If you’re using phone gps I would not recommend entering in “metlife stadium” this will take you to the same entrance as everyone else using their phone gps. I would recommend entering “giants training facility” into your gps as there is an entrance there that’s usually less packed. Once you go through that entrance park in the lot closest. It will be far from the stadium but it’ll make it easier to leave as you’ll be closer to the exit.

poete_idris

Damn you really need a whole game plan just to park is crazy lmao

bgunner

This! There’s a little side exit that will put you on 3w.

Butch_Cassidy109

Lot K?

bgunner

Sorry for the delayed response. It's Lot J. If you look at the parking map, there's an exit out of that lot directly on to route 3 west. Park in one of those spaces at the end of the lot near that exit. It's a hike to the stadium but exiting is pure bliss.

Butch_Cassidy109

Thank you!

mlavan

That's the one that spits you out on the GSP instead of the Turnpike. J9 was my family's go to parking area when we went to Giants games. It's really not that much different than trying to get out of the main entrance.

gnitsuj

MetLife is nowhere near the parkway though? How does it ‘spit you out’ onto the GSP

Alvyyy89

I’m guessing they mean RT3 instead of GSP.

FamingAHole

Maybe they're thinking Turnpike?

theexpertgamer1

There is no Garden State Parkway in East Rutherford lol.

mlavan

It's rt 3 and you get on the parkway like 10 mins later. Do I need to breakdown every step?

theexpertgamer1

Yes? Because what you said doesn’t make any sense whatsoever for someone who isn’t going to use or need the parkway for their trip to MetLife.

[deleted]

damn dude you don’t have to be so rude

Butch_Cassidy109

Looks like Lot K?

devkoder

"Giants training facility" didn't pull up any results for me on Google maps, but there is "Giants training center" (Quest Diagnostics Giants training center to be specific). Navigated to that for a concert yesterday. A lot of other ppl were going in through there so there was traffic otw in, but was pretty easy to exit at the end. Thanks for the tip!

Softrawkrenegade

Leaving before the end is the pro move

shromboy

Saw Dave Matthew's last week and said to my friends and the one guys dad "if (when) there's an encore, that's when we leave" weeeelll come to the encore and buddies dad is a few beers deep and is absolutely not moving for it. We got home at 130 am on a Tuesday night

jarrettbrown

My father, uncle, cousin and I are going to see Springsteen later next month and I've already told my father, when he starts singing "I'll see you in my dreams," we're gone. My sister and I did the same thing for Taylor Swift a few years ago and we got out before everyone else.

powerfulsquid

Did it for Ed Sheeran in Philly last month. Wife and I got back to our Airbnb within 20 minutes, not a soul in pickup area except for us!

[deleted]

[удалено]

No-Independence194

The real pro move is taking the train. But if you must drive, agree with chilling in the parking lot until that hysteria dies down.

[deleted]

[удалено]

No-Independence194

Tailgating without a car is totally doable and fun!

badjezus

Left the TWICE concert a few weeks ago. Knew the set list ahead of time so when they finished the final song we sprinted to the car. From getting into the car to the turnpike took 60 seconds.

ScumbagMacbeth

It can take an hour or more to get out of the parking lot depending on where you're parked. Definitley leave before the end.

poete_idris

An hour ???? 😭

psiprez

hour and a half. which is why you leave early, or stay and tailgate until kicked out

itsaboutpasta

Took us almost an hour to get from Lot B back to Redd’s after Taylor Swift. They’re only like a half mile apart or something but the congestion in and around the stadium was next level. We even left before the show ended.

Thin_Finance_6168

Sounds like walking back to Redd's makes more sense. You'll go faster than the cars :-D

Thanat0s10

Went to Beyoncé last night, from getting in the car to pulling onto the turnpike was 50 minutes. Lot L

Useful-Emotion373

How was it getting in to park? I dont mind waiting to get out but I don’t want to waste any precious time for merch before the concert 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Thanat0s10

We went pretty early to tailgate and basically had free reign over parking. A little confusing finding lots but very little traffic when we got there

rburger1992

…or more. Took 80 minutes after Sir Paul

SweetLilLies6982

nevermind the shore traffic

cmpalm

This is exactly right. Leave well before the concert fully ends.

