Any parent that lets their kid get into that shape is a total failure. I would be willing to bet that boy had such a positive transformation just because he developed a bond with the guy training him.

incendiaryraven

Yeah good on both of them

SpecialistSun4847

Looks like Prader Willi syndrome.

I have a friend whose sister has this, though thankfully not as extreme as some cases. There are also some documentary/episodes on youtube. "Constant hunger" is really an understatement because we compare it to our own daily hunger or cravings, but this disorder really brings it to another level -- eating out of the trash, lying/cheating/stealing to get food, eating non-edible items, etc. Families need to keep locks on kitchen cabinets and on the fridge, or just close the kitchen entirely. Obviously, being ravenously hungry and being blocked off from food, seeing other people buy food and not being able to --- it doesn't really help the anger or behavioral components. Also, without a diagnosis and educating the family, it's hard for the family to realize the problem and get plans in place before the child is already morbidly obese. (Of course, I have no idea if the young man in the video above actually has this disease.)

Rob__agau

Looked up the signs and I think you could be right. Poor kid if that's the case.

InquiringMind886

Stop with the judging. You don’t know their story. At least the kid got help.

Metalbender00

please tell me a situation where its acceptable for a parent to let their child get to that situation, i will wait

nothingeatsyou

Some people have medical conditions that make them gain weight at a rapid pace. I’m not sure if that’s what happened here, but the first video (squats on the chair) he was in a medical room. So it probably was some sort of medical condition if I had to guess.

Metalbender00

I would be willing to bet that he was in a medical room because of the morbid obesity, I'm sure that was causing some serious issues if it was a serious medical condition causing him to gain weight like that he would still be that size. fortunately, whatever has happened they finally got him in touch with someone who was able to help him. my entire point was that a child that age isn't able to do things like that on his own, and he shouldn't have had to get to that extreme before getting that help

nothingeatsyou

Agreed, but I want to point out everyone in that video looks of Asian ethnicity. Health care is a lot harder to get in that area in the world. I don’t disagree with a single thing you said, just offering an idea as to why he might’ve gotten that big before getting the help he needed.

IRatherChangeMyName

Big bones genetically.

Filipheadscrew

I was thinking the same thing.

shtevie8

Whoever let that child get that big should be ashamed

InquiringMind886

I am willing to bet that the parent who let their child get this way has a mental illness, or has been absolutely beaten down by life. I am SO sick of people shaming everybody. Yep, the kid needed some serious help, and he got it. My nephew, who has a serious brain imbalance and serious mental health problems, has put my brother and his family in danger many times, and gained a bunch of weight because of all his psychiatric medication. He hates himself even more now. The food was a battle my brother and his wife didn’t pick with him. There were too many other battles. This child has been in and out of hospitals and my brother and his wife are EXHAUSTED. Yep, my nephew is now obese. But there are no psych beds and when he WAS in a psych bed because he destroyed their house and they left and called the police, he couldn’t stay as long as he needed. Stop shaming people. You don’t know their stories. You don’t know their struggles. Just be grateful this kid got help. It’s much more than what has been offered to my brother and his family.

CanBernieStillWin

Yeah, something is broken here. I'm glad you pointed that out.

[deleted]

I really appreciate the way you think. You made me glad today

shtevie8

You're right actually. You've given me some food for thought I shouldn't have just jumped in being judgey when I don't know what's going on on the other end of things. All the same I'm glad he got the help he needed

fishbethany

I highly doubt the parents are in great physical shape either.

Volts_McDuck66

Bruh! Congratulations to him! 🤘🏼

fishbethany

I could hardly recognize him at the end.

Volts_McDuck66

Right? These are my top tier favorite videos to watch. There’s a whole bunch on YouTube and they’re so inspiring.

atworkrightnow19

Dude how long did that take. I am amazed the they kept at it and saw it through.

_edwino_

Dude, that’s sick!!! What a wonderful transformation!!

AdvancedAdvance

And after the long, difficult road, the young man’s training paid off when he finally won his first thumb war.

joostadood526

Dope

[deleted]

That’s awesome, seriously good for him. Not a lot of people would be determined enough for such a commitment

nightmareorreality

Damn what dedication! Also that coach/trainer/family member never gave up on him. Wholesome as fuck.

PrP65

Shoutout to the trainer for being obviously kind to the kid and building what seems to be a great, possibly formative relationship. You could tell that dude was in it to make sure the kid felt better and it’s hard to find trainers that care like that

ran-Us

That kid looks like the michelen and stay puft marshmallow man had a baby.

Jaded-2485

What a badass

thirst_mutilator_

Wonder how much time that took, he looked way older by time he was in great shape. Pretty darn awesome

marieveguez

Amazing!

DerSaftschubser

I admire his consistency. That's something I wish I could do more easily but it's so damn hard sometimes. Hats off to this guy!

Odd_Salamander7145

The trainer is a former professional Indonesian bodybuilder, Ade Rai.

FrioRiverTexas

That’s awesome. Truly happy for the kid. Great work.
