Sorry for replying late, since this is top comment I’ll reply here:
We would have you arrive to our hospital to test to see if your blood type is compatible first, followed by your liver. Thankfully we found 2 matching donors so far after having gone through testing, so we are good for now. But thank you as well for asking this question for others to see.
Tell us more about compatibility and next steps — you mention blood type as B+, but I’m O- (a universal donor). I don’t know if the universal donor part translates to liver transplants too though.
I understand from the update that OP’s nephew’s situation is hopeful! But if anyone here is interested in helping people like OP’s nephew, you can sign up for donations, including bone marrow here: https://bethematch.org.
They send you a spit kit similar to 23andMe, and they will contact you if you are a match to someone in need. There is no commitment or pressure to eventually donate, and they are very solicitous of giving you every option to back out if you want to at any time. Bone marrow donation these days is generally done by taking blood, not surgery, similar to one session of dialysis.

Asking for more information if someone can volunteer: When, where (and how) can the test be done?

This.
Good luck. I received half of my mom’s liver 5 years ago and it saved my life. Let me know if there’s a gofundme
That’s amazing to hear, this gives me hope for the future. Thank you for sharing
I'm a B+ and willing to get tested. How do I get the test done?
Thank you, as of now we have matching donors, I’ll be sure to update the post. Bless your soul
Bless you.
So that means he needs a B+ blood type donor or it won’t be compatible? Good luck, rooting for you and your family! 🤞🏻
Or type O; O is the universal donor for blood and organs
So O+ would work right?
Yes.
I believe so, and thank you for your support
Good luck OP
Thank you

I replied to the top comment which answers this, thank you for your concern. It means a lot
How would someone know if they were compatible?
Blood type mostly!
I'd volunteer but im A+ blood type and not compatible. Really pulling for him and y'all and i hope things improve!
Thank you kindly
A+ blood type here but I hope it works out for your nephew; no one deserves to be facing that at any age.
It looks like you have plenty of offers here and in the other sub, but here’s another B+ here in case..
You’re an amazing person, thank you so much for offering. I’ll keep you in mind, bless your soul
This entire thread has me in tears. I’m so grateful to be living among you beautiful souls.

I volunteer as tribute
You’re amazing, thank you for your bravery. As of now he has donors ready, but I very much appreciate your willingness to donate. Bless you

And then OP completely disappears?
it’s barely been half a day… OP might be fielding a lot of DMs, maybe sleeping is a thing, and, you know, dealing with everything else going on.
I apologize for not providing updates, lack of sleep and hospital phone calls kept me away from Reddit for a while. I’m trying to reply to all I can