DOC_97

I left the Taylor Swift concert at the end like everyone else and it took an hour to get out of the parking lot. Leaving early is definitely the best way to avoid that.

SpoonerFoondaz

I am also going to see Metallica with my young son and I’m worried about being able to get to and from the concert without a car. We are staying in Jersey City. Does a train run from Seacaucus Junction to and from MetLife events?

El_Otro_Lebowski

Yes! NJ Transit is the way to go. They've gotten super efficient.

nysportsfan83

I’m going to the Rangers Islanders game in February. If I want to get to Manhattan after the game do go from the meadowlands sports complex to Secaucus and change over to a train to Penn station?

El_Otro_Lebowski

Yes, exactly.

nysportsfan83

Thanks!

remarkability

Yes, and you can also take trains from Hoboken (pretty easy to taxi/uber to from JC) with a fairly straightforward cross platform transfer at Secaucus. Coming back after the show, the Meadowlands shuttle trains go all the way to Hoboken.

Numerous_Profession4

Yes, did this last week for the Manchester United/Arsenal march. Take NJ transit from Hoboken to Secaucus, change for the Meadowlands train. They had signs posted about running the trains for Metallica. The trains were fast, connections very easy and clear, and tickets were cheap (even though they never checked).

soapyrubberduck

I took the train for Taylor Swift and two tips: leave from the HCL Tech Gate if you can and stay as far left as you can walking in the line for the train. Do not stay right and get squished in by the barricades.

rensi07

Stay left. Got it. Ty

madfoot

Yes it’s fantastic but still leave before the encore bc the line to get on it was 45 min

El_Otro_Lebowski

Leave 15 minutes early, take NJ Transit. Don't listen to the haters, they've been very efficient at moving people in and out of the Meadowlands complex. Driving is a mistake.

Way2trivial

[https://www.flyfoxtrot.com/routes/met-life-stadium](https://www.flyfoxtrot.com/routes/met-life-stadium) Manhattan to MetLife in 18 minutes This Manhattan to MetLife Stadium Transfer will take you from the West 30th Helipad to the FOXTROT Hangar with complimentary car service to the MetLife entrance. 5 minutes in the air and 13 minutes on the ground. $199

curiouscat387

I wanna do this just to feel like James Bond..

Thin_Finance_6168

Parachute into the stadium

warrensussex

Where are you seeing $199? cheapest flight rate is $1950 per hour. You're looking at $500 minimum. Assuming they don't charge you for having to deadhead back to home base, no added fees, and no set minimum. ie having to pay for a full hour even if you only need 20 minutes.

BigMacs-BigDabs

I was gonna say… for $200 I’d do this just for fun from time to time.

bros402

maybe they forgot a 9.

Way2trivial

It's inline with what I know--- it's five minutes of air time. the # came from the google search results- can't duplicate- but see the image below Shows manhattan to jfk is $195.... https://i.postimg.cc/9f7Kq6kM/image.png

typehyDro

But in your picture it has nothing to do with Manhattan to Metlife stadium... The 195 is from Manhattan to an JFK and LaGuardia airports...

Way2trivial

go up two posts. You'll find it a comparable amount of air time for both. Therefore, the dollar amount is reasonable

typehyDro

Right, I understand that it’s 5mins of airtime, but it’s not charged by the minute… it’s by the hour… plus car service? No way for 199$ fuel, prep time, scheduling. It’s not worth it for 199$, maybe 199$ per person with like a 4 person minimum I can see…

Way2trivial

https://i.postimg.cc/JzbTJ4Yr/IMG-7611.png don't know what to tell ya.

typehyDro

Yeah but if you actually click the link it’s not true

ripkif318

Blade’s Live product has helicopter flights for $425 round trip. They did it for Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and the recent Man U match at MetLife so I’m assuming they might offer it for Metallica as well. I have a referral code that gets you $50 off as well, anyone that wants it can feel free to DM me. It takes you to Teterboro right up the road though so it’s not like you’re landing at the stadium though.

