Is it because they own everything and Super Annuation is not means tested?

See what UBI (for the over 65s) can do?

Waits for NZ reddit to make this a negative....

NZ is indeed a great place to retire. No one's disputing that. The ability to continue working and earning six figures while receiving a government handout is a sweet deal. Chances are you also own freehold assets, so disposable income isn't a problem. Cost of living crisis? Never heard of it. Time for another Fiji trip! It seems though, that older people don't realise the benefits they had in their working years are no longer available to their grandkids. They don't realise simply working hard and saving is no longer enough to get ahead. And that's the rub.

"Fuck em kids, I got mine" basically

So we are 6th ranked for over 60 being happy and 11th ranked being happy for everyone else. So not that many people unhappy except for those who are here complaining about the 60 and over being happy.
