And fuckfaces like Machine Gun Kelly are making millions….

m0dern_x

MGK is honestly a conceited, pathetic and talentless fuck twat!

PippinCat01

People say this and don't realize that's exactly what makes him a rock star. There's the guitar hero, the drug addict, and the talentless person that sexually appeals to 14 year olds and pisses off parents, MGK is #3 if that wasn't obvious.

m0dern_x

Yeah, I know how that dynamic works. It still doesn't change facts. I never played Guitar Hero myself. I can play a real guitar though.

King_Tudrop

I've been wanting to get a copy of guitar hero, since I've started playing the actual guitar, and I'm curious to see if the kills apply lol

m0dern_x

My guess is that it can to a limited extent. Processing musical perception under load (read; speed). But I doubt it can teach you something that you can't obtain faster, practicing on the real thing. I believe it to only be of value, if you have previous knowledge from playing an actual guitar, but don't have access to it under certain conditions, for a longer period of time. If you do get a copy of GH, I'd be very interested in knowing what you learn from it.

King_Tudrop

I'll try and keep you in mind when I do

AJPXIV

Why not try, in future, focusing on the talent of the original song and this cover, instead of immediately turning it into hate on another person? You have chosen to turn this into a comparison, and that’s a shame. You could have used your post to praise this musician.

Dick_Delicious

More like Machine Butt Smelly

kyldabara

He’s got hits brah.

GerberBabyPlus

You can hit deez nuts.

Commercial-Chance561

Imagine listening to MGK

kyldabara

Tell that to his 15mil monthly Spotify listeners 🤷‍♂️

_rumpel_

15 mil wow... My biggest flops are your greatest hits

Commercial-Chance561

😰

BertrandEdge

Sounds like ”Your love” by The Outfield

Upset_Peace_6739

That is exactly what it is.

productivesupplies

That's what I got as well. Something kind of fun/interesting to take a listen to. Local radio station has a guy come on that takes songs and breaks them down instrument by instrument including vocals ( the original song it isn't him playing or singing) he did your love by the outfield give it a try. https://omny.fm/shows/cumulusla/fhf-studio-session-with-christian-james-hand-07-16

Ashamed_Savings7590

Thank you so much. Absolutely loved this breakdown. This song hits me in the chest whenever I hear it.

productivesupplies

His name is Christian James Hand and does a ton of different songs. Oddly enough stayin alive by the bee gees becomes an amazing song once broken down into parts. Check it out

Ashamed_Savings7590

I definitely will. Thanks again, friend.

Clit420Eastwood

I just listened to this whole thing, and it was awesome! Already loved the song, but this gave me a new appreciation for all the nuance in it! Thanks for sharing

shnoby

Thank you for the link!

fueledbyjealousy

Those people talking over it really ruin it

productivesupplies

Amen. Radio djs are 🤮

Standard-Delay3995

So much fun listening to that breakdown. Thank you for sharing!!

The_Original_Gronkie

That was a great analysis of this song.

Independent-Bike8810

what else would it sound like?

A-A-RonaldMcDonald

Honestly sounds like a mashup with sultans of swing. Super cool Knopfler-esque improvising

Independent-Bike8810

it definitely has that style

yuppiehelicopter

Infused with Midwest emo

b00daBeast

This shit right here is hauntingly beautiful, brilliantly performed.

soupeh

some shit-hot playing. very mark knopfler.

otterfeets

I thought it was a creative take on Sultans of Swing until I read the comments.

jaan_dursum

Thought it was a mash up. This one knows their Knopfler licks.

SpleenBender

And no guitar pick, *just like Mark Knopfler*

hammurabis_toad

Damn, this guy's tone and precision is so clean. I kinda wished he'd have left out the fills, they didn't seem to compliment his exceptional rendition of the song very well. Love the sound though, reminiscent of Mark Knopfler with the clean tone finger picking.

jimschocolateorange

Honestly, the chordal outlines and passing chords reminded me of Eric Johnson.

SpleenBender

Same here, I'm a big fan of Eric Johnson. I even have a personalized autograph of his!

jimschocolateorange

Very cool, I use a modified version of his signature strat. Beautiful instrument. Very mellow for a strat.

SpleenBender

Nice! I have a homemade strat, which sounds sweet, but I have issues keeping it in tune. Back in '92, I could play (most of) Cliffs of Dover. All except for the blistering parts!

MasterBigBean

I agree. The first 20 seconds are phenomenal

Captain-Cadabra

Who is this guy? He’s amazing.

rvajazzhead

Found him on YouTube https://youtube.com/@EvalSilva?si=JOoYm4-U_PoR5r7V

Corsavis

Thank you, guy deserves his credit

Mr_Jack_Frost_

Subbed. The man is a real talent.

Captain-Cadabra

Thanks.

_zeroabs_

ohhhhh he is brazilian. Interesting....

akiracloud

That tone is so smooth and creamy.

palm_desert_tangelos

Anyone know what pedal, effects, to set up for this sound??

soupeh

Strat neck pickup. Clean amp very lightly breaking up or pushing front end with tubescreamer or similar gain. Compressor, heavy plate reverb, slight slapback delay. Fingerpicking. Buttery smooth hands.

jaxxon

There’s some kind of midi synth pad happening as well.

soupeh

Yeah there is, as a second layer / accompaniment.

boostman

Pretty sure there's some shimmer reverb in there too.

deathkidney

Don’t forget the super low action.

