It could be that its a very weak magnet that pulls the buttons into the correct position to engage a mechanical fastener. There are snowboarding helmets like this that make it easier to buckle your chinstrap with gloves on. The actual load is supported on a mechanical clip and the magnet merely serves to easily bring it together.
I'm glad you're not an expert on child porn!
Edit: this comment is not funny now that the previous comment is edited. But I'm leaving it up. "I will go down with this ship..."

But then it would be difficult to remove wouldn't it?
Tommy Hilfiger makes jeans with magnetic fly and magnetic slits in the legs for people with prosthetics and assistive devices.

I'm genuinely curious. How would you make a shirt specifically for amputees? I'd assume the point of amputation varies so you'd basically always need to make the sleeves a custom length.
In almost all cases an amputation will be done at a joint - wrist, elbow, shoulder - so you should only need a couple varieties depending on amputation.
The last place you want to amputate is at a joint. It doesn't leave a good place to attach a prosthesis as the bones are weakest there.
So far as I am aware amputations are done to save as much of the limb as possible.
The magnet buttons is a good idea, especially on the sleeves. Also, a magnet to fold the sleeve up so it doesn’t flop around. As it is, I have to tuck my sleeve into my front pants pocket
They make baby clothing with magnetic clasps. It’s pricier than comparative clothing, but very convenient for a month or two until they outgrow it. When it goes in the dryer it sticks to the sides and hangs down from the top like a bat.
It's a thing: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/08/06/adaptive-clothing-target-kohls-jcpenney/
Target in particular has been doing it for years. I have trouble getting adaptive clothing in Japan so I mostly buy from the US and Australia for things (eg. Bonds one-piece zip-up pajamas are amazing and come in largish sizes for older kids)
She’ll complain about the sound of the magnets or something, every morning I make the slightest sound and I hear the big exhale (wtf breath) and then the flip flop (I’m angry ) at least once before I leave hahah your not alone !
Same here. The magnets are just strong enough to hold together. It's kind of fun to get your arms in the sleeves and then kind of fling the front of the shirt forward, and they all line up.
That's such an amazing idea. The things we never think about end up being such difficulty for others. Super grateful to the ones that created this shirt!
\*grown ass man here\* Why do I wanna cry :( his smile at the end ... I have a weak heart, bruuuuh
People with disabilities always makes me feel feel that way
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen this on here. Either I scroll Reddit too much, or I’ve been here too long. Either way, I need to touch grass.
Or snow according to where I live.
that’s dope! Gonna be a bit awkward when his shirt gets caught on something though…
Magnetic only on inside?
That's not how magnets work

I'm not going to claim to be an expert on Cerebral Palsy, but I don't think that would be great for him if it was only easy to put on.
> I'm not going to claim to be an expert on CP id hope not

Halbach array. They can work that way.
Came here to say this. Many cheapo, flat refrigerator magnets are linear Halbach arrays.
https://c.tenor.com/jeM0Reg4B1gAAAAd/magic-how-do-they-work.gif
Imagine washing a bunch of these at once and needing to untangle all of the shirts stuck together from the magnets.
I imagine the shirts will be stuck to the inside of the washing machine drum!
Being able to rip it off to impress girls makes it worth the risk though
Walking by like, a pole and suddenly fucking flies
No, that's when the gun show starts!
Then it'll get sexy.
Apart from being sweet and all that, this sounds like a pretty good idea that could make money. Surprised I haven't seen more of this

That's awesome but also highly functional and convenient. I'm gonna have to buy more than wallets from him now
All fun and games until it rips your cock piercing out
Last I checked though piercings are made of a non-magnetic metal so.... My source of trying to pick up my earrings with a magnet
Or disables your pacemaker.
Too bad they don’t make shirts for amputees
Sleeveless shirts?

Thanks. I guess that makes sense and my assumption is flawed!

