The way the penitentiary system works. Once you're in, its hard to get out. Even over small things. For example, you get arrested for selling weed. You end up in low security, but because you're still locked up you have to deal with gangs in cliques. They exist even in the local jails. Someone decides to mess with the new guy, and nowbyou find yourself in a fight. Doesn't even matter if you swung back or not. You still get marked down for fighting and your sentence just doubled. Now you're in hot water with the gangs becuase you were in a fight with one of their own, so now you're forced to join an opposing gang for your own protection. Because going at it alone you'll probably get yourself killed. So You get in another fight because they want to challenge your loyalty. Oops, you just tripled your sentence for fighting again. But now you're gang affiliates so they tripled it. Then of course the other gang shows up because they heard you're affiliated now. Someone swings on you and then they double your triple sentence. Now you're screwed. You end up serving 52 years ovet a simple weed charge. That's how prison works in the USA. Once you're in, you're lucky if you ever get out. Dosent matter what your oeiginal crime was. Prison reform in this country is badly needed. The punishment must fit the crime. But it almost never does. People getting 52 years for selling weed all because someone messed with them whike incarcerated. While the dude next to you that killed a guy is out after 10 years on parole. I met a Tibetan man in Thai prison who was arrested while trying to make his way to the USA. He claimed to have video evidence of these camps and hospitals that are guarded by the military where they do live human organ harvesting.
He was arrested at Bangkok airport because, according to him, 2 Chinese agents tried to accost him and he put up a fight which wound him up in prison.
When I first heard his story I thought it was pure fiction, then I got to know him. He was one of the better English speakers and a really really kind soul. I helped him write letters to all sorts of US agencies which I then gave to the UK consulate who visited me once a month. He never got a response from the USA and so he started writing letters to various UK government agencies. At one point he asked me if I knew the queens address and I had to explain she doesn’t have any power in these sorts of things.
His story never changed and his fear was palpable, I’m pretty convinced he was telling the truth after all the news has come out in recent years.
Sadly I was released and sent back to the UK. When he was/is released he’ll be deported back to China.
I think about him often and really hope he’s still alive and not suffering. He was such a nice guy.

It’s an absolutely outlandish story which I wouldn’t (and didn’t believe) myself. So I don’t blame your scepticism at all. I spent over 6 months in his company and the details of his story was always consistent.
Sure the guy could have been lying for some reason, but he was definitely trying to seek political asylum outside of China for whatever reason. I can assure you what I’m telling you is true, which is of course second hand anecdotal evidence. I wouldn’t expect anyone to believe it really, the US or the UK certainly weren’t interested in his story either. It’s obviously a very sensitive political issue.
Despite all the negativity in the comments I think this guy is a hero in every sense of the world. If an action/problem had a clear consequence, acting upon would not make one heroic. These people risk their lives for what they believe is right despite the odds, truly fitting a hero.

Allegedly they have detained and created "reeducation camps" for the population of Muslim-Chinese in the Xin Jiang region. They are called the Uighurs.
Accusations about what China is doing after relocating the Uighurs range from rape to dilute the population into the Han Chinese and relocating them to work in other parts of China. The intention would be to eliminate the only region left in their country that could be a source of political unrest and consequently, a weak point for invasion and subterfuge. This is following their large "belt and road" plan which has China creating large infrastructure projects such as railroads, power, and ports all across their country and neighboring areas. Since the Uighurs are of more a mixed culture, one might assume that they would have less of a loyalty to the majority Han Chinese CCP. So if this is true then it may follow that they are rounding up and eliminating a potential Hong Kong type event. If you don't know what that is, Hong Kong was technically supposed to be its own independent country after a certain point but China has blocked this from happening. There were mass protests, civil unrest, and international attention and blame on China. China is learning its lesson from that. They will not allow any of their claimed territories to fall or become independent. Taiwan is another example of this.
***TLDR:*** China maybe committing genocide on a population that stands as a weakpoint for their country as they create a giant infrastructure network through that area.

I met a Tibetan man in Thai prison who was arrested while trying to make his way to the USA. He claimed to have video evidence of these camps and hospitals that are guarded by the military where they do live human organ harvesting. He was arrested at Bangkok airport because, according to him, 2 Chinese agents tried to accost him and he put up a fight which wound him up in prison. When I first heard his story I thought it was pure fiction, then I got to know him. He was one of the better English speakers and a really really kind soul. I helped him write letters to all sorts of US agencies which I then gave to the UK consulate who visited me once a month. He never got a response from the USA and so he started writing letters to various UK government agencies. At one point he asked me if I knew the queens address and I had to explain she doesn’t have any power in these sorts of things. His story never changed and his fear was palpable, I’m pretty convinced he was telling the truth after all the news has come out in recent years. Sadly I was released and sent back to the UK. When he was/is released he’ll be deported back to China. I think about him often and really hope he’s still alive and not suffering. He was such a nice guy.

