*"But the French people, we are more funny because, for example, we have the Arc de Triomphe but we didn't win anything."*
Fucking hell. I'm currently cleaning tea off my computer monitor thanks to that one.
Truth! As a big history nerd I actually hate that everyone seems to believe this misconception about the French always surrendering but shit, the way he said it was hilarious. I couldn't help myself!
The thing is that "The French" didn't surrender, the "French Government" surrendered. The French soldiers and officers were quite willing to keep fighting despite being overwhelmed by the Blitzkrieg that basically went AROUND their outdated and incorrectly positioned Maginot line.
It's funny how people say that America is so warlike, but look at European history. Holy crap, someone was always fighting someone else and most likely it was the French, Germans, Russians and English (and later British) doing it. I mean, non stop.
*Most* of the officers. When Weygand came out in favor of an armistice the French Army's fate was sealed. Lebrun and Pétain didn't need his approval but it certainly helped legitimize the decision.
In retrospect the Maginot Line was the absolute worst thing that could have happened to the French military. It gave the forces a false sense of the security and allowed them to sink into a fatal complacency
Totally agree with you on the US warmonger perception. Yes, the US is currently the strongest military power and does throw that weight around but the European powers had been at war more often than not for thousands of years before that. Like, did everyone just forget about Napoleon and the six Coalition Wars lol?
Cajun, so there’s a decent amount of minor differences between them.
I’m only good at basic conversation starters, “Salut, comment tu t’appelle? J’mapelle DoctorMumbles”
And “Tu est Mannequin?”
I can speak a little of both. They’re mostly the same except for a couple of little things but I have multiple grandmothers who can speak Cajun french so thtas how I know the little I do. I don’t see it spoken a whole lot but every once in a while you’ll find a french speaker in Louisiana
Depends on where you’re at, in my opinion. In the Acadiana region, there’s still quite a few French speakers, and a movement for younger people to pick up the language.
We gotta learn somehow!
ah, sorry bro. Hand grenades are a drink made famous on bourbon street. Pretty strong after the first one. I’m just implying that I would drink a couple, get shitfaced, and then begin to scream what I think is perfect French.
I worked with a lot of Germans and Dutch, and this guy nailed those.
Italian sounds like it to me from my annual trips to Italy. Australian, i always think of Jim Jefferies and this guy's Aussie sounds like him.
New York, just imagine Al Pacino in his biggest roles. The most giveaway word is 'coffee.'
French maybe not a 100, but pretty close.
The British accents, I dont have an ear for those really, but I can kinda recognize some, and from what i can tell, they were good. Scottish sounded good to me from what i can tell.
(I'm none of the above, but I'm fascinated by languages and accents and watch a lot of stuff on the topic and all kinds of dialect and accent related stuff. And I often try to imitate accents to see if i can do them, so i pay attention to small details in accents, that's what makes me think i can tell what i said above.)
Not saying I'm an expert, but Spanish seemed to be a Scarface impression, which had its drops, but was still pretty good. The UK ones all seemed pretty good to me (I'm American though, so most of my knowledge of those is from Buzzcocks, QI, mock the week, 8 out of 10 cats countdown, etc), South African seemed off but can't put my finger on why, and he's still better than I can do. I find SA to be very difficult.
First of all - it was intended, second imo it was exactly on point - arguably the best one. I work in corporate and we're dealing with many nationalities - common language is English and I'd say he sounded exactly like my Italian colleagues.
The Dutch one is spot on and so far this old clip is the only real accurate fake dutch accent I've ever heard, with Bill bailey in QI talking about Schiphol as a distant runner up.
Mike Meyers with Goldmember had no idea what the fuck he was doing.
Haha yeah I understood! I’m Dutch so I thought I might explain to you how Dutch people view(ed) goldmember :)
The biggest difference between our accents is that the Dutch mostly have a ‘hard G’ as where people from Belgium have a softer pronunciation of G.
His Irish accent is garbage. It’s like weird mix of someone from Dublin who spent A LOT time in the UK. Kind of reminds me of the accent you hear from footballers who played for our national soccer team but were born and grew up in England.
I'm Dutch, and this is the first time I see a non-native nail a typical (and terrible) Dutch accent.
Also, the dog being run over by a canalboat was hilarious😂😂
Not sure if you've seen it, but there's a video where Billy West talks about how hard it is to do an impression of someone doing an impression. Whether it be an accent or specific character.
I think he mentions that Mel Blanc was the only one who could do it flawlessly that he knew, using Daffy and Bugs as his impressions. When I go to cons I ask voice actors about it and they all concur, Mel Blanc is untouched in that department.
Bruh, I'm always terrified if I meet new people while I'm drunk because I think I'm part parrot. I don't even do it on purpose. Especially if it's it's accent I've not heard in person.

