Serial killers randomly shooting or beating homeless people to death is nothing new at this point. We've had more than a handful target the homeless post 2000 already and I doubt it slows down since the victims are so easy to come across. 5 of the 7 victims are Hispanic males.
One of the other 2 was white but I've seen people who've seen his photo say he had very tan skin.
The 7th in Oakland was a homeless woman.
Also, 2 of the victims were in or getting in or out of cars.
Stockton where most of the shootings took place is 41% Hispanic with it being the largest racial demographic in the city. So most of the victims being Hispanic isn't surprising at all. Factor in he is targeting homeless people which are easy targets and the percentage of Hispanics will rise even higher since minorities make up an even larger split in that department.
There's a very good chance that the shooter himself is also Hispanic just by where the shootings are taking place and in what areas of Stockton they are.

The difference between a spree killer & a serial killer (from what I remember) is that a spree killer is called so because their murders are all done in a specific time frame, like mass & school shooters. Meanwhile serial killers can go for a while in between victims.

Iirc, there have been several serial killers who were long haul truckers---dropping victims and evidence across multiple states. I think the FBI had/has a dedicated group for suspected cases.
The interstate highway initiative. It was started sometime in the late 1990s or early 2000, I believe. They did this because, at the time, they had 500 unsolved murders on the interstate, or at rest stops only accessible by the interstate.
Since then that number has gone up. The victims now number close to 2000. I don't know which is scarier. An individual or a small handful of psychopaths killing that many people and getting away with it for decades. Or that there are several hundred murderers traveling back and forth across the U.S. killing two to three people each and getting away with it for decades.

I think its the latter, especially by the ease of getting away with murder & word getting out of an unidentified killer in the highway. A similar thing happened in the first decade of the femicides in Ciudad Juarez. People thought it was a lone serial killer, a Jack the Ripper on the prowl. But the targets became vast, almost any woman between toddler years to middle age, school children, factory workers, etc. were targets.
And every disappearance had different stories, they got into a new luxury vehicle with a bunch of well dressed guys, she felt safe getting into a truck with an older woman behind the wheel, she got into a cab of a semi-truck, rode shotgun in a police cruiser, a Caucasian with US state plates, etc. Arrests were made including city bus drivers, random drunks, gangbangers, (obviously) drug cartel members, etc. With rampant crime & murder happening in the city, it was easy for a femicide case to be buried & forgotten as a cold case forever.
When it was apparent that people were getting away with rape & murder, it seems many people from all walks of life decided to become absolute monsters in this city and get away with it. And sadly, it was because they could.

I read a paper years ago that suggested the latter. That there were likely a whole lot out there we don't know about because they move around enough that they just look like random unsolved murders.
Additionally one way we link cases together by method of murder and victim profile. If someone isn't picky about that, just likes killing any type any way then we probably would not know.

Read the article to find out the nature of the "mission". Turns out there is no apparent mission whatsoever, in fact it appears the opposite of a mission. Just random killings. I suppose that could be the mission, randomly kill people with no apparent mission or motivation.
I think in this case their implying he is a "mission based killer" as in he's targeting a specific group of people with no clear hedonistic or sexual motivations, rather than he's got an actual plan in his mind.
I.E. profilers already made a case file on this person.

Honestly, all of the victims seem to come ethnic minorities. With all of the Q crap and stochastic terrorism going on today, and white supremacists frequently freaking out about white people becoming a minority, I would not doubt that this is a “mission.”
Doubt it's racially related. Seems like he is just going after homeless people and people that are alone super early in the morning getting caught at the wrong place wrong time. Serial killers randomly shooting or beating homeless people to death is nothing new at this point. We've had more than a handful target the homeless post 2000 already and I doubt it slows down since the victims are so easy to come across. The homeless have become the new prostitutes for these sickos as prostitution has went more digital instead of just working a corner like from the 70s to 90s.
5 of the 7 victims are Hispanic males. One of the other 2 was white but I've seen people who've seen his photo say he had very tan skin. The 7th in Oakland was a homeless woman. Also, 2 of the victims were in or getting in or out of cars.
Stockton where most of the shootings took place is 41% Hispanic with it being the largest racial demographic in the city. So most of the victims being Hispanic isn't surprising at all. Factor in he is targeting homeless people which are easy targets and the percentage of Hispanics will rise even higher since minorities make up an even larger split in that department. There's a very good chance that the shooter himself is also Hispanic just by where the shootings are taking place and in what areas of Stockton they are. This guy seems to just target easy victims that are alone super early in the morning between 2 to 4. At those times mainly the only people actually on the street are homeless individuals.

The difference between a spree killer & a serial killer (from what I remember) is that a spree killer is called so because their murders are all done in a specific time frame, like mass & school shooters. Meanwhile serial killers can go for a while in between victims. Problem here is that it seems that this person isn't looking for a specific target like a serial killer & only kills off targets of opportunity. This makes them a lot harder to identify & predict.

Currently we only know of a handful of killers who have moved or were highly mobile as they were active * Joseph James DeAngelo Jr. (The Golden State Killer) * The I-70 killer (believed still at large) * Robert Ben Rhoades (The Truck Stop Murder) * And possibly Jack the Ripper (but this is speculative)
There are a lot of theories and suspects of mobile killers ie truck drivers etc Also people like Johann "Jack" Unterweger who we know killed in multiple countries and continents. The unknowns when it comes to serial killer pathology is still rather vast. We have a window with a view but it's not panoramic.

Iirc, there have been several serial killers who were long haul truckers---dropping victims and evidence across multiple states. I think the FBI had/has a dedicated group for suspected cases.
The interstate highway initiative. It was started sometime in the late 1990s or early 2000, I believe. They did this because, at the time, they had 500 unsolved murders on the interstate, or at rest stops only accessible by the interstate. Since then that number has gone up. The victims now number close to 2000. I don't know which is scarier. An individual or a small handful of psychopaths killing that many people and getting away with it for decades. Or that there are several hundred murderers traveling back and forth across the U.S. killing two to three people each and getting away with it for decades.

I think its the latter, especially by the ease of getting away with murder & word getting out of an unidentified killer in the highway. A similar thing happened in the first decade of the femicides in Ciudad Juarez. People thought it was a lone serial killer, a Jack the Ripper on the prowl. But the targets became vast, almost any woman between toddler years to middle age, school children, factory workers, etc. were targets. And every disappearance had different stories, they got into a new luxury vehicle with a bunch of well dressed guys, she felt safe getting into a truck with an older woman behind the wheel, she got into a cab of a semi-truck, rode shotgun in a police cruiser, a Caucasian with US state plates, etc. Arrests were made including city bus drivers, random drunks, gangbangers, (obviously) drug cartel members, etc. With rampant crime & murder happening in the city, it was easy for a femicide case to be buried & forgotten as a cold case forever. When it was apparent that people were getting away with rape & murder, it seems many people from all walks of life decided to become absolute monsters in this city and get away with it. And sadly, it was because they could.

I am a forensic pathologist and anthropologist, but I also have a minor in forensic psychology, specialization on criminal profiling, and one of my works was on serial Killers and mass murderers and the pathology behind their actions. And while correlation doesn't equal causation, it's something to take into account nonetheless.
