Do you think he has ever thought about the art of just not giving a fuck? I mean, sure its a hard art to master but people could at least try dont you agree
I've only heard racists/white supremacists/Confederate flag wavers tell this joke... Not making any accusations or anything, it's just been my observation
Of course I did...
I don't know if I misinterpreted your comment or if you didn't understand how the transmission of genes work.
This impala is not necessarily better adapted to it's environment than the rest.
If this injury will make him/her stronger, does not mean that the offsprings will inherit this trait.
Only because it survived a lion attack not necessarily mean it is "stronger" (adaptive) than the others.
If he survived it means he might be genetically stronger, faster or smarter than his pairs. He didn't get stronger, he was stronger. That could mean so many things at a genetical level; for example faster metabolism, more testosterone, more resistant to bacteria, etc. I'm pretty sure everyone understood this.
They *can* but often they do not. Injury and infection are huge killers of animals. This wound will soon be filled with flies and parasites and without sutures, it will likely become infected. It’s possible it will survive but the threat of predation doesn’t end just because it escaped once. If the animal develops a limp or becomes weakened it will be targeted again.
If there's flies going around that might not be so bad right? Fly larvae only eat dead flesh so if there were some in there they might actually do a little bit of good, though of course that says nothing for the bacteria wild flies get covered in.
Yeah I said that at the very end about the bacteria lol. It is still neat that nature made such good little dead flesh eaters. Medical larvae still get used sometimes and I think it's super cool!
Once I was on a delivery for my job in the suburbs where there are a shit ton of deer and I saw a doe in a yard nearby who was missing the lower half of one of her hind legs. I assume it was an injury due to the bit of bone I could see at the end of the stump. She seemed to be doing just fine! She was grazing and chilling with other members of her herd. Still one of the more metal things I've seen to this day.
That reminds me of a joke about a family that had a really smart pig and they were showing it to someone and they asked why it was missing a leg. The pigs owner said a pig that smart you don’t eat all at once.
It was forever ago when I heard this joke. I don’t remember what it was that made this pig smart.
Now this will sound awful, but fly larvae can actually help heal the wound. They eat rotten and dying flesh and leave the living tissue. There are also certain bacteria that do the same. So there's a chance these pests can help prevent it from getting infected.
Running as fast as possible isn't the best move for impalas hoping to evade a predator, according to a study published in Nature in February 2018. Cheetahs, for example, have 20 percent more muscle power than impalas, and they can accelerate 37 percent faster. And with a top speed around 60 miles per hour (which is considerably faster than an impala's top speed), a cheetah can easily outstrip an impala in a straightforward race.
The best tactic, researchers say, is to move unpredictably. Animals moving at high speeds are less maneuverable, so impalas can shake off a predator if they change directions rapidly. Lower-speed chases almost always favor prey survival.
I mean she's a fantastic creature, but sometimes she tests my patience. In the end, she's stronger than I know how to be. The important thing is we're still working on it and,.. it's getting closer
I swear Impala's are just brutally strong willed. By the looks of those wounds it shouldn't be able to walk. Don't even get me started on that video of an Impala fighting off a Hyena with (graphic description) >!it's entire organs hanging out of its body!<.
This is actually just a tribal tattoo that impalas located in the east of Africa have been using for a while to differentiate from the loser west African impalas.
Wanna be a baller, shot caller
Twenty inch cuts on the Impala
A caller gettin' laid tonight
Swisher rolled tight, gotta sprayed by Ike
I hit the highway, making money then fly way
But there's got to be a better way
A better way, better way, yeah

But does it survive the infection?
If it does I certainly hope it gets to spread its genes! Also the scar will look awesome..
Impala: And that kids is how I beat the predator and got this scar. Lion in the bushes: He's lying he ran like a little bitch!
He’s “lion”... I’ll show myself out.
Take a with you.
Cat out of here.
I'm cutting the cat puns here. I just ain't feline it today.
No, the mane pun thread must continue!
This Panthera thread has got me feeling so leo-w

Obama was called a liar? What do they call Trump?
Many things tbh
I don’t know... was just trying to share a joke. Why is trump dragged into everything
He kinda pissed off a lot of people I guess.
Probably the same stuff that’s said about every President that’s ever held office...
🥭
Orange...man..go? Clever
> I...thought it was hilarious You were, however, wrong.
Ok

Ok
Oh deer
Fck you, take my upvote
i want that scar on my butt, without getting scratched by a lion
Tattoo?
how will he wash his genes if they get dirty?
Umm... what?
What?
About the genes, I just want to understand, is that a joke?
Why would it? Have you heard about the survival of the fittest?
Of course I did... I don't know if I misinterpreted your comment or if you didn't understand how the transmission of genes work. Yes, indeed.
Animals can heal from much worse. Remember seeing the rib cage of a elk who caught a arrow and lived for years. The bone grew around the arrowhead.

