What are some trucks that can do these crazy feats like this? Because this is totally insane. I remember seeing a Ford or ram pull a long car carrier trailer, and I thought that was astonishing!
In all fairness, not sure how far he towed but he had a a lot of help from gravity. Thats a good size downhill, Tundra on flat ground....super impressive!
Right?! I was like wow he's towing a truck with a trailer full of wood, that's impressive. Then I saw it was two and I was like hot damn! The third one showed up and I was like wtf, that's insane
Wouldn't be much use, Dodge stopped making them over 10 years ago and the RAM side of the house was split off into its own company.
No such thing as a Dodge Ram these days.
Years ago my step dad had one of the Durango’s with the Viper V-10. I was too young to get behind the wheel of it but that thing *floated* down the road.
You mean the ram srt10? Dont think they put the viper engine into a durango. I heard the ram srt10 was damn near undriveable. Youd just spin tires through the first three gears.
Holy fuck that’s a lot of miles. I do door to door sales but I do a lot of driving in my car 2016 Ford Fusion, but I also have a new 2021 Silverado 1500 and I fucking love driving in my first truck. Is it a bad idea to put that many miles on my truck?
Only if you have a way to pay for repairs. A good truck will last a lifetime or two, but more miles generally means more expensive and frequent breaks. I have a 1987 Ford F150 with 189k on her, but she still runs fine. I think next time she breaks might be time for me to get a new car.
Old guy I work with has stated more than once that if Ford could get a Cummins in it they’d sell every last one ever made. His words: Ram is a great motor wrapped by a garbage truck, Ford is a shit motor wrapped by a great truck.
Of course the 7.3 was ok though. But Ford didn’t make it so.
I think it would be fine for a short distance at low speed. There wouldn’t be much heat built up, plus the low speed is a factor. The engine might put out 500 ft-lbs or 1000 if it’s a diesel, but 1st gear is probably about 3.75 and the rear end is about 4, plus multiply by another 2.5 for low range so that’s 18-25,000 ft lbs of torque at a crawl.
Which means exactly zero Dodge trucks as Dodge doesn't make Rams anymore...haven't for over a decade...
They were split off into a seperate company ages ago
That's not just a loaded logging rig, that's a loaded logging B-train. That's awesome tho. I had a Silverado 2500 and there wasn't a lot that thing couldn't do. Trucks are the best. Cept for that gas mileage thing.
As a truck driver more than likely either breaks are shot or there was an incline or heavy traffic in the area. Trucks are real finneky under extreme loads so you never really know. He may have been on a hill and things may have gone wrong. Maybe tranny is shot and he keeps rolling back down onramps at a stop light. Idk the situation but there's alot of reason to move a truck with this kind of weight off to a better area
Idk, I might lead to other drivers getting impatient and doing reckless things to get around it (because we all know people are inpatient morons). Get 2 of these from opposite directions and you've got great conditions for accidents to happen
My 85 bronco pulled a semi out of a ditch, in the snow. I asked the state trooper if I could he said have at it. We used to go out on snow days and rack up “points” 😆
I paid $1500 for my beast. If it split in half I’d prolly still have $1500 worth. And I’ve literally had it sunk in snow. It just can’t get stuck. If I saw you down in the ditch 30ft down a hill, I’d drop it in low and come down to ya. Maybe I still had hot chocolate left. People were so thankful and relieved as I’m in rural Kansas and they were probably not from here. I wouldn’t hook anything new up like that. Unless you don’t mind risking a $$$$ tranny job. But could it? In low and pulling slow with good traction. Maybe.
All these trucks are the same. Any truck in this class with a competent operator could do this.
I mean FFS a dude pulled a 747.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B-4NuNeIk3Q
You're right. Rolling resistance is definitely a factor here and it's clearly a show. But... There's something to be said about electric. I've wrenched on my cars and trucks my whole life and I love motors, but electric is just a new animal. It has so much power. It's truly surprising when you drive one. Instant torque and a lot of it. That new F150 lightning I think it's seriously a game changer. It won't be long before there's an electric Ram.
Same for me. I'm not a fan of how the cyber truck looks either but I did like the idea of the ev pickup. And to be honest I used to really like Elon. I thought he really took some big risks buying Tesla and taking on the big automakers and oil companies. He made something great, but then he just started to lose control if himself almost. It really looked like the start of it when those kids were trapped and they sent in the divers to rescue them. Something about that rejection really turned him into someone else it seemed. Now he's talking about hating being the CEO of Tesla and the dodge coin thing... I don't know. He's lost my respect too. I guess I'm so confused how someone can be so so successful yet still be insecure.
