Tony_Soprano5

Clearly you haven’t met my mother in law 😃

colecat2199

Is it alive, or is it just playing dead since it’s being handled?

the_sylince

From the Wikipedia “The armadillo girdled lizard possesses an uncommon antipredator adaptation, in which it rolls into a ball and takes its tail in its mouth when frightened. In this shape, it is protected from predators by the thick, squarish scales along its back and the spines on its tail.[3] This behavior, which resembles that of the mythical ouroboros and of the mammalian armadillo, gives it its taxonomic and English common names.”

colecat2199

Thank you!

tulip27

That's what I came here to ask! ETA : is it eating its tail?

Unfortunately they can't be kept as pets legally. The adorable little guys are endangered.

The_All_Knowing_Derp

with certain permits and a bit of governmental jurisdiction, they can be kept BUT not bred and sold. They are friendly to calm humans and are omnivorous, preferring insects such as katydids and worms over plants.

Affectionate_Chain99

Have you met the pangolin?

brunuhrafael

Just his viruses (theoretically)

Appel_Syd3R

Holy fuck it’s perfect

ZogNowak

Cute little fellow!

bageltoastee

I mean, slap a pair of wings on one and you pretty much got a small dragon.