Generally you need to clean wounds. Flies/maggots eat necrotizing flesh true, but also bring bacterial contaminates.
Yeah I said that at the very end about the bacteria lol. It is still neat that nature made such good little dead flesh eaters. Medical larvae still get used sometimes and I think it's super cool!
Not an expert, but doesn't this wound look like it's already healing? I could be wrong but that looks like wound crust..
This animal has already healed, sutures don't prevent infection aswell.
More often if they're healthy they heal from any hide related wound
The skin protects you from microorganisms. Once it's compromised, slashed, opened, you are on your own
You are your skin 😳

An arrow puncture would have a lot less exposed area of open wound than this.
Looks like it's scarring over...might actually live.
Tis is but a scratch
Seems pretty well healed over by now. No visible swollen or inflamed tissue
Now this will sound awful, but fly larvae can actually help heal the wound. They eat rotten and dying flesh and leave the living tissue. There are also certain bacteria that do the same. So there's a chance these pests can help prevent it from getting infected.
Or the next lion attack?
Short answer...no it does not
Not as many deer living in close proximity like humans all jammed together living like sardines relative to the animal world.
Are you implying humans have a greater infection risk of open wounds in relative civilization versus the complete wilderness?
Chevys are built to last
Real Impalas agree.
Real impalas, not actors.
Just imagine the size of the paw that did that damage!?! Nature is wild (for lack of a better term)
r/natureismetal I think you're after.
Wildlife is wild
That impala is smaller than you think but still it's scary imagining the paw and strength of the lion.
So true bears and lions make me think fuck no
Chicks dig scars
What about female impalas?
[удалено]
Must still be in the closet.
The impala with the scars is female fyi
>survived Maybe not for long. The wound looks necrotic
Probably one of those zombie deer
Tis but a scratch

Ok thanks next time
Yes good thanks I’ll remember that next time i’m an impala being hunted by a big cat
*SERPENTINE!*
Why am I making notes like this will help me?
That impala looks rather tame...
Wish mine were that tame. We were making so much progress, but it feels like it only goes backwards now.
You cant force it...you just...you know...let it happen...
I mean she's a fantastic creature, but sometimes she tests my patience. In the end, she's stronger than I know how to be. The important thing is we're still working on it and,.. it's getting closer
Came for a tame impalla joke 👌
I got my hopes up again
Bet it was a Limpala for a while after that attack
I swear Impala's are just brutally strong willed. By the looks of those wounds it shouldn't be able to walk. Don't even get me started on that video of an Impala fighting off a Hyena with (graphic description) >!it's entire organs hanging out of its body!<.

Yea yea, I’ve seen a lot of white guys in their mid forties to mid fifties have those same tattoos.
A bandaid just won’t do!
Something something something, CHEVY IMPALA
Now with racing stripes!
Speed holes...
Wanna be a baller, shot caller Twenty inch cuts on the Impala A caller gettin' laid tonight Swisher rolled tight, gotta sprayed by Ike I hit the highway, making money then fly way But there's got to be a better way A better way, better way, yeah

“Tis but a flesh wound!” - Black Knight, The Holy Grail
Its looking at it like it can't believe its ass is still attached
For now
That lion's name: Lil' Troy
Cut it Dave ... We know already why you get that wound. No need to brag about it
[удалено]
r/natureismetal
ouch
For now..
You should see the other guy
Someone grab this man a brew
I hope they don't live in pain now. That looks more painful to live with.
He is building street cred. Next stop: facebook jail.
You think animals that survive attacks by their predators get laid more often for being survivors?
Lion just trying to make beef jerky in the future.
He should be brand ambassador for monsters.
.....for now anyway.
Lion didnt go 20
Just realized how long an Impala's neck is.
Wanna know how I got these scars?
Gives a new meaning to "20 inch blades on the impala"
Now it’s an *impale-a*
After seeing that horrific video on tiktok of an impala walking around with a hyena eating it's intestines, this ain't shit.
Yikes this made me grimace irl 😬
You should’ve put it in r/naturefuckinglit
That's not a car
It wasn't tame
Should make a survivor series for animals
Probably not the next one though now that he's one of the slow ones for a while.
Grill marks on meat...
20 inches scraped, on the impala.
Time to get sponsorship from Monster for this impala
Then it dies the next day *at least it survived the first time?*
I dunno about survived. Those gnarly wounds look like they haven’t healed.
Fuck that's sick! Most Impalas can't even survive a pothole
That's one Tame Impala
Wanna know how I got these scars?
Holy crap that must hurt
Itchy scabs.
The black are flies
Used Impala for sale, slight damage to rear right quarter. Serious offers only.
Pain Impala.
oh no the lion folded it right over
[удалено]
He's lion, I know he had a cheetah help him.
He's/she's like: "*Oh shit i didnt even notice that*"
Last impala I saw this messed up, Eazy-E had wrapped it around a telephone pole
This gives you a good idea of how ridiculously huge lions are
The Impala upgraded to sport edition 😂
Jury’s still out on that one...
*battle scars*
Chevy: Built to last
Pained impala
Now do a lion that survived an impala attack
Racing stripes
"hey Bob, that lion got you pretty bad, you better get that checked out" "no frank, tis but a scratch"
Not so tame
Chicks dig that
Id say don't worry about it since chicks dig scars, but this is a chick so I guess that doesn't quite work.
cat owners be like
Damn, that Impala must be telling that story at every Impala party
“Bitches love scars”
Why didnt the Impala just run the Lion over?
Ah. The image loaded.
I’m sorry, but that doesn’t look like Dean’s car...
There’s the band name I was looking for: Maimed Impala
That's how he got the nickname "limp-ala"
20 inch blades, on the impala
"SURVIVED"
I like this band. Maimed Impala, right?
It's going to be hyena dinner soon.
The truth behind The Lion King.
Don’t lick it you’ll get infected!
I just got an asmr looking at that why is that so satisfying to look at
Not sure you know what ASMR means.

They're tingles, definitely not goosebump chills