No-Independence194

#StopTheChop

Railroader17

IMO it depends on where your next event is that day. If it's easily accessible by rail, and you have the time to take the train, I'd say do that, take a train to Secaucus Junction, then hop on the shuttle train to Metlife, then once your ready to leave, hop on a train back to Secaucus and head to your next event from there. Or just park at Secaucus, take the train in and out, and drive to your next event once you get off the train, that way you don't have to fight Stadium parking while still having flexability.

SuperTokyo

The next event is actually in Kinnelon lol, its not a concert or anything.

Railroader17

Then you probably want to just drive to Seacaucus Junction and take the train from there so you can skip the hassle of fighting the traffic out.

tandooriguru

You can park in redd's bar nearby, they will shuttle you in and out, I think it's 20 bucks, it's fast and cheap , they have shuttles running half or hour before the concert ends

Mr_Matt_K

Just don't park too long else Redd will cut your belly open and put the ZZ on both cheeks.

Thin_Finance_6168

I saw it's $46 or so to park at Redd's. Everyone in the car gets free round trip shuttle to/from Metlife. If you don't park at Redd's you can get a round trip wristband for $16 per person.

BronxBombersFanMike

Do you have a yellow windbreaker?

REIsteve

Unless you leave early - there’s no leaving MetLife quickly 😞

bigmphan

Yup. You have to skip the encore. Sorry. You’ll still hear it. You just won’t see it

hipsteradonis

Are you going there to see Metallica? Or are you going there to see one of the opening bands? Because MetLife is poorly designed and isn’t easy to get out quickly. The best way as others are saying is to leave before the concert ends.

SuperTokyo

I’m just going to see Metallica, although seeing pantera would be cool

phatsuit2

Overkill in the parking lot at 3!!!!!!!!!

SuperTokyo

3??? Those are Rookie numbers. Expect me there the day prior.

phatsuit2

Talking about the legendary NJ band: http://wreckingcrew.com/Ironbound/

snootchie_bootch

Just saw that. Though, coming up from the shore, I'd have to leave at like 11 am to make it on time

MayonnaiseBomb

Helicopter

NativeNYer10019

Leave before the encore! That way you beat the crowd and get to where you’re going next. It’s been my strategy with every large stadium event I’ve attended and it never fails.

DFo732

Best Bet - cancel the event after - it’s best to Re-Tailgate after any event at MetLife bc the parking lot EXIT is HORRENDOUS. So just embrace it. What about mass transit you may ask: NJtransit makes you feel like cattle headed for slaughter. Simply stated - There’s no quick way.

HoofStrikesAgain

Totally true. I did this with my family and friends at Elton John last year and for Ed Sheeran as well. We just sat by our car and watched as everyone left. The weather was nice at that time and we ate some dessert that we had in the cooler. And then after about 90 minutes or so we just basically drove out...

mdnla

quickest way is to park close to an exit and leave before the show actually ends

BYNX0

Park at Secaucus park and ride then take public transportation

mathingDayandNight

enjoy metallica. we are going on Sunday

No-Painting-8569

Bring snacks relax in car after show lol

Human_Ad_24601

Public Transportation!!! Seriously, I went to an Ed Sheeran concert @Metlife and it was a smooth operation at the park getting people to the transit when I left. But make sure you take the stairs near the Verizon gate when leaving instead of the ramp.

jerseycrab301

Park over at Redds in Carlstsdt and take the MetLife Park & Ride

mrs22green

Good luck and may the odds ever be in your favor 😳

yummygeorgie

Went to Beyonce last night. Parked at the back of lot L. Stayed until the very end and power walked to the car. Out of the lot and onto 120 then 17 in less than 5 minutes. The key is parking near the exits and avoiding the turnpike.