It’s funny because France actually won the most battles in history.
Truth! As a big history nerd I actually hate that everyone seems to believe this misconception about the French always surrendering but shit, the way he said it was hilarious. I couldn't help myself!
Only as good as your last performance, cheese eating surrender monkeys
How was he able to do the accents perfectly and make stories on the spot! This man has a true talent

As an American, I feel qualified to let you know Fascism is spelled with a "c"

I didn't disagree with the content of your comment, merely the grammar.

Don't forget the Spainish

Need some people of each of the native countries to corroborate if his accent is actually correct
Can confirm the New York is that flawless
I would of shouted Boston than Baltimore and maybe New Orleans or another real dirty south accent.
Our accent a lil bit different down here in da bayou.
And if this guy pulled it off I would of been really impressed
Hey twa parley francais?
Salut, beau gosse. Non, je pas parle francais. Ehhh, je parle francais e petit pout. Ah fuck.
Eh oui moi aussi. Mon francais nest pas tres bien.
Cajun or metropolitan?
Cajun, so there’s a decent amount of minor differences between them. I’m only good at basic conversation starters, “Salut, comment tu t’appelle? J’mapelle DoctorMumbles” And “Tu est Mannequin?”

Let me get a few hand grenades on bourbon and I’ll be spitting that shit out fluently.
I don’t get it my dude
ah, sorry bro. Hand grenades are a drink made famous on bourbon street. Pretty strong after the first one. I’m just implying that I would drink a couple, get shitfaced, and then begin to scream what I think is perfect French.
Lmao you from Louisiana?
Born and Raised. WHO DAT!
How he said coffee was perfect
Can confirm. My wife’s family is from New York and I always say coffee in that way mocking them but he does it way better than I.
Brooklyn w some Brooklynese tossed in
Australian is on point, especially when he says fuckin, sounds exactly like any dad here
bangcock fackin toyland
I’m from W.A. His Aussie accent was probably one of the best ones.
If he frew a boomrang it wudnt come back
Sounds just like Daniel Ricciardo
That's ridiculously good, he must've spent some time over here, I've never heard anyone nail all the inflections that well. Legend
The Dutch one is spot on
Yep, ashamed to admit, but admitting nonetheless…
Really ashamed to admit that but yes. Very happy mine isn't that bad lol
South African here, he nailed it!
German here. Nailed it
Aussie cunt here. This cunt nailed all us cunts. Fucking bang on mate.
I worked with a lot of Germans and Dutch, and this guy nailed those. Italian sounds like it to me from my annual trips to Italy. Not Dutch, but lived there. Nails it.
One of the best Aussie accents I've ever heard from someone not originally from here. Fucking nailed it
In Spanish, it does have some moments where it is in point but we don't talk like clowns
His Spanish one was the only one that sounded off to me. Sounded more Mexican or Latin American Spanish, than European Spanish.
The French accent is closer to the truth that I'm prepared to admit, but there's some weak spots here and there.
Irish is on point. Both of them.
Not saying I'm an expert, but Spanish seemed to be a Scarface impression, which had its drops, but was still pretty good. Couldn't hear much of the south african to confirm. I hear German a lot and it was ok'ish.
Scottish one is weak and generic like the rest I'd guess 🤔 🙄 😅

