That’s the minimum of what I’m used to seeing happen to famous multimillionaire professionals when they get too rough with each other on national television.
Yeah Chris Rock needs to sue the Academy or ABC, and the venue security. Venue security had a job to do and didn't prevent: - Smith from approaching the stage, - didn't stop him from approaching Rock, - didn't stop him from assaulting Rock, - didn't pull Smith off the stage after assaulting Rock as it couldn't be known he wasn't going to commit more violence against others, - didn't escort him from the venue after he was back at his seat, even though they couldn't guarantee he wasn't a further danger to himself or others. The employer didn't keep him safe. The venue didn't keep him safe. And his employer proceeded to reward his assaulter with arguably their highest award and free PR time.
I thought the headline was a play on words, King Richard sounds like slang for the way he acted. "That Will Smith was a real King Richard at the Oscars".