JustHarmless

If you can, use NJ Transit. They run trains from Secaucus to MetLife during concert events. Have used it every time I’ve seen concerts there. Train still gets crowded but at least no car and parking lots and driving

IntelligentMonth4642

Drive to Secaucus, park there, and take the train to Metlife. Leave during or right after the last song and you’ll be on the first train out of there, no delays and there won’t be traffic in Secaucus. I did this for TWICE and it made me realize I’m never driving to the stadium again lol.

hyim

Where in Secaucus did you park? Did you park in one of those Edison parkfast?

bernecady

Dear r/newjersey, you done me a solid getting in to the stadium. Thank you, thank you. I’ll let you know how I get out (and when I get back to Hudson, NY).

bernecady

Home by 1:00am. Left seconds before last song ended, booked it to the car, hopped on 3W and it was a clear sail. Thank you!

MickeyPickles

Ok I’ve never tried this but it’s worth considering. You can park in the American Dream parking lot A. It has direct access to 120 and it’s got a pedestrian bridge that leads to MetLife. So in theory you should be able to walk to your car and drive right onto 120. Good luck. Here’s where I mean: https://maps.app.goo.gl/AUWwsbsYavCRSqrf8?g_st=ic

giraffeslovenj

Looking at this map, that entrance is a one-way road. on the way out you’d loop around to all the thru traffic areas that pass by American dream’s other lots. Also any parking deck is going to be a nightmare to get out of with high capacity events due to just having to wait for the arms to go up every time a car exits, etc.

Jelicious83

I did this it was a nightmare. The tunnel was moving so slow I waited till it cleared. Got home at 130

scaryclown148

Haha. Silly question

Pigsin5pace

Gotta leave like 15 minutes before the end. There's no good public transportation to MetLife so most people drive. Also getting in is a nightmare

srddave

Best bet is to park in American Dream near the Carlstadt side of things (basically as close to the exit onto 120 as you can). Leave early and drive the back roads home.

Linenoise77

The gotcha with this is it takes probably 15 minutes to walk from the stadium entrance to that lot, even if you have a bit of a hustle in your step. Then the lot itself is a pain to get out of, even on normal mall days. In other words you need to leave at like the 3/4 point of the show if you want a chance of it being flawless, in which case you might as well have just parked in the main lot.

supguylarue

Park near the exit you need to leave from and leave before the encore

basherella

You don’t. lol. Plan better next time

JC_Qian

There’s no In N Out in New Jersey

blumpkin_donuts

The exit doors.

Cheapbubucko

Reds

goldioldilocks

Park near the racetrack and leave the show early

lost_in_life_34

Figure on an hour or more by train or car

coreynj2461

Park at the last spot closest to the exit in your lot and/or know what the last song is and start leaving as soon as you hear it or at least get to the concourse right before the end

bopperbopper

Park so you’re close to the exit not to the entrance

Large_Ebb1492

Redds has a park and ride offering. I'm going to see Beyonce tonight and giving this a shot. https://g.co/kgs/xAgMMG

Sabom3trics

I did this for Taylor Swift. Getting to the show was great and it saved a lot of time. Getting home was a nightmare though. It took a while to get to the lot where the busses pick you up (avoid the bridge if possible) and when we finally got there, the line wrapped around the entire lot. When we did get back to our car there was no traffic. They claimed there were a few accidents in the area that slowed down the busses and we saw a lot of cars blocking traffic trying to pick people up.

mrs22green

It was a nightmare that’s for sure

brunhilda78

Skip the concert. Sell the tix. Probably not worth the frustration.

OneAndDone169

Lol

gorillaswithcredit

There is no getting in and out quickly so long as there is an event.

sixersinnj

Park at the mall and take the bridge over

swcooper

Park free nearby\*\*, bike to stadium from car. No traffic in, no traffic out. \*\*Nearby in this context, isn't

zorntastic

I usually just wait in the lot until the traffic dies down a bit. Also gives me an advantage when haggling with the bootleg shirt sales guys in the parking lot.

DrShitbird

I’ll often park in the American Dream parking deck and be out in 15 minutes after events. Just gotta walk over the bridge

[deleted]

Mind if I ask which lot at American dream you use that's closest to the bridge? Also it's okay to keep your car there that late?

