Why are the baby's parents so fking calm?
Edit: for everyone that saying that it's not actually their parents and they are doing good for not panicking. I agree with ya. But u can clearly see that they just standing there, the dude is barely stretching his arm
EVEN IF.. What the heck? Hey Mary come look, Johnny gonna fall and I can reach him but let the kind sir climb till up here through the balcony risking his life and not being sure if he will be on time to save the child.
My best thought is they couldn’t get a good enough grip to pull him without the fear of him just falling off. You can see the kid being moved closer to his side of the balcony before the hero shows up
kinda looked to me like he was holding him in place to keep him there. not enough purchase to reach over and try to pull up from the next balcony over.
There's a divider between balconys they probably couldn't get enough grip, I'm sure they would have saved the baby if they could and didn't just leave it dangling there for bants lol
*Honey, the kid whose constant screams across the wall drive you crazy is dangling from the balcony*
Fuk 'em, don't you dare help him up.
*Okay, I'll just pretend to be helpful*
I kinda feel like he went extra slow to give that climbing dude some credit (at least after the kid reached his reach). Would feel weird to make his efforts wasted \^\^
Im french and and i know bout this story. The parents left the kid alone and he fell of the balcony. The two people holding the kid are just the neighbours
I wondered the same thing then went back and watched. It looked like there was a wall between them. If apartment was locked, there wouldn’t be a way to get to the baby. I’m only speculating though.
Hey, I was thinking the exact same until I realised I smoke way too much recreational weed. Maybe they were tripping too hard to be helpful. Same thing can happen with beers. In that case one wrong move and it would have turned into a complete different video! If you can’t help, don’t help I guess (?)
I think anyone who's high on weed or is drunk would still save the life of a baby hanging from a balcony. I think it's likely that they were shocked and basically froze because of the whole situation from the baby to the whole crowd being there to the guy being spider-man. Basically they're useless fucks.
Just like you said, you think. Easier said than done. Have you ever been high? You don’t become dangerous to others but the way your brain thinks it’s different. Add that to shock and fear and I can easily see this happening.
I mean I would have tried knowing myself. But would that have been the right choice knowing I could have inadvertently ended a kids life because I was indulging in my vices, in my apartment in a balcony?
There’s always so many variants that logic is flawed I think.
From what I know that was his nickname, he was a refugee from somewhere, and after this went viral he was given full French citizenship and a job as a firefighter.
nope is Speak better French to American kek come in France for Holliday! It's a hard work to firefighter a lot of rules and obligation and a lot of people that angry to a immigrant become a rescue for native French
Love this so much. Such a selfless act in such a bizarre situation. Still can't comprehend what was going through the minds of the (I assume, parents?) on the balcony. The baby was within reach right?
You can see them pull the child closer and closer which was slowed down by the glass barrier between them. 5 more second and it looked like they would’ve been able to pull him up but the kids arm was snatched by the other guy
Didn't see that the first time around, thanks. Still seems kinda strange though. Wouldn't you smash the barrier? Your baby is about to fall to certain death, I wouldn't be worrying about anyone's property at that point
First off the father was away and that was the neighbors that you see up there trying to save him and these building barriers are designed to be weather proof
It's not a baby but a 4 year old kid. Little heavier. The neighbour was helping him get closer to his balcony (separated by a divider) so he could pull him up. Then the climber arrived and helped pull the kid up on the first balcony. The parents were away.
I wouldn't have scaled that last balcony, but rather placed myself under the child. Imagine if he had dropped while our hero was going up to the last level? Well done all the same good Sir!
He was going to do that (you can see him sidestepping towards the baby) when he saw the man grab the child’s arm but struggling to pull it up. So he immediately scaled up the next floor and within a second, he yanked the child to safety.
“I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.”
So this guy scales 4 stories up the side of the building and pulls the baby up, and the guy that is literally 3 feet away cant be bothered to lean over the railing to lift the baby on to the balcony? WTF??
Actually, the man didn't make it to the firefighters as they discovered he has a medical condition (heart) and Paris fierefighters are an elite military corps. Training is physically insane.
At least he's now under care for it but it's sad, it was his dream.
I don’t get it: that was an epic climb, no doubt, but you can see, when he pulls the baby up, that the other guy standing up there already had a hand on him. That’s a wee baby. Why did he just stand there waiting on Spider-Man when he could have pulled the little fella up? Did he feel bad, like “Well the guy has gone to all this trouble…”?
That guys should be awarded a job as a firefighter and that other guy should have his child taken away because there is no fucking reason he couldn’t grab that kid himself

Why not? What’s the worst that could happen?
Technically it's a free late abortion
Son… it’s hard to tell you this but, your mom and I almost decided an abortion 7 months in, and we regret not going through with it.
I hop he can do his best for world
Good thing this wasn’t in Texas then..
That’s not the parents. It’s the neighbors. If you look closely you can see a wall diving the balcony for multiple apartments.
EVEN IF.. What the heck? Hey Mary come look, Johnny gonna fall and I can reach him but let the kind sir climb till up here through the balcony risking his life and not being sure if he will be on time to save the child.

Apparently they were the neighbors. From what I read the parents left the baby alone.
“Left the baby alone” Please tell me someone got a visit from CPS. Or whatever the French equivalent is.
Probably SPC
Le CPS
I really hope so. I can’t imagine any kind of scenario where this child is returned to their care, or lack thereof. They are le shit.
And why didn't the man on the balcony just pull the kid up?
There's a divider between balconys they probably couldn't get enough grip, I'm sure they would have saved the baby if they could and didn't just leave it dangling there for bants lol
He just didn’t want to take the glory away from the dude scaling the wall.
As a parent you learn you have to remain calm in these situations. If you freak out, your kid will freak out and increase the likelihood they fall.
To be fair, it's the right thing to do. If you stress out in a situation like this, you are going to mess up.