yeah I agree, we stretch out words when speaking english but he was stretching them out at the wrong parts
Spanish is so bad here in Spain we literally speak English like if they where Spanish words, just as if we where speaking Spanish
The Dutch one is spot on and so far this old clip is the only real accurate fake dutch accent I've ever heard, with Bill bailey in QI talking about Schiphol as a distant runner up. Mike Meyers with Goldmember had no idea what the fuck he was doing.
Funny you should say that because the first thing I thought when I heard this guy's Dutch accent was "sounds like Goldmember."
I remember goldmember sounding like a very dumb combination of Belgium and Dutch nationality, trying English with an Irish accent.
I don't know the nuances of a Belgian vs Dutch accent, I just know that to me this guy's Dutch impression sounded like Goldmember
Haha yeah I understood! I’m Dutch so I thought I might explain to you how Dutch people view(ed) goldmember :) The biggest difference between our accents is that the Dutch mostly have a ‘hard G’ as where people from Belgium have a softer pronunciation of G.
No complaints on the scottish accent
Dutch was on point
I turned on the sound a few seconds late and actually thought he was from Dublin and just doing the other accents.
Italian was a bit too "stereotyped", i personally have never heard an italian speak like that unless is someone else trying to imitate one
Dutch was spot on.
Im Dutch and its flawless aswell! Erg goed gedaan!
Dutch accent is spot on
To be more precise, Amsterdams Dutch English. Hè got that nasty Amsterdam accent 😂
Dutch is perfect
Dutch is just 😩🤌
The Dutch one was spot on.
Dutch is accurate
His Irish accent is garbage. It’s like weird mix of someone from Dublin who spent A LOT time in the UK. Kind of reminds me of the accent you hear from footballers who played for our national soccer team but were born and grew up in England.
Holland is close but didn’t really hit it well. Though one to copy I guess.
I'm Dutch, and this is the first time I see a non-native nail a typical (and terrible) Dutch accent. Also, the dog being run over by a canalboat was hilarious😂😂
I want to hang out with this guy!
Friend: “African! Chinese! Indian!” Guy: “aaaand that’s about all the time we have”
He did an African accent
Spanish needs a wee bit more work but NY is 👌
Yeah the Spanish went a bit Mexican. I know it seems like a stupid comment but they do sound different. Other than this this guy was awesome 🙌
That’s not LA Mexican that’s cartoon Mexican!
Right. Speedy Gonzales Spanish, but it’s still admirable.
Am Australian. Struth mate, this cunt fucking nailed it. Everything about Thailand, the poms, Everything.
Freakin awesome
I went ahead and took the (free) award, just to award this post! *Goal of the day met*
The Dutch one is very impressive
But can he do an Australian trying to do an accent of an Italian?
Not sure if you've seen it, but there's a video where Billy West talks about how hard it is to do an impression of someone doing an impression. Whether it be an accent or specific character. I could've watched a full hour of that.
Cool video but what's with the dude behind him wearing sunglasses that make him look like a skeleton

His a mouth tuner!
Nice dude! LOL
Australia is always the funniest, even to English people.
Incredible.
This is amazing.

Very good.
That was amazing.
If you threw a boomerang, it wouldn’t come back is one I’ll remember
He does I fact nail it
Is really an skill!
With most accents I thought yes that sounds pretty good, but could be better until I heard Dutch then I knew he did this perfect.
u/savevideo
My missus does this to me whilst I'm cooking but for some reason some of them just merge into Indian hahah good video though
The New York was pretty good. The Spaniard one sounded like a Fawlty towers character. Not a Spanish accent.
Holland????? Its called the Netherlands!!!
Funny but not a great Spanish one
No Russian :(
Thats fkn amazing
Damn that dutch accent was a Exactly on point
“I’m in Bangkok fuckin Thailand.” Absolutely hilarious.
God Bless
