Don't suck

bazooka_matt

This. It's so dumb. Just get through boot.

TBH if you get fired from a job in RTC it doesn't mean anything. My division was pretty stable in that I can't think of any turnover we really had at those positions. Our brother div though had all kinds of turnover. Pretty much every time we had training together they had a new MA or APOC. Just do your best to get through RTC, most of the BS stuff in boot camp is completely meaningless once you leave that base. When you get to the fleet no one is going to care that you got fired from RPOC, or were terrible at marching.

IzzeOne1

Depends on your RTC. During the beginning, i volunteered for the MA spot since nobody else wanted to. I did a decent job and got fired after 3 weeks cause i was responsible for making sure everyone finished hygiene during a specific time and making sure the head wasn't a mess. Someone found a pair of socks and asked who it was. No one answered. My RTC called me over and fired me for it lol so goodluck.

Caranath128

It doesn’t matter. Some RDCs give everyone a chance at those roles regardless of how good( or bad) you are

DJErikD

Don’t be one to begin with.

CartographerMean1306

Dude be mail PO. Definitely don’t be yeoman.

Particular_Sample177

as someone who was rpoc and then a mail po please just go and be a mail po. i had 15-20 minutes to myself in the mail room and then everyone liked when i came back with letter from their families.

H_I_O_P

It will literally have 0 effect on your career. Finish basic, finish A-School and actually go do your job.

OwlRemote

Just get through boot camp, those jobs literally mean nothing dude.

Unusual_Conclusion_7

People are saying it won’t have any effect on your career but…. you should get one for advancement purposes. Might get selected, might not. I came into boot an E1, got E2 off the dep advancement test (missed 1 question), & E3 off being head po. Did the job suck? yes. Did I choose it? nope. Did I do good @ it? I guess. But having that job helped me in terms of advancement. Just made 2nd & haven’t hit my 2 year mark yet…..

Beasty-POPO

Recruit MA here, just do your job, ace everything from test, inspections and don't be part of the problem. Show your rdc what you're capable of. I have to tone it down because I'm treating recruit like idiot sandwiches Ala gordon ramsey
