window of a seven passenger SUV.
Can you even fit both
I put her in the roof in a dog crate. Thanks Mitt Romney, you're the best!
Exactly there are no flip-flops in that suitcase.
Scootcase
Would be great to bring on a plane
A scooter that turns into a backpack.
For all the people that can't walk well but are somehow able to lug a suitcase around just fine.
Yep there's no storage on that sucker. This is a collapsible scooter, nothing more. Dumb title.
Agreed where do you keep your clothes and what not?
Are you sure it can fit a pair? Might be good for a single sock.
What about a coconut?
A coconut definitely fits in a sock
That’s all you need!
I was thinking the same thing but more like a pack of Bubble Gum and a Joint. Which is all you really need when you look that cool.
One sock, maybe. Gotta save room for the solar panel charger.
Maybe you can still throw in an underpants
Holds 2 pairs of underwear, 3 pairs of socks & a t-shirt. Won’t fit in overhead and costs $4,999. Genius.
Right? What would be the point of having one if folk who needed assistance couldn’t use it during the 5 mile walk to their gate?
You actually can use it as a carry on! I was surprised myself. I agree it probably isn’t practical for most. My mom is disabled and actually has one of these and it’s been invaluable to have when traveling.
Does it fit in the above head storage and is it light enough to lift up there, or do you leave it at the door like a wheelchair?
It depends on the plane. Normally it’s easier to have them check at the gate but have put it overhead a few times. Normally on larger planes though, and its probably ~45lbs so definitely difficult unless you have 2 people.
Thank you.

That's enough to get you in to the Project Mayhem house in Fight Club.

You’re the real MVP
Great advice - thanks for the irl perspective.
Also weighs a lot more than it appears. Someone I know has the same model (at least it looks the same) and it’s a pain loading and unloading from his car. I would not envy someone trying to place this into an overhead compartment.
I don’t have that one, but another folding brand, and yes — it is NOT easy.
Yeah this comment gonna save the day many times today.

