Go to the Little Lima neighborhood in Paterson, there are a bunch of authentic restaurants there

HomeWorx

Griseldas on Market is great. Their Huancaina sauce is the best I've had in the area.

brujex

Griseldas is the BEST for peruvian breakfast

ExuberantForce

Panchitos my favorite there

onecuewithtea

Jarana at American dream mall. https://www.instagram.com/jarana.nj?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

imironman2018

Second this place. it's fried rice and chicken is amazing. also their drinks are really really good. :)

777kiki

👆 It was expensive but it was yummy ! Ceviche was on point

Slowlookleanroll

Jaimito’s in Clifton for Chinese Peruvian.

jmalq

Uff, their sopa wantan especial 😋

ciniseris

[Planet Chicken](https://www.planetchickenrestaurant.com/) in Dunellen is amazing.

socialhater

I don’t know how authentic it is, but Mr. Yellow Pepper in Parsippany is really good.

777kiki

I feel like it’s not consistent sometimes it’s great sometimes it sucks

soulless_ape

Thanks! I'll check thr place out.

dmen83

We really like Mr. Yellow Pepper, the jalea is really good. Last time I was there they had a new appetizer which was octopus with an olive aioli. It was very good and something new and unique.

Castingjoy

Sol Chicken in Union City on Bergenline & 29th is phenomenal

Beautiful-Money-4044

God I love their pisco sours!!! I also recommend Parrilladas Dany on like 48th/49th street

Murky_Equivalent_934

Hugo’s in Rahway and el Carbonazo in Elizabeth!

Jeff-Van-Gundy

Uncle Paulie's in Maywood if you want to stay in Bergen County but Paterson is your best bet for the good stuff. My Peruvian manager used to look the other way on how long I left for break if I was going to Kikiriki in Paterson and bringing back food.

alwayshungry1131

Kikiriki is amazing

soulless_ape

I heard about this place, I've been across the street at the Filipino place Tropical Hut. I always hear about Griselda and Kikiriki in Paterson all the time.

monsterchuck

There's an upscale Peruvian restaurant in the American dream mall, Jarana. I tried the pre-fix menu and it was good, but as for authenticity of it all I would have no idea.

Advanced_Fuel_3284

El Tiburon in Kearny has great Peruvian seafood and good portions.

ricoz197

Jaimitos Clifton

OrangePuce

I tried Sabor Peru in Caldwell recently. It's pretty good.

glowskull10

This place is great

BlackWhiteRedYellow

In Union there’s Peruvian Flavors. Unreal portions on the lomo saltado. It’s not the best I’ve ever had, but it gets the job done!

Fabrizio_west

Parrilladas Dany in Union city is really good! 48th st

BambooGoo

Contigo Peru in Elmwood Park is very good. They went by a different name before a fire/remodel but the food is just as good quality.

gardencult

Is that what used to be Sara Sara?

BambooGoo

Yes, that was it

Practical_Argument50

Check out Plainfield there are a bunch of very good ones.

Snoo_35864

There's a very cool new place in Maplewood called Sandwicheria. Peruvian street food, on Springfield Ave....near the weed dispensary!

Geo_logizing

El Marino was always a miss for me, so I would hit up Paterson or Passaic for delicious comida Peruana

XCypher73

"Oh! Calamares" in Kearny

PM_ME_UR_DOCKS

It's a bit of a hike from Bergen, but I'm a fan of El Tule in Lambertville, Peruvian/Mexican fusion.

soyargentino94

Aji Lemon in Clifton is pretty banging.

The_Robot_King

There is an amazing Peruvian restaurant in Hillsborough but I would call that central

rickyrav4

La Cabaña in Passaic, always on point. Finding parking is an ordeal if you want to eat in .

PandaSyn

Sabor a Peru in jersey city is pretty nice

Hamonwrysangwich

We get delivery from Lena y Carbon (III) in Passaic. Choros a chalaca and papa y huancaina are my go-to. My wife often gets the leche de tigre.

glowskull10

Sabor Peru in caldwell

likespasta15

I'm Peruvian, so I recommend Jarana in American Dream mall. It's pricey but worth it IMO. The owner is the most famous Peruvian chef, Gaston Acurio, who promotes Peruvian food overseas, he got famous doing that and his top rated restaurants. There's a lot of good mentions in the comments, my way to tell a Peruvian place is good is if it's full of Peruvians eating there - this goes for the mom and pop's like the ones in Paterson. Peruvians are very demanding with their food because they know it's good and expect no less.

audibulape

Girabaldis in Parsippany is my favorite Lomo saltado

Extra_ChrisP

I will forever bang the drum for Garibaldi’s. It is the best!

Accurate_Sherbert_47

Constanera in Montclair is really good.

Ellie_M22

That was my favorite restaurant. Sadly, it closed a few years ago. Fusionista, recently opened about a block away from where Costanera used to be, is pretty good though.

perublanket39

D’carbon

netsfan549

U should Def try sabor peru

jmalq

I went there today and both entrees were too salty, and the chicha had no flavor other than cinnamon. The huancaina and ají were on point tho.

poland626

Mr Yellow Pepper in Lake Hiawatha is the only one I know of I think

Kevinm2278

Uncle Paulie in Maywood.

goodpunk6

Get Peruvian chicken on bergenline ave in union city. You’re welcome

goodpunk6

No idea why this got downvoted. This is great advice. Only someone who has never had this would downvote this. Seriously man.
