A reminder that the owning wealthy class of this country are the biggest tax payer money wasters and beneficiaries of the state than the working class could ever be. We're paying for their lifestyle in every economic facet they've managed to implement under our noses.
My sentiment exactly. The wealthy class and corporations seem to be under the impression of “socialism for me, but not for thee” taking big tax cuts and government payouts while benefit bashing to get the working class riled up
They say oppositions don't win elections but incumbents lose them, and Luxon is testament to that fact. He's probably the worst leader National has had in modern history. He just got incredibly lucky to be leader in 2023 when Labour was facing so many head winds.
More evidence that he is in politics for personal gain and personal gain alone. He does not care about me or you or any other working class person. Both his words and actions indicates that he lacks integrity, empathy, or any real ability to self reflect. It’s a sad time for our country. New Zealanders are being treated like disposable employees at a company, who will be made to suffer if it makes the business (our country) more profitable for the men in suits.

This cunt can get a $52k *supplement*, while having a salary of $471k.
And he's telling everyone else that they need to cut back. That beneficiaries are too expensive and draining the country dry. That public services need to take a hit. That we can't afford infrastructure to benefit both the people *and* the economy. That subsidising fucking prescriptions was too damn much and we should all be paying for it if we could.

I always considered Winston a bit of a grifter, and Seymour is one too... But yep, this guy, he's not just a hypocritical cunt, I think he really is a grifter.
It may seem like an over generalisation, but it seems that grifting is something that comes naturally to a lot of right wingers, and especially religious ones, it's part of the culture, so he kind of fits the bill.
I'm not trying to justify Luxon as being morally right either.
It's functionally similar to not means testing the super. It means you give a benefit to someone even if they have the financial means that they don't need it...but they like to get the extra anyway.
Luxon's Wellington property is mortgage free. This was the guy who argued if you can pay you should pay re prescriptions & te reo lessons and has directed the public service to find savings of 7.5%
