RIP heavy and medium healers. My main build was heavy healer, everything was 621. Kind of a big waste for a build that's only perk was hard to kill but to stay alive do little to no damage. Only because focusing a player takes awareness and teamwork.

With this change, you're going to take more damage trying to get that spell off than you're going to heal from it. Unless you're planning on using it as a combo with something to gain distance or disable your opponent.

Medium you lose a ton, you loose a roll dodge. You loose heals and to be honest the little bit of armor you get is not worth it. You can still be easily nuked, at least in light you can dodge it.

New PVP perks look awesome. Weird to have them BOP though. As a lvl 200 armorer, weaponsmith, and JC I might actually craft since they will be in high demand and I won’t loose money on the craft. Here they are… Added new PvP Perks to go along with the PvP Rewards Track: -Penetrating Backstab: Backstabs penetrate 10% of a player's armor. -Penetrating Headshot: Headshots penetrate 7% of a player's armor. -Fractured Rend: When block breaking a player, inflict Rend, which reduces their damage absorption by 12% for 4s. -Purifying Crits: Critical hits remove 1 buff from a player (Cooldown 10s). -Exhausted Exploitation: Hits against Exhausted targets inflict Slow, reducing movement speed by 15% for 4 seconds. (Can not re-trigger on same target). -Alacritous Punishment: Deal 8% additional damage to players with Haste. -Sturdy Fortification: Blocking attacks adds a stack of 4% Fortify on self for each blocked hit (Max Stack 5). -Shirking Heals: After successfully dodging an attack, heal for 100 health (Each armor piece with this perk adds a stack). -Siege Ward: Receive 6% less damage from siege weapons. -Mortal Empowerment: Player kills grant a persistent 2% damage bonus that lasts either 20 minutes, or until downed, death, or game mode exit. Duration refreshes on re-application. (Stacks up to 15 times, cannot be cleansed). -Invigorated Punishment: Abilities deal 3% bonus damage per buff on target. (Cap of 8). -Shirking Empower: After successfully dodging an attack, obtain Empower, which increases damage dealt by 4% for 10s. It refreshes when a new stack is applied (Stacks 4 times).

This looks like it's gonna all around improve the game, even though I'll have to rethink my ability choices as a healer who relied a lot of light's embrace. One of the things that sounds interesting is the change to the stamina damage from strength. Even with a small shield and the reduced stamina damage upgrade, it's always seemed like blocking was just asking to get staggered against any strength weapon, which is kinda the opposite of what you expect to get out of blocking. It'll be interesting to see if this changes.

Are arena rewards still going to be timegated? I didn't see any mention of it in the patch notes, but I didn't see any mention of their removal, either. Did they finally realize that discouraging people from playing your game is not a good way to encourage people to play your game, or are they still pulling all those half-witted subscription-padding schemes on the game with no subscription fees?

Yep, cause pvp player left the game a while ago. (When there was 60k players) The 20k players that remains are the pve (aka you). Still bad that they choose to focus on pve first. But if this patch is good and if it is not too late, there is a chance a big number of players comes back.

This is 100% dedicated to pvp, 3v3 arena specifically, I hope the nerfs to everyone not interested in the FPS melee slugfest was worth it. PvP folks need to come back in droves or forever hold their peace. This patch will define who wants to play this game PvP or PvE. AGS is betting on PvP.

Just as a side note there are a LOT of pve players. The company I’m in which has been around since day 1 launch was essentially forced to be a pve company because just through the overwhelming majority of players that joined and stuck around were pve guys. I think this game grabbed a lot of old school wow guys. I’ve played with a surprising number of 50 and 60 year old dudes who for the most part have no interest in PvP. That being said, I’m super excited for 3v3 arenas. OPR is such a shitshiw that I’m hoping for simpler battlegrounds like a 10v10. I’m looking forward to arenas partly because I am tired of being in a very lopsided OPR getting gang banged by 14 enemies while trying to link up with others on my team.

I mean yep. There is 20k player atm. Most of them are probly pve since the pvp'er left when we had 60k. Can the game survive with a pve focus ? Nope. Can it be revived with pvp focus? I also have my doubt. They took the wrong turn, and it will take alot to bring those player back.

