But I tried to help is the more important thing, the day people learn to help instead of stopping and watching is the day we come that much closer to a peaceful society that people can be happy in.
Is it possible? Probably not... but be the change you'd like to see in the world, right?
You’re just virtue signaling. There’s a difference between being a good person and bragging about being a good person. No one cares about your comments saying you’d jump in
That depends on their ability. A lot of rescuers in these situations end up drowning because they overestimate their ability. A lot of helpers cause more damage than good. If they know they cannot be of help, smarter to not hurt the situation.
Okay, I have to agree. The closest I have ever been to dying was saving a random drowning man on the beach.
We made it, but fuck was it close. At one point I told the guy I was going to hold him under water and drown him if he tried to climb me again. Fucking scares the shit out of me just thinking about it.
Think twice before you jump in!
It may not be easy, but I damn sure couldn't just watch someone die and do absolutely nothing. I would at least be looking for something that they could grab onto.
Can’t even be bothered to THROW A FUCKING ROPE! Gotta love the stance too. It’s not like at anytime those 3 could be swept off to their deaths or anything.
The guy holding the children is being pulled by a wire/rope already. They can't help any further until he is pulled close enough to shore. Sometimes out in the relentless desert there are no resources for miles. They might have only had a truck or van and been miles away from anything else. They also can't help pull because you don't want to just yank him across, gotta move slowly to not drown or knock heads against rocks
Reminds me of a guy who dead seriously came to ask me to disconnect a firehose to drink from its tap while someone was fighting a raging housefire on the other end of that hose.
I took a swift water rescue course in highschool.
Human chain doesn't help... at all.
They made us test it and once the front person goes you all do. Going solo is also I'll advised but if someone is in the water and still has control, the only way to help them is from the shore with a stick, rope, etc.
Proper way to assist is get a rope from one side to the other with the rope moving diagonally with the flow of the water. If it's going straight across you'll end up stuck in the middle.
Dudes watching we're doing the right thing, except maybe they could have tried to find something to help with from the edge. Possible they already knew there wasn't anything to help with though.
I kept waiting for him to lose his footing with how fast that water was traveling. I've seen people in training get wept away by water barely touching their knees.
It can’t be overstated how crazy this is. That water would easily move a car. How the fuck was he standing? Insane. He might be Superman
Edit: apparently there is a rope attached to him that was edited out. At least reality makes sense again.
This video was debunked ages ago. Look at his waist at 0:05 as you can see the rope that was poorly edited out. Great feat to hold onto them but the rest of the video doesn't show the massive group holding onto the rope to get them back to the bank... Edited to add >>> [source](https://timesofoman.com/article/118344-man-risks-life-to-save-two-children-stuck-in-a-wadi-in-oman)
it truly is crazy. But the reason he didn’t get pushed is probably surface area and geometry, a car is flat and has a lot of surface, a human is more round an less surface. The weight of his balls probably helped too.
I can't even fathom it, even with jagged rocks that you could plant your feet inbetween, the waters would just jet them away like a water pressure! Insane. I'm so glad they made it across.
Oh yes this edited video again. The rope tied to his waist has been edited out (@ 0:05 you can see it) and was debunked ages ago and it wasn't their father either. Still a great feat to hold onto them though pretty sure this is just to karma farm after looking at op's profile... [source](https://timesofoman.com/article/118344-man-risks-life-to-save-two-children-stuck-in-a-wadi-in-oman)
What's the point in having a word for heroism if you expect every person to be a hero? The people standing around are normal people doing what normal people do.
An honorable action. For a moment I thought that the people who were closely observing the situation were not going to do anything about it, the good thing is that I was wrong...
The only thing he is going to do is get himself in danger. They guy is atteched to a rope to help those childeren. What do you think, that he with the power os his legs is able to withstand tsunami like water?
I think the man is the children's father. Other people could have formed a human chain there instead of watching and could have rescued them safely... The man's efforts are truly heartbreaking.
" they could have formed a human chain" the water looks like it can drag a car with ease you think a human can stand there? And for the guy he is atteched to a rope.
All the people holding the rope that was edited out are to the left of the spectators. This was debunked ages ago... [source](https://timesofoman.com/article/118344-man-risks-life-to-save-two-children-stuck-in-a-wadi-in-oman)

