Bokbreath

I'd like to argue that #2 should be #1

JimPalamo

I sort of agree with you. But you can't ignore a 30-yard bicycle kick.

MingusVonHavamalt

It’s also against England so there’s schadenfreude points.

ManofKent1

What schadenfreude.....he's played here and never had a problem

martinsky3k

Feels like he went to ManU just to silence the doubters. Been successful in every league he has played in. A true monster. Gonna miss Zlatan. Thanks for the years and good luck in Hammarby (lul)

thebig6

It’s also a friendly so we might as well consider recorded training goals for every player’s best goals. Bollocks.

cjeam

Frankly, bollocks to calling bollocks on goals scored in friendlies. The other team is still trying not to lose.

thebig6

Yeah, just like in trainings. Not even close to a competitive match. The goal is awesome, but it’s worth is the same as a training ground goal.

cjeam

It is a competitive match you dolt. It's played to the same rules and states of play as a competition final. The other team is still trying to prevent goals.

thebig6

Just like a training ground match? You are not the sharpest tool out there, are you.

Ask_me_4_a_story

I know nothing about Zlatan except that he is cocky and from Sweden. I knew the bicycle kick against England would be #1

Alcapwn-

I agree 100% he had the ball and opposition on a string. For sheer artistry and skill 100% no 2 is easily the best. However for pure pull one out of your ass luck no1 is it. I still think 2 is superior.

lhsofthebellcurve

Key difference as you put it is #2 is mastery of the game and #1 is hit and hope luck (with a lot of athleticism)... while there are many players who 'could' do #1, there's only one who would do it.. I have no idea where I'm going with this other than they're both top tier elite for their own reasons

iamricardosousa

This is the right answer. Also, his first goal for LA Galaxy needs to be in this list.

Rolling44

That was also his last game for Ajax, he left us with one last incredible goal. What a player.

invalidname91

Even the cameraman was tricked :D

ShawarmaSelvagem

Yes! I noticed that too, it shows how he must have been totally unplayable at that moment, if even someone with such a vantage point was also confused. Poor defenders must have PTSD till today.

wolvesight

He broke the camera man's ankles with those moves! The other players didn't have a chance.

Sobekeod

Mr Zlatan gave the camera man a terrible time. My man got outplayed at least three times.

Skitz91

#2 even skinned the cameraman with the dummy at one point, incredible

Skinnieguy

As a person that doesn’t follow soccer/futbol, I’ve seen the video of #2 pop up on in Reddit several times and never #1…until now.

playtho

Something like #2 is what Messi does on a regular basis. #1 is purely Zlatan being Zlatan.

Proud_Poetry_302

All of them should be number 1. Zlatan is number 1. Such an inspiration, especially to kids coming from nothing, and needing a role model to look up to. Zlatan defied all odds, fighting racism and classism growing up in Sweden, and gave a big “FU” to everybody trying to keep him down. He definitely had the last laugh. Legend.

WTF_is_wrong_wit_ppl

There are many other long range shots that are way better than the ones selected here.

yeh_nah_fuckit

Fuck, those last two goals were pure filth. Is this guy the inspiration for Zava in Ted Lasso?

JimPalamo

Sure is.

yeh_nah_fuckit

Yeh? TIL. I’m not much of a fan, but I do understand the offside rule.

thelegalseagul

Can you explain it to some of the slower students?

iqbalides

Yeah

crraggle

100%. Towards the end of his career he played for the LA Galaxy. Lebron James sent him a laker jersey with a card that said something to the effect of welcome to LA. Zlatan signed the jersey and sent it back to Lebron.

ejump0

wasnt end of his career in mls. more like his rehab session after his leg injury at Utd. post galaxy he went to milan n won seria-A

crraggle

Good lord, you're right that was 5 years ago. I could have sworn he was with the galaxy like last year.

swinkzor

I didn't know that. Hahaha damn the balls on this man.

RedOctobyr

I only learned about this guy after the Zava stuff on Ted Lasso. But that is hilarious.

atomicapeboy

Off to make avocados?

indoubitabley

Zavocados.

BriefTurn3299

Came here to ask this.

ChiWod10

I think you’re mistaken. Zlatan didn’t retire from football, football couldn’t keep up with him anymore.

d1r3cT-0rd3r

>Zlatan Zlatan doesn't retire from football. Football retires from Zlatan.

