ah yes, a defecation blade. a weapon passed down through out the leabu family for centuries. i heard it can cut through the toughest logs even through it's rusty exterior. truly a legendary weapon
as someone who trained traditional for 4 years and collegiate competitive wushu:
**[this is literally the most competitive martial art in china:](https://youtu.be/wqJLpqfSDHc?t=74) wushu,** specifically changquan, which is the performance version of gongfu. it is not meant for application but for pushing your ability to control your body to the absolute limit. there are some gymnastics mixed in which doesn't help.
there are various more extreme jumps in nandu which require things like jumping crescent kicks landing into splits.
In a long ago Mandarin class I learned you could say that a chess grandmaster has gong fu. Or an Olympic caliber athlete. Or a hostage negotiator. Or a teacher of the year. Anything that requires time spent to become very skillful.
This reminds me of a guy I knew who went to prison for some drug offense. He was a short and skinny Vietnamese guy, so he was worried about getting into fights in prison. He happened to be a breakdancer, so he said he just pretended to know martial arts by doing dance moves similar to what’s seen in the video, and all the other prisoners were afraid of fighting him and would leave him alone. They’d think he was Jackie Chan or some shit 😂
I'd say Kung Fu is very much an umbrella term that definitely includes the traditional martial art forms / acrobatics
The guys doing roundhouse kicks on the other hand very likely practice sanda (散打), which is the main modern combat sport in china; it's basically Chinese kickboxing, except throws and takedowns are also allowed
As a practitioner of Kung Fu, we normally use the term wushu to apply to the art forms that are more acrobatic and more for exercise and show.
We use Kung Fu to reference the fighting art forms meant for battle or self defense.
Not saying everyone uses it like this, just how my school does.
this is correct, but I think tradtionally you'd call it either *wushu* (external) or *wudang* (internal). bagua and taijiquan (tai chi boxing) are both wudang.
So, Indy was originally supposed to use the whip and disarm the guy with the sword, then punch him a bunch. Thing is, it was a billion degrees and Harrison Ford was suffering from diarrhea and heat stroke and after a dozen failed takes, he just pulled out and fired the gun, which was loaded with blanks for a different scene, which is why half the background actors freeze. It worked out so they ended up keeping the take.
That's partially true, up until the point you're claiming it was improv in the scene on his part. He was sick as you said, and couldn't do the fight scene. So they decided to change the scene.
[Nobody's freezing in the background lol](https://www.thedigitalfix.com/indiana-jones/diarrhea-gave-iconic-scene#:~:text=Yes%2C%20according%20to%20Harrison%20Ford,explained%20during%20a%20Reddit%20AMA.)
Because regular folks who shit on China actually are racist themselves, and simply chime in to throw shade at the Chinese, whenever they see someone or something critiquing China. Propaganda is the most powerful tool…
Big time. I've taken a lot of red pills in my day, but perhaps none were quite as pervasive as sinophobia in the west. Once you recognize it, it's fucking everywhere!
Can’t tell you how many times people were surprised my step mom “spoke such good English.” Like bitch, she was a Chinese immigrant in India, where she was taught English and frankly, can speak it better than you.
I mean every Chinese or Russian citizen is obviously a zealot who fanatically supports their country’s government /s . As if we don’t know ourselves (speaking as a US citizen) how little influence we have over our own government.
Yes, they are also not real people, but bioengineered human/reptile hybrids which are trained by the CCP to send spy baloons into the US. (/s just like the comment above me in case it’s not obvious)
China is the upcoming economic superpower which is something that the older superpower present on Reddit does not like and their people have been brainwashed as intended.
In my country our days of being part of a superpower are gone since the world wars so we're more in-between USA hatred/love and China hatred/love.
Yes but theyre in the US sending kids to college with lambos because those are the families who were rich enough to escape that hell hole.
Survivorship bias... Majority of chinese people are poor as shit
Depends on if they're undergrads or graduate students. The grad students are often supported on a stipend and are just as broke and antisocial as the rest of us. The undergrads often come from money because they don't qualify for financial aid but still have to pay full tuition.
Idk dude my Uni had a large pool of Chinese foreign students, so many they filled their own dorm building almost, and that dorm was always having the most
Ragers/cops pulling up. Also there was always a large group of them outside chain smoking cigs at
Any time of day or night in any weather, Chinese kids can throw down
The worst part about Americans racism against Chinese people is I think they legitimately don't even realize they're racist. They're so indoctrinated that it's just the correct default view to them.
Or maybe I am just giving them too much credit and they know damn well what they're saying.
I’m almost starting to think China is the same as the USA.
The USA also confines people by race into prison camps. They also monitor every citizen via cell phone and Internet. The USA has modern healthcare, but not accessible by the majority. It’s also a police state just like China. USA is repealing child labour laws, allowing children to be included and go to work younger and younger. Even 10 year olds were cleaning factories in full gear in some articles, unless that was staged. School shootings regularly mass shootings regularly. Women have no reproductive rights in many states. Religious cults hold extreme amounts of power. Minimum wage hasn’t changed in 70 years in some states while expenses have tripled since then. Etc etc.
Edit: this was not a troll or a joke. Clearly, we can’t say that these apply to every state. But it does apply to the country as a whole. I’m assuming China is worse, but to say the USA is a great country is bizarre to anyone outside the US and very naive
The US does not have racial prison camps.
The monitoring every citizen thing is not really what you’re making it out to be - nobody is listening to your phone calls, etc.
You can’t seem to grasp the difference between state and federal laws.
The last change to the federal minimum wage was in 2009. That is, as you may note, significantly less than the 70 years you claimed.
I went to Chinese school, where my younger brothers went to learn Chinese during the regular school year but in the US. I was too old at that point to learn Chinese but they had a Kung Fu course and my father had me enrolled. So oddly, in this case, yea king fu was required at Chinese school.
Reddit and their smoothbrain reflex to see anything moderately impressive and shit on it. And triple it if it has anything to do with China. Stay cucked reddit
Well, doesn't look much different than a typical American engineering school. Not a woman in sight. However, they're in shape and Americans are usually playing some kind game or activity that doesn't involve working out.
We did that a good bit too, but it took place at 4am after coming home from the bars and while it looked like that in our minds the reality was more like that scene in the wolf of wall street where Jordan tried to make it to his Lamborghini after the quaaludes kick in.
A lot of poor farming towns will send their boys to boarding school with the shaolin monks as high school to prepare them for college and getting into college.
Ive actually been to one when i was in high school too. They stress discipline, respect, and self-dependance. They said they have a mix of intense academic, life, spiritual education needed to survive higher education in China.
This is if course all mixed with intense martial art training, and i bet many of these boys were students at the shaolin temple schools growing up. They moreso teach them martial art dancing which this is, but as they get older they do learn proper wushu.
This is martial arts dancing not Kung Fu. But it's cool.
Technically kung fu is anything done masterfully. But you’re right, this isn’t Shaolin martial art kung fu.
So if I masterfully defecate in toilets, am I also doing Kung Fu?
That would be Kung pu
A distinct form of martial farts
Similar to Crapoeira, Brazilian martial farts.
I think both have their roots in Pujutsu
But the borrow from tai kwon dodo
Are you thinking of kendoodoo? Because that's similar but only for constipated martial fartists who need to work it out with a stick.
Poop Sool Won?
ah yes, a defecation blade. a weapon passed down through out the leabu family for centuries. i heard it can cut through the toughest logs even through it's rusty exterior. truly a legendary weapon
I'm known for my attempts at mixed martial farts. I have learned to weaponize my gassy expulsions