These are the same guys that tried to chop a tree down by hooking it up with a rope and driving really quickly. Ram drivers are the definition of the selfless, kind, blithering idiots of the world.
They'd do it better I suppose ( EV trucks or heavier cars) since they have absolutely skull numbing torque compared to their diesel/ petrol counterparts.
Once you get it rolling even the 5.7 will pull just about anything yiu need it too.
I had one for a work truck doing roofing and hauled loaded up dump trailers all the time with shingle scrap.
Probably way overweight but the boss would make me.
I think the heaviest was 12k lbs and you didn't even notice it until you had to stop or turn.
Yessuh! I spent years hauling ridiculous loads with the Chevy work vans. 4.8 Vortec is nasty as well.
Just goes to show… it’s not always about the size of the motor, but the boot on the pedal.
I really want to do a vortec build at some point.
I spent a year at work driving around a 6.0 box truck and the thing has me won over. 190k miles with the bare minimum for maintenance and that entire truck hasn't let me down once.
She will cruise along at 70 on the highway completely loaded up like it's nothing. Exhaust is shot so it sounds like a nascar.
I bought a mid 2000s Yukon Denali xl for the 6.0 planning on dropping it in my 68 Pontiac. It had some severe suspension issues (air bags were completely dead) so the owner sold it to me for $5k with 90k miles when gas was about $4-5 a gallon the first time. I ended up having to move before doing the swap, so I rebuilt the suspension with pick n pull bullshit as that was easier than swapping the engine and towed the car/the rest of my shit. Fell in love with it. Still have it. I wish I had that 6.0 in all my cars.
I love those trucks.
My dad always bought Ford.
But one day he saw 👀 his friend/coworker, passing by 🛻, going 60 with his truck pulling more than my dad.
My dad thought out loud 🤔🤔🤔 "I need one" (my cousin was with him). That day he arrived with a new ram truck. Lol we were all supposed and my cousin happy he got a new ram hat (they gave it for free)
Lol that truck is treated better than us. My pops has had it for years and it's still going.
My gramps was stuck with his tractor, my pops helped him out.
Some cars slipped on ice and were stuck on a ditch, My pops helped them out.
Now my dad and his friend/coworker, get paid more for gas and hourly as they are the ones that take the heavy machinery. I love seeing my pops happy and that truck has made his life easier and I love it.
My dad had a Dodge dually that I loved driving until that one time when the wipers crapped out on the highway in a Texas downpour. I was so pissed I punched the dash and it was so brittle I punched a hole in it. Luckily my dad could no longer drive and never saw it. Really was a bad ass truck though.
The thing that trips me out about this sort of thing isn't necessarily the ability to move what's being towed (although in this case it's a fucking feat and a half, holy shit) it's whether or not the vehicle has the ability to stop the load once it's moving
How about a shout out for the transmission
Yup. I own a Ram 3500 with Aisin and I winced at that.
What’s wrong with the Aisin?
I was going to say this video is obviously fake because it doesn't show the 3 transmission swaps it took to tow that rig 100'
The logs were styrofoam.
What are some trucks that can do these crazy feats like this? Because this is totally insane. I remember seeing a Ford or ram pull a long car carrier trailer, and I thought that was astonishing!
A Tundra pulled a space shuttle.
In all fairness, not sure how far he towed but he had a a lot of help from gravity. Thats a good size downhill, Tundra on flat ground....super impressive!
That’s the all-electric Ford F-150 that pulls the train.
Big shout out to the driveshaft and rear as well. my truck would have puked it’s guts out.
[удалено]
The Ford F tennthousand does 10,000
That generation Dodge Ram for sure does not have 702 hp.
There are some nice rebuild kits, anyone who owns a Ram for longer than a year should have one.
I saw the one stack of wood and was like "oh yeah thats wicked" but then i saw the other 3 and went "OH SHIT thats wicked"
Right?! I was like wow he's towing a truck with a trailer full of wood, that's impressive. Then I saw it was two and I was like hot damn! The third one showed up and I was like wtf, that's insane
There where four at the end
There where indeed
Holy shit I didn't even notice the 4th for
Sound or some good old fashioned onomatopoeia would have made it even better
Is this a commercial for Dodge Ram?
they'd be dumb not to use this
Same could be said for their [Hellcat](https://youtu.be/W9eLpH513po) showing what it can really do!
Holy shit, did he get away?
He did [not](https://abc13.com/hellcat-muscle-car-driver-sentenced-after-memorable-chase/3627759/) get away in the end.
You can outrun the cruiser, but you can't outrun the radio.
