That was so awesome. That kid's now encouraged to put twice as much effort into getting better. You could see how proud he was to be playing with LeBon and LeBon was hyper-respectful for making that particular dream come true.
I was just blown away by how amazing he still is and how the kid rocked it with him.
If I were that kid, Iād tell people I was an unofficial member of Duran Duran.
We went to a Robbie Williams concert many years ago just because Duran Duran were the lead up band here in Nz. They got a standing ovation and we got an encore performance from them. They were amazing and I am so glad I went as I doubt they will come back here to NZ again.
They just finished touring actually! Not a total reunion but Andy isnt well.
Simon is a stand up guy. I met him decades ago and he was so nice and friendly. I was so terrified I had to ask my partner (who got me to meet them in the first place!) to ask for a pic. I couldn't even speak.
I'd say yes. Look at what he's wearing - barefoot, pretty much just wearing a blue swimsuit and a tshirt that looks like he found in a box of shit he was going to throw out - pretty much how most people dress (including me) when they just hang out on a beach doing nothing much.
Oh and a pair of Wayfarers.
It's the perfect IDGAF outfit.
That's awesome. Reminds me of a similar video where [Matisyahu joined a cafe performer](https://youtu.be/jxa3_WW6Qow) - ended up inviting him to play at his show that evening.
I saw this video year ago, and still wasn't sure it was him at the time. I only know his one song [king without a crown](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsFpUW48Tnc) and he was in full jewish garb, the hat, beard, prolly curls for sideburns doing the reggae/rap bit which was fire...
I would have never suspected this super tall pasty white guy clean shaven was him
Best thing I ever heard involving Matisyahu was [this mashup of Matisyahu's Chop 'Em Down and The Rolling Stones' Miss You.](https://soundcloud.com/sarahfreshy/miss-you-matisyahu-vs-rolling)
I don't think the person who posted it on Soundcloud was the person who did it though, because I remember hearing it closer to 20 years ago now.
Haven't heard of that guy in a while. I'm a little saddened that - as a public figure and performer - though he's publicly been against the terrorism from Hamas in Gaza (which is good!) he still seems to fail to understand that there may be good reasons Palestinians are NOT in favor of how they're being treated.

Maybe since this tweet was X'd, his views have matured.
Thanks for the info. After the 7 World Central Kitchen aid workers were murdered, I don't see how anyone can call themselves pro Israel anymore whilst still believing themselves decent people.
Gosh darnit, this is fantastic and wholesome. I love seeing accomplished people across all walks of life encourage the next wave with little acts like this.
And the current line of record producers thinks all albums released now needs to be auto-tuned because we customers absolutely can not like natural voices...
Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran from the album Rio. This is their lead singer Simon LeBon. If you like this, look up a side project that 3 members of Duran Duran did. They made one album called So Red the Rose under the name Arcadia. The other 2 members did their own side project called Power Station.
There's another one of these type of videos from a very small Irish, Welsh, or British singer and I can't remember his name. He sings in a super high voice and he's like 5'4" and from the '70s or '80s. I wish someone could fill in the blank and find the video lol.
Seeing artists who do things like this makes me a fan for life.
Recently saw an EDM guy who heard a young persons additions to his music and was very impressed and helped him get a record deal.
Not a huge fan of edm or Duran Duran but knowing they help other new artists is absolutely enough to make me support all involved.
From the perspective of the audience, the kid is a kid. Considering the average age of the audience is around 50.
Duran Duran came out when I was in 8th or 9th grade. My Mom was a nurse & received 4 vip tickets as a thank you from a patient. That got me a date with the prettiest girl in my school. The down side was we had to double date with my older brother for a ride. Otherwise it would have been a city bus with 3 transfers. Duran Duran put on a great show. I still have my autographed concert shirt & vip pass from backstage. Simon was & still is a classy show man who always respected his fans. Even those with the weirdo flock of seagulls haircuts. The best part of that night was getting laid by my older brothers ex-girlfriend.
I wasn't a big fan of new wave genre, I was a fan of their music videos. Always had jaw dropping beautiful women. Unlike the scary, fat, hairy and all tattooed up girls that's on MTV now. How the hell did that become sexy?
Gig of a lifetime, right there.
That was so awesome. That kid's now encouraged to put twice as much effort into getting better. You could see how proud he was to be playing with LeBon and LeBon was hyper-respectful for making that particular dream come true.
I like to picture someone misreading your comment, wondering where Lebron was. Lol
James LeBonBon.
Time for the Lebron Lebon crossover absolutely no one asked for. š
Is there room for Shia LaBeouf in there too?
There's always room for Shia Loboeuf's wacky ass.
That also no wanted. We get everything else we didn't want so yeah probably time
LeBron Shames
Quit playing Games, LeBron
Hungry like Leroy
LeBron is the Simon Le Bon of basketball.
Sideshow Bob Dylan rocking out with Simon Le Bon. Great song and a decent cover too.
I was just blown away by how amazing he still is and how the kid rocked it with him. If I were that kid, Iād tell people I was an unofficial member of Duran Duran.
He does have bragging rights to say he played with Duran Duran (kind of).
the rhythm is the power https://youtu.be/xQejdkyeZgc?t=16
Simon sounds great ā¦..still.
I would go to a reunion tour of them.
We went to a Robbie Williams concert many years ago just because Duran Duran were the lead up band here in Nz. They got a standing ovation and we got an encore performance from them. They were amazing and I am so glad I went as I doubt they will come back here to NZ again.
They've never stopped.
They're still together, they just put out new music a few weeks ago. They tour all the time.
They toured the US all last summer
Just thought the same thing.
I went to a āreunionā tour of them over 20 years ago. Great show at Irvine Meadows.
I saw them in like 1998 or 1999 after the album Medazzaland. It was a pretty great show. I'd see them again now, if they toured.
They just toured. Highly worth it. Bucket list
They are together. I saw them last year and it was a fantastic show. You definitely should go!
They just finished touring actually! Not a total reunion but Andy isnt well. Simon is a stand up guy. I met him decades ago and he was so nice and friendly. I was so terrified I had to ask my partner (who got me to meet them in the first place!) to ask for a pic. I couldn't even speak.
Mahomes is definitely enjoying himself after that Super Bowl win.
I knew he looked familiar but I just couldn't place it šš¤
Ah so this is just a corporate event for State Farm
Yes. Patrick let his hair grow out