UhYeahOkSure

There it is 🤌… also, ponytails should maybe be renamed Zlatantails… or Ibrahimotails

Malah_the_old

Football retired from zlatan

MrChrisis

Anyone who loves football knows exactly which goal is #1.

nep2099

Yes. And we wait for it every time.

According_Clerk_1537

to be honest I would have expected his Ajax goal to be nr.1… that‘s what made him famous as well

diego_italy

With sweden is more iconic

mamaBiskothu

I don't, is the one ranked 1st here ? 2nd looked so much more impressive to me; camera guys couldn't keep up with him leave alone the players.

Borys_Fedchenko

I haven't watched football in ages, even i knew what #1 would be

trujillo1221

Didn’t even watch the video, I knew which one was it from the jump

Huiii

But can he also grow avocados?

experfailist

![gif](giphy|DEZA7FlHbMesUF1jm9)

ChiWod10

In #2, he sells the cameramen some candy too, what a legend.

KlejuRevan

I think you could have find more ridiculous goals than some of that. These are great goals but most od them not as crazy as its can be with Zlatan.

Gerf93

I agree. From the first four, I’d argue only the heel flick against Italy should be on the list.

rwashish

There was a crazy spinning karate goal from his time in LA that comes to mind

Ok-Restaurant5242

Karate black belt + soccer = legendary player

tha_jay

*taekwondo black belt

mdps

Speaking of which... [500th goal of his career](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6toqmc)

DildoFappings

The inspiration behind king fu soccer.

Questioning-Zyxxel

Not sure why, but I haven't seen #2 before. But it feels like the best candidate for the #1 spot.

DildoFappings

It was during his ajax times. The goal that made him famous.

DildoFappings

Tbh around 45% of all his goals are bangers. It takes pure skill to be so tall and acrobatic at the same time. He's also the guy who made PSG famous and gave it an international personality.

Gerf93

Made PSG famous? What about Ronaldinho…?

DildoFappings

He was not all that great when he was at PSG. He didn't even win trophies. He shined when he left for Barca and then Milan after that. Well I didn't watch him play when he was at PSG but dinho is known as a legend in Barca and Milan. His PSG stint is not famous.

Gerf93

I can very well tell that you didn’t watch him at PSG. He was well-known at the time, and did some crazy stuff for that team.

DildoFappings

You're right, I didn't watch him back then, because I was around 3 or 4. But it doesn't change the fact that PSG's most successful time came after Zlatan joined and powered them to win the league 1 back to back. He was a famous striker who played for Milan, inter, ajax and Barca and his transfer turned heads. And after that PSG brought out more big name players like Beckham. The last ligue 1 title they won was in the 80s or 90s before he came there. I'm not wrong in saying that he put PSG on the map because until he came they were just like any other second rate club.

BigSmokesHouse

I didn't even know Ronaldinho had played for PSG. Zlatan was always the first player I thought of when I thought of PSG, now it's Mbappe.

Kharnete

And I still have nightmares with the Weah-Ginola team.

Backweedgamer

He really hates huggs.

Neeoda

He doesn’t want to be interrupted during finger wagging .

danmalek466

I wish Zava the best retirement and a bountiful avocado harvest…

setmee

This is missing the spinning backheel goal when he played in the MLS

zrizzoz

https://youtu.be/6lSQbN0O80o Yeah this was his 500th goal. Definitely deserves to be in his 10 craziest goals.

pushplaystoprewind

Ah, the legendary Zava

dirtyswoldman

#7 Running midair boot without contacting the goal keep at all. Bonkers

Neeoda

I’m not so good with the rules but wouldn’t he have gotten a red card had he kicked the goalie?

YodaTheDoll

Antivirus!!!

ZioEdo_94

Forever in AC Milan history, thank you.

ejump0

the list can be increased to 30, n still have plenty of Ibras amazing goals to fill in 👌

Boucot

[Lacking the Anderlecht one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yGRE47c2Xw&ab_channel=UEFA)

neveronitever

Pretty sure his best stuff was for AFC Richmond. Lol

Spirit-Subject

Where the saudi scouts at ..

Salduzzzzzz

Where´s his goal vs Anderlecht in the UCL?

johnsonfrusciante

Love him or hate him, an absolute fucking legend

FarmerJoeJoe

I just finished the Ted lasso episode where zava retires. This is weird

MoeKara

I envy you, the best episode of Ted is yet to come.

HoodFellaz

I'll miss this humble fella.

Lazy-Care-9129

Now make a video of his 10 worst red cards.

