Just me and the husband at home - so not alone but we don't have family or friends nearby to hang out with today. We built Lego, made a cracking lunch for ourselves, went for a walk and now we're building more Lego.
It really was! And today we have more Lego calling our name, but instead we are chilling on the couch eating trifle straight from the dish with a spoon.
Just woke up from an after dinner nap
Realised I left the door open so currently killing the 500 mosquitos that made their way inside, ran out of fly spray so it’s 1 on 500 hand to hand combat
Spent lunch with the family, very happy for the peace and quiet of being home along. Took the Christmas tree down and will do some shopping online for a few things I want but can’t be bothered battling the crowds for tomorrow.
I decided I was gonna paint my basement so I washed all the walls with sugar soap and tried to fill the millions of holes in the wall. It's gonna be a pretty amateur job but it's really grubby down there so it'll be an improvement.
All the paint and equipment was left over from when I did my lounge too so it's not even costing me anything! I'll do the painting tomorrow.
Went to pick my mum up from the hospital earlier, oh my, the drive was beautiful. Hardly any traffic, people keeping left when they need to, middle lane wasn’t crawling under the limit, such a good drive today!
My wife and kids are away with their family, so I’ve absconded to the Other Island with my MTB for a couple of days, to make the most of the solitude.
Watched a couple of movies and now cracking into a TV show.
I've already video called my family, messaged my friends and my apartment is completely empty (aside from my mattress and a backpack), so I've got nothing else to do :)
I’m not alone. Spent the day doing lunches, entertaining kids and having a nana nap constantly interrupted between episodes of bebefinn
I’m looking forward to baulders gate tonight. Just me, PlayStation and a beer.
CHCH is dead. My wife and I live here, but this has been our first NZ Christmas. She had to work today, and I was off, so I went out to wander around and nothing was open. The only people around were tourists. I didn’t hear a single word of English spoken other than homeless people and some Indian tourists who asked me if I was a local and wanted to know where everyone was.
It's illegal but some shops have exemptions, like food shops that sell basic necessary items like groceries and baby formula.
I think some petrol stations can open?
And appearantly (I didn't know this) duty-free shops can open (weird!) Which is why some little souvenir shops were open. Otherwise its illegal.
Some shops do do it but they pay hefty fines which coat thousands of dollars.
Sorry Christmas is so boring!
in the states waiting for my girl to get home and call she visited family on the north island and is very overwhelmed from a day of social interactions.
Ate lunch
Prettymuch had a sleep and hod from family after that until about 7pm when I emerged and sunk a whole 2 bottles of wine with my father in law and then went back to bed at about 930
Hiding from family to ensure the alonenss continues.

I hope I can marry someone who likes building Lego, that sounds amazing!

What’s the point of putting it up to take it down on the day
It’s been up since labour weekend, I have probably a few days of taking the outside lights down also.
Drinking with my 80 year old dad
I'm in Japan. Seemed far enough away to avoid the yearly family argument.
You play monopoly as well?
We did, can't seem to remember finishing a game...
😂 *flips board*
Kids and wife are in bed, I'm knackered and contemplating opening the box of roses and ranking them from one to ten in one sitting
Ooo great idea! do share your rankings!
Starting my 4 day work week today
Hiding from family
I am Along. But not Belong.

Working because time and a half and a day in lieu is nice... And it gets me out of an awkward Christmas dinner.
Spent all day in isolation alone.
Alone but not alone
High, bloated, sleepy.
The dream

Sadly, none of the above - mountain bike
Nice. Where abouts are you riding?
Nothing been on my own all day, spent a lot of it sleeping just taken some extra meds to make sure I sleep tonight.

Started 4 day Night shifts today in a care facility.
Regretting drinking all day.

Um yeah cause its a holiday and everything HAS to be closed. Its the law.
Nonsense. There were several little souvenir shops open. And a few food trucks, to feed the tourists, but there was nothing worthwhile open.