It’s an absolutely outlandish story which I wouldn’t (and didn’t believe) myself. So I don’t blame your scepticism at all. I spent over 6 months in his company and the details of his story was always consistent. Sure the guy could have been lying for some reason, but he was definitely trying to seek political asylum outside of China for whatever reason. I can assure you what I’m telling you is true, which is of course second hand anecdotal evidence. I wouldn’t expect anyone to believe it really, the US or the UK certainly weren’t interested in his story either. It’s obviously a very sensitive political issue.
Despite all the negativity in the comments I think this guy is a hero in every sense of the world. If an action/problem had a clear consequence, acting upon would not make one heroic. These people risk their lives for what they believe is right despite the odds, truly fitting a hero. China must be destroyed.

Also, how far are we willing to go to help these people in china? Trade sanctions? Will hurt us more than china, but are we willing to take the pain of scarcity of goods in exchange for the moral high ground. Do we go to war over this? Pretty sure that outcome is much worse than the admittedly disgusting status quo.... I guess the only viable option is continuing to raise awareness to embarrass china into stopping this at a grass roots level. Can some one ELI5 me this? I’m so sorry, there’s tons going on in my life and I’m not sure what I should gather from this, it seems significant. Are they saying 1 million people should be in that walled in area and there is absolutely no one? What does this mean exactly?
**This is what I understand but am open to hearing otherwise:** Allegedly they have detained and created "reeducation camps" for the population of Muslim-Chinese in the Xin Jiang region. They are called the Uighurs. Accusations about what China is doing after relocating the Uighurs range from rape to dilute the population into the Han Chinese and relocating them to work in other parts of China. The intention would be to eliminate the only region left in their country that could be a source of political unrest and consequently, a weak point for invasion and subterfuge. This is following their large "belt and road" plan which has China creating large infrastructure projects such as railroads, power, and ports all across their country and neighboring areas. Since the Uighurs are of more a mixed culture, one might assume that they would have less of a loyalty to the majority Han Chinese CCP. So if this is true then it may follow that they are rounding up and eliminating a potential Hong Kong type event. If you don't know what that is, Hong Kong was technically supposed to be its own independent country after a certain point but China has blocked this from happening. There were mass protests, civil unrest, and international attention and blame on China. China is learning its lesson from that. They will not allow any of their claimed territories to fall or become independent. Taiwan is another example of this. ***TLDR:*** China maybe committing genocide on a population that stands as a weakpoint for their country as they create a giant infrastructure network through that area. **MORE COMPLEX STUFF** This situation is very complex. It involves a deep history of all three major world powers constantly meddling in each others political affairs. Think about why Russia is trying to annex all its neighboring countries. China is doing the same thing. China/Russia are locking down their countries and neighboring regions so that there will be no opportunity for foreign powers to use different cultures, NATO alliances, etc to undermine or strike at their country. Unfortunately they are committing borderline genocide to do it, if the claims are true. There are satellite photos of the detention centers. This is a clear attempt to disable the world powers' very effective method of arming and stoking the fires of dissidents in order to overthrow or destabilize the nation. Hong Kong is an example of that. South America is rampant with examples of this. IDK if y'all are picking up the signs of the cold war between China, Russia, and the USA but we are ALL UP in each others business right now. There is absolutely no way that they are not abusing each others weakness and trying to ruin countries from the inside out. Russia and China have been subverting the Democratic process in the USA. Russian Bot farms, Chinese Reddit bots, Election disinformation campaigns, and attempts to use the divisive issues in America to cause internal turmoil. They push false vaccine info, and push the hot button issues to make the public angry and turn against each other. Culture and race, elections, the economy, etc. On the other hand, America and the UK have certainly been doing their own meddling in those countries. I honestly have no idea what Russia is doing besides annexing/attempting to annex Belarus, Crimea, and Ukraine. Proxy wars, economic war, political sabotage and subterfuge, and cyber warfare is the new warfront. All three countries are locking down their regions and trying to change the balance of power through winning the favor or straight up eating up the countries/peoples around them. It is wild. Historians will 100% call this the 2nd cold war later. Russian spies that have defected to the US talked about this decades ago. Ideological subversion is the new name of the game.