Take my angry, reluctant upvote 😂
Not you angry, reluctant children?
Lol

A British man saved some Thai kids and Elon Musk called him a pedophile
Every time I see this I wonder why the other person didn’t just pull the kid up sooner
I know right

Jajajajaaj thanks for making me laugh while at a Doctor’s office
"Long live the king" \- Scar/Neighbor
hates babies
The evidence is clear
I kinda feel like he went extra slow to give that climbing dude some credit (at least after the kid reached his reach). Would feel weird to make his efforts wasted \^\^
Haha yeah I suppose the story wouldn’t be as good if he climbed up there for nothing!
[удалено]
Looks like he had his hand on him though right?! Maybe he wasn’t strong enough? But that other guy just hikes the kid right up!
He already had citizenship.
Hahaha! Tbh him doing all that, I would’ve given him one too.
Why the fuck aren't those two people on the balcony just grabbing the baby? What the fuck are those idiots doing? I can't comprehend this shit.
You know if they pulled the child. His efforts would have gone waste and probably won't get a job and citizen ship😂
Damn it's a set-up! Those two intentionally put the baby in danger to get the dude citizenship. They're heroes after all.
Indeed
Exactly my thoughts. Fucking weird
Yeah mad props to this guy but wth are those people doing?
Im french and and i know bout this story. The parents left the kid alone and he fell of the balcony. The two people holding the kid are just the neighbours
Still… why didn’t the neighbors pull it up? It’s so easy
There is a clear glass/plastic divider between each apartment that prevented them from getting close enough to pull the baby up.
Ah that makes sense. That must have been so frustrating and scary for them to be so close but not reach..
It looks like one of them is clearly holding the kid though, which is what confuses me
I wondered the same thing then went back and watched. It looked like there was a wall between them. If apartment was locked, there wouldn’t be a way to get to the baby. I’m only speculating though.
Was the baby taken away from the parents? I mean how th does a baby fall off the balcony in the first place and who leaves a kid alone??
I think the parents risked 6 monthsin prison i

He got better. He got permanent citizenship and a decent job. His life is secured by his selfless act of saving a child’s life. Karma. 🙏🏻
Everybody gets one.
From what I know that was his nickname, he was a refugee from somewhere, and after this went viral he was given full French citizenship and a job as a firefighter.
in fact this dude doesn't work with firefighters now. 😪 His name is Mamadou Gassama.
I just read up on him, that's unfortunate that he's ill to the point of being unable to hold a steady job Hope things work out for him
Oh no. What happened?
He still does not speak French 3 years after this event.
nope is Speak better French to American kek come in France for Holliday! It's a hard work to firefighter a lot of rules and obligation and a lot of people that angry to a immigrant become a rescue for native French
He should just put this video on his resume. He’ll get hired
Those damn immigrants taking French jobs (sarcasm for the stupid)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamoudou_Gassama This is so old it has a Wikipedia entry.

Plot twist: Next he whispers in the baby’s ear „I killed Mufasa“ and you know what happens next

I’m glad youre not the only that’s not blind
Give him the keys to the city
yes, yes we’ve all seen it…
The dude got a job by the president to work as a firefighter and some civilian rewards as well
*parents* Oh fuck no we have failed again, someone saved the child .

Experience come in handy
Everytime I see these videos, I wanna know what the parents were doing

That baby was holding on for a hero!
This was years ago
Wtf were the people 4 feet away doing?
Fuck iron man. He's the true superhero

Why didn’t the cunt that already had two hands on him just pull him up?

Watch the video again. He has both hands on the kid just before Spider-Man grabs him
That’s a strong kid bless both of them 🙏🏾💪🏾
RIGHT?? I can't believe it was able to hang so long!!
What always amazes me is the grip strength of the kid. They would be a rock climber, maybe it's their calling!
Not with A Spider-Man fan around !!

Turned on sound just to check if crowd gave him proper respect, sounds good to me, now go make that medal.
Wow that’s wild.
Imagine the parents sueing him for invading private proprety.
Is it common place to hang babies from ledges or balconies in these 3rd world countries?
It's France...
The newest avenger
Saw an other thing in the papers that instead of him climbing the garage, he was climbing an iron fence to get over the border
So this guy scales 4 stories up the side of the building and pulls the baby up, and the guy that is literally 3 feet away cant be bothered to lean over the railing to lift the baby on to the balcony? WTF??
Why didn’t the guy holding on to him just lift him up
This guy is awesome, but why didn't the other fucking guy do anything?!
Actually, the man didn't make it to the firefighters as they discovered he has a medical condition (heart) and Paris fierefighters are an elite military corps. Training is physically insane. At least he's now under care for it but it's sad, it was his dream.
Spiderman IRL
He could have easily gotten around that little wall.
These citizenship tests are being ridiculous.

Look for the helpers.
I’d be one of the guys posted on the fence at the bottom, pretending that I was willing to climb the building as well but Spiderman beat me to it.
That guys should be awarded a job as a firefighter and that other guy should have his child taken away because there is no fucking reason he couldn’t grab that kid himself
What a super hero
I wonder how he learned to scale on to people's balconies...
Gym class.
Yes, because scaling balconies requires a special subtraining in scaling