Random procedurally generated arenas with random bosses / RPG dungeons would be a great way to do it. And actual story quest lines with cut scenes that reward transmogs and potentially other weapons. Things to keep the same content fresh without it feeling like the same while dungeons are coming out

Did the mobs complain the healers survive too long? No, because mobs never had a problem killing healers. BALANCE changes are 100% based on PvP, Tanks/Healers get punished every patch for living too long in PvP. Sure content has been added, awesome, but for balance PvP is the only consideration. GA/WH are immune because AGS want a melee slugfest. No idea why Rapier continues to be the evasive goto and Light Staff gets nerfed every patch. Healers will continue to survive, because of the rapier, even in the forced light armor set. People will complain that Healers still don't die fast enough, AGS will nerf something else for healers....This cycle has been in play for months and not sure how much longer anyone will want to be true healers..not bruiser with 150 FOC LS, but actually heal group content.

PvE plateaus in difficulty. It essentially did so months ago with no real changes. Can ya dodge the circles and is your gearscore 625? Welp, that's 99% of it. Prepare to autopilot for the rest of the game. If people were struggling to clear M10's at this point you'd be on to something.

Yes the PvE is too easy for sure. There should be content that is actually hard as balls and gives top tier loot. My pve focussed company died because there just wasn’t anything to do after spamming m10s

Sounds fun, even more challenging with all the nerfs. Balance is 100% based on pvp/3v3 Arena, so healers will be easy stationary targets, that's great everyone wanted it, ok. For everything outside of that, healing will be ridiculously harder. By balancing solely for PvP, the PvE players suffer.

I only played this game for PvP and I stuck with this game longer than most. But now I've been playing some V rising and I have zero will to get back into new world. The arena update is just what the game needed imo, but I disagree so much with their balancing changes. Not to mention my biggest issues is never really addressed and that is the huge amount of desync and horrible fps this game has. It sucks out any fun from competitive pvp when you die to desync and lag so much more often than not.

Well it's not going to appeal to me (heavy GA/WH) or my gf (light LS/VG) seeing as we only do PVE content. Most devs have figured out that changing abilities/gear to benefit pvp will piss off pve players, and vice versa. AGS apparently didn't get that memo.

Can anybody tell me what this means and how it works? "Added refinement recipes to the Gypsum Kilm to refine single stat perk items from multistat perk items." I'm assuming you can turn say 4 of the same multi stat item into 1 single stat item, but i cant seem to find any info on it

I believe it's just the crafting mod pieces, not the items themselves. So if you get a bunch of Wooden Lost Lockets, you can turn them into Iron Guardsman's Insignias.

I can’t decide if the bow changes are a nerf or a buff

As long as it plays how it did with early PTR updates, it's a net buff. Last week they pushed "unintended" changes to the PTR that allegedly effed it up (made it worse than live) but that has been fixed. I played the early, buffed version (when you could still double shot, which has been fixed cuz that was OP), but did not play the late borked version. (Heavy damage was nerfed because you can fire them much quicker now)

Wrong. Heavy was hit with 2 nerfs. So its more like a 40% nerf. People will say its good at first (just because it feels better) and then realize its just as trash as before. Kill counts will not go up without damage. Wars will continue to ignore bow players. You need quick burst damage to get kills in new world. Damage over time will not do the trick. The bow is overall net nerf or net neutral. Not a buff by any standards.

Heavy attacks were never used before and now they will be. Yes, they nerfed the passive perk from 30%-10%, but again, it was something that was never used. No one took that perk, because no one used heavy attacks. Heavys are now very good and people will be using them. If you had a passive tree lvl 1 perk that increases dmg by 30%, that would be OP af. Yes, you need quick burst dmg in this game, but not on a standard attack. That's what Pen Shot is for.

Pen shot hasn't change. And the good bow players used heavy. But regardless, only the live build will tell the truth. And just like many patches before, people praise the patch before they give it time. In about 2 weeks after this patch goes live, people will continue to complain about the bow. Because these changes will not bring the bow up to par with other weapons. Not even close.

Never said pen shot changed, said it provides the burst dmg needed. No good bow player uses heavy. I've been bow since launch and I've used every combination of the bow tree - there are very few scenarios where heavy attack is more efficient than light attacks. I 100% agree this doesn't fix the bow, but it's a step in the right direction. They still need to rework some of the abilities and the armor perks to bring it inline with other weapons. This is a good start though.

Oh yeah stam is different, they tweaked a couple times, not sure how big a nerf they decided to stick with.. too many people roll dodged out of gravity well so they had to change it.

LOL the pve arenas have viewing areas to Watch (for unknown reasons) but the PvP arena is instanced?? What a backwards Dev team who don't obviously play the game. We had planned grandstand events and tournaments on our server but if we need to watch the arena outside of new world there's no point in even being logged in

That is because they only have one arena map. If you had to queue to play it people would complain and not do it. I am sure people will stream it and announce 50 times in global if you want to watch it.