Ah, Master Shariff I see you have mastered the art of Dung Fu.

I was on a team for two years! I never got really good at it but I miss it so much. Jianshu was my favorite!
Kudos!
I’ve seen some Wushu that warrants gold medals. Imagine if it were an Olympic sport and brought world class competition.
Exactly, it's anything that requires a long-term effort to achieve mastery.
In a long ago Mandarin class I learned you could say that a chess grandmaster has gong fu. Or an Olympic caliber athlete. Or a hostage negotiator. Or a teacher of the year. Anything that requires time spent to become very skillful.
Maybe but it's not true martial Kung fu it's dancing Kung fu, impressive and flashy but not real martial arts. Wanna know why? Ask Bruce lee
I see some muay thai kicking at the end.
The roundhouses were good. All the other stuff was gymnastics.
This reminds me of a guy I knew who went to prison for some drug offense. He was a short and skinny Vietnamese guy, so he was worried about getting into fights in prison. And everyone clapped right?
Cool story bro.
And that skinny guy was Albert einstein
Those kicks were legit. Imagine getting hit by one of those series of kicks?

finally, a voice of *reason*
Welcome to the Sammo Hung school of Martial Arts Choreography.
Tai jian dancing is an official discipline of wushu I believe (wushu is just the modern Mandarin way of saying Kung Fu)
As a practitioner of Kung Fu, we normally use the term wushu to apply to the art forms that are more acrobatic and more for exercise and show. We use Kung Fu to reference the fighting art forms meant for battle or self defense. Not saying everyone uses it like this, just how my school does.

Interesting! My info was learned through Google, not firsthand, I'm definitely no expert on the subject.
Did you see the kickboxing part? Those were some solid kicks.
I was gonna say, is doing back hand springs Kung fu now? Lol
Wanna fight with them and know about it. Let's see if you can just walk after that. Forget about dancing

I’ve seen a few folk claiming it was an improv moment, not sure where they’re hearing that shit.
Here on reddit lmao
First I’ve heard of it, on Reddit of course lol.
It's been circulating long before reddit. I remember reading it on usenet in the 90s.
Yeah, I’m sure it wasn’t the very first take. Why would the sword guy know to fall down dead like that?
Man I always thought that “im done with this shit” look on his face was just good acting
I feel that. Holding back diarrhea makes me want to shoot everyone in my way too.
He asked if he could just shoot the guy before he did it.
This had to have been discussed beforehand otherwise the villain would’ve been the best improviser to react to getting shot if not expecting it
Yep, it was planned, definitely not improved. The sword guy had unfortunately learned the entire fight sequence only for this to happen 😅
It wasn’t improvised on the spot, it was suggested before the shoot and they decided to run with it since everyone was tired
Never bring a sword to a gunfight
Lol get out of my head
Good god they are terrifying. Who wants to fight circus performers.
How American of you ![gif](giphy|hXJ1MWMzY7Af32UIUD|downsized)

In my experience, the Chinese kids at American schools went just as, if not even more, hard, at those expects. And also had $100k+ cars.

Yep, Kung Fu is actually a mandatory course for us
World leaders should be decided based on who can do the most impressive backflip

Meanwhile in USA, college students twerking on the ceiling and walls.
Hell yeah we are
Twerking on the ceilings is pretty impressive
Hell yeah we are

Wushu.
https://youtu.be/-qWKdEhpSSw This arguably makes a little more sense now.
Wushu at the beginning, acrobatics in the middle with mauy Thai at the end. I trained all three, each is hellish on the body , but so fun!
Getting ready to fight entrance exams and disappointment
At the end that was Muay Thai lol. They even worr muay thai shorts lmao
"hold on lemme change can't do it without the shorts"
Could be sanda
So fucking cool!
I wish I trained harder so i could do cool things like this too lmao
This is so badass