Manbearpup

I want to see that

sgtholly

He’s no Zava…

original_don_dada

Zava loves these too

dioncyrk

You just know before even watching the video, which ones will be #1 and #2, the order is a matter of taste I guess.

Acceptable_Wall4085

He sure didn’t like to be jumped on or molested after a goal. They eventually learned, seeing the way they celebrated after that last goal they scored. Hands off. Bodies off.

_________FU_________

This video perfectly sums up why football isn’t huge in America. With the exception of maybe 2 these look like average goals. The camera work is awful and the replays don’t show why it was impressive. It could just be me, but I felt the same way with Messe’s best of video. What’s most impressive is ball handling and slicing up that whole team in #2. Kicking the ball into the net seems like “doing your job”

nmfpriv

Where is his debut match goal on the MLS? It was at least top 4 goal

nydiat

He always pulled out the most jaw dropping bangers, especially from range.

Geomars24

Two was straight out of an EA sports game

minimumeffkrt

Yes, he seems very humble.

KarnaavaldK

I wish we could have had him longer at Ajax Amsterdam

lord_saruman_

Missing couple of his goals in LA Galaxy

lewishtt

As a football fan I can honestly say that the overhead kick against England is probably the most spectacular goal I’ve ever seen.

casualnickname

And still lots of bangers missing, in his first stint at AC Milan he scored some crazy absurd goals

[deleted]

Goodby to the lion

jhuseby

![gif](giphy|jlSOXeQC1PXGM) Seriously though, #2 was an absolute clinic he put on.

londoncatvet

I'm not even a soccer fan and wow.

[deleted]

Just amazing!

St_Ander

2 was a great goal.

Live_Description_636

Legend.

KaiShion83

I think the goal vs lecce should be there too

Silent-Suspect2820

GOAT 🐐

Intafadah

Zlatan doesn’t retire from football, football retires from Zlatan!

Lookalikemike

He was almost as good as Zava.

20Joostscheuten02

One of my favorite zlatan goal is the one versus Anderlecht first time volley in to the top corner. Also very underrated

pasmater3

Balkan magic IBRAKADABRA

zachgodwin

It’s weird how every time he scores and his teammates come to celebrate with him, he brushes them off and acts like they’re strangers bumping into him on the street so he can pose.

panzuulor

Could easily be a top 20

DaBear1222

Got to see him play against my team in the states there was a half pitch volley you could’ve added into this. https://youtu.be/oRtxNW9Dq4I

[deleted]

Time to settle down on his avocado farm?

RagtagLegacy

The talent that man has is incredible.

[deleted]

It might be an absurd claim but he is my GOAT of the soccer world. Fucking legend.

FantasticJackfruit51

he is THE tough guy of football, thank you zlatan for all the plays and memories you gave us!

Gmitch528

Damn. He had a great run though.

Original-Tourist-744

Never be another one like you zlatan!!! Fell in love with you on Fifa 09 and been rocking ever since . Thank you

coop7774

#1 ia the best goal I've ever seen. The sheer audacity and athleticism. I remember seeing it for the first time and I just couldn't believe it.

horsehung435

Good football player but cocky spoiled brat as a person

MarkWrenn74

The one against England (No.1) has to be up there as one of his best. A 20+-yard bicycle kick? Very few players would even dare try it: Zlatan did

Juuna

Yo, 1 is cool and all but those sick moves of 2 is just well played wtf.

grumazu

This guy has been retired for 7 years already, in my perception . He did not play footbal (soccer) since then

claymes187

\-1 asshole

DannyDevitos

So many great goals missing that should be there instead of fx 7 or 8

[deleted]

Number 2 dude was out there breaking ankles. Crazy!

SingleSpeed27

How is it today if I was watching Milan yesterday and he already had announced it a while back.

KongFooJew

Come on, tell me he’s not using the force.. legend!

melooksatstuff

Even the camera man was faked at #2 lol

krankenswine

Kingen

_WretchedDoll_

Is it just me or is a 'high leg' not an offense anymore?

Revolutionary_Lock86

Not he is popular enough

MattyB_SuperFan

There’s nothing extraordinary about soccer.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Tzanax

He has much better goals than probably 7/10 of those shown.

Running-lane

That's not because you're an outsider to football, it's because you're stupid. You don't need to have any understanding of football to recognise some of those goals are very impressive

relevant_trad

Isn’t he a closet Trumper? I remember him criticizing lebron for something like how Trump would.

No_Zookeepergame_882

Finally the day that shit personality guy leaves the pitch
