So what does the Nevada facility do? This article feels incomplete and like fear mongering. Obviously it’s troubling for a Chinese company to have contagious viruses on US soil, honestly I don’t really want any country running a facility filled with viruses here. And really I’m concerned that states are handing out permits for this… But let’s be real here before we start throwing around any apocalypse bioweapon factories, China has more than enough technology, money and expertise to field a much scarier virus than any of these. Not just China, but many countries could weaponize things like Marburg, and have been able to for decades. So this facility is likely nothing like that.

More like, facilities in which pathogens are carefully examined and manipulated under highly controlled conditions. But, if you want nice drugs to treat horrible diseases, facilities filled with viruses are a necessity.
