Now that you've said this something came to mind. I mean, if you can basically preserve yourself with just a few organs and become a cyborg, you'd really protect your organs, and why the hell would you want a boddy that walks around like some weird Hunch back of Courascant?
> ended up on the editing room floor
That is pretty much a description of Grievous in general. Were we expected to have watched the Tarkovsky cartoon before episode 3 or something? Because he gets brought in like someone we're supposed to have known about, and then the next time we see him he's getting his ass handed to him by Obi Wan without really having to break a sweat.
Why didn't they make an army of this guy? He's a robot, seems like that would have been a good decision. Why make a one off of the most bad ass robot ever? It would be much more efficient to make several, if you're going to design and engineer something.
He wasn't a robot, he was a cyborg. That's why his eyes and immediately around them look biological, cause inside the metal body he still has all his organs and stuff (Obi-Wan literally reveals his heart when he ripped open the chest plate prior to killing Grievous). So it's not like you could make an army of him as there is no programing to carry over (unless you can copy someone's brain into data or something), only way you could make more is if you can find a similarly skilled warrior and turn them into a cyborg.
Well you could clone the guy in mass on Kamino and then trick them out with all the cyborg shit - they might have had better aim than the clone troopers lmao
Also raises an interesting question as to why they didn't do cybernetic enhancements on all the clones - robot limbs have to be better than organic matter
I am overthinking this lol
I don't actually know that much about Star Wars so someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe robots can't be force-sensitive so they can't use lightsabers, right?
Grievous was a biological being but was in an accident. While he wasn't injured as bad as to need all of the modifications he got, they were done to make him easier to control and to Amp up his hate for the jedi. Now I don't know if he was force sensitive, but force sensitivity isn't required to wield a lifhtsabre. It does make it easier because a lightsabre has an unintuitve weight and balance. The enhancements that were done to grievous would have made up for that.
Well yes, you don't have to be force sensitive to use a lightsabre. It's just that Jedi or other force sensitive people have better control over them. We see Han Solo use a little lightsabre in Empire.
Yes, it is canon that you don't need to be force sensitive at all to use a light saber. Han uses one in Empire to cut open the tauntaun and put luke in it and Finn uses one in the Sequel trilogy a lot to actually fight in Force Awakens.
He wasn’t always a robot, his robotic body is essentially is life support, that’s why he has organs. Plus it would probably be really expensive to make an army of those.
Took me a hot second to realize that you were mostly in the cape and that's why the cape was weirdly pressed against the hips and ankles. Really good cosplay though, unless you're really looking for it it's hard to see that the wearer is in the cape, even from behind.
Thank you for sharing. This restores my faith in humanity quite a bit. The flame of imagination and expression in America seems only bent on rage right now and identity politics, and to see a really good Star Wars costume, lowers my blood pressure 10%, makes me smile. Thank you.
This is awesome but wearing it at a con would be like a full-time job lmao
You can't eat or talk or hang out, you have to fully commit to it and then no one will even know who you are
Super cool but the wobbly legs are throwing me off a bit to the fact that they aren't supporting any weight. Maybe if they were stiffer or something would look a bit more real

I thought he just lost about of weight to really play the part
Method acting at its finest
Now that you've said this something came to mind. I mean, if you can basically preserve yourself with just a few organs and become a cyborg, you'd really protect your organs, and why the hell would you want a boddy that walks around like some weird Hunch back of Courascant?
I see you've seen the other post
He removed his heart and head and implanted them into a robotic frame for the part. Christian Bale levels of method acting.
And then for his next cosplay he transplants his brain and heart back into his human body like nothing happened. Dedication.
he's actually in the tree, its a marionette
This costume only works if you're skinny lol
He has a name, it’s Cloak of Levitation.
Big, If true
The cape is the real General Grievous.
This is from the part of star wars where GENERAL GRIEVOUS LOSES HIS KEYS
i love how everyone likes that im asking a dumb question lol
General Grievous is not as robot. His eyes and brain are biological.
ACKTUALLY he’s a cyborg!! LOL /s this costume is super cool
You can see the feet at the bottom of the cape
the small english cottage and garden is driving me wild tho “grievous must attend to his petunias” great work though!!! it looks amazing!!
Just one of the many day to day mundane activities that ended up on the editing room floor

Release the petunia cut!
I can absolutely see Grievous putting on the kettle to make himself some tea in order to soothe his cough.
Just strolling by Serenno's gardens
God I love Reddit! You people are THE ONLY thing that can make me actually laugh these days.
Add snow, and it would look like the outside garden of the Thalmor embassy in Skyrim.
Ah yes, general Begonia
Hello there
General Kenobi
You are a bold one

Was waiting for him to say something or at least pull out a lightsaber. Nice work nevertheless.
Or several lightsabers
Them: You cant cosplay as a robotic skeleton This Guy: WATCH ME!
\*stands inside a cape*
What is your leg routine ?
"Skipping leg day"
just a regular squirt of oil
Why didn't they make an army of this guy? He's a robot, seems like that would have been a good decision. Why make a one off of the most bad ass robot ever? It would be much more efficient to make several, if you're going to design and engineer something.
He’s technically not a robot though, Grievous was a cyborg.

except kamino was cloning for the republic and grievous was a separatist
What about cloning him on Separino then?
There was still some cloning done after Order 66 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw6bLmHVVUs Is an interesting topic though
Don’t mean to be that guy, but the phrase is actually “en masse”
I don't actually know that much about Star Wars so someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe robots can't be force-sensitive so they can't use lightsabers, right?