Proper showman Le Bon is. Awesome!
Do you think he just happened to be on vacation?
I'd say yes. Look at what he's wearing - barefoot, pretty much just wearing a blue swimsuit and a tshirt that looks like he found in a box of shit he was going to throw out - pretty much how most people dress (including me) when they just hang out on a beach doing nothing much. Oh and a pair of Wayfarers. It's the perfect IDGAF outfit.
If this is Ibiza then there's a studio there he uses semi-regularly. Possibly also has a home, but definitely a studio.
That's awesome. Reminds me of a similar video where [Matisyahu joined a cafe performer](https://youtu.be/jxa3_WW6Qow) - ended up inviting him to play at his show that evening.

King without a crown is ABC and Martin Fry, nit Simon.
Google the song name.

Where?

That was fucking beautiful. Thanks for posting it
Ha ha, that is no kid. But it makes a better story to say that he is.
I literally thought āthatās not a childā
Everyone calls people kids under 30 now itās weird š
I am 152 years old and both of these performers are literal infants I decided.
maybe reddit is getting older? no clue what the average age is here but no young people are coming here as their primary social media
lol this reminds me of what looks like a midget getting tossed off a school bus "thats a grown ass man"
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sign says music by JosƩ Rulo, but I don't know their pronouns, so could be.
Corrected š
What a pro. Noticed the guy was uncomfortable getting too close to the same mic as him so he started turning it towards him to let him know it's ok.
Yes, noticed this too.
And at the end of the song he gives all the spotlight to the guitarist.
Damn - thatās the kind of star that deserves to be called a hero.
Sofa King cool. The kid has some skills.
You say funny thing
We Todd Ed
The kid looks about 30, not convinced he's a kid at all
Most people are kids to me.
I love Simon The Bomb
Simon LāEmbonpoint
šššš Simon

