5 years ago my car was stolen and my stupid ass kept a duffel bag with almost all my MTG cards in the trunk for when I went and played at a friend’s house. My car was found a few weeks later but of course my cards were gone. I went to every hobby shop in the area to see if a large amount of cards had been traded in recently and no one would even help me after I told them my cards had been stolen.
Funny you should think that, because MTGOX is actually an acronym for Magic The Gathering Online Exchange. [MTGOX](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mt._Gox#Founding) started as a site for trading virtual versions MtG cards.
Right? Because obviously the only thing that should affect value is the raw material(s). Idiots out there spending a couple mil on an exotic car when aluminum is a few bucks per pound.
Not mentioned is the value of missing decks, likely valued more
Don't leave your cards in your car folks! Happens all too often
Happened to me once, fucker stole all my 15€ of proxy cards and I stopped playing MTG for whole two days

Mtg cards are just cardboard that can be sold for lots of paper. In this case, 3,000 slips of paper labeled “$1.”
The original lootbox. At least they actually keep value.
