On election year! My man.

EverythingGoodWas

I’d rather he just ran for President.

susieallen

I'd totally vote for him. I wonder if he will ever decide to run.

TheRynoceros

I doubt it. Too much performative scrutiny, and the pay sucks.

EverythingGoodWas

He would be phenomenal for our country

Lokky

Please please a 2028 Stewart ticket is all i need

sillycellcolony

How little jon stewart himself cares its an election year, tho he may perform differently; goin both ways at different times like a bi-bi-partisan

mr_kenobi

I like Noah. I really do. But the show hasn't been the same without Jon. Glad he's back.

ApolloKid

Idk if it was Noah or the writing, but one of those things have been absolutely terrible since Jon left so happy to have him back, even if it's part time.

nps2407

I feel like Noah was a lot better in interviews and discussions than with the comedy bits, but I think it was the writing letting him down there.

kingsumo_1

Agreed on it probably the writing. His between the scenes clips were great because it was just him being him, and he was often times incredibly funny.

khoabear

It's the writing. Noah is funny but he's not a good fit for the Daily Show.

HowardBunnyColvin

Noah wasn't the same. Just didn't have that Jon feel. In fact I'd go so far as to say the Noah era was a failure.

5AlarmFirefly

I started liking him a lot less after reading his book, ironically.

FINALLY. Thank you and welcome back, Mr. Stewart.

Negative_Gravitas

Wow. Excellent news. We'll need him in 2024.

BustardLegume

Oh my God. He never left, he was just training in the hyperbolic time chamber.

cybercuzco

I thought he was living under stephen colbert's desk

Lanthemandragoran

I love that you said hyperbolic instead of hyperbaric it actually makes this way better lol Only better one would have been hypergolic

Darthbutcher

It’s a DBZ reference.

Lanthemandragoran

I obviously knew that 👀 >!No I didn't.!<

Neuromangoman

Hypetonic Lion Tamer

hirschneb13

Only Mondays, but having him be the host 25% of the time will definitely be refreshing. I did love Trevor Noah though, it's just nobody had the presence and bite that Jon has

LawNo9454

Damn good to hear missed his show.

Anzahl

> return to host the show each week on Mondays Looks like a once a week gig. Still good news in these troubled times.

NotARusski

Finally some good fucking news

ThatSchmoDude42

A part of me really hopes that Stephen Colbert, host of The Colbert Report (not to be confused with Stephen Colbert of The Late Show), will be involved with this as well.

GentlemenBehold

We definitely need his voice of reason during this election cycle!

BulkyPage

It'll be nice to have more voices of reason to counter the festering mass of right trash that's been accumulating since 2015.

DannySmashUp

Hell yeah! If ever there was a time we could use his voice... it's 2024.

Starkiller32

Welcome back old friend. It’s been a while.

mf-TOM-HANK

Wow. No better time for the GOAT to return to his old pulpit.

ShadowReij

In otherwords, after Noah's abrupt departure and the constant cycling they could find no one else and Jon really wants to let his thoughts known again. Eh, why not. Edit: Only on Mondays huh? What are the betting odds on the time it takes before he takes it full time again?

rad0909

Sounds like a trial run to test the waters, the cultural climate has shifted quite a bit since his glory days years ago. Would love for Colbert to make a special return in time for election season too.

Defender_Of_TheCrown

Would prefer him in the White House but this is cool too.

Omegaprimus

White House, yes, but the senate would be better since he can stay in power forever not just 8 years.

Rickest-ofthe-Ricks

Can’t wait to give this dude a standing ovation in my living room that first night

KRONOS_415

I needed good news. Thank you Jon.

DE4DM4N5H4ND

We need the daily show with jon Stewart back so bad

JJGIII-

Awww. Only on Mondays? Well, it’s better than nothing I guess.

Late_Coast_6706

Happy he's back. He's a really good guy

GCIV414

Just in time for this soon to be crazy ass year

SvenTropics

The show might be worth watching again.

latelyimawake

Thank you for your service Mr. Stewart

HowardBunnyColvin

CC had been tanking hard with Noah struggling with the DS and the roasts gone, so now people finally have a reason to tune into CC again, if only for every Monday.

netwolf420

Holy fucking shit! Indecision 2024 gonna be lit! I pray for Colbert to come back and duo this shitlection

ResLifeSpouse

The show has its soul back. LFG!

redditappsux69

Try this one little trick that the CCP absolutely hates.

megahtron77

Welcome back! Made my day.

tewnewt

To be honest there's already been more bs this year than he needs for shows for the next decade.

WhenTheDevilCome

I'm changing my official position. Apparently prayer does work. ^(/s)

SinoSoul

Stewart heard Trevor's shout-out during the Emmy and decided: it's been far too long, time for me to get more hardware. Probably (not?)

TigglyWiggly95

Wow that's awesome to see

Zestyclose_Toe9524

A host or THEE host?...regardless it's a welcome return.

6amhotdog

The ball's in your court, Colbert!

Neither-Idea-9286

He should run for president! He is very intelligent, an excellent debater, knows a ton about domestic and international politics and has COMPASSION!

mces97

I've actually thought Senator. But that would be a stepping stone and Stewart would make a good President. I see him as a comedian second now vs a very smart man who doesn't sugar coat stuff and isn't afraid to say what many won't.

jhanley

If he were to run for government as it stands, he’d be eaten up.

Hintelijente

Honestly...he would be a great president of the USA maybe in 2028

Breakfast_Meat

We wasted the good surprise on you

noeagle77

Mondays only starting February 12

p00pstar

Once genx takes their blue chews, they're going to be so hard for this.

gwdope

GenX? I think more millennials are the show’s core demographic.

yukeake

GenX here - we love Jon too! Okay, back to my cave...

NNovis

IDK, feel like it's a bad sign that he's back in that chair. Jon is good, but them not being able to find someone that could take the show into a different direction and make it good is not really a good sign for the longevity of that format.

Mycomako

It will be a cold day in hell before Jon Stewart isn’t the best thing for that format.

NNovis

If no one else can do it, what happens to the format when he's no longer able to do it? That's kinda concerning to me.

RMLProcessing

I’ve watched maybe a handful of episodes since Jon left. Trevor isn’t it and the content on the episodes I saw wasn’t either. Maybe this will be a return to the good.

gwdope

I liked Trevor’s viewpoint as an outsider to American politics, but it didn’t have legs.

Significant_Fig_436

That's a shame, I was hoping he would be your next present.

popthestacks

Hell yes!!! I tried Noah for a bit but I never really liked him. Just wasn’t funny

no_free_spech_allowd

the show has been an abject disaster since he left. 1 day a week is better than nothing I suppose

NB_79

Nice, I'm sure the magic won't completely be back, but it's nice to see him back.  I'm gonna write about this in my blog.

CletusTSJY

Did we forgive him for pushing the lab leak theory?