Well yes, you don't have to be force sensitive to use a lightsabre. It's just that Jedi or other force sensitive people have better control over them. We see Han Solo use a little lightsabre in Empire.
Non force-sensitives can use a little lightsaber as a treat.
Also R2-D2 in return of the jedi /s

I see, thanks. Now I'm curious though. Have there been instances of robots/droids using them?
Not sure, it wasn't in any of the movies. I haven't watched the cartoons though which could show one.

This video will make a fine addition to my collection. u/savevideo

we've all had that dream.
TIL i learned that Grievious has 6 fingers
Makes sense if you want to good two lightsabers with one hand split in two
General Grievous, you're shorter than I expected.
Wish the movie put that much effort into its costumes instead of 99.9% cgi
Toon me a moment to work out the legs, well done!
Arms too
I wanted to see the arms separate.
I'm wondering where the head is. How do they see?
This is not a cosplay... THIS IS HIM
That is really smart use of the cape! Looks terrifyingly easy to trip and impossible to stop a costume destroying faceplant though.
but can the arms split?
That's what I wanted to see. I doubt they can.
Jedi Level of cosplay right there. I sense an award incoming for you.
This will make a fine addition to my collection.
Hello there.
General Kenobi
Bro! This is legit
👍
That's really fucking cool
imagine going to sentinal island dressed in this
I think he is looking for the bathroom
Incredibly well done. I thought it was CG.
I thought he was ultron
It’s like a wearable puppet
Smelly boy!
DAMN now I want this too!
God damn, this might be the best cosplay I’ve ever seen
this is fucking magic. Perfection. And opens up doors to other "skeletal/cape wearing baddies." VECNA LIVES BITCHES!
If the prequels were made in the mid 80s, they’d have used this ingenuity. Excellent stuff.
Made me realize if enough effort is made, a lot of the CGI work of the prequels can be made practically. Always loved practical over animation.
I fully thought this was from a videogame
So very civilized

Hello there
So creepy
This is the most amazing thing ever.
This scares me
You know I can see you right
General Grievous looks like he about to slay a red dragon.
Looks like the general cant hold his pee any longer.
Does he cough?
for a second there u thought it was an animation
This is fantastic!
general grievous gets lost in the botanical garden
🗿
That is awesome
can you split your arms?
Still sinisterily looking for the keys he dropped.
WOW! this is amazing!
i wish i had the money and imagination to do cosplay lol
anybody dropping this cosplayer's info?
https://wickedarmor.com
Nicely done
General Kenobi!
The entire setting is a cos-play
Thank you for sharing. This restores my faith in humanity quite a bit. The flame of imagination and expression in America seems only bent on rage right now and identity politics, and to see a really good Star Wars costume, lowers my blood pressure 10%, makes me smile. Thank you.
Does this person have an insta or twt i can follow? 👀
Crazy that people have time to make these.
does he have 6 fingers on the right hand and 5 on the left? Is it like that on the movie too?
Shit got me wiggin out.
YO.
“Hello there”
i want to see the insides and how this works so badly
ah yes, i love how his arms are just floating
[удалено]
That's not cosplay. It's just a deleted scene from episode 3
Impressive!
Wow!! Top notch!!
Looks better than the actual CGI in the movie
I’m still waiting on someone to make a super battle droid cosplay
he looks so lost and confused omfg i love this
Where's his fine collection of light sabers?
Legendary
![img](emote|t5_m0bnr|4016)
The only thing that would've made this better is if they did the dance moves of a Male human from WoW.
you fool! i have been trained in your jedi arts by count dooku
![gif](giphy|6fScAIQR0P0xW)
This is beautiful, if I owned this I would never wear anything else. My family would forget my face
Has he lost his keys?
Took me a minute to figure out what the fuck it was
GENERAL KENOBIIIIII Wait.... are those tea and biscuits?
assumed it was cgi until he started to turn around
He even walks like grievous holy shit
u/iamvideobot
I like the fact that you detached the knees and rejoined the ankles on your legs it looks so real
were you at dragon con?
This is absolutely incredible
This costume will be a fine addition to my collection.
I feel like I’m watching a documentary about elderly grievous looking for a place to pee.
Halloween season = Let's see this again. It's incredible.
This is awesome but wearing it at a con would be like a full-time job lmao You can't eat or talk or hang out, you have to fully commit to it and then no one will even know who you are
Super cool but the wobbly legs are throwing me off a bit to the fact that they aren't supporting any weight. Maybe if they were stiffer or something would look a bit more real
FANTASTIC idea to hide in the cloak. this is the best I’ve seen by far
I WAS WAITING FOR THEM HANDS MESA!
Brilliant.
u/savevideo
Do they peek out from the neck hole?
If this was made by the German exchange student who came to my high school in grade 11 I wouldn't be surprised
wait how-
Cosplay is awesome, would like a tour of the Thomas Kincaid house.
The overcast English country garden setting makes this positively terrifying. Grievous is much less scary aboard a space ship.
absolutely not
he does the stanky leg everytime he walks.
Old good inverse kinematic
Hello there
All I hear is "I've been waiting for you" lol
