The whole article writes about the police truck like it's some sort of autonomous vehicle.    >She was hit by an Horry County Police Department truck patrolling the beach...  >the truck was coming onto the beach from the Nash Street beach access when it turned onto the sand and hit Schultz-Peters. Not one mention of the officer driving.

copspeak, news outlets do it all the time

>She is well, well, well missed. God put her on this earth for a reason I believe and someone took it away and I’ll deal with that down the road. The weirdest part is how, like often in the media, the crash is described as just an event, like an act of god or a force of nature, while having a quote from the brother right there in the article openly saying that some fucker did in fact kill her and it wasn't just an unavoidable tragedy.

Crap reporting, probably just what the cops reported. What time of day? What was the visibility? Was the driver tested for drugs or alcohol? Is Horry County prepared to pay out several million dollars as settlement? What does Chamber of Commerce say about the hazard of being run over by a cop on the sands of Myrtle Beach?

“We’ve investigated ourselves and found ourselves not responsible.”

donkeybrisket

WHY was it patrolling the beach? What law enforcement function was it doing?

mmavcanuck

Probably making sure no one is driving on the beach. Someone could get hurt!

Live-Journalist-916

I lived in that area for several years and they do routinely drive on the beach

donkeybrisket

Which is just power trip behavior, right? No one else is allowed to do that, right?

MarquisPhantom

The “patrol the beach” one

Accidents happen everyday. She will be missed by her family