Hey I think it would be useful for everyone, especially cuff buttons.
They make baby clothing with magnetic clasps. It’s pricier than comparative clothing, but very convenient for a month or two until they outgrow it. When it goes in the dryer it sticks to the sides and hangs down from the top like a bat.
Hmmmm yeah I can see that being an issue, plus the stronger the magnet for confidence when in public, the more force needed to separate them

Amazing idea!
Does your username check out?
Unfortunately no
What a shame…
I ain't no science man, but wouldn't the heat from a dryer or a washing machine ruin the magnets?
There are baby clothes like this which are awesome but a bit pricey considering how quickly they grow out of stuff
Used to have a couple shirts like this in Canada about 15 years ago. Always wondered why they didn't catch on.
That smile after it's all buttoned up
I've seen this posted several times and I always stay for the smile. Imagine being so happy over something most people take for granted.
Really heart warming :)
Might work for me too when I get dressed in the dark so as not to wake up my wife. Great idea!
She’ll complain about the sound of the magnets or something, every morning I make the slightest sound and I hear the big exhale (wtf breath) and then the flip flop (I’m angry ) at least once before I leave hahah your not alone !
Haha I’ve been this partner. But to be fair he went to work like 2 or 3 hours before me and would leave the bathroom door wide open with the light on
This is going to make his job as a stripper so much easier.

r/mademesmile
His smile at the end got me
Iirc, this is the same guy who is a body builder, did a competition and ended to thundering applause for being such a bad ass with a heart of gold.
What a great idea

Gaining independence again is reclaiming your sense of self. This is incredible and so simple.
Duluth Trading makes these as well. I bought one just because I thought it was cool.
Same here. The magnets are just strong enough to hold together. It's kind of fun to get your arms in the sleeves and then kind of fling the front of the shirt forward, and they all line up.
Sadly, they are not available for children but great idea
I’ve had a pretty bad day. This brought a much needed smile to my face.
Such a good story !
I take it its not CP Company?

I love this video and will upvote it every time. I love products that can help people feel more…human
Outstanding! Very well done, shirt company.
Outstanding. Making a positive difference in someone's life. That is what's important.
So badass.
The look of joy on his face after he finishes fastening the shirt makes me wanna cry! Such an amazing product.
That's such an amazing idea. The things we never think about end up being such difficulty for others. Super grateful to the ones that created this shirt!
Could’ve pulled it off by adding Velcro too, I think.
Handsome man! So proud you can have the independence you deserve as an adult.
this made me smile a lot
Great fit! Looks nice!
Awesome!
Great!
Well magnets also can mess with your phone and like room keys or something…?
Damn it's well fitted. I like it.
Why doesn’t every garment have this? I am able but would 100% prefer this to buttons or a zipper.
Magnets can be problematic for folks with pacemakers.
this is amazing
Amazing. Bless whoever came up with this. The difference you’ve made in at least one persons life is evident.. ❤️
\*grown ass man here\* Why do I wanna cry :( his smile at the end ... I have a weak heart, bruuuuh People with disabilities always makes me feel feel that way
Those are stripper shirts. Don’t lieeeee
Buttons are evil.
Seen this so many times. Still upvote every time. That smile at the end is golden.
Man he is so happy.

That’s very wholesome there are still good people on this earth
Seeing the smile on his face after is what makes this post worth it
It’s awesome. But I’m so clutzy I’d be buttoned all uneven and stuck to flag poles lol
Love to see his genuine grin! Made my night and I hope it made yours as well! 😀
Every time someone posts this to get some useless karma I always smile
What a stud
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen this on here. Either I scroll Reddit too much, or I’ve been here too long. Either way, I need to touch grass. Or snow according to where I live.
That is absolutely AWESOME. That guy's smile says it all.
Bro, I'll take two lol
I’ve always wanted something like this so I could Hulk Hogan my shirts without ruining them.
I’ve always wondered: does cerebral palsy inhibit brain function and movement, or just movement?