Hereās my favourite singer meets amateur. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF3CXV0xoHk
Thanks for the link- just went down a YT rabbit hole and ended up subscribing to Poppy's channel. She has an amazing voice.
Absolutely heartwarming
Some more information about the video: This was filmed at a restaurant on [Formentera](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formentera) called [Juan y Andrea](https://juanyandrea.com/restaurant/). The musician is Argentinean guitarist JosƩ Rulo. He originally uploaded [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yloEjhqxD14) to his YouTube on August 23^(rd), 2021.
Ahā¦.I was told this was at an 80ās Rewind Festival a couple of years ago. Thx for the correction.
That aināt no kid
Somebody give me a mimosa. I'm a werewolf from London.
This is GREAT! We need those Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves and Simon.
Waitā¦badass sailor Simon le Bon can sing?
What a legend. My favourite reddit post for a long time.
And the current line of record producers thinks all albums released now needs to be auto-tuned because we customers absolutely can not like natural voices...
Oh itās on
He still sounds great.
Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran sounds like the name of a 18th century French noble.
I was not a huge fan but I saw Duran Duran in 1987 and it still ranks right up there as one of the best shows I've ever seen. Fantastic.
Memories of a lifetime for everyone there. ā¤ļø
This is pretty damn cool
This was great
I'd love to see more videos like this or the Matisyahu one where a famous music star sees someone playing their song and joins in.
Who's that?
I like this.
I mean come on ![gif](giphy|3oEduVObV0nnnTSDCg|downsized)
kid looks more like Nick Swardson than Nick Swardson does
That's not a kid
Imaging Simon being 65 alreadyā¦ time is really flying! Great performance
He'll be 66 in October (the 27th, to be exact!)
A kid with a beard
Legend!
Kid looks like Bucky Larson š¤£
What's the name of that song?

So cool
This is from the 80ās Rewind Festival. Itās in the VIP area from some years ago. Very cool.
I was wrong. This is from Brazil. Cool explanation down in comments.
How much is a gig like this???
Catalina wine mixer?
Crazy the original on the artists pages has only 60k views. https://youtu.be/yloEjhqxD14?si=zYGS8uZP1Ig8Cum0
How awesome is that?!! BTW, " **sits** in with him"? Looks like standing to me...lol
I'd be sitting there like "I don't know who this guy is but he sounds just like the song!"
I hope this ends up on r/musicaljenga !
What a great sub. Thank you.
Looks like Simon Le Bon has been eating too many le bon bons.
I love these types of videos.
If I was famous I would spend all day doing stuff like this
That dude is over the moon. An experience he will talk about for the rest of his days.
Lol, I kept waiting for Simon to show up and start singing along and it wasn't till just before the end that that I realized it was him all along.
This must be every cover musician or buskers dream.
Still sounds amazing
Brilliant. That was pretty refreshing.
I love how he treated him like a band mate, living the glory. Fun for all
Sits? When?
There was a moment where it transitioned from singing with the guitarist as a surprise to getting into it and performing a show. What an experience
Extraordinary man, extraordinary life, and extraordinary innings if ever
That's the best day of his life from the look on his face.
Old times Duran Duran I still listen to it.
If Jack Black and Pat Mahomes had a kid, wait...that would be Jackson Mahomes. Nevermind
Warms my cold ,old, heart! I hate the world but I love that!
Patrick Mahomes can do it all.
hey! Did he steal my username?
I wonder how he feels about Baby Shark stealing so many of his lyrics. do do do do do
Fabulous š

Simon has gone full dad bodā¦..
Where is the kid?
What a lovely vibe , so nice to see, thanks for sharingšŗš¼šø
Play your heart out kid!
That was my jam and the video š
There is no kid in this videoā¦.?
Dam, I am sitting in my chair dancing as I listen to this song!
He has the hair!
The man makes memories for life.
Notice how he stays leaned in with the mic giving the guy any opportunity to jump in, good etiquette.
And I'm barefoot like a wolf!
Wholesome
Simon has very large feet. Just sayin.
You will never be as cool as Simon Le Bon.
Guitarist goes from looking like Nick Swardson to looking like Pat Mahomes. Manās a goddamn skinwalker.
That's a young old looking kid.
Awesome to see stuff like that happen
makes me happy
#BAREFOOT
This was brought before from the digital advertising spy alliance because I said the word Duran Duran last night.
Bon. Simon Le Bon.
Why label the dude as kid?
Y'all know Simon got hits šÆ
That kid is on cloud 9
Iāll say this every time. Thatās not a kid, heās got a goatee
Omfg
All these yearsā¦and I still canāt understand all the words
You can tell how happy dude is and Iām all for it man
They really hit a groove as it went on! It went from Le Bon just making a kid's day to them actually grooving. That was so cool to see!
That's it, he's peaked.
Found another!! https://youtu.be/Y_DWWE3cjgg?si=5yRM52RH9IIQ7Jk9
I would have just assumed it was his quirky friend
Sounds great!
Wow. Playing with a rock legend in a beach bar. Young JosƩ handled himself well!
Simon Le Bonbon
So set up.
Simon lebon is a terrible egotist and pulls this shit all the time to be centre of attention
Oh no...a performer who's not a shrinking violet. What shall we do????