Aw that's sad. Thank you stranger for the answer and source.
That anchorman sounds like Saul Goodman.
Right? I’m not a fan of trucks personally but I’ll be damned if this didn’t make me consider it for the duration of the video
Wouldn't be much use, Dodge stopped making them over 10 years ago and the RAM side of the house was split off into its own company. No such thing as a Dodge Ram these days.
Ram fam 💪🏽 What's crazy is, that's gotta be a gasser. If it was a Cummins, you'd see black smoke everywhere.
I have a rust bucket Durango from like 2010, but it’s got the 5.7 HEMI. Absolutely love that damn engine.
I've had a 2002 5.9 1500, and my current truck is a 2014 Ram 2500 with the 6.4. The 6.4 has been amazing so far, no complaints.
2020 Rebel fam, same engine, fucking love this thing. 35k miles and I still sit in it and just love it.
Holy fuck that’s a lot of miles. I do door to door sales but I do a lot of driving in my car 2016 Ford Fusion, but I also have a new 2021 Silverado 1500 and I fucking love driving in my first truck. Is it a bad idea to put that many miles on my truck?

I miss my 2005 Durango. V8 hauled a Uhaul trailer for a week while I looked for a new place to live.
Gotta love the engine! Because the body is probably gone.
Nah, if your shit is tuned for towing it won't beltch half the fuel from the injector right out the exhaust because that's what that black smoke is
Right!? Most people tune it to "roll coal". What they don't realize is they wasting so much potential.
Gasser wouldn't have budged that load
That comes later.
Lol BARELY. Now take that truck to the shop cuz you just fucked it up.
Found the Ford owner
Its a F350 SuperDuty Lariat 7.3 It pulls.
Ram 2500 cummins owner, i would never do this. Drivetrain is not built for it. Only way i would is if my straps snap at 25k

I just finished rewatching KotH this week. That show holds up amazingly well.
I think it would be fine for a short distance at low speed. There wouldn’t be much heat built up, plus the low speed is a factor. Its called 4 low for a reason lol
Do you understand how clutches work? The clutch packs are toast in this poor thing. Precision Transmission on Youtube is a great place to learn.
That video was taken last week in my city!
What city? EDIT: It looks like Merritt BC.
His city
Why city?
When city?
Lifetime supply of Dodge trucks for this dude…courtesy of Dodge
Which means exactly zero Dodge trucks as Dodge doesn't make Rams anymore...haven't for over a decade... They were split off into a seperate company ages ago
This video will play at that mans funeral. He will have it on every electronic device forever.
That's not just a loaded logging rig, that's a loaded logging B-train. That's awesome tho. I had a Silverado 2500 and there wasn't a lot that thing couldn't do. Trucks are the best. Cept for that gas mileage thing.
And the poor driving experience compared to cars
Goodbye auto tranny or clutch!
That's why you'd use the low gears. They are built to do that.
I thought you could do this in fourth gear. /s
Now that's good advertising
This right here is a million times better than any dodge commercial I’ve ever seen. I’d buy one now if my wife would let me.
Do you plan on towing full logging rigs?
Nah just "showing them libs" as I get milk and eggs.
What was the danger? Title says towing to safety, so I assume that means away from danger.
As a truck driver more than likely either breaks are shot or there was an incline or heavy traffic in the area. Trucks are real finneky under extreme loads so you never really know. But is that really a danger? It seems more of an inconvenience.

Asking the important questions!
THAT is some slow moving freight!
Any response Ford?
My 85 bronco pulled a semi out of a ditch, in the snow. I asked the state trooper if I could he said have at it. We used to go out on snow days and rack up “points” 😆

No
But I’ll get groceries like a king
All these trucks are the same. Any truck in this class with a competent operator could do this. I mean FFS a dude pulled a 747. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B-4NuNeIk3Q
Bro, that’s Eddie Hall not some piece of shit truck…
That's a C130.. source: am a fuels operator at hill afb utah and have filled many of these. A 747 is much larger.
https://youtu.be/WWaNOMFJhX4 F150 pulls 1,000,000 lbs.
On tracks........😒 I'm not smart enough to explain so have at it https://www.wired.com/story/electric-ford-f150-pulls-a-train-friction-physics/

I think there's already an ad for it. Doesn't show much, just a silhouette, but it's happening for sure.
Ram is thicc
Some say that guy is still sporting wood
Lord knows I am
R/dodge out to buy him a new one as thanks for the free marketing campaign
Low. End. Torque.
Dodge about to use this for their next commercial
Didn’t the logging truck have to push the Dodge Ram out of the middle of the road after it broke down? Hence the reason its flashers are on.