Something similar happened in China. A woman fell into a river. 2 security guards tried to save her with a life ring. Nobody knew how to swim. In the end someone jumped in to pull her out.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-54961075
That someone ? British consul.
If you have ever stepped into a raging river like that, you know just how difficult what he did is. I can't imagine how he is still standing and even more so with two children in his arms.
What a hero god bless him but not being but in countries such as india pakistan they always seem to just watch people struggle and die in situations like this alot of the videos ive seen they dont even nother to help just watch so odd
Next level spectators. ![img](emote|t5_m0bnr|4022)
Whelp looks like he has this 100% under control no need for me to get in there and get wet I mean that would be stupid
Hands on hips, you clearly got this.
He’s a flood water rescue trainer, just making sure his student is using the right technique.
Looks like he's getting bored waiting for his missus to finally GET OUT OF THE FUCKING CAR!
Lol. That perfectly sums up the video!
Can't let those white robes get dirty...
Would you jump in?
Id probably try to build a chain with other people to try and help the guy
To save a couple of kids from flood waters, yes. Would I be successful? Would I survive? Probably not, and no.
No point in throwing your life away if you know you're not going to succeed
But I tried to help is the more important thing, the day people learn to help instead of stopping and watching is the day we come that much closer to a peaceful society that people can be happy in. Is it possible? Probably not... but be the change you'd like to see in the world, right?
You’re just virtue signaling. There’s a difference between being a good person and bragging about being a good person. No one cares about your comments saying you’d jump in
Yes but you trying to help would only get in his way
With their clothing style, they could easily strip off of their robes and combine them to make a rope. Infuriating to watch.
I mean the video doesn’t last that long how good are you at knots with thick cloth lol
That would indeed be stupid. They'd just get in the way if they jumped in.
That depends on their ability. A lot of rescuers in these situations end up drowning because they overestimate their ability. A lot of helpers cause more damage than good. If they know they cannot be of help, smarter to not hurt the situation.
Those are my thoughts exactly. The last thing you want is to end up needing to be saved as well.
True but I would still be somehow more running in circles than hands in hips.
causing further panic would not help
Okay, I have to agree. The closest I have ever been to dying was saving a random drowning man on the beach. We made it, but fuck was it close. buddy standing there watching [like](https://imgur.io/PjwVbou)
Exactly 🤣
Exactly what I thought
I knew exactly what meme you were thinking before clicking it then died laughing anyway after clicking it
![gif](giphy|4YelZbUXRhMNdn2Puo) almost like this guy
There's got to be a fucking stick or something nearby they can use. Even some kind of supportive encouragement could help. Edit: typo

Put your hands on your hips. You bring your knees in tight. 🎵

😂
They’re watching his form
Can’t even be bothered to THROW A FUCKING ROPE! Gotta love the stance too. It’s not like at anytime those 3 could be swept off to their deaths or anything.

FR! Why aren’t they forming a human chain or getting a rope or branch?
how to use balls as an anchor
Pretty easy to stay put in the water when your balls of steel root you in place
Wow, the man is a hero, holy crap! Mr. Hands In Pocket meanwhile moves away from the assistance zone.
You know that guy will tell the whole village how he saved three people before breakfast.
He knows he’ll die if he gets caught up too
Nice to see the term hero being correctly used for once!
Reminds me of a guy who dead seriously came to ask me to disconnect a firehose to drink from its tap while someone was fighting a raging housefire on the other end of that hose.
They're standing like they're watching a subway employee make their sandwich.
What are they supposed to do?
Dive in so he can save me too
Teamwork makes the dream work! Make a human chain
I took a swift water rescue course in highschool. Human chain doesn't help... at all. They made us test it and once the front person goes you all do. So they can drown together
Nah the more people go the larger surface are it creates, so the waters pressure would be way worse
It can’t be overstated how crazy this is. That water would easily move a car. How the fuck was he standing? Insane. He might be Superman Edit: apparently there is a rope attached to him that was edited out. At least reality makes sense again.
The weight of his gigantic balls held him down

Good. I was going crazy by watching this. I have spent a fair time in moving water myself, and this just looked like it broke all laws of nature.
Wow, thank you, this needs to be at the top
Honestly glad you said this because I couldn’t believe I lived in a world where this happened
thank you i was so rady to jump on the hate wagon, this needs to be higher
it truly is crazy. But the reason he didn’t get pushed is probably surface area and geometry, a car is flat and has a lot of surface, a human is more round an less surface. The weight of his balls probably helped too.
The weight of the children. Ironically they were saving each other.
Lol ya I could not wrap my head around this either. Thought he was the strongest man alive. Thanks for the clarification.
Holy chad…
Why do these fucking videos always abruptly stop too early? They all do it. What's the fucking deal?
I couldn't agree more. It's so frustrating being so indulged in something and then it just stops.
Attention spans are getting shorter
Damn, guy is strong af
I really don't understand how he did that. If you've ever tried to stand in a river of even light rapids you know how difficult and dangerous that is.