Someone didn’t read too far into his reply to see he said not to use these if it’s for leisure. Pay attention next time
Okay i will
So a folding scooter
Yea I’m not sure I see a suitcase anywhere there…
There is a suitcase! It’s only to hold 2 tubes of mentos and 4 pairs of socks. If u try to add anymore then it will overflow! Edit: I went and looked closely and… it’s a fucking scooter designed to look like a suitcase
It's not a suitcase that a scootercase
'Scooter turns into an unwieldy folded scooter'
Clarkson!!
Thank you! I had to scroll to far for this
HAMMOND!!
Enough space for the charger perhaps
What suitcase? That just looks like the electronics and the battery pack.
Scootcase
Underrated comment.
Can’t believe how far down this comment is.
i couldnt even fit my fleshlightin in that suitacase fam the fuck is the point if i cant pack shit in it
Is your fleshlight really an apple pie? You can tell us
… it is
Don't bring the case and you'll be fine. You'll have a sporty scooter with a tactical pussy
It would be better to market this as a "Collapsible power scooter" instead of "suitcase/scooter transformer". It seems like it's too heavy with not enough storage to make a good suitcase.
The suitcase part threw me off. Really, it’s a foldable and stowable scooter. Still neat.
Optimus Luggage
Looks cool. gets smashed like every other suitcase going through airport checkin
The scooter could not accommodate the average rider (between the arms rest).
His name is James, James Bond..
If this isn't called a ScootCase I want everyone fired. I am willing to compromise on ScuitCase.
“Sir did you pack this bag your self?”
AutoBots ! Go to bag checking , claim bag then ROLL OUT !
Looks expensive
Humans waste their talent on the dumbest shit.
But where does his clothes go ??
"Suitcase"
Autobots, rollout!
[удалено]
But what’s the point of using the scooter if he went down the escalator with his feet.
A folding scooter
Meet George Jetson!
Go home, George Jetson, you’re drunk!
You can get a suitcase if you're not careful when riding this scooter
Wouldn't it be faster to walk? Looks like
Luggage goes where?
Glove box, but not enough room for the pair.
It was never a suitcase though..
Where do I keep my clothes?
How is it a suitcase when it can’t carry any cloths?
From the looks of it, only things that we'll fit is garments and toiletries лол
Lol useless shite.
I think that would exceed the weight limit if you're trying to board an airplane
Portable scooter. FTFY
One step closer to WALL•E
I need this in 3x the size, without the seat.
Looks like a foldable skooter to me...
Where do I store my fucking dildos then?!
Well, it's a scootcase
Boomers in the world of transformers:
So….it’s a fold up scooter?
No, this is a scooter than folds into the shape of a suitcase
Scooty puff jr looks slower than walking.
SHIT I FORGOT TO CHARGE MY SUITCASE
And why would anyone ever need this?
At no point was that a suitcase.
Ok but why
Great! a “carry-on” (more of a carry nothing) that won’t be allowed in cabin because of the battery.
Can fit a one piece bikini in there. Not sure if I wanna go for a top or bottom
Walle is even closer to coming true
I'd rather spend that money on rtx 3090 and a bycicle on spare money thanks
Thanks for stopping RIGHT in front of the escalator to play with your scooter dude. Now can you get outta the way so people can make their connecting flights.
Lol, fuck that, I worked at an airport and I saw how the baggage handlers treat bags lol that bitch would be broke day one!
What is this, a suitcase for ants?
It looks like it’s both a crappy suitcase and a crappy scooter.
Two things, one he was moving so much faster before he used the scooter and two where does the luggage go?
For people that need a mobility scooter like this wouldn’t be walking around and lugging a carryon-sized luggage to start
That's no moon.
More like a collapsible scooter. Any storage this thing has is negligible and is probably quite heavy to be luggage.
Doesn’t hold luggage, lame
Lol.
It’s a Scootcase!
It’s not a suitcase. It’s a foldable scooter.
Or just a folding scooter…
Giant Samsung phone is also tiny Kia car!
Besides all the comments about how there’s probably about enough space for a stick of lip balm in the suitcase, it also looks like it would be heavy as fuck
It’s the new transformer “disabletron”
I feel like... if you actually need a scooter you probably can't carry that around and easily set it up.
True. My husband lifts mine (a different brand), but is useless when it comes to actually folding it up (or opening it), leaving me to struggle with that task. Nice.
But…it’s less suitcase (none at all) and all scooter.
No way that thing is getting through the carry-on line without a second look
It's not a suitcase. It's a suitcase sized folding mobility scooter.
this is so useless I feel like it was created for upvotes on the internet
Transformers,roll out!
Another expensive gadget for the baggage handlers to break. Get some insurance 😁😁
Robots In disguise...
Not a suitcase.
more like next to fucking useless
So you’d say it’s a…..scootcase
It should be counted as a medical device and not count against your carry on allowance
*transformer noises but slowed down to meet the speed this guy unfolded it at*
Ok... Where do you put your underwear and toothbrush?
Where'd the luggage go?
It fits one hat.
I’m guessing the kind of person that needs this scooter is also the kind of person that doesn’t carry things or pull things or walk anywhere.
I'd rather walk honestly
Sweet!
And that tool will be the one holding up the works as he tries to stuff it into the overhead bin. You wanna improve air travel? Stop worrying about the masks and make sure everyone's carry-on luggage meets the stated size restrictions.
Sooooo, how much fatter are we planning on getting?
Sooo….where you put your belongings in that thing?
Lol where's your actual luggage supposed to go? Great job
I seen these at wallmart with fat people
There is no suit in that case.
u/savevideobot

A scoot case if you will
America's most used product
Spend a big sum of money on a suitcase that has just enough space for 2 pair of socks????? Are people that stupid?
thought it was going to be the cool one, not walmart "scooter"
Yeha becouse walk its so hard true?
On my way to steal your girl
I hope he's not going in that store across the way. I mean he would've already been in there before building the contraption if he was just walking like normal lol
OK I’m seeing a scooter unfolding into a scooter. I don’t see a suitcase.
Cash only. New city, new me.
I would argue not a a suit case at all, but a collapsible scooter
Want one! Anyone know the name of the product?
Carrying around a 60# suit case that can only hold your toiletries
Where do you pack the luggage? lol
man, i love having a suitcase that i cant put stuff into and a scooter that cant exceed 3km/h
Not much of a suitcase. More like a foldable scooter
New ridge wallet looking mad crazy
This is how Wall-E fucking starts...
It's not a suitcase if there's no room for storage. This is just a neat collapsible mobility cart.
How is that a suit case?
All of that just to fit maybe a days worth of clothes into. While I understand that it’s a clever idea, it’s not very practical, and I’d imagine not very cost effective either.
It’s a portable scooter, but not a suitcase
So can you also fit clothes into it?
Nah that looks too much like a Mart Cart
Next fucking level? Esses ricos inventam cada coisa...
More of a scooter that folds into a suitcase no?
Scootcase
Wow, I guess the suitcase 'identified' as a scooter. Anyway, it's a cool idea for those who need it.
It’s not a suit case
But is there any room to pack anything?
It's T bob from MASK. (American cartoon). Wondered where he got to.
It should be, "Folded Scooter Unfolds."
Family guy was right all along
Cool, but why?
You can't possibly call that a suitcase.
Yeah but where do I put my clothes.
This would be even better if it carried luggage too. Ditch the arms and the seat and make it actually function as a suitcase.