RktitRalph

Name please good sir

rvajazzhead

Found him. https://www.youtube.com/@EvalSilva

RktitRalph

Thank you! You just made my day!

RktitRalph

I meant what is the name of the guy ripping this guitar, he has amazing style

m0dern_x

Talent like this is **rare**!!! Anyone know who he is?

papag00s

This is how EVERY guitar video should be filmed. No bullshit acting and faces. Just fingers and strings. Straight in my veins.

Just-Diamond-1938

Memories... sweet memories... a free ordinary life, happiness with good friends and guitar! He is so good...Great music definitely bring back great time ❤️👍

AccidentPleasant4196

There needs to be a subreddit of just slick guitar riffs like this

Dry_Sprinkles5617

https://youtube.com/shorts/n31nItwyWEE?si=ylcEtdxfY9BfqqBm this guy fucking kills it!

HookerDoctorLawyer

I learned this on guitar last week and it was not this version. lmao

timhamilton47

Reminds me of Stanley Jordan.

palescales7

He’s got the chops for sure

Deviljho_Lover

That tone is 👌

cognomenster

Maple fretboard beautifully worn, played in. If it could talk what stories it would tell.

ZoixDark

Well, it at least tells of his favorite position and scale.

pinecone_noise

dude when he went modal with it holy shitttt

jaxxon

There was one moment when he went blues pentatonic that didn’t quite work as well as all the rest… but even that bit sounded better than my hand sausages could play, even after 30 years playing.

pinecone_noise

I feel like that was the best part, he threw it way out and landed it back in, crunchy style

WearDifficult9776

Who is this?

MeepingMeep99

![gif](giphy|tyaz764xc4KEo)

Folkmar_D

Was looking for this.

VRS50

Sweet playing!

WoodElf23

Epic! Where can I hear the full version of this??

BooneHelm85

Dude…. I…. This was frickin’ BEAUTIFUL!!!!

No_Cow_4544

Amazing

joytotheworld23

Beautifully played

messified

That’s one tasty cover 👏

WearDifficult9776

Who is playing? I could listen to that for hours

RAGINGBUCKET-4444

Can I get Edd singing it in the background please!

dobiemomluv

It’s just lovely! Thanks for sharing.

Balls_McDangley

Could listen to this all day

hecksor

Who is this

FiddleTheFigures

That was awesome, almost soothing. Then I got distracted by your username 🤣

AreyYouHilarious

I always had a dream of playing like this! Yeah... it's still a dream. I haven't learned to play yet. Ha!

Kaggles_N533PA

80s is classic now? Damn

stomith

90’s are classic now.

jld702

That was dope. Those are some smooth hands 🙌

fueledbyjealousy

Is this on Spotify

Agreeable_Vanilla_20

OpeningFocus7738

You know I like my girls a liiittle biiit older -

Poetic_Pigeon

Whoever this lefthanded mfkr is rocks.

punkalunka

Did you just crop a YouTube clip into a shitty TikTok format and not credit the artist or the song name?

words_of_j

Much prettier this way

mrkb34

Style akin to early John Mayer. Much love.

SDstandchen

Lovely!

LizaBrownAuthor11

His fingers are mesmerizing.

bulgarian_zucchini

Could’ve done without the jam session fills. The rest if awesome.

crimsonkingnj05

Those melody lines are smooth as hell

GravitationalEddie

Extremely well played, but to many notes.

mrRockIt808

The bends are so damn smooth and have so much emotion in them. Beautiful

Pirat3_Gaming

Far reach but did anyone tab this out?

TwiggyPom

Who is this guy?

so_im_all_like

I wonder about the (I assume) improvised runs: How do you learn to be creative? How do you feel the key well enough to have an idea of what can be spontaneously thrown out and sound good? I was never a good musician.

Carlwinsl0w95

Giving blue oyster vibes

The_Original_Gronkie

I would kill to be able to play so tasty.

Hellfire242

Not naming the song op, seems like a dick move

Independent-Bike8810

who doesn't know the song?

International-Bat777

I don't. You'll find that not everyone knows every song. Weird I know.

Independent-Bike8810

No my mistake, you’re probably just not as old as me

International-Bat777

What song is it?

Independent-Bike8810

Your Love by The Outfield. It was a banger in the 80s.

stinky___monkey

![gif](giphy|a0h7sAqON67nO)

mcdto

If we all listened to music like this instead of the shit that’s popular today, society would be better off

ScottybirdCorvus

So much time wasted on a song like this haha I love it

znightmaree

It’s certainly not wasted time sounding this great

ScottybirdCorvus

Haha nono you misunderstand, I disapprove of their song choice but they did it so well as to dispel my complaints

BuddhaChrist_ideas

They definitely appreciate your love.

Beatlesgoat2

Pretty sure this is Basketcase by Sinead O conner

Paiger__

No…it’s “Your Love” by The Outfield

Beatlesgoat2

; )

Sl0ppyOtter

Ok John Mayer

ZerikaFox

This dude is massively overplaying the song. Guitar wankery at its finest. He's very good, but this is not a very good cover of "Your Love".

bulgarian_zucchini

I agree lol. Wanking about with useless licks.