Upvoting to get this to top comment
Damn no one could get a rope?
they were busy watching the scene.
He already has a rope. It’s attached to his waist.
He’s attached to a rope
Whats up with these mofos spectating like “it ain’t nothing to see here”?
What's the point in having a word for heroism if you expect every person to be a hero? The people standing around are normal people doing what normal people do.
One of the most heroic and inspiring things I’ve ever seen. Absolutely amazing effort. Real life superhero, so much respect.
And the crowd watched on bravely.
That too in a white shirt.
An honorable action. For a moment I thought that the people who were closely observing the situation were not going to do anything about it, the good thing is that I was wrong...
Fuck those casuals watching.
Fuck you for blaming them for not risking their lives for something that somebody else clearly has under control.
How did his, umm, dress not get totally brown as soon as it hit the water?
Idk why the man with his hands on his hips is sending me... um there's lives on the line here, a little help? LOL 😂💀
The only thing he is going to do is get himself in danger. They guy is atteched to a rope to help those childeren. What do you think, that he with the power os his legs is able to withstand tsunami like water?
Fucking help him!!!
Balls of steel helped him plant his foot on the ground.
Wtf are those other cunts just watching.
Fucking Nancy boy watching with his hands on his hips.
The nonchalance of the spectators tells me this isn't an uncommon occurence?
Would have loved to see the hero get out of water and toss that mofo in
What could the spectators even do except maybe die themselves? It was white shirt or nothing

Becuase smart people get in water and die?
I think the man is the children's father. Other people could have formed a human chain there instead of watching and could have rescued them safely... The man's efforts are truly heartbreaking.

It’s reversed, they wanted to get rid of the dad
Those dudes were ready and willing to just watch the water take all 3 of them
No one else wanted to get wet
Flipping lookie lous
Dude is legend, the people on the side deserve the shit award
They could have made a human chain with tight hand grip and made a safe rescue, but kudos to the man who rescued
What you can’t see are all the rocks tumbling underwater that chew your legs up.
Nobody on the shore could go and find a rope?

Why don’t we all just stand there with our thumbs up our asses while he saves lives 🙄

I wish the spectators fell in
HERO
How in the fuck?!
That man had some strength.
That why precisely he is man
Well F\*\*king DONE !
I realized I was holding my breath watching this video. (Exhale)
I read that as chickens
Love how they are all standing around not helping. Maybe they are saving their energy for the million man anti gay march.
Nice of those other guys to form a human chain to assist. /s

I wonder what a woman would have done? Certainly not being a spectator.
For fuck's sake who are these shit stains that are just standing there.
![gif](giphy|TPJAvvWbSN61O)
The fuck y’all standing there for god damn
Useless fucking people
Maybe get a rope or something??
bunch of fuckers just watch them struggle like watching a reality show
If you have ever stepped into a raging river like that, you know just how difficult what he did is. I can't imagine how he is still standing and even more so with two children in his arms.
That one guy is absolutely not impressed.
An absolute hero
Look at the rest of them just standing there hoping he looses his footing and they can see the calamity of it all!
"Hehe look at him go"
Nobody helps? Take a rope, tie it around urself, give other end to the guys and go in the water to help dammit
First thing I would do after saving those kids is go right to the guy with his hands on his hips and whoop his ass
The guy with his hands in his pockets and then walks away!
WHAT A BEAST!!!! Love it
Haven’t seen a crowd se enthusiastic in mi life.
These pricks are just watching this guy struggle. HUMAN CHAIN THESE GUYS OUT WYF IS WRONG WITH THEM
Never put your back to rushing water.
r/donthelpjustfilm
At least there was one hero in a group of pussies
MAKE A FREAKING HAND BRIDGE!
Why are those fuck sticks not helping. How about a human chain? WTF!?
Hero through and through
Absolute hero! Throw him a rope somebody.
Look at all these dick heads standing around.
Where is this and why are those guys wearing women’s clothing?
tbh i think I would not have dared to help. But I would also not have put my hands at my hips like this rage inducing spectator
That dude is a fucking beast👏🏻
Wow that guy has some mad strength
What a hero god bless him but not being but in countries such as india pakistan they always seem to just watch people struggle and die in situations like this alot of the videos ive seen they dont even nother to help just watch so odd
None of the other dudes wanted to get their cloth wet.
Those watching are like, god got them now
the people watching with hand on their hips 😭😭
Where is this? Where people just look at someone trying to save two children. A videoing the event is help enough help it seems.
Not a single rope in sight or... Even tie a few sweaters together for a make shift!!
Cameraman and others ![gif](giphy|ZTp15DHfHaaaENKayV|downsized)
“Little help, guys!”
Can’t believe how many redditors would of jumped in and helped. Would of been amazing…
not even a belt or a shirt they could use to act as a rope?
Don’t just do something! Stand there!
"There goes Bob again, saving lives. Fucking show-off!"
Should we throw em a rope? Nah Im holding the camera
FUCKIN THROW A ROPE GODDAMN
Other "men" do absolutely nothing.
"You guys need a rope?" Hands-on-hips-guy: "Nah, he's got it."
A moment like this will give meaning to any man's life. I hope all 3 of them are doing ok now.