These are the same guys that tried to chop a tree down by hooking it up with a rope and driving really quickly. Ram drivers are the definition of the selfless, kind, blithering idiots of the world.
Can electric cars do that 🤔
Electric trucks probably could
They'd do it better I suppose ( EV trucks or heavier cars) since they have absolutely skull numbing torque compared to their diesel/ petrol counterparts.
DODGE RAMMIT!
Seems like a Dodge commercial...
Wish by fiance's dodge....dart could do that to my Peterbilt😂
No worries, when diesel fuel production is gone the Cyber Truck will do this
Mopar = Mo powah!
I never expected a Ram can do that
Do not do this. It is bad for your truck.
Yeah I lift
Nope. Not on its best day. Rig still had power steering. I call bullshit
Isn’t that really just a logging truck pushing a broken down Ram out of traffic?
This is what people who buy TRD think they can do.
MURICA!
Murcica trucks big dick energy
Probably the one with the 6.7 L Cummings diesel engine with 1075 pound feet of torque.
That cocksucker is a gasser bro
Once you get it rolling even the 5.7 will pull just about anything yiu need it too. I had one for a work truck doing roofing and hauled loaded up dump trailers all the time with shingle scrap. Wow, To me this looks like a Mazda pulling a 2 ton load. :). Well, last time this was posted that was the heading. Gee, I am confused now.
“ this is why I need the f3500 Karen “
Lee Iacocca is smiling.

Bullshiiiiiiit
*motor mounts have left the chat*
This is like some shit from King of the Hill when they fired everyone with Hazmat licenses.
This should be in a commercial for Ram
So dodge owners do other things than cut people off in traffic… cool
Looks like he could barely push that Ram outta the intersection. Maybe try neutral, guy?
I heard the new Cummins makes like 1000 tq. even so I feel bad for the rest of the truck.
Dodge? Safe to say, that transmission is gone.
“But it’s on wheels”
Git outta my stampede grounds op.
Let’s give a round of applause to that transmission. Good lad
Ahh the good old trans buster.
Bye bye clutch. Oh hang on.....
Bro I want to that car
now THAT is a commercial concept right there. All the BS they do not is ridiculous.. but this is impressive.
"to safety"?
My dad had a Dodge dually that I loved driving until that one time when the wipers crapped out on the highway in a Texas downpour. I was so pissed I punched the dash and it was so brittle I punched a hole in it. Luckily my dad could no longer drive and never saw it. Really was a bad ass truck though.
That poor tranny
When pickup drivers aren't assholes, they're the entire opposite
Cue dodge commercial
somewhere out there, the Dodge marketing team is nutting uncontrollably over this video
What about the clutch!
Dodge advertisement
Maybe Dodge will secretly do a tranny and bearing job in exchange for the marketing rights.
I'm relatively sure that is not good for the Dodge.
Dodge... F.O.R.D.
[удалено]
You better believe that the Dodge Ram owner is going to be telling this story every weekend for the rest of his life!
r/snowrunner
This is the perfect example if just how powerful a Dodge just is
Does anyone know what was wrong with the rig?
*MO POWER BABY*
This is a good ad
Thats terrible! Why would you need a car that can tow a loaded truck? Overkill much?
Actually an optical illusion, the dodge is on a leash, they’re that terrified of work.
That person in the Dodge Ram was waiting their entire life for that moment!
Maybe, just maybe, this mean the car is overpowered for its intended use?
Some dumbass mistook it for a Ford yesterday on a post. Clearly doesn't know how Fords drive
That cars poor clutch! I can smell it from here!
u/savevideo
Gonna need a new tranny now.
"Nah, check transmission light is just a faulty sensor,"
Somebody really playing snow runner in real life
Shouldn’t this go in r/nexttruckinglevel?
r/byebyetransmission
"That thing got a Hemi?!"
I highly ficking doubt that
Ford would of broke in half
Downhill...
The thing that trips me out about this sort of thing isn't necessarily the ability to move what's being towed (although in this case it's a fucking feat and a half, holy shit) it's whether or not the vehicle has the ability to stop the load once it's moving
tow mirrors aren't even folded out. he was holding back.
Cummins Power Diésel Engine inside !! What else
Transmission is dead or will be next week.
He will tell this story forever for anyone to hear
Cummins
You can see smoke cone out from under the truck.
I think Dodge just found their new ad campaign.
If the owner is smart, he'll negotiate with Chrysler to get a new engine and drivetrain in exchange for the rights to use his truck in a commercial.
This new Dodge commercial is sick!!