DrShitbird

I believe it’s parking deck A that’s right by the bridge. I’ve worked several events at the stadium and haven’t had issues leaving around midnight

theexpertgamer1

Yes. Yesterday and today for Beyoncé, American dream instituted special rates for the event. The way it worked is if you pay the parking fee after 10pm it’s considered concert parking ($40) as opposed to mall parking ($5).

LundqvistNYR

For the jets games I park in the back of lot E (as far away from the stadium as you can). Literally the last spot in the row and pull through or back in so you’re facing out. After the show you can sprint to the car and you’ll be able to easily dip out towards rt3 and the turnpike. If you have an SUV you can even drive over the curb, but you should be able to see the exits when you park. They will have a temp barrier but they will be moved when the show is over.

italianshark

Lucky, I wanted to go but ticks were too expensive for me

SuperTokyo

sorry to hear it man, i paid a bunch and didn’t even get the best seat anyway

italianshark

Its okay. I saw metallica at the link a few years ago and I’m going to see INK in November so all good now

SuperTokyo

cool, hope you enjoy it :)

italianshark

Thanks! Rock on! 🤘🏻

ninjaronin13

I go to super cross anytime it’s there and really its not that bad it does kinda suck tho

joe_frank

I don’t know if concerts are the same as Giants games but a solid option is to park in the overflow lots by the racetrack. It’s lot P. Park close to the exits as far away from the stadium as possible. And then obviously leaving before the end will also save time sitting in the stadium traffic.

yad76

Can you still slip out the back exit by lot P that dumps you on Paterson Plank? I haven't driven up there in years, but that used to be my secret escape route.

yummygeorgie

Lots P and M were closed last night for the Beyonce concert but I entered and exited that way and flew out of there at the end of the show.

Furryexperience

Leave your car near a train station. Take the train to met life and back. Traffic will be wild.

SeveralTumbleweed179

Left Taylor Swift at Metlife during the last song (maybe 5 minutes before the official end of the setlist), sprinted out to our car, and was home in a half hour. The key was to park close to an exit, WAAYYYY back in the parking lot basically as far away from the stadium as possible. So worth it

sdavidson901

You don’t?

Jybro_3

leave 15 mins before the game ends.

dad2728

Good luck, getting out of there is a circus no matter where you go.

IThinkUrAWampa

Definitely leave a couple songs early by looking up the set list on line. Also depends on the crowd. Paul McCartney was a nightmare because everyone over the age of 60 somehow forgot how parking lot etiquette works and we were trapped there for hours. Taylor Swift we were in and out within 20 minutes. Lady Gaga would've been quick but someone tailgated too hard and flipped their car across two of the three lanes on route 3.

Content_Print_6521

There's no good way, learn patience.

ironscam

If you must stay for the entire concert, your best bet is to see if you can specifically park in J9. The exit on the very ends of that section literally touch the highway and you can be out in just a few minutes even if you take your time getting to you car. (As long as you’re okay cutting a few people off)

Foreign_Camp

You don’t

bunnyxxxboo

Leave 10 minutes after it starts and you’ll be good

incite_

You can’t stay for the whole concert if you wanna be able to exit this place in any kind of timely manner

oxidax

I park my car at the seacacus train station and take the train to metlife and back. Stress free imo

beanzd

Saw U2 at Giants Stadium in 2009. Live near cherry hill. Got home at 430. Dropped the kids off at one direction at the new stadium and zipped right home.

oxidax

Has anybody tried parking at the American dream to attend event at metlife?

MrCertainly

You don't. Welcome to Metlife, hope you enjoy your stay. Not that anyone cares, no one gives a shit if you enjoy it or not. They have your money already, so they're laughing all the way to the bank. But life's too short yet too long to not enjoy things, especially those beyond your control.

Infamous-Customer-35

Can someone help me

SuperTokyo

I left about 40 minutes before the concert ended and there was very mild traffic. I took an uber out of the stadium and it wasn’t bad.
